Hi yall. Ok so I have flashed every rom on here including the T-mobile ones and I found something a little strange. Not a single rom is as smooth as the stock Rogers rom. None. I didnt realize it until I grabbed my girlfriends Skyrocket (stock) and it pissed me off. Dont get me wrong, the roms are all super smooth just there is something smoother about the stock rom. Its in the transitions between apps etc. Even Bonestocketeer is not as smooth. My only guess is it is the difference between odexed and deodexed. Am I crazy? Im currently running stock rooted (since this morning) and it is definitely smoother. Boring as hell but smooth. Any thoughts? I know I am being SUPER PICKY (even the worst roms on this beast are smooth) but I see it

I don't have rogers. What I would have to say that red sonja is much smoother than the stock at&t rom even the other ones I think are smoother than it . though it may have to just beem touchwiz though. I have tried most romz and I don't see this issue I think of the devs rom are quicker at least in that respect

I concur. You aren't crazy. I rom hopped for the first two weeks of having the phone, and while Bonestocketeer was my favorite for when I used a custom Rom, I found that debloated stock with Da_G's kernel worked the best.
Or, at least if you are crazy, I guess call me crazy too.
I have a rogers skyrocket as well and I definitely agree that stock is the fastest, every other rom lags especially switching between homescreens.
I would also like to say that red sonja is the most overrated rom on here. Notice how it's always the same two people on here spouting off about it day in day out? Yes, you definitely did..
I have tried them all and that was probably one of the worst. Sorry guys but stock blows it out of the water.
Unless perhaps it is different on an att skyrocket...

Maybe it is different on an att device. Its runs smooth as hell for me. And the two people spouting off about it just love their rom. As do i. If you don't like it don't flash it

Everyone is entitled to an oppinion. But being a troll. And puting down any devs work is not really tollerated. Im not going to argue with you. But bad attitudes are not wanted here. If u dont like red sonja dont use it. But dont run your mouth about what other work hard on. Try and have a better attitude. Thats a suggestion you should really consider

And I don't think its spamming threads. There are a hundred threads out there with the same question. "Which is the best rom out there?" As soon as a new one pops up everybody throws their opinion in. I'm not tired of seeing red Sonja, I'm tired of a thousand threads with the same damn question. Those are the folks you should be after. Not Sonja lovers

Its out for everyone, but I would suggest that the dev who made it post it on here, if they want it on here, or at least ask them first.
its freely available on his site, dont need to be a premium member.
i see nothing wrong with this especially if he is posting it for free download on his own site.
i would send a message to him and just ask if he minds.
he is getting traffic to his site so most people wouldnt care.
good catch...
i always wanted to have a good look at his scripts.
just flashed only change that i did was flash CFS#11 because for me is the best kernel, so far so good, like always King good job
Considering switching over to this from fresh. Waiting to hear some reviews first.
anyone have screen shot?
Here's a couple screenshots...
ahhh its rocking the newest version of everything except the pri version is older kinda beat
So it looks like king finally got his evo? Thats nice to know. As far as what i've read and seen about this rom, there is absolutely nothing special that would make me want to switch. "Well here it is. I have been working on this for some time now"
I would expect something great with a statement like that. Well Maybe i'm expecting to much. Can anybody that has used it make a case for it? Is it in any way better than the other roms out? thanks

Gonna give this one a shot. Been using CM6 for about a week, and I wanna try something new. Hoping for better battery life here. Not thrilled it's a Sense ROM, but, oh well.

PRI is independent of ROM. If you have the latest PRI, it will stay with any ROM you flash.
First thing I can say about it is it feels very quick indeed. Overall it feels a bit more responsive than cm6. My biggest concern is battery life. Although my Evo had acceptable battery life when running stock, I have noticed that it was actually worse when running cm6.
I do miss being able to force my Evo to roam though. That's one feature I would love built into this rom.

it should be a bit quicker...
it's an odexed rom.
there is good and bad in any kind of system... odexed or deodexed.
there is a big topic about more specific differences between odex and deodex somewhere in the forums.
because it is odexed that means you cant theme it right?

Hey man, sometimes you gotta leave well enough alone.. I went flash nuts on my DX, and obviously on my TP2 (WinLame), but with my TB I have really tried to tone it back a bit. These devices are getting more and more expensive and as cool as it is to constantly customize, take advantage of new features, etc... it's still just a phone. At some point it becomes an obsession and not jumping on GB like the masses, I have every right to be glad. It was worth a share anyway, I can't possibly be alone.

