[Q] Couple questons - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I just got the phone. Att version. I had a cappy before and couldn't resist flashing roms on this as soon as i got it. I'm running quikwiz and sometimes the phone doesn't ten on with the power button after a certain while. I can tell the phone is still on but the screen won't show up when i hit the power button. So I always have to restart the phone. (Vol up/power button)
I noticed when i first flashed a rom it gave me a warning. Do the carriers now know how to detect flashed devices?
Last question. My SD card isn't being detected. I'm flashing roms from the internal SD option.
Thanks in advance!

Carriers can tell its rooted if u try to turn it in rooted/ runing custom rom.
There is a flash counter that trips when you flash a custom kernel.
It depends on where you place the roms you want to flash. You most likley thought you were puting them on the external sd but infact put them on the internal. Click menu settings then storage. It will tell you how much free space is on the internal and external sd cards.

So since I've done all that and return to stock and try to return it to them, any chance of them finding out? I don't have an external SD card. When i had my captivate their was no option for internel. In recovery it just said SD card. Now in this phone it says externel SD won't mount and i tried mounting it from recovery it won't mount. The reason I'm asking is because when i downloaded the driver for chain fire it gave the option for recovery. I did it and it said externel SD won't mount. Am i just supposed to to put everything in my internal and flash it from there?

ATT has never seemed to mind my exchanged devices being rooted. They're refurbished anyhow after the exchange.... hope im not pressing my luck though..

Well yeah it wont mount if you did not physically put an external sd card in your phone. And it does not matter where you put your roms. Internal or if you get an external sd

Ok it was just a little different than the recovery on my previous phone so it confused me a little.
Carriers are getting smarter. :/
P.s. anyone know anything about my other screen not turning on problem?

Sounds like a bug.in the rom. I strongly suggest flashing red sonja rom. And by strongly i mean DO IT NOW lol

No problem. Enjoy. Lots more themeig to come. This leak is soooo muh better then the last. I have not tested this with out data wipe. It may be fine with out a data wipe. So when someone tries it let me know.

Installed, will be testing.
Thanks! Have a great weekend.
haptic feedback
is it working in this rom??
Yes it is....
.
So far, so good. The only thing I'd rather not see (I'm sure you've probably done this to your other rom?) is all the stock bloat and TW. Just my humble opinion though.
Yeah im going to remove tw launcher.
And bloat in an upcoming update. No eta's
Ill just say soon. All u have to do is delete the twlauncher and what ever bloat u dont want from the rom zip then flash it. In the meantime
Apex launcher is included i just forgot to axe tw before i uploaded
External SD Wiped
Like an idiot, I forgot to remove my MicroSD I wiped and installed the rom and when i went to my TiBu backup folder, my MicroSD is wiped clean.
Just want to give you guys a heads up just in case
Lol same here.

I'll be the first to throw this out there. How do you flash the ROM from the sd card if you remove the sd card before the flash?

I wonder the same. What is it that causes the card to be wiped? I've never wiped the ext sd unless intentionally formatting, nor have I ever removed it. It's never been an issue before. Why would it be diff't now

Remove external SD card. You place rom on the internal SD ;-)

Doesn't seem like much of an error to me. Except the fact it skips one of the sd's.
Well, report the results after updating CWM indeed.
But I think you're fine as long as you dont clean your external sd and internal storage (although it might lose it's connections to the apps installed on external SD). Or perhaps make a back-up of them to your PC.
Regards, Drago
That's normal your backup has been made bro.

I hv updated cwm. It's better than previous one, doesn't free the space. It took all the backup bt at last the same output, no sd-ext found.
I tried using both internal n external sd, result is same but I found backup folder in clockworkmod and size almost 1.05GB.
Is it done perfectly???

Internal Storage issue

Hello all, is there a trick to accessing the full amount of storage after several ROM flashes? My p3113 is low on storage, but the numbers just don't add up. The total space says 4.59GB (assuming system eats up the rest of the 8GB) but when I add up the usage stats its only roughly 2.8GB. And it is telling me only 516MB available? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, that does look a little off. I would suggest go into TWRP and do a full backup and make sure it's on your sd card. Pull the sd card just to be safe. Wipe the internal memory. Then restore your backup from the sd card. I'm guessing you have some left over crud on the internal from either dirty flashing or an incomplete wipe prior to flashing. This should fix ya.
If Wolf's suggestion doesn't get you the results you want (it should, but if it doesn't)...and you got some free time...odin back to stock and use the .pit for your device to repartition all memory.
<Note3>
Cool, it worked. I used cwm, pulled my SD card, formatted everything I could. I didn't restore the backup as I had just flashed slimkat official when I noticed the memory issue so just wanted to do a clean install. But I have all the memory available now. Thanks for the help. I appreciate your response!

