[Q] Trouble mounting file system to PC - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Ive tried removing and reinstalling drivers. Seems like I have some issue whenever I try to mount to my pc it refuses and starts slashing the usb connected at the very top bar and then back to disconnected. Ive tried different ports, different cables to no avail. Also...if I try to plug into the ports directly on my laptop..it will simply fail and say no drivers installed. Whe it is seen by the pc its telling me the Quallcomm driver are not there. It was such an issue that when I went to flash back to stock the computer wouldnt recognize it and I had to set up a second pc to flash back.

Seems windows has decided that it is a Qualcomm HSUSB device and wont mount on the second laptop now.

Does your phone power on? When people are hard brickdb thats the same thing thay happens

nah its up and running fine.

In that case very strange. Did u try deleting your drivers. Restarting your pc then installing kies?: it has the drivers you need

I had this problem before, what I had to do was remove any evidence of any Samsung Drivers on my PC, uninstall Kies. Then reinstall Kies, and keep it open while you connect your phone. That worked me, hope it works for you?

did you go as far as deleting everything from the registry? Ill do it Monday when I get to work as I didn't try the re installing on kies. Just odd.

No love and now same issue on two laptops. I have removed drivers and kies and tried reinstalling kies..removing installing drivers. What I AM seeing is
Even ID 5038 in the security logs
Code integrity determined that the image hash of a file is not valid. The file could be corrupt due to unauthorized modification or the invalid hash could indicate a potential disk device error.
File Name: \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\FsUsbExDisk.Sys

Other devices plug up to both laptops just fine??
i had something like this happen. and i had to remove all samsung drivers and and went into device manager and unistalled any updates. rebooted. ran the samsung drivers again. then rebooted. and it worked.
the other time this happened, i did the same procedure with the rebooting and installed keys and rebooted and left kies open while pluging it in (with a pc internet connection) and it searched and found the drivers online.
if you have tried both of those then im out of ideas.
hope it gets resloved.

I actually rebuilt an entire system to test it out..I have it working on it but its still not recognizing %100. Ill keep banging on it between user calls

SGS4G Drivers Problem?

I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I recently picked up a SGS4G and I immediately wanted to root it. When I plug my phone into the computer, however, the computer doesn't recognize it. The phone recognizes that it is plugged in (green android pops up, gives option of Kies, Media, or Mass Storage), but nothing happens on the computer end. I've downloaded about a million drivers and still no change. I've tried downloading Kies for drivers, but Kies doesn't even recognize a phone is plugged in. I've even downloaded drivers for the original Vibrant, but no luck. It's frustrating because I think that is the only reason my OneClickRoot keeps getting stuck on "waiting for device". Anyone have any ideas?
If you're using a 64 bit system, make sure you get 64 bit drivers.
Got a 64 bit system, got the 64 bit drivers. I even tried the 32 bit drivers just for the hell of it. Nada.
I dunno where you got your drivers, but here's the exact one I used.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38496926/usb_drivers_GalaxyS_x64.zip
I got mine from the "How to Root" thread in the SGS4G Bible thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1025610
I had problems with my drivers before. I downloaded Kies Mini from Samsung's site. I used Kies to install the drivers and haven't had a problem since.

Ditto what Jerry said. They work like a charm.
Well I finally got my computer to recognize that my phone exists, but now I keep getting a message saying that the drivers have malfunctioned. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times now, and no change. I can't get Kies to see my phone, or I'd try to download through it.
I'm at work so I don't have my Kies with me lol but you should be able to install the drivers. You can't do anything with Kies because the drivers aren't installed.
Look at the "options" in Kies to install drivers.
Sorry for the non technical directions. I only used Kies to install the drivers that one time.
Kies doesn't give me any option to install drivers. There isn't even an "options" tab. Even with my phone plugged in, Kies stills asks me to plug in a device. I've tried connecting my USB through Mass Storage, Media Player, and Kies. I've also tried all the above in USB debugging mode. I've even plugged it in in download mode. Still nothing. I keep getting the message that the drivers are malfunctioning.

