how do you think?
+1 for Case Mate, I'm using one and it is very solid and durable, not sure about the otterbox but the Tough Case of Case Mate have many good reviews. Only one down side of it is that switching in/out battery more difficult but I see that the thing I have to pay for the good protection
Case Mate rocks!
Even a Case Mate "Barely There" is good enough for a drop on a even surface. No contact with the screen and the frame if dropped. Happend to me very often.
Saves a lot of money: http://www.amazon.de/Silicon-Samsun...9MU6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1295719519&sr=8-2
It looks a bit luxury at the backside, like juwels. It's glossy but not slippery at all. Very handy as the Galaxy without any case is extreme slippery. It doesn't collect any dust and the screen is protected by the overlapping flange at the front.
Doesn't look like an old truck tire like Case Mate but it's a quiet well protection as I experienced when dropping my Galaxy often enough in my workshop.

Mine fits absolutely satisfying. No spaces between phone and cover, but you can rip it off by one turn with the hand.
The only thing where you feel that it is cheap: there is a (very small) welding seam around as it's made of two halfs. You can use a razor blade to get rid of, very easy.

Some others are available, but very soft. But better than a crashed phone.
Maybe you can try to order in US or China. But there is absolutely no warranty to receive it...
How is this one, let me know your comments on this please - amzer.co.in

It's round about 5 bucks, so worth a try. At my point of view they will fit like many others.
One thing I would care about - hopefully feeding the paranoia troll only: in Germany we have very strong investigations in materials. Most cheap plastic are somehow unhealthy. Certain substances (lets name it flexibilizer) are able to leave the plastics and join thru your skin and might be able to damage genome or chromosome set and might cause something like growing boobs where non have to be or what ever. Especially if you are holding that plastic lots of time in sweaty hands.
Kind of a rule: more soft -> more "unhealthy". Depends on material quality.
So, when playing around a long time e.g. while flashing and configure it at home: pull the cover of.
Could not help laughing on that " Growing Boobs" thing.
But on a serious note, well i think you are right as Ive heard about cancers arising from long use of cheap quality plastic.
But i think i will try this.Going for the Green one

You got it half right - the man boob thing actually happens, but that's not because it goes through your skin. The chemical used to soften plastic are structurally similar to estrogen, which is the hormone responsible for puberty development in females. Prolonged exposure to the chemical can sometimes induce side effects. But that's usually through the mouth instead of through the skin. Human skins are quite resistant against foreign chemicals.
I've read some tests about plastic grips at construction tools, same at childrens toys (similar tests at adult toys). There is clearly written: contact with skin is able to damage whatever.
However, I still prefer estrogen in women.
So, whenever I am home I pull the covers from the phone. (It's also much prettier without any additional cover.)
I am just thinking of a kind of self-adhesive lamination - maybe clear like glas - on the battery cover, so that the phone will be less slippery. That wouldn't make it more stable when hitting the ground, but it wouldn't slip so easy out of your hand.
Unfortunately the round desin of the housing at all isn't very safe to get a good grip. (That's much better at iPhone4.)
I've been looking to buy a CapDase Soft Jacket 2 Expose. (Kindly Google it, as I cannot post external links yet)
I'm yet to find a webshop that will ship it to the Netherlands. Anybody knows one?
Today i recieved my Amzer silicone gelly case.
Looks good, feels good and doesnt burns a hole in my pocket. It has a nice rough finish on the sides for a good grip. Also my SGS feels more sturdy to hold.

...omg... you don't really want to pay 35 bucks for a piece recycled truck tyre...
Greetings to India, I like the fresh green. ...and none of the truck tyre fans will steal it.
I do not believe that all those 5 times-more-expensive-protectors are 5x better in use, not even more than 1,1x.
Save your money, buy some nice apk instead.
Btw: ... in a few month there will be a new phone available and it doesn't matter anymore if yours is scratched or not.

