That's why personalize doesn't work. Already tried it on my own (a couple of weeks ago) by freezing up HTC Sense from Titanium and observing the behavior. Currently we're having too many dependencies between HTC Sense and other apps/widgets.
thats right, sense is such a pain. thats the reason why i removed it.
rom is still stable on day four without sense. everything works fine so far.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
The search button doesn't bring anything up.
Long press brings up the option, I have "in app WiFi toggle" but short press vibrates and nothing else.

Could be a behavior of the missing HTC Sense (haven't checked it yet).
My Rom available is shrinking all the time, now only 45mb.
Not put anything extra on since it was over 70!
Anything above 20 is better than out of the box tho.
Anyone else's Rom getting smaller with everyday use?

Remember to do factory reset data and move apps to SD card. I'm running on stock, I have 60 MB free and a lot of apps.
i tried the factory reset, all it did was (surprise surprise!) reset everything back to square one.
had to reinstall all the apps, password, wifi - all of it!
in the guide you indicate they will all be there but as its a reset, how can they be?
Did you have your gmail account setup for your phone? Also were your backup and restore settings activated? (They are activated by default).
The thing is this works like this:
You setup your gmail account.
You download apps & stuff.
You sync your Gmail account with backup and restore activated.
When you do a factory rest and re-sync again, all your apps start downloading again.
forgot to say (no excuse, sorry)
thanks freakysands for the rom!
trying 1.4 right now
hmm, some of my apps are acquired from non market sources maybe thats it
thanks Alex, i'll try again
1.4 market keeps fc
shame tho, looks nice!
market with fc???
how did you flash the rom?
4. wipe data/factory reset
5. wipe cache partition
6. choose advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
did you perform point 4-6?
I did indeed, most odd,
I tried 3 of the sources too, do you have the md5 sum maybe please?
Your ROM looks most suited for me too, so I'll keep trying!

Occurs due to the same contact featuring in multiple accounts that are being synced on Android, which leads to a conflict.
Factory data reset should fix this problem. (not tested)
partition issue and link2sd
Dear all:
I partitioned my 16GB card into three partitions
primary: 11.x GB FAT32
primary: 0.87 GB ext3
primary: 0.38 GB linux-swap
For some reason, Link2SD couldn't mount my ext3 partition. (it kept saying it's not mounted)
any idea why this is the case?
I use Gparted software on my Desktop Linux to partition my SD card. In the past (HTC Leo with Android ROM), I never had any issue with this kind of set up.
any help / idea on where went wrong really appreciated.

I've noticed that when I restore apps after upgrading from 3.6.x to higher versions. I would lose Daemon Controller and other apps that are included in the rom. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. This is usually how I upgrade:
1) Complete Backup using 4EXT Recovery
2) Superwipe
3) Install Rom
4) Install Add-Ons
5) Backup and Restore -> Advanced Backup -> Restore Data
This would restore all my apps and settings to the way it was before I upgraded. Would using Titanium Backup preserve the apps that are included in the rom? I would like to keep all my apps and settings as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
If you are simply going from 3.6.x to 3.6.8 ,there is no need for a super wipe, you only have to install the ROM.
All your data and settings will remain intact.
You will only lose any mods you have installed.
These can be re-installed after your first power down/power up.

Make it like me
1) Complete Backup using 4EXT Recovery
2) Superwipe
3) Install Rom
4)Make a backup of Daemon Control with Titanium Backup
5) Install Add-Ons
6) Backup and Restore -> Advanced Backup -> Restore Data
7) Restore with Titanium Backup your Daemon Control
You restore with the methode all your apps or homescreens (lol homeworks :S !?)...
8) Have fun
@malybru: Thanks! I thought you always had to Superwipe or it was recommended. I'm just worried about going from 3.6.8 to 4.1.x. Can I use the same method of restoring making that jump or are the backups not compatible?
@StormUltimate: Thanks! That should work. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that lol.

