touchscreen does not respond after screen turns off - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

help !
touchscreen not responding when i unlock the phone. (e.g. screen is off then i press power ket/home key then when in lock screen nothing happens when i touch). i've already reflashed a dozen times to stock rom. it even happens in initial device set-up (wifi packet data etc) when screen auto locks.
it only happens when unlocking the screen. when i leave it on, play games, text, use internet, the screen always responds no problem.
update!
i found that if i charge it or plug a usb cable onto it, the screen responds again. now that's crappy. my phone turned into a wired device to work.

You tried to flash with another firmware?

yes, kpe, kph, kpq, even the buggy kp9.
i also went to froyo kb3, kb2, etc.
touchscreen only works in kph. and only when it's plugged into usb. weird.
i have a feeling it has something to do with the tsm parts/edt tweaks. the lock screen delay and timeout things.

[Q] Touchscreen not responding - stuck TF101 tablet - what can I try?

OK - since the recent ota upgrade to ICS we've been having a few problems with the table touchscreen freezing - unfortunately now it seems to have got stuck almost all the time. Just at the moment, it is not responding at all to touch - just displays the lock screen when powered on, and then times out a little while later to black. I have to push power to get it back on - but the touch screen simply won't respond to unlock it. So far I have tried:
Holding down power until restarts - no effect - reboots still locked.
Using Vol-Down power on and doing factory reset - no effect - reboots into android setup screen touchscreen not working.
Draining power until it won't turn on. Then recharged. This worked! However...
After going through the setup process, resintalling apps etc., I hit the power button to go into standby. I then thought I'd go straight back in, but as soon as I hit the power button again, it wouldn't respond! Left it charging for a couple of hours, and turned on, this time got in - but same again - hitting the power button and coming straight back in, it's not responding again.
So I'm now back with a fully charged tablet that won't respond to touch at all. - perhaps if I leave it a few hours it might respond again - until it goes into standby!? The device is fully stock with WW_epad-9.2.1.11-20120221 (according to the screen at boot up when you hold down vol-d).
Is this likely to be software or hardware related? Do I need to send it for repair/replacement, or is there something else I can try first? Any help much appreciated. (Oh - I don't have external keyboard btw - so without screen it's pretty limited what i can do!)
Cheers,
Colin.
I have already encountered the same problem but with a cutom rom. to find my touch, I had to do a full wipe and new intallation.
I did full wipe using the Power/Vol-D but the touch screen didn't start working again until I let the battery completely drain.
Then I reinstalled everything (screen was working to begin with), however after I'd set everything up and reinstalled all my apps it stopped again.
Yesterday I managed to get an ota update to 9.2.1.17 (it started working for a short time). But then aftger rebooting again, it stopped again.
This morning it is working again, and I have uninstalled all my apps - just the core stuff on there now. For the moment it appears to be working (which is the longest for a while!) - going to see if it stops again while there aren't any extra apps installed...

Weirdest display issue

Hey guys,
I have a really strange display issue with my Galaxy R.
I'm on CM10.1 nightly and already tried different nightlies with factory reset and wipe data/cache.
If the phone is not used for a while (sometimes even after 30 minutes), meaning it is on and screen is off, the display won't turn on anymore.
So I press the power button and the capacitive buttons light up, but the screen stays completely black.
Today I noticed that I can even use the touch screen and I could hear all sounds, I even managed to open the dialer and start typing blindly and it would make the dial sounds.
But whatever I try, the screen won't turn on.
Also, it seems when I'm connected to a charger and/or connected to wifi, this problem doesn't seem to occur.
Then I have no choice but to remove the battery, but then often I can't even start the phone.
Sometimes it takes some minutes, sometimes a really long time until I can start it again.
Usually the battery isn't drained, this only happened once.
This occurs after I dropped the phone twice, so it might be related to that.
(Though before I've also dropped it and this never happened.)
Any ideas?
flash stock ics and see if problem persists.
once i flashed a custom rom and faced this issue, reverted to stock and now my device is running with zero issues.

