[Q] Android Revolution HD 6.0.2 XE - General Questions and Answers

Howdy,
I have installed Android Revolution HD 6.0.2 XE exactly as requested and it works okay. But in his thread ( i am not yet allowed to post normally yet, jez ) say there will be the chance to "You will be asked during the installation process if your device is HTC Sensation 4G" and "Added possibility to choose Sony Bravia Engine support while flashing process" and "Added warning for Sensation XE users not to flash 1.5 GHz kernel - they have 1.5 GHz by default!", but on mine there were no questions and no choices. When I check the cpu speed it is at 1.2ghz. What did I do wrong? Again the installation went fine but there no choices.

Hi,
Do you have 4EXT touch recovery? Cause if you don't, some functions like interaction with user during flashing, can't work.
Pawel

That is what I have been using

still same problem

Android Revolution HD 3.6.8 custom kernel question

Just have a question for a custom kernel. I'm now running ARHD 3.6.8 on my HTC Sensation and it says Android 2.3.4 with 1.73.401.2. In the first post of the ARHD ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
Code:
Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) - latest official HTC RUU 1.73.401.2
This might be sound stupid but I never changed kernel and I do not want to end up with a bricked device so I go down the first post to 'Downloads' and I click on 'Custom Kernel Section'.
Ending up here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2#post16419842
Then at the HTC Sensation / HTC Sensation 4G / HTC Sensation XE header there are all different versions of kernels and behind that there are descriptions as for example: For 1.45.401.2 (Android 2.3.4) or For 1.35.401.1 (Android 2.3.3).
But none of them is saying: 'For 1.73.401.2 (Android 2.3.4)'
I assume this means that the kernel will replace this to the version which is underlined in the description in the custom kernel section? (So actually downgrade it from the default 1.73.401.2 to for example 1.45.401.2?)
I just don't wanna end up with a bricked device or something
Thanks.

Hi,
If you are wanting a newer kernel, use the one in my signature.
Place it on your sd card,
wipe your cache and dalvik,
flash the kernel like a ROM,
and reboot.
Anyways, in the main post of the ARHD mike posted direct link to the main page of the faux123 Kernels, and Bricked i guess too.
That way i keep using 3.6.8 with 0.2.7 faux123 Kernel
I got now the new kernel from faux123 (the 0.2.7 - 1.73GHz) and it's working great!

Thanks for your help

Did you install the proper firmware? Since you did super cid I would guess you did but just checking since you didn't specify. If you did not you can find the files in the ARHD OP.

-- installing: /sdcard/PG58IMG.ZIP
finding update package...
opening update package...
installing update...
Installation aborted.
i dont know what im doing wrong ..

No it will run even better at 1.5. I have a non XE and I run at 1.5 also. However you do trade some battery life for the extra speed. If you want more OC options see the kernel link in my signature. Glad you're up and running!

Android Revolution HD Rom Difference & Help with Root Terms

Just started learning rooting about few days ago, I'm planning to root my Sensation 4G this week. I have decided to use the Android Revolution HD as my custom rom. But when I went to download it, there was 3 versions of it. Android Revolution HD 6.7.2, Android Revolution HD 6.7.2 XE with Beats Audio, and Android Revolution HD 1.2.2 T-Mobile. Could someone tell me the difference between those.
Also I'm kinda confused with this thread here. The part where it says "Download firmware for HTC Sensation (PG5813000, PG5811000 & PG5810000) & HTC Sensation XE (PG5813001)" with lots of downloads is where I don't get it. Do we really need to download the RUU, most video that show how to root the Sensation 4G doesn't download it, all they download is this PG58IMG.zip which I don't know what it is, could someone also explain that. Below the thread it says "2. It's recommended to flash it before flashing custom ROM based on proper RUU!" What I want to know is what is that and what good is it to flash the RUU before flashing a custom rom. Thanks.
I have the same questions. I flashed to the Revolution HD with Beats on my sensation and now the WIFI does not work and the 4G is showing as H and is very very slow. Did I do something wrong?

[Q] HTC Sensation XE ELEGANCIA Rom

I have installed the latest Rom of ELEGANCIA on my HTC Sensation Xe Z715e. Can Someone please answer to my following queries regarding the same.
1) The Clock speed is being shown as 1.8 GHz Dual Core instead of 1.5 GHz Dual Core. This is having impact on my battery life. But will this have any impact on the device iteself.
2) The Google MAP is not working well as it was working with the STOCK Rom. The app freezes. Navigation doesnot work. Even the GPS locating tool is working below mark. Is this related to this ROM or it is an issue irrespective of ROM.
I have Installed the Sense 4.1 UI.
