Hello,
I know this has been asked, but only on old threads.
I got a new i9023 (SC-LCD) and i'm using NexusBeam + 3.1.6-ICUP kernel.
However, my battery life cannot pass the 14/15h...
Should I just reflash the full 4.0.3 package (because I was on OTA before), or should I just go back to Gingerbread?
If 2.3 is the way to go, which ROM is better for battery life? I like MIUI's UI.
I'm getting pretty used to the ICS, I don't really feel to go back to 2.3, but...
Hi There,
Try to use Android Me (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421564) or BuglessBeast (http://download.peteralfonso.com/crespo/rom) with Speedy-3 (ICUP) kernel.
Charge your phone to 100% and do a battery callibration (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration).
Thank you very much. I already calibrated it before with this rom, but i'll try the one you said right now!

whats the problem?
i really want to update to 4.0.3
THANKS
You will have to update it manually, download the update and use the bootloader.
I tried every ROM with ICS and the battery is draining really fast, i recommend you stick to GB, and wait for ICS to mature.
Battery drain is the reason Google stopped the OTA update
Read this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13475125
And don't worry about bad battery life in ICS. It's a myth.

Myth? Just because u don't have that bug doesn't mean it's not there. After the OTA update my battery lasted for 6 hours max, even after clean install of stock ICS I couldn't get more than 8-9 hours while disabling some apps.
Which gingerbread rom do you use and why? I currently use the fjfalcon one but i think to maybe move to CronosX. So which one do you use and why?
I have tried many roms (probably most of them), and all I can say is my device couldn't handle them. Currently trying out the froyo cm6.3. Gingerbread+ roms were too heavy even with overclocked cpu and battery drain too.
2 Examples:
MIUI (both v1 and v2)
CM 7.2
If this keeps up I'll end up staying on stock 2.1 or buy a new device. (Or perhaps try out boot to gecko and tizen if I have the possibility)

me too but Peshovec flavor
is good for me
I am using CM 7.2 but battery drains fast. I get only 24h with very little use. Before I was using khalpower 2.2 and used to get more than 48h.
Hi guys,
I am a total n00b here and I pretty much upgraded my i727r last month when Rogers released the official version. I was getting roughly 12-14hr of battery life at when I was using 2.3.5/6 (I dont remember the version/official Rogers). Ever since I upgraded I am getting 6hr of battery life which in my opinion is unacceptable, I simply cannot function with this phone. So my questions is the following is there a way for me to roll back?
I was reading this thread and it doesnt mention if this is for Gingerbread or ICS.
THE ODIN THREAD :: Return to stock, fix soft brick :: 11/13: Rogers TAR!
I am wondering if I do decide to keep ICS and load some custom roms for example:
[ROM] SKYICS 4.2E-17(ULCE2) 6/18/12--- Amazing battery.CRT OFF!!!!!
It mentions that my phone must be rooted but ever since I upgraded to ICS it removed my root I initially did. I dont see how to root ICS version of the i727r everything I see is for gingerbread. Could someone also help me find that link or give me a step by step how to root my i727r running ICS.
Thank you,
Go with Sky ... I was getting 25 hours on light use.
First off, check your installed programs. There are MANY out there that with ICS installed automatically turn on your GPS. This would be a prime example of why your getting such bad battery life.
Secondly make sure of your OS version. Be that 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 or what ever it is. You may need to re odin the install.
I would say do a factory reset and reflash via keys of you don't want to flash cmw and run an ics ROM.
Went back to stock cause I thought I was having hard ware issues and was able to get much better battery life then you.
Decided on sky ics for MHL support as aokp and CM9 do not support and have found this ROM to have the best battery life.
Also find sky ics to be just as good if not better then when I was running GB (mhx 3.1 final)... No turning back now
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727R running SKY-ICS 4.2F-6
If you dont like tinkering with CM9/AOKP I found that SkyICS was pretty good for battery use.

This is what I wrote about battery life on another thread. :good:
i think that is not the reason, i got 35+ hours every charge cycle . i am on GB 2.36 nexus mod and with faux123 kernel. that is the best battery life kernel i have found .

I would install "OS Monitor" and try to find out what is draining all your battery. ICS has better battery life. It is the the OS, it is something with one of your apps that's not playing nice with ICS. You might even have the same problem with Gingerbread if you return to it because the app just doesn't work well on the Skyrocket.
I just found an interesting one today with OS monitor. Homerun Battle 2...leeches juice from my Skyrocket every 2 seconds. Had to remove it.
Thanks for the help guys,
I think I am going to give SKYICS a try. Especially since I have my SG2 from Bell here at work so if I brick my phone (knock on wood) I will have a backup phone just in case.
The only thing I am wondering is how do I root my phone, most guides are considering I am on Gingerbread and not ICS.
My goal is to follow the following instructions:
[ROM] SKYICS 4.2E-17(ULCE2) 6/18/12--- Amazing battery.CRT OFF!!!!!
Once again guys thanks for the help,
install CM9 man, it's incredible. Follow these instructions but instead of using their Alpha ROM use the nightly in the second link...

http://get.cm/?device=skyrocket (use whatever is at the top, it's the latest build)
Is the procedure to root ICS the same like Gingerbread? The only thing I find is how to root, Gingerbread.
This is literally 4 threads down from your post. You gotta look at least a little harder man...

I am sorry but liek I mentioned I am a n00b in that thread I only see a flashing the ROM, does that mean the ROM is rooted already?

It should work on the official AT&T release from what I read a few minutes ago. Still waiting for my update to complete to confirm.

I think you can use RUU from HTC to downgrade without root/unlock BL/S-OFF, I'm not sure but should work. Remember it will clear your phone's data, backup first.
4.0.4 from HTC on One S is really great power life. 4.1.1 could achieve nearly same result but you will need rooted and buy greenify donate on playstore, uses it to freeze all those annoying no use background services/apps and remember to enable power saver mode in JB. By using custom kernel and rom, the battery actually can be just as great as 4.0.4.
4.2.2 on the other hand, it drains a little bit more battery because of Blinkfeed and other stuffs.

Hi all,
After owning a One S for nearly 2 years now, my battery drain problems get worse and worse. Before it was updated to JB, the battery life was much better, but I haven't had much luck with either Sense JB or CM 10.
I thought I'd try an ICS ROM to get me through to June (when I can upgrade), but can't find CM 9 for the One S on the CM website - can anyone advise which ROM to install?
Thanks

The ICS rom's are all listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789812. The problem as you say will be download links, if you like sense try viper 1.2.1, that link still works. From my experience the sense rom's have much better battery management than AOSP. Or you could completely go back to stock ICS/JB using an RUU. For the record, the best battery life I've had on this phone is with MaximusHD. Also it could be that there is a problem with the battery and the ROM won't make a difference.
