Many thanks Guys
well you may be new to android but with 129 posts you are obviously not new to these forums so you should know how to search. and this goes in the themes section, not software and hacking. and if you had searched that forum youd have found the answer...you should try it some time.
the images you are looking for are in framework-res.apk in res/drawable. just replace them with whatever you like, then sign and flash.
all the answers you need are in the Android themes section. try searching there before posting next time, as it is QUITE LIKELY that whatever your question is, it has already been answered there at LEAST once...

So, I'm new to the forums (Hi), but I've been messing around with my phone well before i registered (rooted, deo'd, custom notification bar, ect). I'd like to see if anyone here has the ability to either help me with a project, or just to point me in the right direction. What I'd like to do, is port the lockscreen, notification bar, and (if possible) call answer screen from the Simplisim theme for the HTC Desire to the droid X. Simplism can be found in the Desire subform here, I just can't link to it yet...
I'm not sure where to start - I also posted in that thread. I'm currently working on the notification bar (The easy part ). Anyone have any ideas? ^_^

Well, I'm already working on the statusbar up top... icons and looks and whatnot. I'll probably get to editing the XML and fonts soon. The REAL issue, at least for me, is how to get that sexy lockscreen and/or call answer screen on the Dx. Any ideas?
I am running Calkulin's latest rom and love it. But I really would like to have the stock graphics back on the bottom bar and the slide to unlock bar. It was asked in Calkulin's thread a while ago, but was ignored.
I see where people have mod'ed the bottom bar, maybe someone can make a stock one for us.
Thanks
I didnt know what to search for. Searching at another form, led me to this thread. Thanks Barnacles....

Hope this helps others in their search.
I've read some people don't like the new notification icon for keyboard switching. I don't have a way to get rid of that icon, but I just discovered you don't need to use it. Long hold on the space bar and you will get a pop up for quick changing the keyboard!
I'm running the latest (IIRC) version of Clean Rom Developer Edition. Sorry if this doesn't work on other ICS ROMs.

Hey all,
New here. Not new to modding, but def new to android modding. I just flashed the Sky ICS 4.2E - 14ish ROM. I like it a lot, but have a few questions for the good folks here. There does not seem to be (or at least I cannot find it) documentation of what some of the post flash mods are or do...can anyone point me in the right direction or simply tell me what a few of these do?
The original post is here....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26071082&postcount=2
Zmods
Battery Mods (I assume this is to change the battery icon in the system tray)
Fixes and Crap (what it says on the page) - TW UX-MOD1 5x5 appdrawer
Nexus Density (to remove reflash the update)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Battery Mods (I assume this is to change the battery icon in the system tray) correct
Fixes and Crap (what it says on the page) - TW UX-MOD1 5x5 appdrawer - changes the app drawer to 5 icons by 5 icons
Nexus Density (to remove reflash the update) this makes the screen look bigger by making everything smaller
Sent from my SGS 2 LTE running SkyICS
I appreciate it. Can you clarify the zmods line item?
Also on the battery icon mods. Are those CWM zip flashes or are they simply uncompress in a file mgr? If the flash style, if you don't like them is there an "undo"?

Don't quite understand what you're asking about with the zmods... It's just a zip file that you extract and it has wallpapers and some apps you can use if you like...
The battery mods are cwm flashes that you can flash whenever you want. If you don't like it, flash another 1, doesn't hurt anything. If you want to go back to stock just flash the latest update and it will take you back... If you go to the skyics thread jrockttu posted pics of all the battery mods for everyone to see...

There are two main categories: Crysis and without Crysis. I too did not know what type of icons I would get after a flash so I flashed a few of them. The Crysis will change your signal bar from 4 straight bars to 4 S shaped bars. More shaped like dolphins on it's tail. The big Android will give you an Android battery icon with battery percentage. The others will give you battery icons that are either a circle or like a flower with battery percentage in the middle. Just flash to see what they look like and flash another if you don't like it. I've flashed almost all of them except the stock ones without any problems. I wiped cache prior to flashing.
Links to Battery Bar Mods and Lock Screen Mods
Thanks guys. There are 367 pages and even when I knew exactly what to look for the search still took a few minutes so I thought I'd put the links to the posts here for other noobs!

System Name
Hey all...quick question regarding the system name. Before I flashed to SkyICS and even after I flashed the 4.2E base 5, the system name (AT&T or AT&T Microcell) would show up in the notifications screen. Now after the 14-ish update not so much. Is there a setting for this that I am not aware of?

Pretty sure sean took that off...
DIal Shortcuts
Gingerbread used to have the concept of dial shortcuts. You could basically put a direct dial icon on your home pages. Seems to be gone. Is that an ICS thing or a Seanz removal thing? OR (more likely) and I just missing it?
Also, the traditional Vol Down + Power or Home Haptic + Volume does not seem to take a screen shot, how do I do that?
Call shortcuts
OK...figured out the screenshot thing. Gotta be super coordinated! (Home Haptic and Power have to be pressed simultaneously for just under a second)
Can someone point me in the right direction for the call shortcut question above? Thanks much.

Using the Apex launcher I press the screen I choose Shortcuts and then select direct dial or direct message. When I use TWUX, open the app drawer and then click the Widgets tab at the top. Select the Direct Dial or Direct message widget from there.
Hope that helps.

Yes sir. Thank you SOOOO much. That was the main thing I didn't like and now I'm all good!
From the Home screen, go to Apps, then select Widgets. Scroll and look for Direct Dial 1 x 1. After placing it, it will open your contacts. Choose one for direct dialing.
Zmods
Im a noob too and i need help how to exactly install zmods. i dont know how to at all. Sorry for being such a noob/:
No install for Zmods, just unzip. ZMods has some utilities for folks a little more familiar with modding and also has a lot of sounds and wallpapers.
