[Q] Bricked an LG P505 - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I unbrick an LG P505? I rooted it, deleted a bunch of apps that I never used and when I deleted Nuance something or other it kept giving me an error telling me it had stopped working (apparently it was running on the background) and I couldn't get it to shut up so I shut off the phone. When I turned it back on again it was stuck on the android logo.
I've tried hard reset, but it gave me an error right after the LG setup thing and now whenever I try it again it gets stuck on the android logo screen again.
Any help?

Are you having custom recovery or stock one? And what error did you get when you tried to start recovery
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk

I didn't get to install custom recovery. Right now I managed to get to the fastboot mode screen, but I'm not sure that's gonna help in any way...

To start recovery hold volume down +home+power until it comes if recovery starts means u are not bricked but if you are getting fastboot error means your mobile is bricked to unbrick follow this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088046 and be sure to see every page of the thread for problems that may occur while doing it and their solutions
It works with p500 but I don't know about p509...

Stuck at S/W upgrade during update

Guys,
As using LG's software to update, my phone restarted itself after downloading then it went to S/W upgrade screen then the program says remove the battery bla bla and restart after I did that program never recognized my phone again and everytime I power on my phone it goes to S/W upgrade. Then I go into clockwork recovery and re install CM7 but still can't pass the S/W upgrade screen any ideas?
Ps. I know there is a topic like this but after they go into recovery mode, it somehow went back to normal but mine didn't.
I was on stock, never rooted before, when I tried updating. I'm now stuck on that same S/W upgrade screen. I've been trying many things, but I do believe I may have a brick. The LG software is giving me this error now.

I was rooted and running Light&Sinister.
I'm stuck on S/W update. I was rooted stock. I don't know what to do.
Going to be a bunch of bricks if this isn't figured out. I am in same boat. All stock.
If any of you guys figure this out, let us know.

Excuse me, but how did you get the software to show the log on the bottom of the jpg that you attached?
I was stuck at 4% for a while, so I clicked the update tab that was flashing and all of a sudden it started up again.
It all looked good, I have Gingerbread, but for Baseband version is says "Unkown" and I can't choose a network under Network Operators. Nothing shows up under search. When I go to Access Point Names, I do see T-Mobile US and everything looks to be the same as before, but I only have WiFi access.
Use [RECOVERY][APP]Update 6-16: One-Click ClockworkMod 4.0.0.2 NvFlasher
Flash CWM follow instructions
Boot into recovery
Wipe
Restore backup (I used stock rooted)
Remove Batt
Reinstall Batt and boot into recovery
Start LG Update
Now should see the phone and you can update
Mine is still updating will see if it finishes
Failed sent me to support
Links to the app your talking about and what all your talking about. Everything you said is foreign to me.
For those stuck try booting into bootloader volume plus power button. The hit reset froM there see if that works

Volume Down? Doesn't that just boot into recovery? Where does it say reset? I'm confused.
It doesn't
My will show the box and the little android and then boot to the S/W update screen

Same here, that's the stock recovery screen. I can flash either stock or clockworkmod from the apx loader by holding volume up and down, then plugging in the phone without the battery and using the nvflasher to flash whatever recovery I want. Other than getting into the recovery...I can't do anything without the S/W Upgrade screen coming up..damn you LG, damn you to hell.
Volume up plus power not volume down my mistake

[Q] Help Help Phone keeps getting in clockwork recovery mode

HI ALL,
i have unrooted my phone and then i,ve updated my phone but i forgot to remove clockworkmodrecovery now when i reboot my phone it keeps getting in recovery mode
Is there anyone who can help me?
I have the exact same problem!
I've tried restoring a backup, rebooting the phone, turning it off, install update from sdcard, formatting cache...
None to any avail. Please help!
I've tried about every option now, I've even tried downloading a ROM and flashing it to the phone. It still boots into Clockworkmod.
Can I throw my phone in the trash now?
Edit:
I don't have windows XP, so nope to unbricking your O3D guide.
Sdcard
I can only put the rom at my external sdcard i don know how to put someting in the internal flash
I've now tried flashing KingDroid.
It's still in the bootloop.
Why does it seem like no one even cares about this thread?

People care but if they don't have an answer for you it's not much they can do, tried pulling the battery I guess and using CWM to reset battery data and reseting to factory defaults etc?
People arent answering because there is already a guide on the forum explaining exactly how to fix this.

