Xperia play Gameloft games lagging - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

Ok first off let me assure everyone that i have looked at every other thread made on this topic and have only started this one because i didnt find an answer and also because i really cant take this lag anymore. See i get annoying lag on nova 2 and backstab and strangley modern combat 3,9MM,order and chaos and rainbow six run fine. i have a class 4 sandisk 32gb card, rooted bloat removed not overclocked . i make sure to kill any ongoing apps that might interfere. i dont use task killers. so guys do any of you have a solution?

Having the same problems here. The framerate drops, then controls respond very late...

Have a long time the same Problems. Root with Bloatware cleaning and another tweaks helps only a little bit. Now i unlock Thema bootloader and only OC helps. Now all games are very smooth. This ins not optimal for all Users...

Try doing a SD card speed test and see how fast SD reads and writes data.
I can imagine if the SD card reads rather slow that you experience lag while playing.
I'm also having a bit of lag since i switched to my 32GB class 4

It is 100% from SD card. Class 4 is sh.t for hard gaming.
I recommend 16 GB class 6 and up.

Has it not already been established that higher class are not good performers when it comes to gaming due to slower random access

Class 4 is the standard for Hard gaming. Class 2 and below, OR Class 10 is ****. Class 6 cards are rare, and there havent been any hard tests i've seen on them vs class 4 on this phone.
Class 10 cards are made for Digital Cameras, period.

I just got a class 6 32 gb sd to replace my class 4 16gb & I dont know about proper tests but as far as simply transferring data from xplay to pc(or by card reader) I swear it is slower than class 4!!

I have the exact same problem as you guys!
My xperia play was lagging with the class 2 8gb sd card that came with the phone, so I decided to buy a class 4 16gb sd card instead..
while it's great that the card has more space, the games still lag quite badly; almost to the point that the games are unplayable

thread
well i just bought a class 4 32gb to get rid of lag from what im seeing here that wont cut it i just want to know if anyone has found a proper solution many thanks for your posts

I have a 16gb class 2 card and I get very little lag. Gameloft games play lag free more than 95% of the time. I'm running stock .42 with locked bootloader, rooted. I've removed lots of SE's bloat and use Autostarts to stop apps running in the background and I've applied a few ram tweaks

could i ask what ram tweaks? thanks for the post

I use v6 supercharger to lock my launcher in memory, and I use the 'Lost' default in Autokiller Memory Optimizer. You could also try the hard gaming option in Ram Manager

i downloaded autokiller can i use the lost settings without superchargerv6?

i hate seeing this thread. read the reviews before you buy games gameloft are not the best xperia play optimized games, people know this already plus i would not be worried about lag more so the fact you just cant control them.
gameloft rush out there games as fast as they can dont seem like they even test them on play. i have brought 7 myself and not one of them is perfect far from it. also dont talk about updates i brought mc2 when it came out and was kind of playable then they tried updating it and became even worst even more uncontrollable and laggy and they left it like that to this day.
people should know for future gameloft = hint and miss dont expect to much

You don't need to use v6 at all

well i must say autokiller worked an absolute treat thanks so much man much recommended to anyone reading this thread with similar problems and poo-tang is right in most cases lag in gameloft games is due to incompetent work on gameloft part.

Hello there,
I've found some threads about gaming on a xperia play, and they are tolding that the problem can be with the card class; what's the class of your memory card? according the thread, high class cards are bad for gaming - one of them was shocked that, with a class 10 card, the game was full of lags; when he changed to a class 4 card, the game ran without lag...
Try to change to a class 4 card and tell the results; hope this help.

Hey buddy, i tried the 4 class sdcard and the 10 class , niether did the trick. Any other sugestions

16gb version only available

I've been looking around through Sprint's community forums and see that they will not be offering the 32gb option, just the 16gb. I was really hoping to upgrade my S3 with the S5, but I'm already running out of room and I would really like the option for more space. Does anyone know if there's a way to free up the usable internal space or get Android to allow apps to work better off the SD card?
Thanks
It can't be apps that are taking up all your space, buy a class 10 64 gb like I have and just move all your pictures and music on it... I never notice it being slow or non responsive for the movies or music I play off it. I preordered my s5 a few days ago and i am not going to worry about space.