Same here. With my Droid 1 I flashed once every few days. Wasted so much time trying the latest and greatest. Now with my thunderbolt I'm trying to enjoy the phone and my life instead of spending 90% of my time flashing. I can't believe the latest GB radios are bricking phones. Just amazing... That said, I did have das bamf 2.0 for a week before going back to 1.6.3. Lol. Too addicting.

I got the GB bootloop. didn't think anything of it, just quickly restored BAMF, and no problems after that.
Then I read jcase's warning and reverted to VirusROM PDQ. I miss netflix, but I believe I'll wait for a more stable option. I can't afford another phone...

so you want other people to install buggy ROMs for you.
it doesn't work that way. ROMs are like ice cream. if you ask 1000 people to tell you which kind of ice cream you will like best, do you expect to find a comprehensive answer?
flash them and decide for yourself. personally, i'm on a miui build at the moment. but i might swap up for omega, or lite'ning tomorrow.
there is no best.
opinions are like a$$holes and elbows, everyone's got one...some people have 2. but mine shouldn't make a $hit to you.

No, you're half-correct and half-wrong.
"Your" is a possessive pronoun which indicates something that belongs to you.
i.e. Your grammar is poor.
"You're" is indeed a contraction meaning the abbreviated "you are".
i.e. You're wrong.
Not the same. See the difference? Quite significant.
And I think "flammer" is misspelled. You mean "flamer". You can note this by the red zig-zag line under the word when you type it, before you click "Submit Reply".

I had the Vivid, but that locked bootloader crap pissed me off, and the fact that you have to void your warranty to unlock it when Samsung lets you go all out? No thanks. I liked HTC for a week and a half, and then I was back to Samsung.

No, it's not. But he is a ****.
Why waste time writing a paragraph about how you don't want to or don't have time to help someone. I haven't tried any of the ROMs yet but from a LOT of reading I've done, the TPC (based on the Rodgers ROM without CIQ) seems the most interesting and the developer is very responsive. He seems to know what he's doing, unlike some posers here.
Some people collect baseball cards, some build model airplanes, some people flash their cell phones all day long. The latter group probably has experience with every rom that's been put out and have some insight into the various issues with all of them. Many are helpful people, however it makes a few of them better than other humans who are not worthy of their knowledge. But they enjoy telling everyone how much they know and won't tell anyone. Personally, that's usually a sign they really don't know much. I don't get it.

haha! No kidding.
Wondered if it was a joke at first, but clearly it's not.
an iphone? seriously?
Still kinda wondering if it was a joke, even though Im sure it wasnt.
I've used 3-4 year old , busted up android phones that work better than a *new* iphone.
Unbelievable. lol :cyclops:
Where did u get your jb build from ?

I pulled it from the noob thread in the development forum. I'm sitting in. bar right now so I can't really pull the link.
lol for the jelly bean noob thread in the development forum.
At the risk of sounding like a nOOb, I gotta ask... are you able to use flash with JB?

please tell me YOURE joking. I'm not biased. I like both OS's (own an iPhone 4S, SGS3, GNex, and iPad) But as someone stated, give credit where its due. iPhones are extremely smooth n responsive. You must have had a factory defected iPhone cuz I never held an Android phone that was as responsive as an iPhone. But I love how Android was able to give that iPhone like smoothness and even top it. Good job Google. Bravo

Agreed. I've only used an iPhone briefly and strongly prefer android but there's no denying how smooth iOS seems to run. Jellybean makes this phone run just as smooth and overall I think faster still. Virtually no delay on anything, it's really nice to use like this

I've seen posts and just general people talking and complaining about their iPhone being slow. They all must of had defective ones it seems. I never had a complaint about any of my Android phones.

