[Q] ICS ROM with functional STK (SIM TOOLKIT) - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just wondering what exactly does STK to work in the ROMS. I have tried all ICS ROMS, mainly AOSP built ROMS and for example in AOSP+ ROM is STK working (after adding STK.apk in system/app) but in NEXUSBEAM not (also built from AOSP). I really like to use MIUI but the chinese do not support STK while it is not so important for them as for us in Europe! So can anybody explain me what is making STK to work in ROMS? Is it any driver or what? So can I add this to any ROM, MIUI?
Thanx for help and explanation.

would it be possible to install the hero camera to any ROM?

Im sure many people ask themselves this same question, but I still didnt find any answer.
I have a favourite ROM, but it uses the official camera from vodafone's rom, and I prefer the camera from the roger's or hero's version. so does anybody know if it would be possible to install the camera in my custom rom?
Thanks.

possible to port this rom

i know its for the desire which has latest specs? and it owns our magics but is it possible to port this over and remove stuff which wont function on our magics? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712615
Dude that's an AOSP Froyo ROM. We already have that, and even better (as some may think) - CM6.

ANDROID (stock) CONTACTS

I'd like to install Android Contacts instead of (or plus) HTC Contacts.
I'v tryed to install a Contacts.apk (from Desire (not S) ROM "Ginger Villain 2.1" ), but it won't install (it worked for Gallery3Dm.apk ).
anyone got an idea ?
PS: my phone is not rooted and s-ON
thanks
since this is a sense rom you are running it is not possible to use the stock android apps without root.
the stock android contacts app is included in our system folder, but the sense contact app is a kind of overlay for the stock app. it´s based in the sense framework.
that means even with root it is very difficult to use stock apps instead of the sense counterpart.
i think it is easier to build a AOSP-based ROM than building a "de-sensed" ROM based on a sense ROM.

[Q] Cleanest Moto G AOSP ROM?

Hello, everyone!
Right now I'm running Tweaky One ROM without practically any mods, because I prefer to use the Xposed Framework to personalize my Android.
Now, I would really, really like to try the kernels available. But most of them are made only for AOSP ROMs. But I don't want to run CyanogenMod, Paranoid Android or any other modified AOSP ROM. I like Tweaky One ROM because how clean it is, but it based on stock ROM.
So, is there are a "clean" AOSP ROM for our Moto G?
Thanks for your help!
Honestly, CyanogenMod is cleaner than the stock ROM. Also, CM+ART runtime= Win. (Art breaks xposed though)
Obviously the Google Play Edition variant of stock firmware IS and always will be the cleanest
Thanks for the answers!
I like CM, but I really want to use some of the features on Gravity Box. And because both it and CM have features that overlap, I think it will be having more than I want on my cellphone.
And the strange thing with GPE is that the custom kernels won't work with it, as it seems to count as a "stock" ROM rather than a "AOSP" ROM.
Any other suggestions?
You could use Faux123 kernel on stock

Click to collapse
I've tried a lot of different custom roms and always come back to the stock with a custom kernel, it is the best imo

GPS Help on AOSP ROMs

GPS not working on your AOSP ROM?
1) Install a sense ROM, open up a GPS app (like GPS Status & Toolbox/Maps) and let it find your location. De-bloated stock ROM's work too.
2) Reinstall your favorite AOSP ROM and test out GPS!
