big mistake!! please help!! - General Questions and Answers

i was installed a i9000 rom on my samsung galaxy s2 i9100 (because i didn't read the title)..
i know it's a stupid mistake but- can be a solution to the hard brick that i got??
or i have to go to store to fix it??
please help me because my phone doesn't work at all (not download mode or recovery also..)

If download mode no longers works you will need a JTAG device to restore functionality, which are expensive.
So you will mostlikely have to go to a store.
If the repair guy wants to, he can find out that you flashed a wrong ROM.
Which means he will know your warranty is void and will most likely charge you for the repair.

i understand... oh crap - there is someway i can make them to don't know that i flashed a wrong rom? and i also want to ask you how to flash my store (16gb but its in my phone its not an a memory card).?

I did the same thing when i got my t989. I put a i9000 rom on it and it never turned back on...sorry man i had to get it warrantied out and got a new one. Thank god i did it in 3 hrs of getting the phone so they swapped it out no problem.

I think there's nothing you can do without going to your local repair shop. Good luck and be more careful in the future by reading instructions more than twice

i hard bricked my w8 once..then i act stuopid in front of the retailer and he repaired it for free cause of warranty he changed the mother board..worth a try

right, ill try to act like stupid and i really hope they won't check my phone.
could they see any rom or there is actually no rom inside so they will never find it???

OK guys what your talking about is fraud and is not condoned on XDA. If you brick your device by Modding it that is on you and you should not try to get a warrenty replacement for it.
This is the reason you are advised to understand what you are doing BEFORE. You do it.

I downloaded ROM manager. and flashed with clockworkmod recovery. because i want to flash a zip file.
but what happens is, it suddenly turns black, i mean the screen turned black and then it won't turn on anymore. and the worst part is i didnt do a back up. i forgot to!
please help me guys, my dad will gonna .. ugh.. if he will find out what happens ((
im so stupid.. ugh.
I really shouldn't bother posting here because I answered this question a billion times..
It's dead, return it to the store and beg for a new one.
Your phone wasn't listed in ROM manager so you used an other flash which wasn't build for your phone, because of that it failed to boot and now it's unusable, very maybe you are able to restore it with Odin but I have no experience with that.
i have the same case as you , and send to repair center, it claims that my mother board spoil , and it change new one for me
Its happend to me ...
i send hem for repair...
go to private store and they fix yoy that..

[Q] Bricked my device! Help

I was using my Samsung Galaxy mini ( GT-S 5570) and was using ROM manager (free) on it.
When it asked for my device.. In my desperation I chose Huawei Pulse mini. No problem. After that.. I selected 'Back up current ROM'
When I did that my phone's screen went blank.
I could not boot. I took the battery out and tried. No success.
So I connected it to my PC. The Samsung Kies software detects the phone but cannot identify it so can't upgrade firmware or anything.
I have tried all combinations to boot into recovery mode. No success.
Is there any way I could get my phone back?
Help! I really need this!

Plus.. I had rooted my phone. My warranty is void.
I think you are kinda screwed..
Warranty void, I dont think theres a way to fix this on your own
Is there an equivalent of download mode and ODIN/Heimdall flashable stock ROM for your device?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S variant - T-Mo Vibrant, and the download mode + heimdall took me and a few of my friends out of a tight corner quite a few times.
I have the exact same problem. Odin detects my phone..but when i tried doing a pone package install, it gets stuck at "connection setup...".
I experienced the same thing as you experienced, already three days I tried to solve the problem but still can not, sha no intention to go to him tomorrow samsung sad day my heart
Get a phone insurance, then dump it in the bath for half an hour
Jokes aside, if you were able to do a quality brick, perhaps they might not be able to find out what happened?
What do you guys think about that, can he get his phone fixed under warranty
hi...
i have a Galaxy Mini S5570 or Pop.
after i used Rom Manager and backup ROM, i figured i had chose the wrong ROM
and overwrite on my ROM.
Now my phone in bad Hard Brick.
no response, cannot combo and always black.
i been searching high and low for solution and tried many.
also done the soldering part but still cannot.
could someone tell me what should i do?
my only solution is send back to Samsung service?
please let me know. appreciate and thanks.
but i guess the last resort is to send to samsung.
because once you accidently flash a rom not meant for the phone.
the hardware may work abnormal way that cause the hardware shorted
or damage.
then this damage is not revisible.
therefore only solution is to change the damage part....
now waiting for tomorrow to get the phone back from local phone repair,
and send to samsung.... no choice.
or.... if anyone have new method / attempt to try on my own???
I have the same problem.TT
use this link.. may help you...

Well that's the reason why you need to read first and set your expectations that this might happen... If you read and carefully understand the methods of rooting/installing custom roms then you will be safe.

Failed to flash, phone dead.

