[Q] Any news on CM7 or MIUI?

I had heard a while back from Krylon that he was working on a CM7 port but i haven't heard anything since it's original announcement, so has anyone heard anything? also, any news on MIUI?

team ACID stated that they were almost done with CM7 not too long ago...as for MIUI i doubt there is any development going on as of now

team acid is pretty much releasing stuff daily. i cant keep up. lol! cant wait to start my new job...so i can donate to these guys.

I don't think acid is working on it. I believe it's just krylon drhonk may be helping I don't know. But krylon was on vacation.

im the one on vacation and im getting behind in my projects. my kid got stung by like 20 jellyfish and was in the hospital. he is fine but been tied up with that. i have a working cm7...almost...cant get the 4g to work but close. and to make matters worse the laptop i brought on vacation crashed in the middle of a upload. bad week...lol...so i promise my fellow flashaholics as soon as i can i will be posting some love.

if u can upload the project to sourceforge our sourceforge i can fisx the 4g issue its prob a basband modem issue thats preventing it

I know the feeling of the jellyfish thing, it sucks so bad. I hope your son/daughter gets better soon. bit question about the 4g, can it connect to 3g and just not 4g? cuz if so id be willing to sacrifice and just wait for an update later on

it can connect to 3g. mine drops down to 3g sometimes.
hope your son gets better soon, mongo. i live in florida and ive been owned by jellyfish many times before. it sucks. take it easy and i hope everything works out.

Yes, currently we don't have full bluetooth capabilities, like connecting a wiimote for a gamepad. I've heard cm fixes it on a lot of phones.
Also, glad your kid is ok man! Jellyfish are so pretty but freaking DEADLY D:

thanks for everyones concern about my son. it means alot. its like having a big extended family on xda. as for the 4g thing i think i almost have it but if you guys want it ill post it when i get my laptop up and running should be like sometime in the next 48 hrs...i am supposed to be on vacation...ya right...lol.

as far as miui i dont think it will ever happen. there is no 4g at all. and i feel if you want an iphone get a iphone...lol

Instructions:
* make a backup of your current ROM, if you're a pansy like that
* WIPE DATA (DUH)
* flash the ROM (DUH)

* reboot into a ridiculously early build of ICS/CM9 for the Droid Charge
If it doesn't boot the first time, boot back into recovery, and repeat the steps above.
If you find a bug...keep it to yourself! Don't ask me how to fix it, you already saw yourself that it doesn't work, right?

I'm pretty sure the only things not working are bluetooth, the youtube app, the radios, the camera (which i haven't seen working in nearly every other ICS ROM for every other phone), and the home button (which doesn't matter much because you can just use the back button).
I know that EGL (hardware acceleration) is working, wifi is working, the screen, sdcard, all google apps and basically every thing else you can think of.
It is really great how much is working, especially considering that this is a first build. Thanks JT!

The updater script in the zip will convert you to ext4 automatically. I'm very excited for this ROM--I tried it out last night and although I won't be staying on it until cell connectivity is working, it's very nice of JT to have put this initial version together for us.

my guess would be that given ICS is a whole new iteration of android (its own kernel, skin, modems, etc.) I don't think it'll work... I personally wouldn't try it I'd just wait till they sort the RIL out

Would I be able to restore from my Infinity rom backup just fine? Considering the RFS/EXT4 mess..
EDIT: Restoring from Infinity had no problems, I guess the ICS is already on EXT4 anyway

<---Well aside from all that I gotta say I fell in love with ICS when I ran this rom. It was freaking amazing. I no longer had the urge to buy the galaxy nexus, not like I can afford it. I will be more than satisfied with my charge when this is finish. I ran this for half of the day and would've kept running it if I was forced to take it off (ie boyfriend :-/)

First of all I want to thank every single one of you that has supported the Charge. I really hope that we get to see a stable and working ICS soon. I have supported the devs that I have stayed with on this phone and will continue to support others who I choose to follow. Always remember that we NEVER start with a stable release. We fall down so we can learn how to pick ourselves up. Being that said, I say keep kicking @$$ at developing on phones that manufacturers give up on in the beginning. I don't know about you but 90% of us use our phones for at least a year or better because of the contracts. Donations will continue if you keep on developing on this ICS build. THANK YOU!!!

