Nothing, he's leaving XDA but he will be on the BAMF forums from what I've read.

Maybe he, like others, has grown tired of the attitudes here. Xda is not the end all be all of forums, nor is it the entire android community. Perhaps he felt it was more conductive to the development of his roms to move to a forum where they do not allow things to be named after drugs and heinous crimes while banning people over mentioning god.

I find it so ironic when ppl talked smack about one dev "taking his toys (roms) & leaving the playground" and then another dev left xda with a device that was obtained with the help of xda donations. Sure, once you buy something you can do what you want with it, but that is quite literally "taking your toys & leaving the playground". I would have been so pissed if I had contributed to that.

Was it done so that he could dev for the thunderbolt or dev strictly for Xda. If the first, well he is doing that, simply on a site he has more control over

Or does it have to do with the fact most of the people here feel they are entitled to have it the way they want it or not at all, our are you just that lazy? As I said, once you buy something it's yours to do what you want with. Yes, you can find the dev elsewhere, and one can only assume he will continue developing for a device that was at least partially funded with donation money. But it's the principle of it all. Donations to devs *after* a software project has been released is one thing. Donations to a dev with the stated purpose of obtaining a device -- and the implied expectation of developing for the donating user base -- is quite a different matter. Maybe I'm the only one who sees it this way, but if I had donated to help buy a phone for someone & they left that forum, I would feel used & abandoned, and proly a little resentful.

This is a bit ridiculous. Where in the bounty thread did it say all ROMs/mods you develop for the Thunderbolt are to be exclusively released on XDA?
He is still working and if you are running a sense ROM right now then you are probably using at least one of his mods right now.
Just wait a bit and see what he has in store, and chill out about where the files will be released.

Generally when you advertise on a website for donations, you give that website the benefit of the doubt with your release/loyalty.
But no, just ask for donations through a proxy then leave the site.

Darkslide rom thread pulled?

Seems the Darkslide rom thread has been pulled. Maybe because of some weird XDA rule, but more likely all the Gummy homer's are behind it and/or Kejar complained again. Explanation please, mods...

Im not sure why it was pulled either but would like to know why..... I was under the impression this was a open discussion site..

What are you talking about? Gummy nor Kejar had anything to do with it. Here's a better idea. Ask the Dev's why they requested it removed. Retard. What makes your post even worse. Site being sensored
I know why it was pulled because if it shows a link that they do not approve of, they will have it pulled just like the thread I started on the voodoo kernel that was on another site. It appears that the site is not about what maybe the best out there for this phone etc but who wants to control what content. It is a sad day when an open discussion can not occur on what others may be seeing, using or finding. Watch out because freedom of speach may not be tolerated. I have sent Emails on these issues. Followup if you want the insanity stopped. I am sure this will also be pulled. Sorry guys.

It's called exclusivity, they are wanting to keep the ROM exclusive on their forums. It's a way of gaining hits. Most may not have noticed, but BBCrackman is the founder of the forums his ROM is posted on. Granted, the post linked to his, but he's the only one who knows the real reason it was pulled. As far as blaming Kejar, do yourself a favor and shove your pie hole farther up Denalo's poop shoot fan boi.

What, lol, you serious? I think your logic (or lack there of) is flawed. It was just a link on xda. Having an external link to their rom would only get them more hits and make the rom more known (which obviously is why the thread was pulled). Nice try homer.

Get off the Gummy bandwagon and get on the Charge bandwagon. Gummy is a good rom and I've never said it wasn't. I do however think that Darkslide is the best rom out at the moment. Just seems like all the negative comments about Darkslide came from poster's with "Gummycharged" in their signatures, which, along with the fact it was pulled makes the Gummy crowd as a whole seem petty and childish.

Being a crybaby. Not seeking to learn.

Curious about why the Thunderbolt has at least a beta miui port and we're still stuck. I thought it was because we have no RIL in source for the 4G radio, so is that something they've been leaked/reverse engineered and we haven't?
To be upfront: By asking this question I AM indeed implying that the charge devs suck, I didn't search before posting, I expect ICS ported tomorrow, and that I believe I deserve to be served breakfast in bed. Thank you.

