When people say that video does not work and it is now working in Zeus rom or with stock kernel what are they referring to? I have tried many roms on my infuse and have used custom kernel since the day I got it and my you tube, and videos, and recording video all work fine. I don't understand what is not working for people. Video calling?
If it's working for you, fantastic. Please stop asking this question. You are going to piss alot of people off.

When the gingerbread leaks first came out only stock kernals would allow video (any video) since then we have gotten gingerbread bootloader and the devs have found the right files to make video work with the custom kernals I believe Dman is the one that got the video working it should be working for everyone now

Hey I have been having problems with 4g well running cm7 haven't seen it since I flashed test 2 and just flashed test 3 and still nothing do I need to flash the stock radio again with hboot or will that unroot me or is this a known problem, thanks guys!
It might be a good idea to go and ask this in the official CM7 thread. That's what it's there for.
Irk if I have enough posts yet lol ill try haha!
audio rec
Am I the only person who can't get audio recorded when trying to record a video? I honestly don't like the cm 7 camera and camcorder I like sense's.
This is a WELL known issue if you would read or even search the forum. Don't use the cm7 pre alpha if you want 4g. The dev has stated he has plenty of other things he wants to work on before 4g.

Hi,
this is my first post here but I'm by no way new to the forums - I've been browsing for months just trying to learn. recently I've been looking at upgrading from a GB rom to an ICS rom but have been but off by the fact there are a few comments saying that Skype doesn't work with ICS yet. These posts were a while ago and I was wondering if this has changed and anyone could reccomend a rom which it works with Skype?
Thanks for your help,
Alistair404
Skype was working for me yesterday when i tried it for the first time. Using virtuous inquisition ics rom 3.0.0. Call quality wasn't great but it worked, as did messaging. Didn't use the video calling though.

Hi,
Skype does work, but if you use video, the other person will see you in green.
This is due to the fact that there are issues with HTC drivers .
Hi,
thanks for the help
I guess I'll delay updating to ICS for now as functioning Skye video is quite important to me. I'm guessing once we get a RC leak or the final release Skype will be fully supported?
Thanks again for the help,

Hello all,
First of all, thanks to all the devs for making ROMs for us. I have tried almost everyone of your ROMs from caty, zeus, aeon, vagabond, revelation, and now I am on emancipation a1. Have been since 4.13.
I only noticed today that I couldn't play anymore avi's or mkv's. I could play youtube videos and videos that I recorded from my phone. I thought that the new lib files + flashing a DD kernel would fix it but it didn't. I also tried the lib files + infusion kernel but that didn't work either. What I also tried was go back to Zeus 6 and that's what did it. I could play avi's and mkv's again.
I was hoping that this was something that you already noticed but if not, let me know if you need more info. Is there a fix out there already for this that I missed? I was hoping you could work on this since I want to continue using Emancipation but I really need to play blue's clues episodes for the little people in the back of the car.
Thanks!
There will be an update to take care of this

Don't know if you checked but we updated the libs for download and everything works. To play avi use another player other than stock like mx player.

I gave my SK4G to my sone with a unknown ROM on it like 6 months back...
He is having issues as it did not include a browser, and has been be-otching about Firefox Mobile being a pain, and I tried it and he was right...
What ROM out these right now is completely working with youtube (don't need to downrev. Youtube version) and a broswer that has everything already plugged into "Mobile Networks", AND MMC working even w/ WiFi Calling when connected?
Please advise, as I would like to get him something usable...
- THE 86'd
I've been using Glorious Overdose V2 for about 6 months with good success. It comes with the stock browser and YouTube, both of which work. I added Naked Browser, which uses less resources. There's an updated V4, which I have not tried yet.
*drum roll*.....or you can try.....my neXus JB?....yeah, I know. Shameless plug.
Lol...this post reminds me of azcledel's thread from a few months ago about users jumping on here requesting the best rom.
No...in all seriousness. You've been here ever since ay0teddy began working on this device. You should know the answer to that question.
I'm surprised you took the time to post this instead of just installing Glorious Overdose v2.

No, I don't have the device in my hand anymore, my son does, so I don't have time to play with ROMs, as he needs to use it all the time...
If it was still mine, I would have ZERO issues writing a new ROM to it, but it is no longer mine, I just need a ROM that works with all the "important stuff" that kids need to do these days, you important, like youtube, MMS, and browsing pointlessly.
What ROMs do not currently work with youtube w/ HD checked, as when I was trying all of them, it was all of them?
Thanks!

I've tried all of them. From my experience, KJ2 based roms work best with YouTube w/ HD checked. For that kind of use, definitely go with Glorious Overdose v2 because the Jump key works flawlessly and since it's KJ2, YouTube plays perfectly.
If you want, check out ad_vitam! It's basically an updated version of Glorious Overdose v2 with Zeam Launcher and ICS binaries to increase responsiveness.

Glorious overdose would be 3rd then you have to scavenge for the rest

Was anyone ever able to remove the blasted swipe-screen before the lockscreen?

Sure. If you compile CM based on windxixi's source, the touchwiz is gone... along with things like bluetooth.
I have not used bluetooth since I discovered the quality of OEM Blackberry headsets...
For Infuse 4g does anyone know a ICS or preferable 4.1.2 Jelly Bean rom with working video camera (still photos are fine video capture is the issue). I have tried numerous Cyanogen, Paranoid Android, Liquid Smooth, roms for Jelly 4.1.2 and 4.2.2.
Always go back to Paranoid Android 4.1.2 pa_infuse4g-2.53-04NOV2012-152548 . Camera is fine but video capture is glitchy. Same for all the other roms I tried. Only other problem with the rom is that Wifi will stop working but a quick toggle will get it back. Otherwise smooth sailing.
All the 4.2.2 roms I have tried have been extremely buggy and laggy. I was wondering if there was a rom I overlooked running ICS or 4.1.2 that had working video. I put the video camera down to 480p like I was told on a couple of forums and it still crashes if you point it at a bright light.
If no modern roms have a working video camera, what rom should I be following that may resolve this issue. A dev that works primarily on stability vs adding features I can probably download from the app store or find a hack for on XDA. This is for my sister that likes to complain so it has to be stable. I really don't want any features just a modern non Gingerbread rom with a working video camera / and stills (she needs ICS VPN or later for work).
Thanks for any pointers in the right direction.
The video is as good as its gonna get for now for us. We don't have access to the correct drivers and code to get the video working 100% on ICS and jb. I am sure that one day one of the devs will crack it but I wouldn't hold my breath. Best thing is just do what you did and drop down in resolution and hope for the best. I've been having great luck with beanstalk, and Scott is an extreamly active dev working hard to make the ROM run smooth as well as add features. And if a feature hurts the stability he removed it.

The kernel in jt's cm9 rom over at rootzwiki allows for perfect 720p video recording.
It can be flashed over entropy's cm9 builds using sgs kernel flasher. WiFi doesn't work and perhaps other things as well...

That's interesting, was never aware Jr had once had working 720p...maybe someone could compare that kernel to the current cm9 kernel...and than try and port that fix to jb...

any luck for 720p recording in JB Rom?
There are two very fast and smooth ROMs for JB, Scott's Beanstalk and Andros11's Vanila rootbox for infuse, but unfortunatly video recording for 720P is still the issue, i am hoping some day some one will find the solution for it, Too much hope on our champ- Scott.
any luck tilll now >?
videocam illusion is not the solution, stock camera is much better than the app, its not snapy as 720p recording ,but its not looks good at all.
