Hi,
have similar issue on g. tab 10.1 , it's buffering and after some time there is information that there was an error.
some movies are still playable..
I just bought my SGT+ tonight (sunday) and noticed the same thing. But I have not spent much time with it yet.
For me nothing worked until this:
tried to clean data restart and so on, till I uninstalled update and now it works. I think they try to implement something so you can't watch from other country as my phone think I'm from US but I'm in Europe or they made really poor app.
Crappy version: 5.1.10
My version: 4.4.11

Hello,
Thank you in advance for answering to my question. I searched for an answer to my problem, but i coulld find something that works on the forum.
I bought a Xoom wifi a week ago, made the 3.1 OS update (the one available in France at this moment) and flash is working well on it (i don't think that there is a problem with it, i even reinstalled it from the market). Also it can read MP4 videos that i put directly in it from my pc.
The problem is that my xoom doesn't read any video on the internet (Youtube App, videos of other app, videos of website, i'm using Dolphin HD). On the youtube app for example the screen gets stuck at "Buffering).
I didn't make any change on my xoom since i bought it (just installed some apps). I would be grateful if you helped me with this problem that makes my xoom not fully usable.
Regards.
ps: i'm a noob.

If you are stuck at buffering, it might just be a weak data connection. Streaming videos uses a bit of bandwidth.
Also, the YouTube app is known to have problems.
Hello,
I've got an Xperia L and have the latest firmware installed (15.0.a.2.17). No issues so far except that I've noticed the phone only plays a few seconds of a Live Channel in YouTube then freezes. I've tried with and without the YouTube update.
All other YouTube videos that are played are totally fine. It is just ANY Live Channel in YouTube...it just doesn't work. It'd be nice to know if anyone else is having this problem.

try to clear the cache and the data from the app menu. and then play live channels. It should work. i guess
Thanks for replying but that doesn't do anything. I've now updated to firmware 15.3.A.0.26 and the issue persists.
The only thing that works is if I downgrade to an older firmware like 15.0.A.1.31 or 15.0.A.1.36.
I'd just like to know if others have the same problem. Can anyone with an Xperia L please try playing a Live Channel in YouTube for more than 60 seconds and see if it freezes? The issue is with firmware 15.0.A.2.17 and newer...at least for me it is.

Everything is stock on my phone and I'm running YouTube 5.2.27 with the new KitKat OS. I'm experiencing a bit of stutter/jitter when playing videos on YouTube in both low and high quality. The motion of the video isn't quite fluid. When playing the same vids through Freedi YT player or through the browser, I don' t see this issue at all but I love watching vids on the app the most, but can't stand the stutter.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issues? Sorry if this has been answered, I just couldn't find anything about it asides from the thread above me.
Having the same trouble, any solutions?

Are you running on 3G, LTE, Wifi? and it has to do with the version of youtube. Currently unnoticed with Franco kernel but may have somthing to do with the release build. Try clearing data/cache to see if that works. If not, uninstall the updates to factory to see if problem persists since that version. Reinstall again and try that as well.

I installed an unofficial cm rom on my note 10.1 n8010 for about three weeks ago. Everything worked fine except for the videos. I cant watch any videos at all. On for example youtube I get an error that says "There was an error while trying to play the video". Gallery videos wont play either.
Ive searched on Google and it seems to be that the hardware acceleration is broken. Ive tried to do a full wipe and I have even installed another cm based rom, but still no success.
Does anyhone else have this problem or is it just me?
In desperat need of help. Dont know what to try next...

hi,
i have issues with video playback on the 8013 running gnabo and omni.
the workaround seems to be tubemate and deselecting the play in page option.
you will need to download it on your pc though since the site download
from within android fails.

Hey,
So I'm on a stock 5.1.1 and updated to the latest Google Photos version, which I think screws with my devices HW acceleration. Basically , after updating I can't watch any HD videos without the frames stuttering, the screen sometimes blacks out in middle of viewing videos as well. Searching around I found that more people experience this, but it isn't that widespread. The problem goes away if I revert the update. Any help for additional workarounds would be appreciated.
Thanks
I was able to find another solution to this. With the latest photos app running, I went in to developer options and switched from NuPlayer to AwesomePlayer making things working smoothly again when playing videos.
If anybody can check what player they're running after updating the app and tell me if they experience video playback stutter with it, I'd appreciate it.
Seems like Google switched between default players on the different OS updates, I'm wondering if they've done the same and it didn't register or something.
Thanks.
