Good Night Guys! I'm Brazilian so sorry for poor english.
I read about the CWM to Samsung GT p1010 on the another forum, but I didn't find the file and the tutorial, so can anyone help me?
Thank you very much!!!
First thing I would try is doing it the same way it's done on most phones:
1) Install ROM Manager from the Market
-----If you don't have market access, you can download it to your computer, connect to your computer, and copy it from your computer to your device.
2) ROM Manager is fairly self-explanatory. There's a button: "Flack ClockWorkMod Recovery." You now have ClockWorkMod, if it's supported by your device.
Thasks NType3,
But after the install, when I choose backup rom, the backup and restore options don't appear.
On the XDA Developers forum, the user skin1980 post that develop a compatible version (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386643), but I don't know where I can dowload it...

Hi, I'm new here! Just happen recently owing an Android MID/ Tablet and try to learn something from this site. Below is my device detail:
Brand : IROBOT
Model: EM73
CPU:Telechips 8803 Cortex-A8 1GHZ
Android Version: 2.3.3
Kernel version : 2.6.35.7
Built number: EM73_AK_GC2M_V1 20110516
And able to set up the 3G with Huawei Dongle E1750 and work fine. And now I'm trying to learn how to root this device so that I can set superuser. I have tried using Z4root and set it either temporary or permanent root but failed, by checking with the terminal emulator command as below:
$ export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH
$ su
su: uid 10058 not allowed to su
$
Any other methods or way to root this device are most welcome.
Please help to shade some light, helps will be very much appreciated.
p/s: sorry for poor English.
Thanks in advance.

Hi doortodoorsalesman, I have copied the dump-recovery-signed.zip and renamed it to update.zip in the root of my micro SD card, and going to do dump stock recovery, and follow with install ClockworkMod Recovery 4 procedure. But just before i go ahead with these, how to make backup(dump) stock recovery and where to download recovery.zip (file name?) Your help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I did the same but found that the dump recovery did not work. All that dose is backup the original backup program. Clockworkmod is far better than the stock program, once you have clockworkmod on your tablet u can do a back up. That will backup everything. Make sure you do a backup as soon as you can and always do a backup before you try messing around with system stuff.
I made the mistake of forgetting to backup before I started messing with it.
Cockworkmod installed fine on mine. To do a backup after, turn off the tablet hold down the back button and hold down the power button when you see the green man keep the back button held down. Clockworkmod will start , select back up and do a full backup.
There should be instructions inthe thread on how to navigate clockworkmod.
Let me know when you have done a backup.
Sent from my EM73_SIS_GC2M using XDA App
After you have got clockworkmod you can root it using the super user file like parastie did. I took me a while to find the right version let me know if you need a copy.

In the sentence that you replied, need to do the back up before install clockworkmode recovery 4, but how to do the back up in our device, is it just go to setting-privacy-backup my data or other methods? And also where to find the correct clockworkmode for my device? Is it the software under Telechips custom firmwares - //github.com/naobsd/cm_device_telechips_tcc8803? Sorry for being noob. And seeking for your expertise and advice. Thanks in advance.
p/s: I have done the dump stock recovery, but can't find the file as what Parasite stated :Files will be copied as /sdcard/dumped_recovery.img and /proc/mtd will be copied as /sdcard/dumped_proc_mtd.txt. Look like nothing is happen...
Dump stock recovery dosen't work on our tables. You need to do a backup after you install clockworkmod.
Just follow the idiots guide to install clockworkmod. Then do a backup in clockworkmod.
Then follow the instructions to install super user, if u can't find the link to get the right superuser file let me know as I have a copy.
Sent from my EM73_SIS_GC2M using XDA App
By the way, how to get the correct clockworkmode for my device? And base on what to determine the correct clockworkmode? Is it on the CPU? Kernel version? Built number? Model? I'm keen to learn all these, please help me.... help will be very much appreciated.

hey
I recently created an application called Android Recovery Manager
The version on the other thread is V1.0.
My sensation has been stolen, so for the moment I can't test future updates for the application, and I don't wanna give up on developing it...
I had plans for the next releases, and it really took me lots of efforts to finish it, so I'd like to know if anybody is interested in testing?
The update is ready for testing anyway
Tell me what you think
Thanks!
I am assuming from the name of the app you must be rooted and more than likely have Clockwork Mod Recovery on your device as well correct?

Not at all, you only need S-Off
The application manages your recoveries, it can flash any recovery you want.
You can either install a recovery image from your computer locally, or let the program download a recovery for you from the always up-to-date list of recoveries.
You can check the other post for screenshots and more info
Anybody?

I don't mind testing it out for you.