Just wanted to state that atm other then working iwth miui station to get miui fixed and if bryan and FB need help pretty much all my sgs4g development is done its been a great ride some fun times some not so fun times.. Was here sence pretty much the beginning when all we had was stock nothing else. But like any piece of software there comes a time when well there isn't much else we can do. Once bryan gets cm7 working it will prob help me and miui station get miui working properly.
After that I wish u all the best of luck and see u in whatever device u goto...

Dude are you serious? Samsung told everyone that the original Galaxy S line wasn't gonna get it due to hardware limitations. They can't get it with touchwiz so we don't get it at all

Why do you think the sgs4g needs to get ics? My phone is fast got extremely great battery life and tons of other things. Do you just want ics so you could have the latest android flavor or do you think or know it will make our phones that much better. I'm not trying to be a smartass just curious why ppl are this rilled up about ics.

I think the only reason is because "others have it".

Great words blazen you know maybe ics has some quiet interesting features but our developers make than our phone from crappy to gingerbread better than ics that is one the reasons I want to start developing because I feel that I got skills to make some good stuff for the phone ( like themes and guides only things that i have finished) and other reason is because here our developers are way better than samsungs horrible costumer service....anyway every sgs4g user most appreciete the developers work even if the projects are not finished like ics port and aosp port because that makes people more happy and they know that there works are awesome

I believe that most want it because it is the newest OS and most believe it will be an improvement, much like GB compared to Froyo... Which is understandable considering the developers here are going full bore in a attempt to port ICS.
Being one of those that was satisfied with froyo, I have to admit I am even more satisfied with GB... But as for your question, I personally hope that it is released for our phone because if it is, so to would the source be released (just imagine what the developers could accomplish with it).

You do realize that's a post from someone in the forums right? No word from Samsung USA. You cannot depend on what a customer service rep says, they sit behind the computer all day and still do not know a thing about the products they are supposed to be supporting. They are just trying to shut us up about it already. If the OG galaxy s gets just a value pack, it'd be hard to imagine them bending backwards to give us full ICS

If I am not mistaken the T-Mobile version is the same as the Telus S2 in Canada. If it is I would not be in any hurry to upgrade to ICS. My own experience and experience of others as reported on the Howardforums has not been stellar. Problems with apps freezing and battery life going in the toilet are common. Looks great, just doesn't work very well. I would hold off until these issues are addressed. I usually always wait to do an update until I here some feedback but this time I jumped in and am now regretting it.

So I was talking to flyers00 and I decided to let you guys know that this weekend I took out the Blaze to test some stuff on CM9 and since I wasn't used to carrying two phones I accidentally left it at Starbucks table when I went back to see if it was there maybe 10 minutes later the thing was gone and I asked the employees and of course no one saw a thing. So this is bad news for me because I feel bad for losing the phone...but after talking to flyers00 and him being an awesome team member/friend he said he would test all my builds from here on out so just wanted to let you guys know that i'll still keep deving for you guys just have to outsource the builds to him or others from team fah-q to make sure they work before releasing. Again, I feel bad but I will continue to contribute towards more builds and roms for this phone.
Try not to be so harsh with the comments as it wasn't my intention just completely blanked I had the blaze on me since i felt my pocket and felt my personal phone.

I think many people are down to test ROMs, but I can safely say he is one if the most effective testers.

Haha this is why I use prey :3 I can activate it via text and data, and it will start blasting an alarm and send me it's location

Thanks guys figured id get thrashed lol but we got every member of tfq working on **** I'm looking into OC/UV the cm9 kernel and flyers00 just released miui...thomas is working on gummy...witherell is working on a modded stock(ics tweaked) merwin is looking into kernel editing and ill release aokp in the next few days

Maybe one day i'll apply for the RD status
and i haven't included what i've done lately for the sgs4g got three more roms and all my blaze work and some work for the s2 and the e739

I asked about RD status and they told me they didn't know when they were going to accept applications again.
Sucks because that's the only reason I'm developing for this phone! lol, jk.