Hi guys,
I have just bought the PO S520 case for my Desire. What can I say? First impression - a nice case with a sleek minimalistic design.
The leather quality is good, you can actually smell that it's real leather (not the faux leather as sold plenty at eBay). The leather is quite soft, you can bend the case very easily if you want to. There are also two.. erm.. "hardening plates" inside the case itself that hold its shape so that it does not feel too soft just like a piece of leather. The "plates" are quite soft as well, apparently made from thin plastic or hard paper. Those are nothing that you can actually see, as they are "sewed in" into the front and rear part of the case. I hope you understand what I mean.
The ex-Blackberry owners having those super-hard-leather-cases that feel like leather but are hard as a rock - no, the PO S520 is not like one of these.
The inner lining is made of some kind of a soft polyester fabric (the one you meet quite often on the inner part of skiing winter gloves, for example). The quality seems to be ok at a first glance.
The phone fits nicely in the case, no parts are sticking out.
The pouch felt a bit tight for the Desire at the first time, (specially the lower part) So i tried to see how stretchable it is. On my way from Tottenham Court Rd to South Kensington (20 mins roughly) I was trying to stretch it with a mock-up Desire (the one they use at stores for display purposes) inserting it slightly angled, holding the pouch a bit skewed etc. When I arrived to work the pouch already felt much more comfortable. So, the verdict is ==> Yes, it does stretch.
As for the pull-out strip. I was very worried about this one as it actually wraps around the whole lower part of your phone when it's inside the pouch. And, of course, when you pull your phone out, it experiences a lot of friction. I was afraid of the phone's soft-touch coating to disappear with time. Looking more carefully has shown that HTC has at least thought about this thing and has made the "inner" side of the strip (the one that faces your phone when inserted) a bit more silky and glossy that might *cough* help the soft-touchiness to live a bit longer.
One pleasant thing to notice was a small magnet inside the end of the pull-out strip. Thus the end does not flutter around but sits tight attached to the case at all times.
A bit less pleasant thing to notice were the inner stitches. On one of the pics showing the inside of the pouch you see two black stitches on the inner-backside. Those are not very flush and may leave "soft-scratches" on the backside of your Desire, so be careful or ask your mum for a solution, she definitely knows how to handle the stitches I personally do not think that this is a real issue as the stitches are nothing "hard" or "sharp".
Right now I have used the pouch for some 90 minutes. Will keep playing with it for the rest of the day and will update the review if needed.
If you have anything to add - don't be shy
Cheers.
Thanks much for your review, very detailed. But could I ask where did u get this case? I thought its due for release on 15th..0.0''

D'oh! Should've looked for it cheaper - ah well, only a fiver!
I ordered one and its been already dispatched from KingofGadgets.(can ne ordered at amazon.co.uk)
Received mine this am, very good quality, looks the part but wow! is it a tight fit I'm glad I was sitting on my couch when I tried it the first few times as I dropped the phone 2 or 3 times as I was trying to push the phone into the pouch, I imagine it will ease up over time but I would be careful when using it initially.
Dont forget to insure your phone.
Thanks for the review, have one on the way...
Thanks for writing this, I am looking alot at cases atm and this one is definitely a contender for 2 reasons, A being an original case and B it's quite cheap, and C (I know 3 reasons ) its simplistic in it's appearance but seems functional.
I would really like some more pictures of the phone fully inserted though. Despite that it appearently is a tight fit when you first receive it, I kinda wonder how big it is/makes the phone.
// Cole
HD2 one was just as tight, got loose as you use it so not worried about that - phone is insured though
When inserted, the phone is not "bigger" at all. The space it takes in pocket is almost the same - that was one of the reasons I bought it.
As for tightness - I did the following trick: I have wrapped my Desire's lower part in paper (took a half A4) to make it thicker. Then pressed the phone in (was not that hard, had no worries to damage the phone or case). Waited for some minutes, pulled the phone out. Voila! Now it fits perfectly - not too tight, not too loose.
As for the stitches - does anyone else experience this? Try pulling your Desire out so that the phone's backside rubs them slightly - do you see any marks? (yes, I know I am being waaaay too perky here, but still )
Sounds good, I've settled for the pictures you posted earlier (which looked quite good I might add), and ordered my own pouch from mobilefun.co.uk (quite low shipping cost of about 4£ within EU, very good).

I have tried to solve it by "polishing" the inner side of the case. I have a mock-up Desire (used for display ppses in stores) and i was simply pulling it in- and out of the case, pressing slightly harder on the back side, trying to "rub the stitches away". Two things I have noticed:
- the stitches did get "polished" and do not scratch the phone that much now, almost not at all.
- the soft-touch coating of a demo-mock-up is way better than the one they apply on the real phone. The mock-up doesn't get any scratches at all, even if I try to scratch it with nails! This is probably made by HTC on purpose, to keep the demo-phone look good in stores despite being touched and dropped a lot. As for the real phone - of course it's better for HTC to make us buy a new battery cover for some 15-20 GBP in the distant future. Nothing to blame them a lot about, actually, every company does smth like that

...but hey! It's good that they do exist!

