Hi guys, first post since visiting the forums.
I was previously running arhd 5.1.2 then upgraded to 6.0.0. both have been running without a problem, but I have found 6.0.0 to be faster and smoother.
The only problem I'm having since upgrading is a very specific and strange problem.
I upgraded the firmware to the latest one including the radio. The one recommended on the download page for 6.0.0. I ran superwipe and then installed 6.0.0.
My problem is that whenever I play a specific song on my phone it restarts the phone. I haven't tried all songs but out of probably 100 of my 400+ songs this is the only song that does it. I have downloaded the song again from a different source and it is still doing it.
if I launch the mp3 from es file explorer and play it in the default music player it is fine.
Scratching my head at the moment, also tried fixing file permissions and checking file integrity from ext4 recovery. Still no go for this particular MP3.
Thanks for helping out
Did you install the firmware 1.23.00000 and superwipe before flashing?
Yes I've upgraded the firmware, as per the link for the recommended firmware on the download page for 6.0.0. prior to flashing any ROM I always run superwipe

I flashed with "VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1". I'm impressed how everything works smooth and great. Market downloads and installs if I connect to google talk first.
The adobe flash player downloads but cannot install, it gives : "package file is invalid". Other apps installs.
I tried the suggestions that I found in the forum, including rebooting, reseting trying to install from file, trying to install different versions 10.1 10.2 or 10.3 without any luck.
Still the same error. Before trying to flash it again, I wanted to as if anybody have a suggestion ?
thanks in advance.
i also have the same problem. went to download flash player 10.3 from android market, for my htc wildfire. it just wont install
Phoned HTC up and they said it means the device dosent support flash
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
Use Task Manager, or 'Manage Application', or Uninstaller, etc . . . to check and uninstall any flash player version that was already installed in/with the rom. Then download and install a later version of your choice. I had to do it once before. Hope that it would be the same in your cases.
Dave,
I installed & used PlayerPro Plus musicplayer. Then I used AudioTagger (both from Market). Now PlayerPro and stock player claim my music files (mp3, wma and m4a) are not compatible. Both say 'Sorry cannot play this type of audio file'
I re-installed all my music (and loaded more) without using AudioTagger, but the players show the files' id3 tag info, etc, but just won't play them.
Help.
I run ICS 4.0.3 (updated using stock recovery) not rooted. Now I've got Clockwork Recovery. My sdcard is 32Gb.
Re-installing PlayerPro Plus didn't help.
Have I lost codecs?
Double-flash ROM
I had tried to install a custom ROM (from TabletRepublic))
but only once. I didn't notice it should be flashed twice. So I did and now all is well.
Steven
Not working again
I have since updated to version 0.7 of the custom ROM.
I have flashed it several times but music files won't play.
Everything else is working well.
Any suggestions?
Hi, when ever I flash codename android on my NS i9023 I don't find the music player..
Iv'e already flashed the Gapps and nothing.
I've even downloaded a file explorer and tried to open a .mp3 file and it said that it can't find the app...
any help??
Thanks
If you're looking for Google play music i think it's not included in Gapps but you can download it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533816
Or you can pretty much install any player from the market that will do the same.
Hi everybody. I just moved over here from the Droid X2 crowd. I kept my S3 stock for a grand total of maybe a week and a half before I decided to root it, and then I discovered TTS no longer worked. Here is what I've done:
Followed droidstyle's guide to rooting, unlocking (using 1.2), and installing CWM
Backed up IMEI using WildZontar's methods A & B
Nandroid backup (what is this1970 nonsense?)
Installed AOKP using aokp_d2vzw_jb_build-5.zip & gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip (md5 confirmed) following installation instruction
Discover that TTS does not work. It looks like all voice files are installed, but nothing happens when I press Listen to an Example. No sound or error. For both Google and Pico.
(Also, Talk was a little wonky)
Installed PA using pa_d2vzw-2.50-22OCT2012-211214.zip & gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip again (md5 confirmed) following installation instruction
Same thing. No TTS
Nandroid back to rooted. TTS is fine here
Reinstall AOKP from here. Nope, still no TTS
More info on my phone:
Baseband version: I535VRLG7
Kernel: 3.0.8-993945-user
Build number: IMM76D.I545VRALG7
Looking into it, I don't see anyone else having the same trouble recently. When JB first came out, people experienced the same problem because of a missing file - system\lib\libpatts_engine_jni_api.so - which wasn't included in ICS GAPPS. But current JB GAPPS packages have this file.
That isn't my culprit. I've also tried using the old gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip, but nada. I'm out of ideas. Please help, xda!
Figured it out. This is a known problem apparently, but it no one mentioned it's effect on TTS. The solution was to adjust volume to max, then min, then to whatever you want. This issue also affects alarms and notifications, apparently.
Hello Everyone,
First time post. I scoured through numerous posts about the Play Store unable to find one related to mine. I will give as much detail as I can. Pretty simple if you are savy with rooting.
Phone: HTC Evo 4G
ROM Installed: MazWoz-Evo-B6 (Jellybean
GoogleApps Version: gapps-JB-20121124
Have attempted other ROMS and gapps versions. Just a few. But enough to know I must be missing a step or it is just broken and no one has it running :S. I have cleared all the cache, both the Play Store app cache and in Recovery mode Cache's. I just started into this Rooting last night. Very comfortable installing different ROMS. But why is the Play Store broken on each one? I have tried installing the ROM, Booting up, shutting down and than installing Gapps. Along with installing Gapps right after the Rom install. I clear everything for fresh install of both. It is getting me no where and the internet is full of all kinds of topics related to the Play Store. But nothing that fixes this issue.
I can not get connected to the Google Play Store. Using an existing google account to log in with, it never makes it into the store. But using this step does setup the email for the phone. Maybe that will help pinpoint an idea to you guru's. I hope someone can help.
Thanks!

first thing. ensure that your rom download and gapps download are both good downloads and not corrupt. even partially corrupt files can flash unless you used md5 checksums. But since each rom is having a problem... really looks like your gapps might be the problem...
thats something to check at least...
Play Store DB reset

Android's play store is oddly configured. Depending on your rom's tweaks, a variety of things can cause playstore issues including: LCD Density (via /system/build.prop), ro.product.model= (via /system/build.prop), ro.product.manufacturer= (via /system/build.prop), and lastly the Google Play Database file.
Sorry I can't remember the location of this file, but basically on our phones there is a database file, I believe an SQL DB. If you have lots of problems, you can try to close google play, erase cache/data to the app, then rename the db file to **OriginalNameOfFile**.BAK
open google play, and it should be fixed