I'm interested in what exactly you formatted mr_cj? I've had exactly the same issue after rooting my GT2 7" and installing the new builds of Slimkat. I guess you can just format/wipe *everything* as long as you've got the SD card out of the device? Is there anything you shouldn't wipe/format in recovery!? Thanks.
Scammor,
First make a backup of your ROM to your sdcard, backup your data ( I use titanium backup) to your SD card. PULL OUT YOUR SDCARD AFTERWARDS. Then using cwm, I did a wipe data/factory reset, then wipe cache partition, then wipe dalvic in advanced, then in mounts and storage I formatted "cache, system, data", and "data and/data/media". That may have been overboard, but it worked. Sorry for the delayed response. Hope it works for you. Good luck!

One question Scammor
Hello Scammor,
I just install cyanogenmod on my tab 2 7.0 and everything perfect but i got the same issue as you did before. When i go into the storage settings i see that my 8gb where not there, instead it said total space 4.59gb and available 1.26gb. I did what you said, using CMW i did a backup on my sd card and then format everything. Then i put my sd card again inside and restore it. Now i have total space of 4.59gb but the available is the 4.18gb instead of the 1.26gb i have before.
Does this happen to you too? or after you did everything you got the 8gb more or less in the total space? Thank you so much for your help!!!!

[Resolved] [Q] Migrate 16gb to 32gb SD locks apps

Hi all!
I got a tough pickle here (I think). I migrated from a 16gb (class 7) to a 32gb (class 10) SD Card. I'm using a paid (yes, I support awesome developers! ) version of Link2SD to keep phone memory clear, which links non-essential apps (data included) to an Ext2 formatted partition on the SD.
I made a backup of all apps with Titanium and copied all files from the Ext2 partition to my PC. I chopped the new SD in two partitions, one FAT32 and one Ext2, just like the old one (but with bigger partitions of course). Then I copied the files back from my PC to the new SD. I booted the phone with the new SD and noticed many apps have disappeared, all the ones that were linked to the Ext2 partition with Link2SD. If I try to install one again, I get a "Insufficient Storage Available" error, like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Trying to restore backups with Titanium in AUTO, Direct or Indirect mode it just keeps loading and does nothing, if I try restoring backups in INTERACTIVE mode, I get an "Out of space" error, like so:
I don't understand why it keeps thinking there is no space, this is my storage info:
I can install other apps but not the ones that were on the Ext2 partition. I tried clearing Dalvik and Cache, still the same. I wanted to follow the steps in this thread but the concerning apps have no folders in app-lib. PLEASE HELP!
Phone: Acer Liquid E3 (E380)
Android: 4.2.2 (Rooted)
Hey hey, not all at once!
I've been messing around to sort it out and managed to unlock a few apps by inserting the old card and uninstalling them from there first (to get them installed on the new card). I think something went wrong with the batch uninstall though, now some of the apps remain locked on both the old and the new SD. I suspect there must be some app-lib folders still hovering around somewhere but where should I look and what tool should I use? What if I just did a factory reset, would that solve it?
So. I did the Factory Reset and it worked :good: Thank you all for your help

need help lost upgrade sd file

i have alcatel idol3. i guess recently i got an update for my sd card i loved it , i didnt even know i had ,i just know that i was able told put anything i wanted to my external sd . well since i didnt know i had goten the update and that the file was saved to my sd card, i was having trouble with my sync and couldnt get it working right i decided to do a full factory reset . when i did it removed an important file that i was suposed to move befor i blanked my sd card . i noticed right away when i was setting my phone back up that i cant couldnt put anything on to my sd card now ,so i started looking to find the problem i tryed to do a normal update . the update for storage an erorr poped telling me file was missing ,and to find where the sourse file was located , well i found that it was a system upgrade and in the help section it tells me befor i formatbsd card to relocate that file but its to late the sd carrd was done at the same time i reset my phone .i couldnt find the upgrade anywhere when i looked on my own its called jrdsdcard upgrade( typyed the way it is in my phone) i need help finding where to get that upgrade or one is like it thanx for any help u can give

i still don't know what's your problem.
I'm trying to understand what you're issue is. I don't know if you received an update that was stored on your sd card for your phone or if you received an update for the sd card. If it was an sd card update, which I don't even know exists, I don't think you're in the right place to get help on that. If the phone isn't reading the card I'd try and see if your computer can recognize the card through a reader or through the phone when you plug it into your computer. I've had issues where my phone wouldn't read the sd card, but my computer still picked it up and I was able to reformat to the proper format that the phone could read. I'd try that and if it doesn't work, I'd contact the sd card company and ask them.
i dont know how to explain it im new to all of this. all i know is last week i was able to put everything i wanted on my sd card , on my non rooted phone after i did the factory reset the sd card wont take anything but my mx player. the only reason im saying upgrade is , because on my phone there is the update phone section in about phone section in settings i clicked it it checkes for newer software and then theres the phone update (storage only) i clicked it it comes back error no sourse file locate host file location . the only reason i think i know what it was called is , i went into apps went to all and found the name of one i hadnt seen before called jrdsdcard upgrade i tryed to reload it it says error i tryed to remove it it says i dont hsve permision to do that id love to hook it up to a computer but i dont have one thanx for ur time on this
