Why a Flex2 will grind to a halt? (hint: SD card) - LG G Flex 2

The Flex2 can be real fast. And it can be real slow.
The difference lies in the question: Did you move some apps to the SD card?
If you did, then the Flex2 will get slower and slower the more apps you move to the SD card. I got the motherboard changed in my Flex 2 and initially it was running real fast, until I started shifting some apps to the SD card and it crawled.
Both before and after the motherboard was changed, the behavior was the same.

Maybe it depends on the sd card .
I got a 64GB which is fast and recommend for 4k
I moved some apps to the sd card but the performance is still the same.

I've got an ultrafast uhs 128gb which tops out the A1 SD bench app. The easiest way to see the performance degradation is to go to Google plus and click on a picture, then share external. There is a very great delay awaiting for the share to apps icons to load up.

What's the read write speed for the card you got? I just picked up a 80+mb/s card seems pretty good

Iv3 confirmed it to myself couple times already. Once you start moving many apps to the SD card it'll all slowdown.
I'm using the Lexar sport 600+X uhs micro SD.

I got an Samsung 64GB Pro.
I think you are right.
I moved a few apps back to phone and now it looks like the phone runs better.
But important is an solution. I report that to LG, maybe they can help

I found the video ... this is the lag I am talking about... if all the apps installed on phone then you won't experience this type of lag.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFo7g3yrR_o

Good that some find solutions
In my case i dont have any apps on sd and the microlag is all over the phone. Not a specific app

I send LG Support an e mail.
Hope they answer fast
If the phone had 64GB, ok than its not a big deal but it only got 16GB

Memory Card advice???

Hi All,
I plan on buying a new SD card (16 GB). Is SDHC Class 10 good? I believe it is supposed to have good r/w speed. Any specific brand to look for? I could only see Transcend and Verbatim on online site.
Is there any way to move app as is from the old to the new SD card? I do have Titanium backup but wondering what happens if I insert new memory card. All my apps are installed in internal memory with some games having downloaded files on SD card.
Thanks in advance.
Save yourself money and get class 6. More than enough.
Go for any known brand. You.can just copy contents from old card to the new one.

I disagree, brand and class do matter. If you can buy class 10 Kingston , they are pretty fast and have lifetime warranty.
M experience with slower cards. If you play games and listen to music sometimes it can stutter , if your internal storage is not big (Sensation has 1gb which sucks) you tend to move lots of stuff to SD so if the card is slow it certainly affects overall performance.
This was the case with Desire, indeed, but mainly for ext partition.

As stated above go for a good brand. Like SanDisk/Kingston, I've tried cheap ones and they've failed quickly. My current one is a Lexar which seems OK.
There is an app on the market that you can use to benchmark the card. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of it. I found an old 4GB SanDisk which was Class 4 performed better than Class 6.

[Q] Moto Atrix 2 gaming problem !

Hi Guys,
I just got my motorola atix 2 a week back but have been facing some problems related to games . I tried to put files in sd card and then install game but it after installation doesn't work and also deletes the game files in android/data.
Its running 2.3.6 after i did a update with a 8gb card.
And also i read on some forums that there is also problem with a 32gb card and i have ordered it online already...
So please help guys , really need some information !
I've heard that there are problems with some class 10 cards...I'm not having any problems with a class 4 or 6 (I don't remember which I bought, and don't feel like pulling it out at the moment) 32gb card that I got from Amazon. I get the tiniest hesitation or stutter when I start some apps that are stored on the sd card, but that's about it for me so far. Even that's reduced now that I'm running Supercharged.
Store it in phone! Can't u ? U have a 4gig of storage left out for apps. I have em all on ma phone memory. No lags nothin.

16gb version only available

I've been looking around through Sprint's community forums and see that they will not be offering the 32gb option, just the 16gb. I was really hoping to upgrade my S3 with the S5, but I'm already running out of room and I would really like the option for more space. Does anyone know if there's a way to free up the usable internal space or get Android to allow apps to work better off the SD card?
Thanks
It can't be apps that are taking up all your space, buy a class 10 64 gb like I have and just move all your pictures and music on it... I never notice it being slow or non responsive for the movies or music I play off it. I preordered my s5 a few days ago and i am not going to worry about space.

There has been some hint that 32GB might be offered later in the Sprint Community at the official Sprint website. The customer care people have posted "watch the news feed for updates". In the mean time sign the petition http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/sprintgs532gb
If it even comes, it will be much later

Yesterday I wiped my s3 and loaded CM11. That freed up a ton of space, but I'm not really sure what originally took up all the space. I can only guess it was the ROM that I had before. I have always had my pictures on my SD card and don't take video.
I just bought a 64gb SD card and that could help. I would like to have the onboard memory, though.

