He's asking what version. You should have v3.2.0.0 which was specially developed for Xoom to access Micro sdcard. If you use Rom Manager to boot into recovery, it may have tricked you into updating to a newer version of CWM recovery which only uses internal storage and isn't completely compatible.

thats whats happened :/ what a douch i am, i have v4.0.0.4, anyway i can downgrade? thanks

Just reflash the image file through fastboot or the zip file from your internal "sdcard" if possible. Remember not to flash a zip file through fastboot.

[Q] Help, Removing PMG off SD

My phone is stuck on bootloops now after newest firmware flash,
I can get into bootloader but since I have the PMG on the SD card it asks for update which doesnt let me get into recovery mode.
How do I remove it off the sd card if the phone is bootlooping?
or get into recovery?
remove sdcard, boot into recovery, put sdcard back in go to mount as usb storage
then delete and add rom then flash new rom

[Q]

So I realize I did something stupid and I'm hoping I can fix it. I was in the process of rooting and installing a new ROM on my brothers phone. I made it S-off, and I didn't want clockwork recovery so I just skipped that. I updated the firmware so I can put an ICS ROM on it and now it's stuck in a bootloop I would imagine because there is no recovery on there. Can I fix this somehow? How do I install a Recovery when I don't have a recovery?
Thanks

you can install recovery from bootloader/fastboot and then rom from the recovery
here follow the post #2 from this guide to do that
What about download mode aka odin mode

download mode is not required for HTC phones.. we can flash stuff from bootloader
to go to bootloader
power off phone then remove battery ,reinsert it ..then hold power + volume down button ..will take you to bootloader ..there you can flash the recovery ..and a lot

So I downloaded the pg58img file and put it on the root of my SD card. went into bootloader and it saw the file but for some reason didn't give me the option to install anything. Any idea why or what I did wrong?

No. RUU is a last option.
This is way too simple for that.

Just need to flash a recovery; preferably 4ext. (only step 2 from this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25587345)
Then nandroid backup from recovery (main menu of 4ext > Backup | Restore > Backup)
Then put an ICS ROM on SD Card using the Toggle USB Storage" option (main menu of 4ext > Toggle USB Storage)
Then format all partitions except SD Card from recovery (main menu of 4ext > Format | Wipe > Format all partitions (except SD Card) )
Then flash the ICS ROM from the recovery (main menu of 4ext > Install zip > Choose zip from SD Card).
Simple as that.

OK so do you have a working ROM and just can't mount with that rom? Or are you in a boot loop and can't mount in recovery? What recovery are you using?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium

hi!
it seems like I had the same problem some time ago after flashing CM10...
my solution: flash a recovery img with fastboot where u can access your internal sd via the usb cable. format it, done. I use the Team Win Recovery v2.3.3.0 - I hope u can do that with v2.1.7 too. After formatting the sd card, I flashed a new ROM (ViperOneS in my case) and everything worked fine again.

You need to flash stock recovery and then factory reset in bootloader.

Well i flashed it, but it didnt work. Then i tried to adb push it to /data, but the zips didnts install. I got an error. So the phone still freezes at the "HTC quietly brilliant screen."
So when i try to flash a stock it says "FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
What did you try to push to /data?
If my memory isnt failing me, /data isnt accessable by ADB by default (needs ro.secure=0 in default.prop).
Whatever you pushed, push it to /sdcard instead.

ADB push worked, the zip when through, but i just couldnt install it. I'm trying it now again to see if it works this time. and then im going to try to push it to /sdcard, but since its not in im not sure if it will detect it But i will try it right after i push it to /data/sdcard
Edit: Didnt work! im trying to push to /sdcard now.
Edit2: Well i tried to flash to /sdcard but the file did not show up
Edit3: So i got the file onto my phone, but it will not install because /sdcard and /cache will not mount. :'(

Can you flash a different recovery? - That's what I would try first, then make shure that the SD is mountable. I remember not being able to install a ROM without a working SD...

If you haven't tried this already,
flash the stock recovery
bootloader: "clear storage"
Stock recovery will usually restore the sdcard and format it properly.
!!!This will erase your internal memory but it usually fixes the basic sdcard issues,

I'm on 44S firmware and want to flash CM12 so I have unlocked the bootloader, installed Philz Recovery 6.59.1 and wiped cache/dalvik and install new ROM option but the recovery can't seem to find the .zip files I put on the phone?

I'd advise you to use TWRP instead of Philz
I agree, use TWRP recovery instead, it's much better.

Which version of TWRP, unofficial or bacon?
Since I've wiped cache/dalvik and install new ROM option, the .zip files should remain on my phone memory?