Hi,
Super wipe WILL be necessary to go from 3.6.x to 4.1.x.
3.6.x is a 2.3.4 based Sense 3.0 ROM
4.1.x is a 2.3.5 based Sense 3.5 ROM
You only need to super wipe when you switch from one base to another.
Personally,I would not use CWM backups when changing bases.
Backup in Titanium Backup, and only restore user app data.
Absolutely never restore system data.
If I only restore user apps, does that mean I'll have to manually input the settings for all my system apps? Homescreen, Wi-Fi Settings, SMS, MMS, etc.

Hi,
Why not try Go Sms Pro.
It's a free app from the market.
You can save those settings in TB.
As for wifi, homescreen etc. yes,you have to do those manually.
You only do this when you change bases.
+ it only takes ten minutes.
I don't know if it is already answered but I can't find a clear answer for my problem.
Every time I flash a new ROM I have to factory reset so to judge fairly the performance and the stability of each ROM.
I use Titanium Backup to backup/restore my apps and the data of these apps.
My question is :
Can I restore, after a clean install of a ROM, my system settings? When saying system settings I mean my home widgets, my wallpaper, and every setting of my system, so to be the exact same setup but with the new code of the ROM.
Is that possible or I am dreaming...?

I do not think this is possible.. But you can take screenshots of all the launcher's screens, and write each widget's name on a paper so you can just install and move them as you have had them before.

Lol, I know the feeling. xD I also love to customize my TF101 as often as possible so I can get a new design.. I'm always curious about those. Now I'm gonna remain on Rayman's JB 4.2 ROM as it's so cool xD
And your welcome
For the history, I was trying all night and finaly I can tell that TB cannot restore all settings.
The best result was when I check from menu the choise "Migrate Data". TB restored some of my settings. Only wallpaper and widget I had to setup again. From android settings menu almost everything was there as before flashing. Although I have to check all settings for right config after each flashing attempt.

Do you know which specific "app" in Titanium restored your settings?
Titanium backup
I do not think that TB will do what you ask for.
In general, when you switch from one version to another of the same ROM all settings remain unchanged. When you move from one to another ROM and then do a full wipe the settings are lost.
You can facilitate your work, use a launcher (Nova or others) that they have in themselves the function backup / restore and also import from other launcher. In this case'll get your wallpaper, your widgets etc ... But not the Wi-Fi settings, audio setting, etc. ...
My Photon came with an entire folder full of Chrome bookmarks that I can't delete.
Im rooted, where is the XML file that has these in there so I can delete them?
Freeze or delete (better freeze) the following app:
com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks
-> PartnerBookmarksProvider.apk
-> PartnerBookmarksProvider.odex
ASA14 state.

Thanks, what does ASA14 state mean? Im new to motorola, I was running Cyanogen on my Epic for a couple years, but Im still learning about the moto.
I dont see this application "com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks" when I go to Settings -> Apps -> All
Should I look somewhere different?
Also do you know what deoxed and oxed means?

ASA14 is the version of firmware.
I would use Titanium Backup to 'freeze' the application as previously indicated.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1919843 for your deodex/odex question.
Right, ASA14 is the firmware version.
I don't have any other name, as I'm now on CM10.
I use App Quarantine to freeze apps, enable the option "show details in app-list"
(or something like that, have the german version) and you'll see the "com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks" name.
Titanium Backup freezes only in the payed version.
to customize my lock screen i tried using holo locker.. it is ok but stupid htc ring shows itself from time time :silly: i got also a no lock app, and tried to combine it with holo locker, but it doesn't helps- at the and i can always see the ring can it be disabled on stock ICS rom by any trick? root maybe?
Try GO locker.Have option to disable system lock. Not sure if it works on ICS.

on desire s ICS stock rom GO locker lags as hell , and there is no option to disable stock locker (it directs you to system settings and on ICS there is no option to disable the locker)

With root you could delete the system app that controls the lock screen. May throw force closes or bootloops at you though so best make a nandroid backup from recovery before hand

Then only way is what heavy said.Unlock, recovery, back up,root or install custom rom.

Oh, no, there are no ill side effects from deleting the HTC lockscreen APK - it will just replace your lockscreen with the stock ICS one (yes, getting rid of the ring )
