Yep, You'd better chose one of stock Rom which has 4 files included then flash it with Odin, then you can return to your stock rom

Sensation 4G rooted but can't update .

Hello everyone ,my 4G is rooted but it gives me some update and i cant update it ....
what are the steps to update from
Android Ver.
2.3.4
Soft number 1.45.531.1
is it safe to update and will I be able to use the phone still rooted ...
Since you're Rooted you CANNOT do updates unless you flash stock recovery back but there's no point of updating since you can flash a Ice Cream Sandwich ROM which have much better battery, speed(on the new ones)Happy Flashing man
how to do this ???
Google "htc sensation RUU"
sent from my Sensation
ThaPirato talks about much better speed ,battery save .... this rom you suggest is not giving this options ,please point me to the best rom for speed and battery save.

tnx for reply and i wait for your answer
You should flash a bynch of roms and see what works for you. Not just what others say.

In my opinion, I would give the following ICS roms a try.
Elegancia - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429953
ARHD - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849
InsertCoin - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198684
I have tried all 3 and love them all, and they get regular updates. But at the end of the day, it's all down to personal opinion.
So just try a few different roms until you find one you like.
If you do a Nandroid backup (which you should always do anyway), you can always revert to your previous rom, if you don't like it.

Will the real ICS be needed for current awesoem ROMs?

I'm about to install the ICS 2.3.6... I realize it is more like an ICS emulator than the real ICS that was released (correct me if I am wrong)... now since there is all this rave about the real ICS, provided I did install the new ROM (still new to the ROM procedures so please help me understand):
1. Should/Can I launch the new ICS update (whenever it comes out)?
2. If and after I should/do, are all the procedures for installing all current ROMS still in place, i.e., after running the official ICS update, and I still like the custom ROM better, is the process exactly the same? I am thinking this is analogous to installing Vista to an XP and then going back to XP without a problem as long as the drive is formatted.
Thanks!
You wont be able to do the over the air update to the offical ICS since you are running a custom rom. You could however probably revert to your original rom and update that way (if you backed up your original stock rom). But after the ICS comes out it wont take long before people on this forum have ripped out all the garbage that came with samsung ICS and you will get a better product anyway.
there is no ice cream sandwich just yet for this phone, the rom your referring to i believe is seanzscreams ice cream sandwich rom which is gingerbread 2.3.5, themed to look like ice cream sandwich, and your going to have to revert to stock in order to do the OTA update when its released.....most likely towards the end of Q1

also i highly doubt your going to want to flash back to gingerbread when ice cream sandwich is launched for the phone, im currently running it on my test device the Samsung Captivate and its sweeeeeettt!!
Ya ya definitely.. the funny part is, once I install the new ROM here, even when ICS comes out, it'll be like, I'll wait for the new ROMs based on the real ICS... kinda makes me feel like I will miss out on the "genuine" ICS, but, maybe NOT, LOL...

I read somewhere that resetting to factory configuration solves some lag problems, but overall stock ICS rom is just that slow.
My xperia pro has a locked bootloader, so custom rom options are minimal, however I recommend Ice Cream Pureness, I use that one and it is waaaaay faster and smooth than stock ICS rom, I'm very happy with it.
There's also Jelly Sandwich... I've read it's even faster... gotta try that one next month maybe.
If your phone has an unlockable bootloader, your choices are way better... and faster since you can actually flash it a better kernel. Search through Arc S forum (xperia pro does not have own forum section so we're there)

There are some very nice and stable ICS ROMs for the A501. There is also a stable, but not quite complete Jelly Bean ROM which I am running. (JB 4.1.2) The two best places to get an ICS ROM and support is Moscow Desire's Evil Alex ROM (hosted on xda), which I understand is based on the stock Acer ICS ROM... however, you will need to upgrade your bootloader to an ICS bootloader. That can be scary for someone new to flashing. An alternative is TegraOwner's ROMs built by Thor and Digitex, which can run with your current Honeycomb bootloader or a custome ICS bootloader, if you wish.
I used to ron Moscow Desire's 3.2 ROM which was very nice. I never have tried his ICS ROMs. I pretty much stick with the TegraOwner's ROMs now because they are well fast, feature packed, stable, and well supported. If you want to run one of Thor's ROMs, you will need to upgrade your CWM Recovery to Touch Recovery v1.7.3. You can find this and all of Thor's stuff on the TegraOwner's site, as well as a lot of support in the forums at forums.tegraowners.com
The final and most stable ICS ROM for the Acer A500/A501 is the TegraOwners ICS v170. If you would like the newer Jelly Bean ROM based on CyanogenMod 10 and Thor and Digitex custom kernel, you can it and support here: forum.tegraowners.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=680
(You'll have to copy/paste the links into your browser since xda is preventing me from creating links due to my low post count)
The Jelly Bean ROM is real fast and stable. They are still working on gps, hdmi, and a few smaller issues. They will get them ironed out soon. Hope this helps.