We clearly need to organize an OCCUPY DEVELOPERS organization and set up a tent city on the front lawns of these developers. Maybe then they'll realize that we want results.
99% of us aren't given the gifts of computer programming, and the 1% that do think they can just rule the XDA community with an iron fist.
We are the 99% who don't know what ADB is or how to use it. We disagree that the developers should have all the power. I wouldn't recognize linux of it politely introduced itself with a handshake and a smile. ODIN package... What is that? We refuse to read a single post in the thread before we complain and ask a question that had clearly been answered as recently as ten seconds ago because the world is all about us. And if a developer overlooks that one meaningless feature that I alone liked, it's my right to spam his thread with that demand instead of figuring it out for myself.
We can only bring about change by organizing and living in a shanty-town. And if the MODS at XDA use pepper-ban spray and move threads it will only make our cause stronger.

I think we should organize an OCCUPY MIUI movement and force them into dev'ing for our phone too. That way we can overtake their source code and all will be well in the Charge world!

I have switched over to Sprint and nabbed a SGS2 Epic Touch 4g. I jus would like to thank everyone on the G2X forums, the trolls, the DEVS, and the people who actually help one another by directing them to the right links to make their G2X experience awesome and jus right for them.
P.S I'm really missing my G2X running Miui on Faux. Time for me to move over to the Epic 4G Touch page. But G2X will remain in my Favorites.

You're right. People DO dumb **** all the time...like insinuate that ICS will keep a device relevant after it's out of date.
Got my SGSII today, as well. The TMo version, but nonetheless. A SUBSTANTIAL upgrade.

In my opinion, this wasn't a smart decision, especially considering the fact that the GSIII should be announced soon... You could've held off for a little bit longer!

Trying to stay on the top of the technology curve with Android is impossible unless you have plenty of money to burn. I try to get a year or 18 months then upgrade. ICS is definitely keeping me with the G2x for the time being.

Pretty naive for you to say that. You'd be a fool to even think the G2x is remotely better than the SGS2.
Better processor, more RAM, bigger/better screen, and most importantly, actual support from Samsung as opposed to the lack there of from LG.

I am sorry but I don't know what opinion I stated as a fact.
The point is that we have devs spending their free time building roms, tweaks, fixes, themes and everything else under the sun... and all people say is "what about ics?" How many times has this question been answered by devs themselves. I just looked in 5 threads and saw the answer 3 times. Its frustrating that nobody is ever happy with what they have and instead make posts about how we are a disgrace because we don't have ics. If you took time to read and understand there would never be a need for these topics.
Now perhaps I was a bit harsh but its getting ridiculous. My post was not meant to incite drama. It was meant to tell people to be grateful with what they have. In my opinion (not a fact since you can't tell the difference) that is more of a solution to the problem than just answering every thread the exact same way. This entire thread had absolutely no benefit to the community in anyway shape or form.

That was just asking for somebody to respond. But instead of just posting dang you guys should be grateful for what you have. Not that people make you sick. That just rubs me wrong and IMO you owe the community a apology for that. That was rude crude and unnecessary.

Y'all might want to have one of your devs look into porting a rom from the Vibrant (ics from 2.2 sources) yall have 2.3x sources and drivers which are handled very similarly in 4.x.x. One of your devs would have to make some alterations to existing Vibrant kernels since the GPS and Ramdisk and file directories are a bit different by comparison. Keymapping should be more or less the same and as i understand it yall have figured out how to get CWM running. Basically all yall would need to do is recompile an ICS kernel for yall's device (no easy task) n then use the framework and other files from a vibrant rom. Ehhh it is what it is guys. I'm sure you all knew what you'd be getting into before buying this phone. Can't expect much from it when its basically just a Vibrants cousin. Although I do appluad the little devs that have worked hard on this. But I think the same thing is happening to the Amaze. Great phone just like this, but it was just a Sensation cousin. That's why its always best to get the flasgship, and not its slightly bettter predecessor. That's why the SGS2 or 3 is what you should get, as well as the upcoming One X.

I didn't really know this would happen but I'm still greatful for what we have. This was my first android phone and the best option at the time. I had no choice since my phone was broken and I really needed one.