I have tried about every single option in the CWM menus, and I've tried pulling the battery at random times.
None of them worked.
I'm now going to remove Arch Linux from my PC to make room for windows XP. Sorry for my previous outrage.
Next time remove CWM from your phone before updating...
I just installed windows XP and followed the guide to the letter. I am now stuck with the firmware update screen. How do I get rid of this?
Flash rom
I,ve managed to flash the rom with the original v10D but itÅ› still booting in clockwork recovery mode pfffff
These phones really are hard to unbrick.
Tell me please how to exit Rekaveri. Reloading and pulling the battery does not helps, it means everything? brick?

If you're stuck at the "updating firmware" screen like me, you're simply ****ed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197108
use LG vip service.
I just called them, they said they'd "assess" my situation and that they'd call me back to tell me whether they'll replace it...
restore
Hi,
I have managed to restore a backup image but he is still booting in clockwork recovery what am i forgetting ????
Sincerely Snellie1972
Recover
I have recovered the phone with clockwork recovery with stock file
Optimus 3D 10D pre-rooted CWM restore but still it goes in too clockwork recovery at boot
What am i doing wrong ????
Thanks in advance
snellie1972
Unfortunately I was also able to get passed the clockwork screen but the phone is stuck on the update just like anybody else. I contacted the store where I bought it from and they sent me a prepaid box already to send it to them for repair/replacement.
As everyone says, at the moment it's not possible to recover from that state, sorry snellie.
If you still get the clockwork, then just follow these instructions but even so, you wont get passed the software update screen.
Flash
I have managed to flash using first de KDZ tool from LG en after that i have used te LGMOBILE update tool and just put in my imei and serial and it was downloading and restoring my phone so far so good but when it was Finished without any error it is still haging on update software ...
I don't understand why it is not going any further
Greetz

It's almost as if this firmware update screen is fake and an indicator for LG to see you ****ed your phone up.
Is there any known hacker even working on this?

Try this...it will work after that : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397393
tried it but i can't get it working
I always get a theme failure...
you will need to do do a full wipe. then install as install from sd card and locate the update file.

Hi, any luck with this issue?! I'm having exactly the same problem
You could try flashing the recovery through fastboot or even wipe the device and flash the ROM through fastboot.
Thanks... At the end I wasn't even able to get into Clockwork Mod Recovery. Found a guide on how to force my way into Clockwork Mod, and tried to load a ROM - without success...
I ended up leaving my phone on boot the whole night, and sure enough, it was working in the morning. Mind you, I've had it booting or more than half an hour before, and nothing happened.
So personally, I don't have an explanation why it works all of a sudden.
My suggestion is, leave it booting overnight and "hope for the best" - it worked for me.

[Q] PLEASE HELP! Completely stuck.

Hello XDA! New member here with a huge problem.
So I recently flashed Helly Bean 4.2.2 onto my Nexus S 4G and it was great, really fast! But for some reason, when my phone died and I powered it back on, it was stuck at the boot animation. I still cannot get passed it. Now I know an issue like this can be solved through the recovery (I use TWRP) but some months ago, my power button messed up. It's as if it's always in the pushed in position even though it isn't, it still clicks like the first day i got it. My phone automatically boots up when i connect my charger or put a charged battery in. I can get into fastboot mode but due to messed up power button, I can't scroll down to the recover option and even if i could, I wouldn't be able to execute it. So that's my problem, I'm stuck at the boot animation, and I'm stuck at the fastboot menu. Is there anyway I can reset factor settings/flash another rom/ or even revert back to stock and unroot from fastboot using some program?? I'd prefer not to lose anything on my SD card though, but if it has to be done then so be it. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
first.. did you eneble Usb debuging when you had a working rom..?? If yes then you should try this while you have the boot loop to get into recovery.. you could then make a factory reset and you should be fine.. I hope this helps you..

I did have USB-debugging on, always do. I've tried booting into recovery using the quick tools but all it says "booting into recovery" and nothing happens. My phone just stays on the boot animation
Thanks anyway though!

thank you so much for your help.somehow i got it back up and running
Had the same happen to me. It didn't want to go into recovery gave a message it failed. With some patience I manged to get the button combo to work for fastboot then did a flash-all of the factory image. I think the trick was it had to be plugged in to get to download mode and I think you may hit the power button slightly before the volume down. It was a bit tedious. I tried to recover the boot.img and that trashed things up worse, got no google loading logo or something odd. Anyhow flashing the full factory image fixed things!
Glad you got it resolved, maybe this helps someone else in the same spot.
