Look what I just found! http://www.fortte.com/503/T-Mobile-G2X-leather-case/
Leather cases for G2x in all forms: Vertical or Horizontal flip, pouch, and open-face style. They have the camera hole and the flip-style carries credit cards. Looks like it's easy to talk on the phone and text too! With the flip style you're screen is protected. There's even a belt clip and a wrist strap option.
They are $40 but I might spring for it if I can't find a better deal
Finally, a case for this phone with class!
I found this by searching for "BookBook G2x" in Google. Those iphone cases are gorgeous and I'm jealous!
These are custom cases BTW. Each change is extra, but you can pick any color, belt clip style or wrist strap, and even emboss them with your name.
True class!
The vertical flip model converts into the open-face (traditional case) model for 2 case styles in one.

I wish I had seen this one before buying my current book model. Most cases for the G2X flip on the wrong side, this one works exactly the way I want it to.
Screw it, I'll buy another one. Thanks for the link!
"on the wrong side..."
Which side is that?
I've finally figured out how to talk on the phone with these horizontal "book" cases. They usually flip all the way back so it's doubled. If the case is made well this will not feel awkward in your hand, causing you to drop the phone.
The only problem then is that you're exposing your credit cards to a thief, encouraging them even more! (I'm a city girl)
Still... I want it.

Correct side (IMHO): from the bottom up (like most iPhone flip cases)
Wrong side: from the top down (it's simply annoying).
Yes. My current carbon fiber case flips down. But folding it backwards makes it slippery so I let it hang down by my mouth. Looks like an 80's car phone! The higher grade leather one's should be less slippery though.
What's nice about this fortte vertical case is that it snaps on both ends so you can flip it either way, or remove the cover.
Update: I just ordered a new flip case that flips "in the wrong direction." LOL Once I thought about it, it didn't seem like a big deal to have it wrap behind my head, or double it over while talking.
BTW I also like that you can prop these up like a kick stand on a table.

I got the two cases.

You and see from pic Sany0162 that the one case is NOT going to work the bottom is WAY to curved for the Flame. Which leaves the other case. In Sany0161, 0164 those two points were straight and were about 2 mm to narrow to fit the flame, but using a heat-gun (or a hair-dryer) I was able to move the plastic out about 1mm on each side. This allowed the case to fit nicely. The clip on the top is a bit tight, it holds the case in REALLY well but I felt it was a little TOO tight and might scratch the top so I heated it and bent it up 1mm in pic Sany0165 you can see it, this causes it to go in real nice but its now has a little play, (not enough to be a security problem its still really in there, but you might want to consider not doing this step..)
Finally you can see in Image1 that the headphone jack is covered, but with a little dremel action that was also fixed (see 0169 and 170).
And thats it... until they make a case this one isn't too bad.
PS: only allowed 5 files so the rest are in the zip
Is there a pouch rather than case? I just want to put the Flame in and take it out to use when it rings. I actually want to use it like how a phone is meant to be used. I don't want to put a case to my face.
You could use the case from an O2 XDA2s... that is what I was using prior, I'm sure you can order it as an accessory...
http://www.seeo2.com/product/XdaIIs/template/XdaIIsAccessories.vm
As for the case above, you don't hold that to your face? You slip it in and out of the clip, its a holster style case. Its really only advantage is easier 1-handed removal/insertion, and a smaller profile, (its mostly just the width of the original phone were the pouch is more cause of the flip... but if you want a pouch the XDA2s works quiet well.
Thanks....
Is the belt clip removable?
Not on that one. But there are usually lots of generic pouches, I'm sure you would find a bunch at a large cellular store that would fit the bill.
I'm using an aluminium case that allows to answer calls without opening it, so the screen doesn't get dirty. It adds some size, but if you use the clip belt, that's not a problem. Anyway I only use the Flame for work, so it goes into my case with everything else; for my spare time I use an HTC Touch that fits on any pocket and doesn't bother.
Hi,
There has been a lack of leather pouches for the Nexus One.
I Just found some really good one from ebay: -

Why don't these cases cover the top of the phone! Is there like a reason for this?! I mean seriously, the phone can fall out, you can drop it on its top, what would make them leave the top part of the phone un-protected and cover the rest of it -_-'

I guess you can see the upper part of the phone so you can take it out with your fingers.
The pouch is only on the phone when you are not using it i.e. pocket, handbag & anyway when you are not using it what the % anyway the chance that its going fall on the upper visible side of the phone.
the only concern is that the pouch has a magnetics...which might mess up you compass.

