it I want to translate framework-res.apk to a language that doesn't exist in its res folder,can I do the same procedure as to any other apk(i.e decompile,add the new language folder to the res folder,compile and push tho framework folder) or because its in the framework folder I need to do something else?

You can't just take one from another rom or phone. Because stuff like no language for "tweaks" or other rom specific stuff will throw you into an infinite unrecoverable bootloop.

is there a rom were it looks like the old sense, with out the 3d looking home screens and the way it changes for page to page, i just want it to look like the old sense so if anybody knows if theres a rom out there would you give me a link, please and thanks
Check my signature for the android revolution in I believe 2 or third post he has the flashable (no sense) mod. Maybe that is what your looking for.
I personaly like the 3d affects but others feel its a bit heavy on the device.

I have root and will be happy to backup and send you a copy. I'm guessing that I need to unlock my bootloader and install a custom recovery first. I cant seem to locate information on unlocking the bootloader and where to get the correct CWM for this tablet. If you point me in the right direction I'll hook you up ?

Ok, it's done. I can see its filled up my storage, but I can't find the files. In the past they would be backed up in the CWM folder, but I can't locate them. Any ideas?

Look in /mnt/shell/emulated/clockworkmod. Very odd place so I understand the confusion, I've never seen that before.

Nothing to test, cwm works and its a backup. I'll see if I can pull images and make a stock zip like I did for AOSP. So that if it's ever needed again it will be easier.
Also check earlier in the thread for the location that cwm backs up to. For some reason it isn't the standard location.

so whats the exact command I need to put into adb to push the backup onto the device. I copied it manually but it doesnt show up in CWM...lol

I get it to push everything via adb but it still shows "install untrusted" in cwm, and it fails everytime, i've tried everything! It's driving me bonkers...i've even pushes the zip/unzipped folder to the same location via rom toolbox pro, and still a no go. it doesnt show up in recovery also

After about 3,000 restarts and tons of BS here and there I FINALLY figured it out. It just randombly decided to shownup in the cwm recovery...got it loaded and im posting this on the new rom! Thanks guys...seriously..?i missed stock. And I feel as If this actuallly works faster? Lmao

I was fidling around with the secsettings.apk on the s3 and failed to make a backup, I've been wandering the internet for a secsettings.apk for s3 (verizon) and Ive only gone through trial and error. Does anyone, by any chace, have a s3 secsetting.apk or help of any kind, without it, I am unable to access system settings.
I'm still new to xda, but I do have an s3. It's on 4.4.2. Just not sure how to share apk

I think I know one way if you're willing to help.
You can use root browser to go through system files, if you go to system/priv-app/ copy the secsettings.apk (and probably the secsettings.odex) you can copy them to your phone files.
I got that far, but when trying to add attachment it says it's too big a file

No i can download and install fine, but when i reboot, it freezes up. What is gearutils? No, i havent modded my system UI yet

I have been trying to get it but i suck at poking around in those files. I tried 3x and bootloop everytime. Do i copy the 3 files from my framework apk to the one u sent and what do i need to do to my services.jar and core?
*In other news* We should team up on some stuff man. U seem way better at editing framework than me. Wanna help make the edge screen services.jar edits? It involves adapting code to existing code but its a guess and check mess. I ask for help from everyone and its hopeless so far..
Yes used your 3 files from the original stock apk before you did any modding to your system. But make sure they from system to system framework to framework and settings to settings. And I'm looking into edge now since I have the stock from fully deodex which increase our framework because before framework wasn't deodex all the way

You have to edit service jar and core jar to disable signature check. That way you can install any app I almost got this nougat stock system root instead of systemless be using FX. What ever I can help with I'm in. I do a lot of it on my phone with aik mobile and icode