I'm not really worried about the stitches, they look harmless to me
So today I receive my Clear Smoke Snap On Case from DAYDEAL.COM on Ebay. I always like the smoke look on my phones when purchasing a case, so my decision was no different this time around. The case overall does not restrict the phone functions or slide out keyboard. Phone is protected well from the top and bottom, sides vary because of the large volume key on the phone. The case is more design to protect your phone from scratches, nicks, and knee height drops. Personally I believe major drops like, phone falling when leaving your car, might be pushing it. Case does fits well onto the phone, so you don't have to worry about it falling apart when in use.
Overall I give case a 8/10 base on value, minor protection, and overall design and look on the phone.
I have posted some pictures on my gallery using image shack, see below.

Does it collect a lot of finger prints?

I can answer your second question without a problem, I work doing vinyl manufacturing so grease, dust, and dirt are a daily routine for my phone. So far it has pass the test with two days under these conditions, NO PRINTS, scratches, or stains. Adds no bulk what so whatever, which is a plus. Only complaint is that it's really hard to take off, but that's a good thing also.
Where you get it?
Edit:nvm found out
Sent from my HTC Vision G2
I have the clear version of this... well the place where I got my phone provided me one for free. It's pretty decent for free... as with all cases it'll make your phone look prettty lame but that's the price for protection.
Easy put on, the part that is on the screen is easily taken off but the part attacked to the keyboard and battery are a little harder.
Just got this from daydeal and got to say its fantastic for the price better than the seidio one I had for my milestone thanks op
Just received mine today. Most cases look pretty stupid but I think the "smoke" appearance to this unit actually make the whole thing look pretty nice.
Have the same (?) model and my experinence is the same. The phone feels really protected, but adds bulk and makes it look a bit silly. Almost feels like my old SE P990.
Still it fits snuggly and can't think of a better solution if one wants more than scratch protection.

I never use my keyboard and I was wondering if this case would be better since it makes the phone sturdier by securing the keyboard and maybe make it a little thinner.
Has anyone tried this case or one like it?
thats extraordinarily stupid.

They have one in black: http://www.amazon.com/iNcido-Brand-...ES/ref=sr_1_36?ie=UTF8&qid=1301021620&sr=8-36.
In fact, I think the cheapest option is to get 5 of them lol: http://www.amazon.com/iNcido-Samsun...C8/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1301021593&sr=8-18
I'm still on the fence on this, but even if they suck, it's still less than $10 down the drain.
Unfortunately, having just bought one of the black cases above, I can say that it is absolutely, positively, NOT "one-piece". It's a standard 2-piece slider-type case.
Sigh. (sadly tosses one more case onto the growing pile of unloved cases on my dresser)
Case history so far:
Seidio: meh.
Seidio ActiveX: nice hand feel, but a major 5-minute pain to disassemble the phone when the battery dies after 4 hours, and makes it impossible to use the camera button without shaking the phone.
Aluminum Milano: would rock, if it were made from plastic. When it's closed, the phone is rock-solid, and you'd never even know the keyboard is there. Unfortunately, it's aluminum, and has a family tree that clearly began back when Sprint phones still had real antennas. Putting the phone in it instantly nukes at least one bar, makes bluetooth flaky, and renders the GPS unusable under most circumstances. Worse, the metal picks up stray cat hairs and screws up the touchscreen. As the final deathblow, it covers the top part of the touchscreen, so pulling down the window doesn't work. Totally and completely unusable.
Silicone case from this thread: I can't definitively say I hate it, but I'm still bummed out that it actually IS a 2-piece case. That said, it's nicer than I thought silicone-type cases would be and is fairly easy to remove, so I'll probably keep it on for a few days unless it seriously annoys me in some as-yet unforeseen way. However, the sides are totally unsecured, and I have a hunch my back pocket isn't going to be kind to it.
It'll be just my luck that someone will finally come out with a plastic Milano, or a one-piece silicone case, two weeks after I've already bought my next phone in October.
I hear ya brother, why not try one of those skins that protect the phone. I wanna get one but not sure which one.