Good day people,
First of all. I want to say that I am aware of the forums regulations and that I have to use the search function before even creating a topic but I found nothing related to my situation.
A few days ago ( 3 ) I tried to flash my Samsung Galaxy SL i9003 with a the following ROM I9000XXJVU_I9000OXAJVU_OXA. Bare with me before saying that it's not compatible because it is a i9000 ROM. Which I wasn't aware of due to my foolishness at the beginning. I did not even bother to look for any consequences of what could happen of a unsuccessful ROM flash.
After flashing my phone with the i9000 ROM, odin said everything was successful, my phones screen turned bright light green. I turned the phone off and plugged out the cable. As far as I'm concerned, on the Q&A it said that flashing i9003 with a i9000 rom it would brick the phone. But this isn't the case. When I try to power the phone, it doesn't power at all, no signs of life. No button combination work. I have tried to make a custom JIG for it, using the 301k/300k Ohm resistor method, unsuccessful. Can any of you provide any information of how do I proceed? Maybe it is the batteries fault? I don't know. If the only option is warranty repair, I have broken the given rules and it will be most likely voided. Does any of you know what could I say ( lie ) to not get it voided?

I am glad at least u are aware of wrong rom flashing. Anyway ur phone is dead now. Simple solution is go to samsung service center & tell them a fake reason such as while updating ur phone via kies ur phone switched off automatically. Purposefully tell them that there is no fault from ur side. Never tell them that u have attempted to flash anything from odin. Thats all They will surely take ur phone & they will repair it without any cost.
But be carefully from next time. Have a habit of read everything before flashing anything
Adding a little thing.

That IS a brick, and that is the correct meaning of the word.
A soft brick is when you flash a firmware and it boots to the SL logo, a hard brick (yours) is where the phone dies completely.
Just wanted to clear this
And you can give JTAG a go, search for somebody that offers it first.

Actually your phone is not void of its warranty for you didn't even root the phone. So warranty is still intact. You just have to come up with an excuse.

can we get back to stock

hi
guys i did read around could not find any answers may be i missed it sorry
but my question is after rooted adding CWM and custome rom is their a way to lock the bootloader and getting back the stock rom just in case if needed for warranty purposes
yes i do know that on unlocking the bootloader warranty is void but then our service guys here at least at my place are not all that techie so im sure we can get away with this
thanks in advance:laugh: and sorry if this has been asked and answered i did not see it
Yep, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569430 , but so far I didn't find anywhere on how to lock the bootloader properly, you can just make it "Re-locked", if you can put this past them, it's fine I tested two of them cos needed to use warranty. Keep in mind thou that services in my country, are rubbish, so I can get away with almost everithing.

There is one way to get guarantee back flash stock rom and lock your boot loader don't flash roms on locked boot loader u will stuck at htc logo try at your own risk risk of hard brick
Just stay away from warranty. Non-HTC repair shops will fix issues for a low price. Unless they are idiots who think a custom ROM causes my power button to go crazy after dropping my phone.
About bricks, I don't think we can do USB UART to make an unbrickable phone, but I've been messing a lot with my phone lately and haven't had it hard bricked yet.

What is USB UART ????????

How to brick Galaxy S6

Out of curiosity, is there way to brick this device to stage that for example warranty service can`t find out that it is self-inflicted?
Surely, flashing a bootloader not intended for the device is the best way to brick it?
i will do in that way :
flash engeniereng bootloader
flash a rom not suitable for your device ( ex. rom for 9200hk )
if still works, flash wrong pit file or modified wrong one )
Why would someone do that anyway???

I can tell you why someone would do that. This is purely hypotethical but here is one reason. Let´s say that you have rooted your device and lost your warranty. After that your camera starts to make buzzing noise and focusing don´t work. ie. this case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/galaxy-s6-camera-randomly-makes-loud-t3123724
Now you want to get that camera fixed for warranty, but they don´t accept it because Knox is tripped. But now if whole phone is bricked and be sent to warranty service, they have no other choice but flash stock firmware and untrip Knox and device will gain full warranty again. Or that is my theory anyway. I mean sometimes these devices just stop working maybe due faulty motherboard or something similar. Please remember this is totally hypotethical...

Dark ideas! I like it!
I bricked my G920F trying to get back to stock-rom. Nothing would work, Odin failed time after time (cm.bin). I could flash TWRP and used ADB to get back to stock-recovery, connected to smart-switch and performed emergency restore. Failed again.
I took it to a Samsung servicepoint (talking about Holland) and they immediatly found the custom flag. Phone wil be send over to Samsung now and, according to the lady at the servicepoint, Samsung does not even check. They just reflash it and send it back under full waranty. All I can do now is hoping she is right....
Still figuring out why everybody but me can restore a bricked phone through ODIN.