No, I'm really not joking. lol
I have never "had" or will have an iphone, but i've held/played with 3 or 4 different ones that belonged to acquaintances and I wasnt impressed.
I didnt find them super "smooth", nor any more 'responsive' than my only current Android device (Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0)
I don't think all 3 or 4 were 'defective', do you?
I've heard complaints from numerous people telling me how slow/unresponsive/crappy their iphones are..
and my little bit of experience with them .. only strengthens the owners/users words.
I've even had a few friends give up their iphones (and ipods) and switch to android after they actually used an Android.
I don't know..
Kinda seems to me like the iphones that you guys claim are "smooth and fast and super responsive" are the "defective" ones.
Which would kind of fit for apple..
completely backasswards. lol

Exactly.
Going on my own experience with iphones, plus my friends & acquaintances experiences with them,
plus all the people/posts online complaining about their iphones...
Well, Yeah..
no thanks
Having owned 2 I phones myself along with any android Verizon phone this year or two I would say overall ui would have gone to iPhone until I used jellybean on my old nexus and now on this gs3..... unless u have owned an iphone for at least a month u shouldn't bash it... if u go into a store or use a friends for 5 min u will def be clueless as to what your trying to do and begin bashing because you are comparing it to something you have become real familiarized with.

I'm a little hesitant to flash JB just yet. Are there are any major bugs that haven't been worked out yet? I've heard of the MMS bug (not sure what it is) but are there others?
For all those comments regarding this iPhone vs android crap..... You do realize just how unequivocally seat of the pants and subjective all of it is? I can pick up 2 identical S3s and one will feel faster. I can drive to identical civics and of course mine is going to be faster because it's red. I wonder how many others read these posts and roll their eyes and question the intelligence of those writing them.
Keep it on task for once. JB is great. iOS 6 will be great. They are both phone eco systems with pluses and minuses. Stick or automatic. Total driver preference.
Now where are these CM10 builds!

I flashed the 8/16 awesome, slicker than snot on a door knob, clean as a whistle and fast as hell, but not a daily driver at least not for me, wonky data seemed to get better signal but dropped often, mild screen flickers every once and a while, had issues with netflix, nfl mobile, MMS worked but I had issues signing into xda for some reason, and after booting back up after a cwr backup I lost my data (IMEI, MEID read unknown) restored a backup and they were all back to normal......I think I sharted a little but luckily it was easily remedied.
I completely wiped everything even internal sd went back to bone stock, rooted then unlocked. Waited 10 minutes before I even touched the phone after flashing, said three hail Marries, and threw a horse shoe over my shoulder lol
I highly recommend wiping everything and going back to bone stock first for one it will rule out any ghosts in the closet that may come back to haunt you, and it also keeps the forums from clogging up with people asking for help getting rid of those ghosts, you're more of a control when you start from scratch and when you have problems you won't be using up the devs valuable time hunting down wild geese, that have nothing to do with CM.

That was my experience with the 8/16 build (used the latest CWR v6.0.1.2)
I'm going to play with it some more see if I can help weed out anymore bugs.
Shout out to the plasma ROM it has made my s3 sic. So thanks to Phil and all the people who helped make this ROM. Once I turned off ripple effect I've had 0 problems. The sound mods are out of the park. I can't post on his thread yet so I'm posting it here, Plus hopefully people looking for a great rom can read this.

its a lot like stock in some ways but it is merge of the galaxy s3 and the note 2 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. it has a lot of the note 2 features like the multi window and the ink on the lock screen. also it has the floating keyboard in multi window mode. you should give it a try it has the choice of the stock kernal or the custom kernal when you install it. its pretty awesome...its my daily driver...

I had the problem of ripple effect needing to be turned off, I somehow fixed it though, do you know why it's not working? I may be able to get it working for you guys, it's worth a try anyway,
Unlike previous phones, I haven't done much with custom ROMs on the S3, mostly because after de-bloating, I don't mind the stock install overmuch.
That pretty much changed for me when andybones released BoneStock. So far, I'm loving it! Enough to try to get my post count up for the first time in the 2+ years that I've been reading and lurking around here just so I can post in the Dev thread for it...

Thank you so much! This really means a lot. This is exactly what I was striving for when I released the ROM, something that is absolutely stock, but with the options in Aroma of just what is wanted, along with very light theming nothing overtop, and that's also how I wanted to go about the MODs as well. I did not want to over load it with stuff people don't' use or want so Aroma proved to be the perfect solution, although my scripting was zero at first and quite challenging but much like anything with Android for me, spend some time with it and fell in love.
Oh and please feel free to post in any of my threads to get your post count up, just post like , "good job" or something.
I would have, but you have to have 10 posts minimum to post anything in the dev threads. lol
I just flashed LiquidSmooth to try it out coming from ParanoidAndroid and now they just updated to 2.4