This case is HORRIBLE.
Its a cheaply cut silicone 2 piece case. With a CHEAP FLIMSY plastic "rail" sliding groove. When I tried to put it on my phone, the plastic rail part broke, and rendered the case useless.
It doesnt fit well, is MUCH to large for the Epic, and feels like cheap silicone.
I returned it to the seller for the $5. Had to pay return shipping too.
Otterbox Commuter all day guys. best case ive found for this phone. adds a lil bulk to it but its tough and comes with a warranty from otterbox. 1 reccomendation tho if you do get the otterbox commuter series, there are 2 clips at the top, bottom and 2 on the left side of the top front piece. BRAKE THE 2 CLIPS THAT HOLD IT IN PLACE THAT ARE ON THE SIDE! It will still stay on your phone without a problem. I learned that those clips on the side will scratch your keyboard up a lil bit but not TOO horrible, they no longer have a glossy look, look more mat finish but luckily the lettering and FN symbol have not scratched off, i however am OCD about this stuff and learned the hard way but for as many times as i drop my phone, hands down best case on the market if your lookin for protection. it's smaller than the bodyglove, atleast to me it seems smaller, and for those of you who NEED to wear it on the side they do have a pouch thatll fit it. I manage a Cell Phone accessory cart in Florida so as an Epic user I'm always lookin and tryin new cases. if you guys have any question about accessories PM me =D
I can vouch for otterbox. I had the defender for my BB tour back in the day and it was amazing, to say the least. I dropped it from chest height (I am 6' 5") and it hit the cement and bounced. Zero damage to the phone itself and only a little scuff on the case. Otterbox is like having your phone inside an Abrams Tank.

Like the OP, that's all I'm looking for too... I want my phone to feel like it's a nice candy-bar phone, I don't want it to shake and rattle like my screen is about to fall off.

so its a one piece silicon case? like the blackberry ones?
Ultimately I settled on the trident case, pictures in this post. Thanks to gtny930 for finding it for us.
There are some other good case recommendations scattered through the thread, as I get the time I will source them up here for easier reference.
--------
Hey all, i've been searching amazon off and on for cases for our wonderful device, and finally pulled the trigger on one:
Link here
Says it's by HTC, and I ordered from BlueMall, at $0.32 I couldn't not get it...
Rubberized case, two pieces to fit the slide function, looks like a winner.
I doubt it'll be as good as an otterbox as far as protection, but a buddy of mine has an otterbox for his Inspire 4G - and suffers from serious overheating problems. Since our phone already suffers from that with the stock battery i'm gonna pass otterbox by on this phone. (Anker 1900 battery solved overheating problems for me)
Anyways, at less then $3.50 shipped, seemed like a fantastic deal.
Meantime, I have a screen protector and bodyglove on it now, which seems to be a good temporary fix until some proper protection was available. Love the glove, but to me it's only a temporary solution.
What're the rest of you doing for a case or protection for your phone? I'd love to hear about it.
ArmorSuit and HTC Messenger
I got this:
http://www.amazon.com/ArmorSuit-MilitaryShield-Protector-T-Mobile-REPLACEMENTS/dp/B0058XMYDU/ref=sr_1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1314661800&sr=1-3
I posted "customer pics" of what is looks like on my phone too at Amazon.
I'm coming from the G1 and was used to the G1 sleeve so I also bought this:
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Messenger-Pouch-HD2/dp/B003DZ13OG/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1314661896&sr=1-1
It's a nice fit and doesn't stick out the top.
As a side note.. I also bought the case you posted. I like it but it won't fit over the ArmorSuit and I really like how the suit looks and feels on the MT4GS. The phone with suit fits well in the pouch...good combo in my opinion.
Found this on Ebay. Still waiting for it (and MT4GS) to come. =[
I'm not allowed to post links yet so just put a dot in between.
http://www ebay.com/itm/HTC-MYTOUCH-4G-SLIDE-Hard-Cover-Case-SUMMER-FLOWER-/220839183408?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item336b0a8430#ht_2773wt_673
Lily.
MT4GS Cases / Shells
The rubberized hard Body Glove shells offered by T-Mobile (and sold on Amazon, eBay, etc...) are bulky and are missing holes for the microphone above the camera lens. I ended up buying the full body Invisible Shield and it looks great. The only problem is that they didn't include a piece for the bottom front of the phone (under the buttons and around the touchpad). I can put a hard case over the shield if I want, for extra protection or to just change up the look.
I have the solid black case. Just some things to note. First, the back piece is very tight, and I don't think it will ever fall off. However, when removing and replacing the cover, the clips can easily scratch your phone. Second, one or two clips may not actually "clip" to the phone, but rather just get stuck near the top so it still holds from pressure. This really isn't noticeable, but it leaves indents from the pressure on the phone's case. In addition, the clips scrape up against the backside of the screen when sliding up the phone, and over time, start leaving a very noticeable mark. I corrected this with a just a strip of tape over where it was scraping.
The protector for the sliding part of the phone was a bit of an issue. It clips very tightly to the phone, but the clips scrape a lot against the edges of the phone next to the keyboard. In addition to making it a little more difficult to slide the phone, it leads to wear overtime (noticeable wear actually started in less than a few hours of normal use for me). I corrected this by actually cutting off the clips, and using double sided adhesive to stick that part of the case on. It doesn't scrape anymore, but at the same time, it just doesn't look good as the case doesn't properly hold together.
I don't really see how much of this can be fully fixed. I used to own a G1, and I didn't notice the issue of cases scratching the phone until it was too late, but I was able to notice it on my MyTouch. I'm hesitant to go for the BodyGuardz. I had one on my G1, and though it was nearly invisible protection, and protected 95% of the phone, I ended up dropping my phone and it landed on a sharp rock on part of the 5% that happened to not be covered (which ironically actually are the corners of the phone, where it is very likely to land on).
I'm actually a fan of the body glove case. I'm just waiting for something with more clearance because of the anker battery. I've heard goods things about the otterbox, but it is kinda bulky.

I was going to edit in my response about the case I got in the first post - but after this one I quoted I need say not much more.
I really want to like the case, it feels nice and looks good on the phone...but it makes it too much of a pain in the ... to get the back of the case off.
I didn't realize how often I pop the back of the phone open to swap out memory cards until I put the case on.
It lasted on my phone for about 3 hours before I took it off...and it scratched one corner of my phone when I did it. Scratch isn't bad, and it'll probably buff out over time, but it's the first damage the phone has suffered - ironically from the thing that was supposed to prevent this.
If you are never going to pop open the back of the phone to get to the memory card, and you don't mind the backside of your screen-half of the phone getting scratched up when you slide it open - then this is a pretty decent case.
I think the scratching the back of the screen part can be solved by using a knife to cut a sliver off the part that sticks op, then maybe using a small piece of electrical tape to cover that clip.
I like it, I want to like it, but I can't use it - I take the phone apart too damn much for a case like this to be practical.
I'm on the lookout for a gel-type case now. Think that'll be the perfect solution. If anyone finds one, please mention it here.
I got the black cheap case today. After reading the reviews I knew better than to just throw it on there. So I took a small metal file that I have, and proceeded to shave each clip down just a little. After a few trials I got the clips shaved down enough that they all fit and are not pressing against the bottom of the screen hard enough to scratch it.
The coating on this case was not really rubber. Its more of a dusted flat black. It's not slick to the touch, but it doesnt grip like the rubber of the phone.
The phone still fits into the generic style T-mobile mount. But its not as secure as without. I can turn it upside down and give it a light shake without coming loose. So hopefully it will be fine.
I got my psychedelic cover and I'm not very impressed with it. It makes the phone very bulky and awkward to hold (maybe because of my small girly hands -_-).
I find taking the back cover off particularly stressful because I'm scared I'd rip the screen off the keyboard.
Protection wise I haven't dropped my phone yet to see what kind it would provide but I'm guessing it wouldn't fall off the phone if dropped.
Haven't seen any dents or scratches caused by it.
I think I'd prefer it if it had a more rubbery feel as the texture is kind of smooth and slippery.
Overall, I'm satisfied with it but I wish I could figure out a way to take off the cover without the fear of destroying it. Haha.
Lily.

As a side note.. I also bought the case you posted. I like it but it won't fit over the ArmorSuit and I really like how the suit looks and feels on the MT4GS. The phone with suit fits well in the pouch...good combo in my opinion.
Quick question - in the pictures you uploaded to Amazon the phone back and sides seem to have a checker pattern. Is that pattern due to the protector?
The otterbox exists for this phone? Or you speaking generally about the otterbox product line?

Yes, it's a woven "carbon fiber" pattern. I took the pictures at angles where the light shows it more clearly. I think it looks nice and provides a "non-slip" surface as well without adding any bulk to the phone when you want to use it, which I personally prefer.

I'm coming from the G1 and was used to the G1 sleeve so I also bought this:

Thanks for linking this and posting the pics on Amazon., I'm going to order one today.
Thanks. I ordered one and installed it yesterday. The front and back went on great. I had more trouble with the sides but that is because I am not the most deft person around. There are a lot long thin pieces but MT4GS has a lot of moving parts. The phone looks great from the front. But the back has a bubble or two - again my clumsiness.
I wonder how long Otterbox will ignore this phone? Annoying....
Meanwhile, this HTC shell is gettin it done. Only complaint is that its not Otterbox.

That's about the same thing I got that I posted about before - just mine is in black.
I know I said a few posts back that I wasn't going to use it, but I had to do something to try to keep it safe.
I've been using it for a few days now, and while I have my gripes, I suppose it's okay.
I got tired of not being able to put it down anywhere, for fear of scratching the camera lens. This case sits further down then the lens, so it isn't the thing the weight of the phone rests on.
Before, i'd have to find something soft to put it down on everywhere I went, which was annoying. I wouldn't put it in my pocket, because they are always full of dust and whatnot - that little grainy stuff gets into the phone and I didn't want that.
Now, with the case on, it doesn't fit in my belt holster anymore - so I have to put it in my pocket or carry it. Desperately seeking another solution but coming up short.
What i'm thinking about doing is drilling some holes in the back of the case, and attaching a belt clip to the hard case shell itself.
So now i'm looking for either a belt holster or a clip I can attach to the hard case itself. Whatever ends up happening, i'll get some pictures and put 'em up here.
What I really, really, really, really want is a soft-rubber case, like a gel case of some sort that can absorb shock - not some hard plastic thing.

Can you 2 that got this case tell me if it fits OK? I hate cases that feel like they are going to fall off after they are on...does this one do that? Specifically when you slide the keyboard up with your thumbs does the front part of the case feel like it would fall off because of your thumb pressure?
Just wanted to be sure it was somewhat well constructed...the $5 price tag just has me concerned.

No, it's fine. I've dropped the phone twice and the case hasn't come off. And it certainly isn't about to come off from handling/usage of the phone. It fits snug. Supposedly its made by HTC, if that means anything. The case does it's job without problems.
Just waitin for Otter.....
Any body have a silicone case? Or one of these?

It fits snug, coming off accidentally isn't a problem. Both the top piece and the bottom piece are secure, normal - or even some exaggerated abnormal - use won't knock it off.
The longer I use the case the more it grows on me, I really like the silky feel of it. There have been a few situations already where having a case protected the phone - I haven't dropped it and hope I never do, but since it's becoming a portable video game system/controller amongst other things it can't be without one.
I suppose you could do far worse then this case, but i'd trade it for a gel-type rubber case in a heartbeat. Hard cases don't protect from shock damage.
Hi guys, I'm sure you've seen quite a few pictures of those accessories, so I thought I'd post here a few images from very close to some details so you can have a good idea of the finish, etc.
Also a small comparison with an official case (nylon one). I've ordered a skin for it, but it was on preorder and just started shipping today.
Sorry for the lint on some pictures, it does catch it ^^
As for my opinion (one more of those), well the case does feel real good in hand, the phone feels really safe in there. The buttons are real good (miles better than Rhinoshield bumper). Only thing is that the fingerprint scanner is deep and in a small window, so must get a little used to the feeling of really accurately put the finger in there. And is it grippy ? Is fine! a bit better than the official case but not by super much.
Prism is also good, easy to install. Biggest critic is how sharp the edges are (you can see on the pictures). If you don't use a case, you'll feel them and I'd be afraid to lift it by mistake, not sure how securely it sticks. The feeling is like glass, I was using the phone naked previously and no problem with that. Also, it does not affect the screen, I think ; some peops say it makes the screen cloudy, but I do not notice.
Worth the price ? Hmm those things are a rip off no matter what. But they are both good quality products, and the glass screen protector without a black border is a real step up ^^.
There you go!
Thanks for sharing! Would you recommend dropping $$$ on this combo?

Well, all in all, it is near 60 USD.
The case is good I think, feels good and will protect the phone that's for sure, so if you don't have anything like that, it is a good buy. I also have an official OP cover and the main difference is that the Dbrand case has raised edges.
The glass, while it is good, is not as ground breaking as I imagined (Dbrand's marketing team is good ^^). The plus is that it feels like glass and does not have a black border, is as fingerprints resistant as the bare glass or the official screen protector. The bad is that the glass as you can see on the pictures is really only on the screen and has sharp corners, so you feel it when doing gestures, unless you use a case (because then your finger does not slide from the farther edge of the phone, if you see what I mean).
So out of the two, I would say the actually real good product is the case.
The case looks too bulky to me. I prefer the slimmer ones like the official protective sandstone or the karbon bumper, which are really well made. But I guess it depends on the environment you're working in (etc) which affects the danger your phoneis in, in which case, if it's a place you can easily damage it, this type of case can save you good money on repairs. The prism looks really durable from what I've seen online and I believe you get 2 in the box if I'm not mistaken, so if that's true, that's a big plus over rhinoshield's overpriced 1x black bordered piece of crap that covers at least 1mm of screen on each side, forcing you to just take it off minutes after installation and breaking it in anger.
Anyway, thanks for giving us a look at dbrand's new products. Was really looking forward to seeing someone talk about that.

I agree as well, it does add quite a bit of bulk.
I have all in all 3 cases. The simple one from OP (carbon one), their thicker nylon one and this one from dbrand. I don't really need a lot of protection (scratches protection is good enough) so it's mostly to change the look. I go naked as well with just a skin.
The result is that with that dbrand case you do feel very confident that the phone is safe.
Yes you do get two prism in the box, so that's actually quite a sweet deal because those are sturdy and nice to the touch really like glass without the border.
I have not been able to try with the simple case from OP, it's still in my boxes after moving house, but do not underestimate how annoying the edges of the prism are. They really really get in the way.
I think it's important to stress this because for example people were downplaying the terrible buttons of the Rhinoshield bumper for op5 and I got it and it was in actuality very bad.

I dropped my OP6 from approximately 2.5meters from the locomotive's door and the phone miraculously survived with the karbon case having one nick in the top right side corner and surprisingly that disappeared after a few days. Very impressive quality. I was also very lucky, I guess, considering the height the phone fell from. THEN I got the bumper case from Rhinoshield along with the garbage black bordered glass. I broke the glass in half after basically donating money to them because that glass was not worth the price, but that was that. I put their bumper on my phone and left it there for a few days. ****ty buttons, poor quality material and slippery too, like a hard plastic you find in those kitchen accessories, but whatever, I liked the alert slider one. Then one day I got in my car and the phone fell from my pocket on concrete (or asphalt) and because it happened right at the edge of the road, one hard little rock managed to touch the edge of the screen at impact and cracked the screen on the middle right side with the crack starting from the bottom and ending in a "C" shape 2 or 3 centimeters above. So it's still ok but the start of the crack can be felt at touch so that's a bummer.
And in the end I could've given the money to the old lady beggar at the corner of the street instead of giving it to Rhinoshield for 2 absolutely rubbish products they made such a big fuss about.
Never again I'll buy from them. Dbrand's products seem a bit different though especially that prism. I might get one and put it on the screen to protect it from getting other cracks if I accidentally drop it, cause the crack is pretty small to make me replace the screen. I don't think it's worth it.

Yeah, as usual those things are very often quite a leap of faith. We want to believe that the more expensive it is the better it will be but the truth is that it's probably the same or close to the same with a different packaging
But need a screen protector at least to maintain the resell value of the devices.
I'll say again, prism is a good one but not perfect (like none of them is).
Can you comment on the alert slider functionality with the case on? I can make it out slightly on one of the pictures and it looks like you can use it with ease?
I'm currently using a Poetic case, I need a solid case with my work conditions. The only issue is the damn alert slider is rendered unusable without a pen or something similar handy.

Hey,
The slider is quite easy to use yes.
You got to get a bit used to it cause its quite nestled in there so you have to make a little effort at first to put the finger the right way.
Same as with the fingerprint reader, a little bit of time to get used to it, because it's deeper so you can't approach it from whatever direction like you would naked or with a different case. It's still easy to use.
All in all out of their two products, I recommand the case with no problem. If you look for safety then for sure go for it.
Will make a few more pics to show you.

Sure, no problem.
So here are a few more. The last one is to show how the phone screen does not touch a flat surface when it is put face down. It's blurry but you'll get the idea.
Also some lint, not fighting that anymore