I don't think the magnet is strong enough to mess up the compass
Sorry too junior to post a link but what about the pull-tab leather holster from shop.brando.com ( use find product on the home page ).
magnets will screw with your compass. I had an N1 holster with magnetic
lid closure. I tested first. Started with the compass app on, with the phone
front of me like normal and held the holster at arms length, and slowly brought
it closer. At about 2 1/2 ft, the compass needle started deflecting, and got
much worse as I brought the holster closer. Got my money back.
I've also had two of my bank payments cards destroyed by magnets on the phone-holster....The magnet-stripe on the cards couldn't take it when I accidently put the phone and card in same pocket....
(of course the chip on the cards is more widely used now, instead of the stripe, but...)

What is wrong with it specifically? How is the quality and fit?
I'm looking for a nicer case than the stock one, mostly to protect it from my keys. I don't really mind if the compass doesn't work when I'm not using the phone.
If this isn't it, does anyone else have a recommendation for a quality N1 case under $40?
I want a real friggin' pouch with leather carved of Virginian grown cows with the Android logo iron-burned into the leather and smooth innside lining.. I would pay top $$$ for one.
None of that fake syntethic leather stuff.. i want to spoil my Nexus..
Somthing like this: http://www.senacases.com/google/htc-google-nexus-one-cases/
I ordered http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_11000884&products_id=28053
Looks classy and nice, even though it won't have a flip i hope it will fit it tight enough. Still, i want a cow pouch and would kill for one..
I have the sena flip case with the magnets. It does not affect the compass when the flip part of it is open or flipped backwards under the phone. If you go to flip it closed the needle will twirl as you pass the magnets over the top of the phone. That's the only time though. Nothing while it's in the case.
I hated the case at first. Couldn't grab the pull down bar at the top of the phone. After breaking it in for a week it was no problem.

I've always liked Sena cases. VERY high quality stuff. I two in the past, one for my HTC 8125 and one for my Blackjack II. Never ended up getting one for my Tilt 2, though. I play on getting the Ultraslim soon for my Nexus One.
You can tell these manufacturers do not use a cell phone.
These cases NEVER have a hole for the speaker. With the nexus speaker being so low I can only imagine how those cases will muffle the sound.
I always end up cutting a hole myself, but WHY don't they do that themselves? Would be very easy for them, than we can hear ringtones and music with no problem!

Yeah it is sweet but I gave it away because I use the chrome snap-on case from Case-mate and it would fit anymore now I have to use the pouch that came with the phone which I love anyways. When it comes to the Snap-ons I've bought almost all of them even the new one from Incipio and they are all pure crap except the one from Case-mate I give it a 9/10. Also I submitted a review for that case 5 stars but for some reason they didn't accept it.

There is the original HTC pouch for the Desire. This should work great with the Nexus.

how do you think?
+1 for Case Mate, I'm using one and it is very solid and durable, not sure about the otterbox but the Tough Case of Case Mate have many good reviews. Only one down side of it is that switching in/out battery more difficult but I see that the thing I have to pay for the good protection
Case Mate rocks!
Even a Case Mate "Barely There" is good enough for a drop on a even surface. No contact with the screen and the frame if dropped. Happend to me very often.
Saves a lot of money: http://www.amazon.de/Silicon-Samsun...9MU6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1295719519&sr=8-2
It looks a bit luxury at the backside, like juwels. It's glossy but not slippery at all. Very handy as the Galaxy without any case is extreme slippery. It doesn't collect any dust and the screen is protected by the overlapping flange at the front.
Doesn't look like an old truck tire like Case Mate but it's a quiet well protection as I experienced when dropping my Galaxy often enough in my workshop.