So here is the download link.
Please extract the "RecoveryManager.exe" before using it as there will be files generated next to it.
So, I'll need you to install any recovery (Stock or Custom) and send me the log file when it has finished (You'll find an XML file in the Log folder in the same place as the application)
I hope I'm not asking a lot
Thanks
The application has been downloaded 2 times, can anybody tell me the results please?
test version
Downloaded two recovery files for the XE and flashed the CWM 5020 again on my device.
Rebooted into OS, no problems sofar.
The programm is selfexplaining and you can stop before flashing and think things over.
When I restart the programm and want to search for an recovery file on my HDD its going to the last folder I was using before,
thats OK

3. Learn how to flash custom ROM to your phone here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPIn_XZkI8U
4. Back up your phone in ROM manager.
5. Use Titanium backup to back up all apps + data and use Super Backup to backup sms, contact & call log (these apps are free and can be downloaded via Android Market)
6. You will need to download Custom ROM either Cyanogen 7.1 or MIUI to use Khmer Unicode. CM 7.1 http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=glacier
or MIUI: http://dev-host.org/kozlw9j9my8f/MIUI.us_glacier_1.12.16_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed_TDJ.zip
7. After you flash either of this ROM please download this one: http://ubuntuone.com/7NUVkI862sTvgu5A14bbJk and put it in your SD card. Flash it via recovery the same as flash ROM.

STOCK GB ALL THE WAY TO JB CUSTOM ROM
If you run Gingerbread, start from A directly
If you run un-rooted Jellybean, start from B
If you run rooted Jellybean with a custom kernel, start from C.
If you run rooted Jelly Bean without a custom kernel, start from B, but skip number 1 and 6.
You might want to read this before starting, it is optional though, but will give you a better idea of what you're doing.
GUIDE
This guide shall guide you through turning your suckish GB i9070 (not i9070p) to Custom ROM JB Awesomeness.
Unless your phone shipped from Russia, it probably has Gingerbread preinstalled... so, let's first Jellybeanize it.
A) JELLYBEANIZATION:
Download Odin3 from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...1&d=1341114315. Extract it into a folder.
Download Stock JB firmware from here. http://hotfile.com/dl/222710569/1f2...m-GT-I9070-TSR-I9070XXLQE-1365486223.zip.html . Extract it into a separate folder, you will get a .tar.md5 file.
Make sure you have Kies installed, but not running.
Turn your phone off, and boot into Download mode, this can be done by holding the Vol.Down+Home+Power buttons together at the same time, till it boots.
Press Volume up to continue. Plug in your phone (make sure it's at least 60% charged) . Wait till Odin recognizes (It should say something like COMORT... to the left).
Click on PDA and choose the firmware (.tar.md5) that you extracted in step 2. Click start.
Right now, a virus which will fry your phone's internals is being installed... Calm down, joke.
When your phone boots into JB, and Odin says "PASS". Unplug.
NOTE: There is a chance that you will get a bootloop ( i.e. Android won't boot ). No, no, no... your phone isn't broken! Simply reboot to stock recovery by powering off, then pressing Vol.Up+Home+Power buttons together and wipe data/factory reset. It'll boot nicely
Now, you are currently on a stock Samsung Jellybean firmware, which is not rooted. This basically means that you do not have access to modifying the system files in your ROM, which means that you cannot install any custom kernel, custom recovery or a custom ROM... In section B, you will learn how to gain root access, install a custom kernel with a custom recovery.
B) ROOTING, KERNEL & TWRP/CWM:
Download Shaan's root from here http://d-h.st/ook
Download Temporary cwm from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1987313
Download CoCore + TWRP (TWRP is one of the two recoveries available, we will use it in this guide because it looks less intimidating, and it's touch-enabled ) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...8&d=1363518705
Place all 3(or 2 if you're rooted) zip files in your external SD card
Power off. Boot into recovery by holding Vol.Up+Home+Power.
By navigating via volume buttons, choose install zip from external sd card, and install root.zip... shouldn't take long.
In the same way install update.zip. Now in a few seconds, you will get a different screen, this is Clockworkmod recovery, albeit a temporary one..
In this recovery, go to install zip, then install zip from external sd, and choose CoCore+TWRP. After installation, keep going back until the main cwm screen, and hit reboot.
NOW, Everytime you boot into recovery (which is the way to backing up and installing custom ROMs) you will get TWRP.
Now, you are rooted, with a custom kernel, and TWRP ( a custom recovery). You can either stay on stock Samsung firmware, or continue through section C, and get yourself a custom ROM.
C) INSTALLING A CUSTOM ROM:
Download any custom ROM (Recommendations at the end of the thread) zip and place it in the root of your external (or internal, but i prefer ext.) sd.
Boot into recovery.
Navigate by touch, press backup, and slide as instructed to make a backup.
Go back to the main screen and choose install. If the zip has been placed in ext. sd. then press on external sd and choose the appropriate zip and slide to install. If placed in internal sd, then choose internal sd from the top and go to /emmc folder, and choose zip and install.
When finished, navigate to the recovery home, and press reboot sytem.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q- Which of the above will increase my binary counter?
A- None! Let me clarify how the binary counter is tipped. The only way the binary counter can be increased is if you flash anything that is non-official Samsung signed, via Odin.
Q- How do I unroot?
A- You can unroot simply by following the steps in section A and not continuing with the rest of the guide.
Q- I encountered a problem, what now?
A- If the problem is related to this guide and the steps followed in this guide, then post it here, I'll try to help when possible. If you encountered a general problem not related to this guide, please post a thread in the Q&A/Troubleshooting section.
ROM Recommendations
If you want a fully stable ROM, with everything working, Cyanogenmod or Cyanogenmod based ROMs currently do not fit the cirteria, as they some bugs still remain in these. So, you may try one of the stock based ROMs.
[AOSP Themed] - JellyMod - by martin_carpio17 Link here
[S4 Themed] - Light JB - by petraru1 Link here
[AOSP Themed] - Pure Vanilla - by ikaster17 Link here
[Xperia UI Themed] Galaxperia - by Achyut Link here
However, if you'd still like to go for most change, and don't mind the small bugs, then you may try Cyanogenmod or the Cyanogenmod based ROMs below.
Cyanogenmod 10 - by diego-ch and other contributing developers Link here
MIUI v4 - by fedevd Link here
Paranoid Android Port - by nlygamz Link here
Cyanilla - by ikaster17 Link here
This is basically it for this tutorial! Finally eh? But really now, all the above is very very easy once you get used to it, I mean, all the sections in the guide, A, B and C can all be done in 5 minutes, but I've simplified everything as to suite everyone's experience.
Hopefully this guide was useful for you...
If I made any mistakes with this, please correct me

