Having issues connecting the Gio via USB, error that i am getting is "USB Device is Not Recognized"
Debug checked or not has not helped. 2 Windows 7 64bit and 1 windows 7 32bit. I have ran the Kies installed the USB drivers for Samsung. I have tried 3 different USB that work with the Galaxy S.
I am not receiving any "USB notification" on my phone, the only USB settings on the phone is debug, and Mock locations.
I got this phone from Hong Kong, so i dowloaded the Kies from the samsung/hk site.
Does anyone know of a app or anything to put on my sd card to get the notification information on the phone or usb settings on the phone.?
It is running 2.2 froyo stock samsung, not rooted. Any other information please don't hesitate.
Use Kies software and install driver from tools menu first , after that you will able to sync or being recognized through usb driver.
cheers
Turned out the Mainboard was faulty, just got it back from over seas the other day! Now everything is peachy!

*bump* any news?
lol
are you fools or what? He mentioned that he has kies and all the drivers installed but some of you write to do it.
By the way i have the same problem. When i connect my Gio to PC nothing happens. Only the phone is charging but no usb mode popup appears like it used to be earlier. The pc doesnt show anything. I tried to connect with 2 PCs and they both have kies but no reaction. And the kies is ****ing stupid with all the updates that dont work n s**t. Its the phones fault for sure because the sd card works. I think it happened after the 2.3.4 update. I thought that updating to 2.3.5 would fix it but i dont have it yet available in my country.
I tried connecting my phone to my laptop today and it said installing drivers. It was working yesterday but today for some reason it was trying to install drivers again. It failed, so I downloaded the LG drivers and installed them but my laptop still tries to install the drivers and fails.
I already tried uninstalling the drivers and installing them again.
This is what it says under Device Status
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
EDIT: I got it working by turning on USB Debugging mode.

by any chance did you ever figure this out? I flashed my g2x to hellfire ICS 4.0.4 and while I once was able to get the drivers to work, now I get the same error This device cannot start.
i have usb debugging and unknown sources enabled, but mass storage on my phone is disabled. is that related?
When i was using gingerbread 2.3.4, my nexus s is not connecting to pc. pc is not taking is driver. i tried so much by some adb driver and also Samsung's latest drivers. but still it is not connecting.
And also having this problem, i make a stupidity by upgrading to the official ics 4.0.3.
In ics 4.0.3 in bootloader mode it is showing black screen and still not connecting to pc. When i connect it shows as unknown device. And i update driver is takes as usb input device or HID-compliant consumer control device.
In 2.3.4 in have installed clockwork recovery mode 5.0.1.0.
Ics 4.0.3 can't be root because of this problem..
Now i cant do any recovery without root bcoz it needs recovery mode. And cant connect to pc to act fastboot.
Plz give me some suggestions.
I have a Sprint Nexus S 4G and a Samsung Galaxy Nexus Verizon. I absolutely cannot get the USB drivers working on Windows 7 64 ever since I upgraded both to Jelly Bean 4.1.1.
I have installed the latest Google USB Drivers (revision 7). I have also tried to find drivers directly on Samsungs website. I found download pages for both phones but it only listed manuals for download. No drivers.
I have also installed this: ADB/FB/APX Naked Driver: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766220
When either phone is plugged in, I get the taskbar popup saying that the USB Device was not Recognized. I can see in the Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus controllers that "Unknown Device" is there, with a yellow exclamation mark. It goes away when I unplug the phone, so this is what shows up for either phone when I plug them in.
I have right-clicked the device in the Device Manager and went Properties > Driver > Uninstall and remove the device's driver. Then re-plugged in the device, then going back to Device Manager > Unknown Device > Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software and then pointed it to either the Google USB Driver or the Naked Drivers from above. Both result in the message:
Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date. Unknown Device.
I have restarted my computer. There are no other devices in the device manager with exclamation marks. I have tried multiple USB ports.
I used to have the drivers working fine a couple months ago when I was running Ice Cream Sandwich.
Does anyone have any clue what I should do next?

If you would read my original post you will see that I have two phones: A Nexus S Sprint 4G and a Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I have the same problem with both phones. I am guessing I have a driver issue, so if I solve it for one it will probably solve it for the other.
Any help or direction you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Try the pda net software by June fabrics worked for me on win xp and Windows 7 x64

Hey there, I'm having problem connecting device to Computer... I have tried different data cables and OS... I thought that the problem is with the drivers but I wad wrong... I think that the problem I with software of my mobile... I have an old version of HTC Inspire 4G which have about 1 GB internal memory and 601 MB of RAM and Android 2.3.5 running on it... I updated my phone by a dial code which was MAY BE *#*#462#*#* ... The new version of HTC Inspire 4G has 3 GB internal memory... when I connect my device to Computer, it shows the error that The Device is not recognized, and my phone only do charging when connected to Computer... I also noticed that when I connect phone with AC adaptor to charge, it shows "Charging (AC)" status in Settings >> About Phone >> Battery Status... and when I connect my device to Computer, it shows the "Charging (USB)" status... someone told me that the problem is with the charging port so I changed that port tomorrow but the problem is still the same... also note that I have also tried HTC sync which installs drivers automatically but it also didn't work... other 3rd party softwares which install drivers were also of no use... now you may think that I haven't tried by changing "Connect to PC" settings, but I have tried all of these also... I also have tried connecting to Computer running on Ubuntu Linux, but it doesn't respond... at the last, I came with the conclusion that the phone's software has the problem... it recognises when I connect my phone to Computer but I don't connect as a Disc Drive or to HTC sync... may be the solution will be to repair my phone's OS... but it is not rooted and bootloader is also locked... I think that an Android Developer will answer this correctly... thanks in advance and sorry of my bad English...