There has been some hint that 32GB might be offered later in the Sprint Community at the official Sprint website. The customer care people have posted "watch the news feed for updates". In the mean time sign the petition http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/sprintgs532gb
If it even comes, it will be much later

Yesterday I wiped my s3 and loaded CM11. That freed up a ton of space, but I'm not really sure what originally took up all the space. I can only guess it was the ROM that I had before. I have always had my pictures on my SD card and don't take video.
I just bought a 64gb SD card and that could help. I would like to have the onboard memory, though.

The S5 also supports new 128 GB micro-SDs. Pretty awesome, I think. I don't know if app2sd is still supported, though.

yes it is still supported
however, if you want the "extreme" or "extreme plus" micro SD card from sandisc, the biggest is 64gb that is available currently

For now...
And anyway, it's just a pipe dream for me, because I can't afford the fast 64, let alone a slow 128.
I have the extreme plus version and it's amazingly fast. Gallery loads in an instant versus the ultra model

[Q] games run slower than they should

I have a galaxy s2 plus and I think I might have a problem cause I tried playing dead trigger on my phone it lags a bit but it worked flawless on my friends s2 plus the same model and they are both rooted and the same happens with shadowgun deadzone the only difference he owns 32gb sd card and I have 2 gb sd card could that make this slow down in games?

Yes it could, your 2GB is prbably class 2 or class 4. Your friends is probably a higher class.
BUT whats really important: Are both phones running the same android version?
Good point!
Also check to see (use a utility app) to see what else is running on your phone vs your friend's.
Another thing to check is the settings of the game... not sure if this particular one is configurable, but if it is, is he running at the same quality or perhaps lower?
For the android version they are both 4.2.2
And for the quality he plays dead trigger on high smoothly while it lags on my mobile on low
Can u suggest a good utility app

You can use SystemPanel Lite (free). It is quite good and it can show you what processes are loaded up and how much memory they consume.

Well in that case sd card isnt the problem thr gamr is installed on internal memory any other suggestion?
I tried this system panel app it didnt help the problem still remains could this be related to a faulty hardware?
Can a faulty root process cause this?
This problem has driven me crazy hell my friend with galaxy trend can run it better than I do this is crazy

Flash pure performance & pure graphics mod and use greenify to hibernate the apps running in background
try once installing them in ur inbuilt storage
hmm Here is some suggestion
Are you on stock ROM?
If yes try XLD ROM by Cmhandra for gaming..its the best ROM out there
Also try Pure Performance + Pure graphics for enchaining the gaming performance...
Install pureperforMance.Zip
Installing mods and ROMs and using class 10 memory card makes only a little difference.
Honestly, the processor that this phone houses can't run high graphic games.
Its 1.50GHz Mediatek MT6589T processor is not that powerful , compare its benchmarks with 1.3 GHz mtk , a117's scores are lower.
Hence play games in medium or low graphics mode.
Press thanks if helped:good:

Why a Flex2 will grind to a halt? (hint: SD card)

The Flex2 can be real fast. And it can be real slow.
The difference lies in the question: Did you move some apps to the SD card?
If you did, then the Flex2 will get slower and slower the more apps you move to the SD card. I got the motherboard changed in my Flex 2 and initially it was running real fast, until I started shifting some apps to the SD card and it crawled.
Both before and after the motherboard was changed, the behavior was the same.
Maybe it depends on the sd card .
I got a 64GB which is fast and recommend for 4k
I moved some apps to the sd card but the performance is still the same.
I've got an ultrafast uhs 128gb which tops out the A1 SD bench app. The easiest way to see the performance degradation is to go to Google plus and click on a picture, then share external. There is a very great delay awaiting for the share to apps icons to load up.

What's the read write speed for the card you got? I just picked up a 80+mb/s card seems pretty good
Sent from my LG-H959 using XDA Free mobile app
Iv3 confirmed it to myself couple times already. Once you start moving many apps to the SD card it'll all slowdown.
I'm using the Lexar sport 600+X uhs micro SD.

I got an Samsung 64GB Pro.
I think you are right.
I moved a few apps back to phone and now it looks like the phone runs better.
But important is an solution. I report that to LG, maybe they can help
I found the video ... this is the lag I am talking about... if all the apps installed on phone then you won't experience this type of lag.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFo7g3yrR_o
Good that some find solutions
In my case i dont have any apps on sd and the microlag is all over the phone. Not a specific app
I send LG Support an e mail.
Hope they answer fast
If the phone had 64GB, ok than its not a big deal but it only got 16GB