Try this (sorry if I made this seem novice-like, but I just want to try and be clear):
Open a command prompt
type this, followed by Enter: set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
type this, followed by Enter: devmgmt
Once Device Manager opens, click View on the menu bar and select Show Hidden Devices
Expand both "Modems" & Universal Serial Bus controllers" & uninstall anything that has Samsung Android USB Composite Device, Samsung USB Composite Device, Samsung Mobile Device, Samsung Mobile Modem, etc.
Once the devices are gone, maybe reboot (probably not necessary, but why not?) and try the USB driver install again.

Ya, I didn't think there was an actual Options tab that is why I put options in quotes. I remember hitting install drivers when I installed mine months ago. It was very easy.
It sounds like you need the kind of help Steven is giving.
When you do get your computer to recognize your device I highly recommend installing the drivers through Kies. After many many flashes the have never let me down.
I wish I could be of more help. I've seen your problem in here before and our Helpful Members always get it figured out.
Best of luck!

Try USB Debugging
Oddly enough try only using the same USB port you originally installed the drivers on. I have noticed with windows 7, it tries to install the drivers when you change USB Ports, then again it should do this if they are on a separate controller.
As stated above, use USB debugging.
Hopefully we'll get you an answer that works.

Well, I tried Stephen's method, but still got nothing. I keep getting the error message. I just don't understand why the phone will recognize that it's plugged in, the computer will recognize that SOMETHING is plugged in, but it won't recognize WHAT.

Bummer, I Really hoped that would work. When you go into Add/Remove Programs does it show that the USB drivers are listed? If so, remove them there and re-try the installation.

I've tried that too, multiple times
I tried something different this time. In device manager, under USB Controllers, instead of deleting all the Samsung stuff, I deleted EVERYTHING (based on an idea I found on a Windows 7 help page dealing with error code 43). When I plugged my phone in, every one of the items I uninstalled reinstalled, except for "Unknown Device" (I'm assuming that's my phone), which came up failed. I'm not sure if this helps at all with diagnosing the situation, but I thought I'd throw it out there...
Did you retry Stephens suggestions after uninstalling everything?

[Q] Can't get past "Waiting for device to be detected" in debugfs

I need help here... I'm trying to root this thing and I don't know if I have a software problem, USB issue or phone problem.
Running Vista Hpme Edition 32 bit.
I downloaded the Samsung Drivers 1.4.6 or something and the comp said they were already installed. Now when I plug my phone in, it tries to install drivers again and hangs up on CDC Serial and MTP. It asks for a CD with driver info.
I tried deleting the USB drivers and restarting the comp to reinitialize them. I did a factory reset on the phone. Then I plugged back in and I am still at a stand still.
Since it said the drivers were already installed, I tried debugfs to root it. It just stays stuck at "Waiting for device to be detected".
How do I get these drivers to load properly so that debugfs can detect my phone?
In windows explorer, I can see the I535 and my internal and external cards... Grrrrrrrr

At that prompt it should also ask you to install them either way, choose yes... install the drivers then try opening up Odin and see if it can see your phone....
Your phone will have to be in download mode, and Odin should show some sort of recognition as in a COM port address in the upper left....
If that fails, follow the guide in my sig, droidstyle put together a great step by step instruction....(You can also follow the sticky about how to return your phone to Verizon in this forum that I put together, except to choose root66 and don't re-lock the bootloader)
Nevermind... I installed Kies and that seemed to remedy the issue. Thank you, though.

[Q] After update to 2.3.6, device won't connect to USB. Help!

Hi everyone! I've updated my Samsung Galaxy i9003L to 2.3.6 via Kies a few days ago, and USB connection has stopped working for seemingly no reason. The phone just charges but never mounts. Kies doesn't detect it either.
On Win7, when I try to connect I get the device listed as "Unknown Device", error 43. Have tried uninstalling USB drivers and reinstalling official Samsung drivers at least 5 times. Didn't work. Also, Kies doesn't detect the phone. Have tried running Kies' connection troubleshoot tool. Didn't work either.
I've tried connecting the device with 3 different USB cables (including the original Samsung one), and on different USB ports as well. Didn't work either. Also tried putting the device on USB Debugging mode, to no avail. I've also cleaned the USB port in the phone just in case. Problem persists.
My Linux netbook used to detect the device with no problem at all before the update. Now it doesn't detect it either. I've also tried my GF's Mac, but no dice. This makes me think this may be a phone error.
I've also tried the *#7284# USB/MODEM solution and rebooted my phone to factory settings twice already. Nothing seems to work.
I'd appreciate some help on the matter, this is driving me slightly crazy!