Mine fits absolutely satisfying. No spaces between phone and cover, but you can rip it off by one turn with the hand.
The only thing where you feel that it is cheap: there is a (very small) welding seam around as it's made of two halfs. You can use a razor blade to get rid of, very easy.

It's round about 5 bucks, so worth a try. At my point of view they will fit like many others.
One thing I would care about - hopefully feeding the paranoia troll only: in Germany we have very strong investigations in materials. Most cheap plastic are somehow unhealthy. Certain substances (lets name it flexibilizer) are able to leave the plastics and join thru your skin and might be able to damage genome or chromosome set and might cause something like growing boobs where non have to be or what ever. Especially if you are holding that plastic lots of time in sweaty hands.
Kind of a rule: more soft -> more "unhealthy". Depends on material quality.
So, when playing around a long time e.g. while flashing and configure it at home: pull the cover of.
Could not help laughing on that " Growing Boobs" thing.
But on a serious note, well i think you are right as Ive heard about cancers arising from long use of cheap quality plastic.

You got it half right - the man boob thing actually happens, but that's not because it goes through your skin. The chemical used to soften plastic are structurally similar to estrogen, which is the hormone responsible for puberty development in females. Prolonged exposure to the chemical can sometimes induce side effects. But that's usually through the mouth instead of through the skin. Human skins are quite resistant against foreign chemicals.
I've read some tests about plastic grips at construction tools, same at childrens toys (similar tests at adult toys). There is clearly written: contact with skin is able to damage whatever.
However, I still prefer estrogen in women.
So, whenever I am home I pull the covers from the phone. (It's also much prettier without any additional cover.)
I am just thinking of a kind of self-adhesive lamination - maybe clear like glas - on the battery cover, so that the phone will be less slippery. That wouldn't make it more stable when hitting the ground, but it wouldn't slip so easy out of your hand.
Unfortunately the round desin of the housing at all isn't very safe to get a good grip. (That's much better at iPhone4.)
I've been looking to buy a CapDase Soft Jacket 2 Expose. (Kindly Google it, as I cannot post external links yet)
I'm yet to find a webshop that will ship it to the Netherlands. Anybody knows one?
Today i recieved my Amzer silicone gelly case.
Looks good, feels good and doesnt burns a hole in my pocket. It has a nice rough finish on the sides for a good grip. Also my SGS feels more sturdy to hold.

...omg... you don't really want to pay 35 bucks for a piece recycled truck tyre...
Greetings to India, I like the fresh green. ...and none of the truck tyre fans will steal it.
I do not believe that all those 5 times-more-expensive-protectors are 5x better in use, not even more than 1,1x.
Save your money, buy some nice apk instead.
Btw: ... in a few month there will be a new phone available and it doesn't matter anymore if yours is scratched or not.
Just wanted to post a couple of links to some great cases.
I have this vertical flip case http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbon-Fibe...369238?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2314c5e656
and it's perfect. My phone is always protected, even from drops while talking, and I don't need a screen protector. It's also very easy to take on and off for battery changes.
I can fold it backwards like a kick stand to prop my phone up in landscape mode on a table.
It's not magnetic, so no problems with signal.
Throw it in your purse/pocket with the keys. Not a scratch!
I've had it for 7 months and it looks brand new. I'm not going to say it looks like lamb skin but it's much classier than the rubber cases. (It's Carbon Fiber.)
Draw backs:
Looks like an 80's car phone while you're talking because the bottom flap hangs beside your face. Not bothersome at all though.
For heavy texters who are picky about "feel" while typing the flap might be annoying. But for light texting it is not in the way at all. I honestly hate texting so I don't know.
Carbon Fiber Leather Case Cover for T-Mobile LG G2X NEW

