Hi, I'm new in trying custom ROM-s.
I try now CM7, but I don't like calendar which is on CM7 in stock rom was better (nicer) kalendar... (this same with email aplication).
I read on one thread, that is not possible get HTC Mail apk into CM7... it is true or its way to have nice HTC application (mail and calendar) on CM7.... or what alternative do you use?
Sry for newbie question...
Pure Calendar widget and Apw both are very nice calendar widgets.
Not too sure about email clients as i only use gmail. I hear that K9 is meant to be quite good.

Hi, thanks for replay...
I try K-9 mail and it's good application...
And with calendar... I don't want calendar widget... I use Go Launcher Ex and it has a nice calendar widget (GO Calendar), but I mean Calendar app....
If I go add event to calendar.... in HTC Sense is beautiful environment... with nice datetime picker and pure android calendar is not so nice.... Do you know what I mean?
Thanks...
I know what you mean. Unfortunately I don’t know of anyone who does a calendar app as good as the HTC Sense one. I’ve had a look at all the top ones on the market, and they all either seem cluttered or ugly by comparison. Business Calendar seems to be the best. This is why I rely on the widgets though. They can look as nice as the Sense widget, and you can add events/reminders etc in a nice UI without having to suffer the calendar app directly. I also use Smooth Calendar widget to give a quick overview of the next 3 events I have coming up. It fits nicely under the Pure Grid 4x3 calendar widget.

Are there any Android widgets for stocks similar to the HTC Stocks Widget? I'm having a hard time finding a good replacement!

Anyone?
I just check google finance, that too rarely.
will be good to know which widget is the best.
Tried these? http://www.appbrain.com/search?q=stock+widget
Yep.
Stock Alert, as the name suggests, only allows for one stock. If you try to add a second widget for another stock, the first one changes too.
StockPrice Widget: I added a few stocks but could never get it to show any prices. It looks like it's a common issue as many others in the app comments are having the same experience.
I also tried "Stock Market Widget", but it had the same issue: no stocks ever showed up. It's a brand spanking new app (<100 downloads) so maybe it's not fully working yet.
I don't see any others with widgets, though plenty of them have people in the comments saying "needs a widget"
I guess there's no such app for stock Android eh? Man, the Sense widgets are just amazing.
I'd like to know too. At the moment I am using multiple instances of the Google Finance widget. Sub-optimal.

!!!!!
In all my searches, the Google Finance app never came up! I just tried it out and added a bunch of their widgets to my homescreen. Well... Compared to HTC's Sense UI widget, it's ugly and far from functional, but going by the lack of success in my searches (and lack of responses), I'm guessing this is currently the only way to do it on stock Android. Oh well.
I am trying to get GenieWeather Widget to work on my Thunderbolt.
I was looking at this thread and found these pictures.

Looking through the thread the app I am interested in was identified as: News and Weather by Google. Found on the system as GenieWeather.apk.
The first version I found did not work on my Thunderbolt. I couldnt find a version for the TB on xda but did on this website.
After installing I can not find a way to display the weather in the week format like in the pictures. Is the option just not available on the TB version or am I missing something?
You can't find the setting because it's not geniewidget. Looks like one of the simi widgets.
Just download Simi Clock Widget which includes the weather widget. Simi only lets you have one day, not the app in the pictures. Anyone else happen to know?
i think the weather app is beautiful widgets. it's a paid app.

thanks so much for clarifying guys. gonna purchase this app now, ill post a SS of my desktop after.
I left the sense rom and now using Adams rom. But I miss the news widget that sense had were you choose what news source you wanted and you where able to scoll thru it from you main screen widget. Any know where I can get on like that or if there is even like other then a sense one?
I am looking for one too for my wife. Going to change her home screen from sense to GoLauncher or ADWLauncher.

Been there. Was there for a long time. And there are two apps I've found which replace the HTC News Widget.
The best one (though not free) is Pure News Widget (Scrollable).
You can select any feeds, or just select from your Google Reader RSS feeds, select just 1 source for the widget, or select multiple... and it looks very similar to Sense (there are skins as well, one of them being a Sense skin).

The second one I've found (which is free) is called AtomaRSS Scrollable NewsWidget.
It's great, and even looks a bit like sense, fully customizable (though I'm not sure if there is skin support yet). Only thing is that it is a bit more complicated to set up and whatnot, but still not very difficult.

It would be awesome to have this and the hardware key startup app, like what they can do with siri, but you could choose the app to start.

funny you posted this. Koush wants to add this to CM7 he tweeted about it a week ago. maybe it will be a possibility soon?
what can I say?......I have same tastes and visions lol
This is one of the things I like a lot about Sense. The lockscreen does have these notifications, to a degree. Missed calls, texts, etc. But it'd be nice to see them support other applications, too.
Executive Assistant
There's an app called Executive Assistant that can replace your default lockscreen with this style of information. It's not flawless though. I wish there was an option to autohide the notification bar, as it's not needed when texts, emails, missed calls, facebook updates, calendar events, etc can be displayed directly on the screen as well as widgets (like whichever clock app you prefer). Also, I found that I had to use an app that disables the default lockscreen, otherwise I would get one popping up over the other most times. Overall, I've been much happier with it than with the default lockscreens on Sense or AOSP ROMs.
Check out widget locker lockscreen. You can customize a multitude of things for a lockscreen. Widgets, clocks, custom sliders, etc. Pretty nice app if you take the time to learn how to dial it in to your liking.

widgetlocker doesn't come close compared to executive assistant. best option I seen was miui and some iPhone theme
Looking for a decent weather widget. But before we go any further, I have tried beautiful widgets and HD widgets. I am looking for something like beautiful widgets 1x1 weather widget, but one that only shows a weather Icon, I don't need the text, current temp, ie, all that other stuff. It doesn't fit well with my themeing and skinning. Any ideas? Thanks!
UCCW.
I think you can pretty much design it yourself with this, or use and/or modify someone else's skin...

Thanks, I will definantly give that a go.
This is the app I use, though its a paid app, it has more weather information than I would ever need (or completely understand!). I like the widgets too, they look great, and the radar widget is super cool...

This is the app I use. You can customize and make all the clock, battery and weather widgets you desire. Mine is the paid version, but there is a free version as well. You can see mine below:
