Task manager or the closest thing to it is in settings>apps>Manage apps>Running Services>*click running at the top right*.
There is no Sony Ericsson file manager.

Well sad that there is no file manager :/. What filemanager do you guys use?I use the ES Taskmanager as taskmanager .

Root Explorer all the way. It's the most simple, powerful and elegant file manager out there. Huge searches in seconds, a wholly unobtrusive UI and a tad of options like the possibility to peek into zip files, a nice text editor... I just can't love without it.

ES File Explorer's been the best for me, especially when it comes to network functionality. Very easy to access the shared media on my computer with ES File Explorer.

Oh wow guys for helping .Im using ES Filemanager its the best.

Seriously, you haven't tried File Expert yet...
Besides, Root Explorer is for guys who do a lot of modding system settings. So for your case, a straightforward application [and also more elegant] is what you need.

Mine came with 'office suite' pre-installed which is a file explorer.

Office suite doesnt read all files.

Don't use task managers / killers, even google say that.

The Android operating system does that for you... you don't need one.

Enable all downloads in browser without astro

Basically the only reason I have astro installed is because I want to be able to download anything. But, it's inconvenient when I don't want to work in terminal and want a more visual idea of the file system as it cannot access root.
Currently, I prefer root explorer. I still want all downloads though. Can I do this without astro to avoid two exploring Apps?

I just installed Dolphin Browser Mini and it is great, downloads zip file for flashing with CWM without a problem. I used to LauncherPro to hide the icon in the App Drawer for stock browser.

[Poll][Q]Best file manager for android?

What is the best file manager for android.

You can use Astro File Manager or Root Explorer
undoubtedly solid explorer
Solid Explorer or Es File Explorer
Another vote for es file explorer. Its easy to use but so powerful. I even use it to stream video from my PC on my home network. It finds samba shares automatically. And you don't, need a separate root explorer as it can do root tootoo

Use Terminal Emulator
Rename/Move: mv [FILE] [FILE2/PATH]
Copy: cp [FILE] [PATH]
Delete: rm [FILE]
Rootaccess: su
Show file-content: cat [FILE]
BRICK PHONE : erase_image recovery
It‘s very easy to use !
Too much typing for my fat fingers. Lol

No Doubt 'ES FILE EXPLORE'
XDA Premium
As the replies clearly shows, there is no best file explorer, only best for you. Try them all then decide for yourself. Its like this with every application, from launchers to back up software. It all comes down to what you want it to do, how close it comes and how easy you find the application to be to use. Personally I use both solid explorer and es file explorer.

Download Manager?

So I'm just wondering: what does everybody use for a download manager ( or do you keep stock)?

I never use download managers on any platform

I usually use ES File Explorer's in-built download manager! It's awesome with resume support.
Even this download manager seems pretty good!: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dv.adm
It has all the various settings that you will find in a proper download manager like queues, part splits etc.
I use ADM download manager..

Dropbox downloads

Is there any apps that I can use to download dropbox folders to my ad card? I've been trying to use es file explorer but it just seems to get stuck. I'm doing everything over mobile data rather than WiFi if that makes a difference? I did look at dropbox folder downloader, but it says it doesn't work for 4.4 yet?