The S5 also supports new 128 GB micro-SDs. Pretty awesome, I think. I don't know if app2sd is still supported, though.

yes it is still supported
however, if you want the "extreme" or "extreme plus" micro SD card from sandisc, the biggest is 64gb that is available currently

For now...
And anyway, it's just a pipe dream for me, because I can't afford the fast 64, let alone a slow 128.
I have the extreme plus version and it's amazingly fast. Gallery loads in an instant versus the ultra model

Anyone using a 128GB sdcard

Just wanted to know if anyone is using a 128GB micro sd /xd card with the s5
if so have you had any issues? are you rooted? do you have an ext4 partition?
Im thinking of getting one this week using a 28GB ext4 partition and 100GB of extra storage and copying / expanding the partitions I have on my current 64GB variant
I'm using one, with no problems

Using a cheap eBay 128gig got it for $30 works great pictures load a tad slow but not bad for the price
Oh didn't know the S5 supported SD cards that large.
I'd be very very surprised if that's really 128GB.
I would soak test it before you put data on above about 4-8GB. I would also have a good close look at the partition table.
Just speaking from experience unless that's a second user one that's about a half to a third of the best prices out there.

Using top dollar sandisk 128gb card. works flawlessly. no issues at all. wish I could figure out how to get burst photos to go straight to card.
This is the card I'm using. Been running it for a few months with no problems whatsoever.
128 Gb works just fine. It's class 10 sdcard. No issues. Unrooted+rooted.
Tried this card on a lg g pro 2 though. There i had a lot of problems.
I thought the S5 could only handle 64GB memory cards? I'm using a 64GB sandisk one and it works perfectly! In my opinion thats more than enough and I got it at a good price :fingers-crossed:
Just got the 128 gig card, so far so good, no problems, actual available mem on the card is 119gig, Using it on the Sprint S5 variant

Please do that check before you start taking irreplaceable pictures. This is what I use, takes forever, but well worth the wait.

Adata 128gb sdhc??
so this is the card that I bought off ebay. Ebay you say...... well its a huge piece of ****. to start it is a fake, found that out when I started to write to it and after it reached around 8GB it started to overwrite what was already there! SD card test app confirmed it. check before you buy, some fakes can be identified easily. below is what ADATA replied to me when I had asked them WTF was wrong my damn card. like it mentions below, check the manufacturers website for any pictures of the cards and related packaging and descriptions. bottom line is you get what you pay for. A $20 card is far from a $100. for me the card was cheap so I was willing to risk it, but I saw some Samsung cards as high as $80 and they were also fakes. Ill wait for the price to go down, and get it from a local reputable retailer.
Thank you for contacting ADATA.
You mentioned that you have a 128GB MicroSDHC memory card. However, ADATA has not manufactured any MicroSD memory cards that has exceeded the capacity of 64GB (please visit the following link to our current memory card product offerings):
http://www.adata.com/index.php?action=product&cid=7&lan=en&cid1=3
Also, MicroSD memory cards with capacities of 64GB and above are categorized as MicroSDXC, not MicroSDHC.
There’s a suspicion that you might have purchased a counterfeit product. To verify, please compare your item against the product images we have listed on our web pages. We could assist you with identifying the product as well if you could send us images of your product.
no, i haven't fill up my 16 gb internal yet :v
Using 128GB Class 10 on my Verizon S5 and have no issues at all.
Biggest problem I had was transferring files from previous 32GB to the 128GB (A lot of files, took a while).
I am also rooted and I have to say being rooted is better with the bigger (or any) SD card that way you can use the SDFix app and allow file browsers to write to SD.
I'm using a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB card for now but will jump to 128 GB sooner rather than later since it seems everyone has had good luck with using legit cards. I'm kind of waiting for a sub-$100 deal, though.
Anyone find any discounted 128gb SD cards on Amazon or anything?

It should just work, storage is storage. I am not sure what in the software, memory IO, or processors would make much of a difference. My 64GB samsung Class10 card works in the oldest of old devices that I have as far as android phones go, no problem. Even back in the android 2.3 OS. My Mifi hotspot even accepts and shares my 64gb sd cards' contents over DLNA.
I bought 128 micro sd adata and I have one problem whit videos, when I copy or move any video from my internal memory to micro sd that videos don't play on my s5 video player. Anyone has solution for this problem??

8GB version questions

My wife is fed up with her tribute on virgin mobile. She wants to stay on virgin's $35 plan, so I'm leaning towards the moto g 3rd gen for her (she doesn't really care what phone she has as long as it "works"), but one of the issues with the tribute is that there was literally no space for her own apps after the last update (it was also a buggy mess, but that's another issue).
Is being limited to 8bg a problem for anyone? Can you even get the 16gb version for virgin mobile?
All she'll be using it for is spotify, fallout shelter (and maybe sudoku and stuff like that), navigation and the occasional call and text. No facebook or instagram, or anything like that.
I came from a Nexus 4 with 8gb to this. Probably had 150 apps. With the cloud, micro SD card, and moving apps to the sd(some), I haven't had any problems with this awesome device.

There's a micro SD card slot on both 8gb and 16gb model. I have the 8gb model and I have a 16gb micro SD card in it. You can move the apps the SD card and also store your downloaded music.

Not really. I'm surprised this runs pretty smooth. I came from the moto x 2014. Of course if you play hardcore games and other memory hungry apps it will become sluggish. However basic social media apps, youtube, chrome, and Google play music works flawlessly.
