I know, but don't we need some updates. Nothing is wrong with keeping a thread for updates now that all are 100% possible.

The point of this thread is to be a place easily found by everyone in our forum for the devs to post new updates now that we have kernel source. Sorry but i couldnt find your thread here on our forum mate.

Stop hating... He clearly stated that he wasnt trying to tell how devs should handle their development.

that's odd, i started it before the first miui came out for our phone. but no big deal, i just wanna know what the devs are doing

Phresh... You've been in these forums long enough to know that not one of our developers are going to dignify this thread with a comment, especially since they have posted their "update plans" in the threads of their respective roms.

And leo trust me not knowing the ETAs make it easier to wait.. Cause if you know the due date then ull be super impatient and wont stop thinking bout it. Jus not knowing is best in my opinion!

I think an all in one thread for CM7 or MIUI updates shouldn't even exist, unless one of the devs working on the ports creates it. Then it can be stickied and we don't have to worry about searching through pages of flaming for the updates!

You realize since we have source now, it aint gonna be a port but a build just for us!

I say just keep your eyes on the Android Development section and keep your fingers crossed for the holy words to grace it .

So is this a thread to decide on whether to start a thread for miui or cm7 development?
Im all in favor of having a thread that the devs can give us periodic updates on their progress with the roms. As long as the thread has a rule that you can not ask in anyway for eta's.

If you look under the captivate android development section you will find a beginner's guide that will explain how to flash a custom rom. It would be very difficult to show you here as it involves numerous steps and is dependent on what your current set up is on your phone. If you have questions pm me

To the OP are you on AT&T? If not that post with the how to get back to gb instructions may not work for you, and it might brick you.
If you are not on att and one of the other leaks please ask this question in the thread you installed the leak from. If you are on AT&T then you should be fine with the link posted in this thread.

Question

Hi to you All.
I just have a Question and i really have no experience with this forum ( new to it ).
I don't know where to post my question, I posted it in a reply in some Threads but i didn't get any answer, so i posted it here and if there is anything wrong feel free to tell me in-order to learn .
I have a new international Samsung GT-N7100, and i wanna root it and put fine Rom in it.
How can i know that is a good Rom for me? What makes a Rom better than the others? Does Rooting legal or illegal?
Note: please send me a message with the comments and answers so that i can see it, because for my 1st time sure i will be lost .

Atrix2 has a locked bootloader so porting Ubuntu won't be possible

Nope. Jim said he's working on an Ubuntu port for SGS3 and CM10.1 for A2:highfive:

please read Noobs guide .... we have Q & A section separate !! ... and this (ubuntu for A2) is covered by "Jim" himself
second thing... please SEARCH BEFORE POSTING this is very first basic rule of XDA !!
