anybody know why?

Since to my knowlage there is no indication that the GPU has its own dedicated RAM my guess is 128mb is allocated for the GPU.

What do you mean by this? You are unhappy with how much free ram you have? This isn't always a bad thing.
why not?why isn't a bad thing?

More ram or cpu

Hey man which is better 800 mhz with 256 mb ram or 600 mhz with 512 mb ram for gaming.

Depends on the game. But try over clocking it with max ram, cause some games like shadow gun need a lot of ram and high CPU

But which one will be more good. I mean what is the work of cpu and ram in gaming and which one is more important and also tell me that gpu really matters for gaming or its just ram and cpu.

Both are very important you need a good CPU gpu and a good amount of ram. Depends on the game you what to play
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I would pick more ram, because you might be able to overclock your cpu.

If you are choosing between two phones with these specs, go for RAM.
Since Phone A has 800mhz and 256 ram
And Phone B has 600mhz and 512 ram
Phone B has 200% ram and 75% clock speed compared to phone A, whereas Phone A compared to B is 133% clock speed and 50% ram
Getting a little mathematical

well most phones that are given free today dont have those low specs so im guessing you can have a much better deal. unless youre buying with no contract.
I am asking this because i am confused between xperia u and galaxy ace2. Here are the specs.
Ga2. Cpu=800mhz
Ram= 768mb
Gpu= mali400 mp
Xperia u cpu=1ghz
Ram= 512mb
Gpu= mali400mp
Both are dual core but the screen size of ga2 is bigger.

@OP, your specs listed aren't the same specs as Xperia U and Ace 2, why make it more complicated?
Actually, you could have flat out asked "is Xperia u or Galaxy Ace 2 better for gaming?" Lol.

You said 600mhz and 512 RAM, 800mhz and 256 RAM but the phones are actually 1000mhz (1ghz) and 512 RAM, 800mhz and 768 RAM.
The specs are not correct

Personally I think it's different enough to make me want to try it. I just don't know if it's $50 better than the Galaxy Nexus.
At least with the Nexus you get a ton of development. But, if I had the money I'd try it out for sure.
What do u need it run miui jellybean quad core kiart 1.7 oc and u don't need anything else and it translated to english

I would.... Just depends on how much it'd cost to import it though.

I would love one because the specs are amazing and it is contract free, but if it doesn't run on Sprint, I have no use for it.

Ram for SGS4g

Is there any way that I can increase the internal ram in my device?
Are you asking to increase the amount of memory or increase usable internal storage?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Well, I guess you can physically open up the device and solder in some ram.
But on a serious note, our phone has a total of 512 mb of ram, but only about 366 mb of ram available. Apparently this is because 146 mb of ram is needed for the screen. Perhaps it might be possible for someone to make a hack to make this ram accessible? I know such a hack exists for the first android phone, the HTC dream.
Also, there's a thing you can use called swap or whatever. You basically partition off a part of your SD card and you can use that as ram, many people do this with older phones. But it won't be nearly as fast as real ram, due to SD card speed limits.
Anyways, does our phone really need more ram? It runs ICS just fine with 366 mb of ram

I think working some kernel magic you could theoretically borrow some from the gpu but that might make the whole thing unstable if you tried to run some heavy graphics. Still actually an interesting thought
I'm having an average of 150mb free ram on hebmiui ics. That's more than i ever had on gb roms and is quite sufficient.

I still don't get if you're asking about RAM available for running programs or storage space inside for apps?

ram is 512 about 140 is used between os fucntions eg video audio cell wi fi sound so on so forth . Heres a kicker your device may report more ram used then actually is used. The way android works is it actually borrows memory to make standard os functions work better eg using ram as cache for common used functions. While it looks like this ram is being used. IF a application requires the memory it takes it back. So dont fret You have enough useable ram to run apps with.

It's a special revision of the hardware that Samsung is planning on releasing for Halloween. It looks like some people already got their hands on it though. Most of us have to wait until Oct. 31 or later to get it.
Good one

ram is embedded in the cpu, never going to change.
Then how did the value pack for the Samsung galaxy s give it more ram?

Where did you read that? It may free up RAM but it doesn't give it more. It is hardware. Want more RAM buy a different phone. End of story. lol

Again, the RAM is embedded in the CPU. No way to add more.