For a more expensive look (but only $24.99) there is a vertical flip case at the bottom of the page here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/260774463768?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (I don't have permission to post the picture.)
These are not pouches, but fitted, flip-open cases!
At the top of the page it shows the horizontal cases. I don't like this option because I can't figure out how you would answer the phone! LOL. But they sure look nice.
The vertical version looks like a good bet. However, it's not quite as expensive looking due to the red elastic on the bottom. Small sacrifice.
I don't have this case yet, but what I like is that you can fit a couple of credit cards in it.
What I don't like is that it makes the phone bigger (1/4" lip.) I think it also has a magnetic closure, which could mess with GPS etc.
Honestly I'm so happy with the cheap one above that I haven't been motivated to try this yet. Please let me know if any of you try the horizontal or vertical versions, and what you think.
Here http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GENUINE...Accessories&hash=item3a65bf9fa9#ht_5648wt_905
are some more nice looking horizontal wallet cases. But I just can't wrap my head around the awkwardness of talking on it.
Update: I guess you fold it back doubled against the phone but I could see it being difficult.
All of these cases are great for us girls who don't like manly belt clips. I carry it in my purse, or a small "lanyard" purse around my neck. Perfect to slide into a back pocket also.

I shopped for these pretty carefully and eliminated cases that would cause problems such as:
-Closures getting in the way of the screen and proximity sensor.
-Cases that open "up" instead of flipping "down." (Although I decided to order one.)
-Making sure the camera and headset jack are easy to use.
-Making sure there aren't exposed corners or unprotected areas of the phone during a fall.
...Why don't they make them? Okay, so I'm not the guy who wants the super-skinny barely-there case. Oh, no give me full-on protection, 360 please! I have small children, a full-time job, am a heavy Ingress player, and often juggle many items within my arms/hands as I walk down the street. I NEED protection. That being said, I've looked at cases til I'm blue in the face. I cannot find what I seek...which is a case with a lid! Not a holster clip, not a folio flippie thing, an honest-to-goodness LID that I can slide or clip on when I'm precariously bumbling down the street with my hands full of stuff. I'd settle for a holster cover type case if I could remove the clip part (and if it didn't cost an arm & a leg.)
My Note 8 and my kids' Tab 3s all have covers with lids. Why can't my Note 4 have one, too?
I'm coming from a Note II and have used flip style, first horizontal, then vertical (which I hate). In fact I'm still USING my Note II because I'm paranoid about activating my Note 4 til I have a proper case and feel comfortable taking it out of the house.
With all the screen territory it just seems so....vulnerable. Dropping a piece of buttered toast will ALWAYS render for me butter side down, and I fear the same will be true for screen-down drops. It's just my rotten luck.
Has anyone ever had the same idea? A case with a lid? Any suggestions to throw my "paranoid" way?
I'm looking for exactly the same thing as you. I work in construction and I want something heavy duty. (I don't like otter boxes)
This is the sort of thing I'm looking for:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Circle-Flip-...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item4adad7ce80
Window or no window, I don't care. I saw this case in my local Chinese mall and they said check back in a few weeks and they should have it for the Note 4. However, I emailed this guy on ebay and he said he wouldn't be getting one.
For now I'm using a neoprene sleeve, which I've been using for years, but I yearn again for a clip-able case like this, which I used on my old palm phones for years.
Wow that's killer! That's what I'm talking about, too.....basically. Agreed, don't need the window, necessarily. Looks a little cheaply made, too (as far as not a lot of cushioning) but yeah, definitely on the right track! Closest I've seen to the concept.
Even better would be this.. if only they made it for the note 4. I emailed the company and posted on facebook about it. No reply
http://www.spigen.com/galaxy-note-3-case-slim-armor-view.html
That looks pretty good!
Okay, the closest I can find is the Seidio cases, which have a removable clip holster. I think that will get me the closest to my "lid" though I'd rather have a Verus Thor or UAG. Unfortunately, they don't come with holsters/"lids". I'm looking specifically at the CAPSA because it has a built-in screen cover, like an Otterbox. Unfortunately, it is unavailable yet as per their website. Boooooo.
I have similar needs. The idea case for me would be a combination of a case that provides edge and back protection with the samsung folio "case". Full 360 degree protection.
Spigen replied to me. They said they are working on one like I posted for the note 3
Sweet! Please keep us updated.
Here's something rather interesting:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Armor-Luxury...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item1c48e910b9
A bit on the ugly side. I can deal with that, but I'd be really worried about it ruining signal strength.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Iron-man-Sta...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item58b827a5e1
Wow that's some case! I like it! It's very, very different. I'm wondering if it's cushioned inside, for impact shock absorption.