My only concern is that I created a backup of my previous ROM in the internal storage and now just 33MB space is available for installation of apps. Can you please tell me how to 1. Thanks !

I have already tried that, but I am not able to identify the backup. I had used to TWRP to backup and then flash JellyMod. I had looked up on some threads that the backup will be in SD -> TWRP -> Backups (or something similar to this), but there is no such folder in my phone.

in your file manager browse to ext_sd. from within ext_sd you should have a folder labeled nandroid..
also, by default, the backups should be labeled/dated accordingly..
you could also get details on each file from within file manager that will give you more specific info. date created, etc..
hope this helps..
Thanks guys, but I think I didn't make myself clear. The backup is present in the 2GB memory reserved for installing apps. How do I access that storage and remove the backup? I'm an android beginner, so pls have patience with me.

Hi, i try to root this phone and i don't found the way.
First of all, this is the phone info:
Hardware : MT6575
Model : TSD A93000
Build number : SJ_A952_A881_M00_S07_120827
Build date UTC : 20120827-095217
Android v : 4.0*
Baseband v: MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V10, 2012/07/03 17:10
Kernel v : 2.6.35.7 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.4.3 (GCC) ) #1 Mon Aug 27 17:45:08 CST 2012
(if you need more info, only demand me)
* I think that this phone IS NOT Android 4.0 because tap-in several times in "setting→about the phone→Android version" show the Zombie Arts by Jack Larsson and also the kernel not belong to Android 4.0, for this think i doubt of the MT6575 processor, thereby, how can i be sure of this info? something apk you know?
When i connect phone (mode debbuging and unknow sources ON) at MTK Droid Tools last version, the software "not responding". I try to install several ADB drivers, but seems none work. The only way to "connect" is when MTKDroidTools is "not responding" i open a cmd window and kill the adb server with "adb kill-server", in this moment the MTKDroidTools stop and read the phone, in this moment i copy&paste the phone info up here. At this moment i click on "root" button but don't work displaying:
"Only through CWM it is possible to get root in this phone! look urls (url chinese) (url xda-developers)" sorry i can't post urls, under 10 posts
I try to follow the tutorial of the 2nd link ([GUIDE] How to ReadBack ROM using SP FlashTool, to make the CWM recovery, to install SuperUser (get root) etc.If your phone not rooted using the ROOT button.), but i can't because the phone not connect at MTKDroidTools for take back the scatter file and etc.
What can i do?
Sorry for the tocho

2. Then download Clockwork Mod Custom Recovery.
3. Then boot into recovery mode, and choose "install from SD Card".
4. Choose Clockwork mod recovery.zip, and it will boot you into a different recovery.

hello, i have tha same smartphone, can you please write the tutorial in english as well ? google translate isnot something i trust for these procedures.
Also som questions:
Do you have the original rom so that if we brick the phove we can revive it via SpFlashTools? Have you managed flashing CWM recovery?
It is very cheap for its characteristics.
Back camera is most likely 2mp (or 3MP) and front 0.3 for sure. I tried resizing and i found that out . Still more than acceptable quality. I got Antutu score of 4500. It is really high for 6575, since my old 6575 could reach 3700 and my current 6577 gets 6800. I really apreciate that too.
dont really understand what is the real clock of the cpu. . Antutu says 19998.84mhz which is rather impossible for a 6575. Cpu spy as well cannot retrieve the frequency states.
checking the gps now