I tried to find the stock rom online, but all links seem to be down.
Do you know where I can get it?

You need to register and then download from here.
Thanks for that, I installed newest stock rom.
Could boot fine, set up the phone, put it to the side.
One hour later I checked it - same problem again.
Capacitive buttons flaring up, screen not.

Then you should visit SSC. They can only repair your device.

[Q] HELP: screen unresponsive when woken up ONLY

This issue make absolutely no sense to me, and only started yesterday.
First, I am stock, unrooted, no mods, no crazy sideloaded apps, just a good old Nexus 5.
When I go to wake the phone, I have noticed that the lock screen is 100% unresponsive. I cannot enter a pattern lock. I then switched to a PIN lock, thinking maybe there was an issue with the pattern. Again, unresponsive screen. So I took my screen lock off completely, thinking there is maybe an issue with the lock screen in general. Again, even with no lock screen, I cannot swipe screens, open apps, nothing. This also includes the soft keys at the bottom.
I decide to factory reset my phone. I update only my Google apps, and again notice the same issue. The screen is totally unresponsive, but then 2 white lines will flash at the top, and the screen will work.
Once those white lines flash, the screen is completely responsive like normal, there are no other issues until the phone goes to sleep again. Sometimes the little lines flash 2 seconds after waking up, sometimes 30 seconds, sometimes I have to hard reset the phone.
I also am linking to a YouTube video that I recorded of the issue in case I am not making sense.
So can anyone explain this to me? What could cause this issue on a phone that has never been rooted or flashed or anything?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Weird. Issue. Maybe you should stick everything from your sd to your pc.
And flash a factory image from fresh install from here - https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images - if you're lucky the drivers maybe corrupt and not the hardware
Sent from my Android 5.0 Nexus 5
Could also be a loose connection. Maybe the flex cable to from your screen wiggled its way out a bit. I've never seen that before on any phone. I'd back everything up and flash a factory image. If the issue persists, contact Google and see if you can RMA the device.

Touchscreen consistently (and completely) unresponsive on wake up

Hi guys,
This problem has me stumped, so I figured I'd consult the hive mind.
The touchscreen works fine after the phone is turned on - be that for a continuous period of 30 seconds or 30 minutes. However, if/when it goes to sleep, the touchscreen becomes completely unresponsive on wake up. The screen turns on, rotates, and the physical buttons work fine. I figure no touch input is acknowledged, because if I tap the screen after it dims nothing happens; but if I press a physical button, then full brightness is restored.
I have been looking around for a solution for some time, but none of the three I found appear to be working, ie:
- Ensuring the Wi-Fi's set to be permanently on (no change on any of the settings)
- Changing the ROM (problem appeared in stock ROM, it now sports LineageOS)
- Changing the digitizer (problem is the same on old or salvaged screen)
At this point, I am not sure what else I can try. Any ideas would be most welcome.
Maybe charger? Some cables/chargers make touch panel go crazy (it used to happen to me with bad chargers) so try to change charger and USB cable.

Screen went blank out of nowhere (it is not broken or damaged).

I was using my phone like any other day and just like that the screen went blank. The phone itself is functioning as it should, notification LED blinks properly, vibration is working and when rebooting, the whole REDMI and MIUI animation shows up (with the screen fully functioning) but once the boot ends, PUFF, gone blank again. Fastboot also shows the bunny messing with the android, so it is not a faulty screen but some glitch with the ROM (stock fully updated) I guess.
Any insights on this particular issue without the need of wiping it clean?
PS: the MI suite says it is not compatible with the phone... so I'm super anxious about losing all my data.
PPS: since the screen isn't working I can't change from CHARGE ONLY to USB FILE TRANSFER, is there a way?
I have dropped the phone once, and the screen wasn't working.
Luckily I changed the battery before, so it was easy to open the back of the phone.
After the drop, the screen connector got disconnected somehow.
So after connecting it, it still working fine.
Check the connection if you can, and the new screen is only $20.
Not a hardware issue I think. He cried his system UI (user interface). Try factory resetting in stock recovery.