Hi! First of all, thanks for the help. I doubt this is a firmware problem, since neither mi Linux netbook nor a Mac computer detected the phone in any way, and they also used ot be able to detect it with no problem.

I have removed the drivers and devices.
Installed Keis Mini and then tried to install the above drivers listed by elbscorp.

phone is still not recognized by kies mini or odin.

That is why you need to uninstall all drivers for phone, reboot, install drivers, reboot, plug phone in DO NOT let computer search windows update.Once you stop it from downloading from Microsoft it will load drivers you installed.
I just tried it again. deleted drivers and rebooted.
Installed Kies mini and rebooted.
I have had driver search turned off, but double checked and rebooted for safe measure and it still installed the the generic drivers.
deleted drivers and devices the way i know how and used the link above to make sure.
I even went in Deview and made sure that the any generic driver was gone as well.
Still getting the issue.
Any other suggestions.
I'm at a loss not
what am i missing.

Which version of windows are you running,if running 7 when you plug phone in after deleting etc.you should new device installer telling you it is installing your new device, then it will say click here to view progress. Click immediately, when that pops up at bottom of it is link saying do not search microsoft for updated drivers. it will ask if you are sure yes you are. Then it will search computer and use drivers from Kies

That did not work for me, but i did find this:
You can get the results above in Windows 7 Home Premium through the registry editor ... not going to tell you how to edit the registry... I'll assume you know how...
Add/update the following DWORD value in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DeviceInstall\Restrictions]
"DenyUnspecified"=dword:00000001
I had to manually add the "DeviceInstall" and "Restrictions" keys, then add the dword value "DenyUnspecified" and set it to 1.
To turn enable again, change DenyUnspecified to 0.
Now that i have stopped the automatic windows driver install, I thought i would be Ok but I'm still having issues with the proper infuse drivers. this just sucks odin will still not recognize my phone.
Ok any help.
I was able to stop windows 7 from installing the generic drivers by editing the registry, but the computer will not recognize the drivers from Samsung direct download or kies mini.
When doing a search to choose the driver windows 7 will not detect the drivers
I have tried the drivers from above, kies mini, kies, and samsung. no luck.
with the generic drivers it will still mount the storage cards no problem, adb works i just cant get odin or kies to work.
Install keis and don't let windows search for drivers

Any luck getting your phone to show up? Windows doesn't even acknowledge my phone is plugged in. This is on my win7 laptop, my pc still connects to the phone fine. Tried 3 different cables and reloaded drivers/rebooted several times. Phone does charge however.

Sorry no luck here, I gave up on the process. I gave the phone away to some one that needed a phone and i know would not be doing any technical stuff to it.

Is my Device bricked?

All I see is a google logo, not rebooting just staying on the screen. I am pretty sure I deleted the operating system, but I can't seem to get in recovery. What lead up to this was me not being able to connect the device to windows over usb, nothing in device manager, I couldn't even get adb to connect even through twrp sideload. But now I think I caused a whole new issue. I'm just trying to get back to stock rooted lol. Advise?
Edit: unpluged battery and replugged it in, got into recovery now, still having issues connecting so I can flash a rom.
Edit: I have the google usb driver installed from the android sdk. I still can't see my device in windows device manager nor I can't see it through adb. still searching around for a solution.
Edit: I found my old rom still on the device so I was able to install that to actually use the device. I still can't seem to connect to the pc in any way though. I have usb debugging checked drivers installed. Windows just doesn't seem to think a device is there.

Try toggling MTP and/or PHP in USB options.
Your device might show up as an adb device in Device Manager.

Use a different usb port, different cords, or even a different computer, until you get a pc to recognize the phone.
I had this. It was because not all USB leads have data. Even some that do are wired different. Use the original or HTC work fine with N5 as I've both brands
