This is from Motorola's official blog.
"Bootloaders: It’s our plan to offer an unlockable/relockable bootloader, currently found on the Motorola XOOM, in future software releases starting later this year, where operator and channel partners will allow it. Going forward, check out MOTODEV, the Motorola developer network, for the latest information."
I guess what the other forums are doing is spamming Moto's twitter, facebook, youtube, and blog. Hopefully it will catch some attention if we keep pestering them about it.

The Moto Triumph will be released here in the US on July 19th and a forum would be awesome. I started this topic over in the Android Hacking section without realizing that this was where it needed to be. About 5 of us over in the other section signed the petition. Hopefully we have more luck here. I predict a lot of themes and roms for this device will surface. It is thought to be a rebadged Huawei Ideos X6, so it might be easier to develop for than other Moto phones.

Yes sir radio Shack will have it for sure. I'm already thinking of rooting this phone with super one click root lol
Definitely, need a section here. It's the first high end phone with Virgin Mobile and it will attract a lot of users.
I agree, please create a new forum section for the triumph.
I think the fact that when you search for this device on google, this thread comes up, will help us get our subforum. People are going to love messing with this phone.

+1 I'll buy this phone as soon as I see it in stores. Would love to root it and mess around with it!
+1 I too would like too see this forum and Motorola Photon 4G as well.
Im sure the photon will be getting a subforum in due time. Im campaigning for the Triumph to get one because I do not want it to be overlooked because it is a prepaid device.

Based on the response here, at HoFo and PrepaidAndroid- I can see this phone having a thriving community.

I'm keeping an eye on this phone. Rumor at HoFo was that Virgin was going up to $35 a month, but haven't seen any dates.
I really liked the Optimus V, and plan to move to Virgin sometime soon. A Triumph would be nice. Hopefully some 'slickdeals' happen on it soon.
Who's got the official update for Ice cream sandwich secondly in the world?

I've no idea about what hardware that Huwey uses... but I suppose there are other phones sharing the same SOC and that would make a good use of those binaries...

Only in North America, and that's only because the American gov't has limited the scope of Huawei's dealings with American carriers. They did so because Huawei works closely with the Chinese gov't and Congress didn't like that they would sell a lot of high end phones in the U.S. In the rest of the world, you can find high end devices that are competitive with Samsung and HTC.. So thank your Congressmen and women for that.

Skyrim FTW!
I find it interesting that absent from this list are the Xperia phones already announced to be getting ICS by Sony.
Forget the list. They go to the block.
But the point is ... WHEN !?
Cannot wait until Q3-2012, although stock 2.3.6 is very good now.
I'm sure most of us have heard the A2 was getting ICS back when Motorola announced it but some apparently live under a rock so this is for them
ICS Upgrade rollout begins in Q3 2012. The third tax quarter begins Sunday, July 1, 2012, and ends Sunday, September 30, 2012. That means that the "official" rollout of ICS for the Atrix 2 will probably occur in that time frame. The only exception being if someone catches it on a testing server. Right now it is currently in development at Motorola, and it will go out for testing at some point. That is when it might be possible to retrieve the data.
Besides catching it on the servers, how do you sign up for testing?

If Motorola does it like they did the 2.3.6 update, then you take a survey and enter your email and IMEI and some other information and there's a possibility that they will email you later with information about the update. But that only happens a couple weeks before the real release.
I wouldn't want to do it anyway, can't lose my root. In my personal opinion ics is too hyped up. I'm really not that impressed with it.

Very Nice! Although what it does not say is how long the implementation will take. By that time most everyone here will have most likely traded in their A2 for a Galaxy SIII. Or something more powerful. Look at how long ICS is taking to hit the US A2.
If we don't get JB the $100 offer will be useless to me unless Motorola makes the next Nexus device.
I wonder if they are going to skip ICS and go straight to JB (att version)? May this be what's holding up the ICS soak?

Keep in mind folks, as far as the "developing options" goes, I doubt that means unlocking the bootloader.
We already have a "development options" tab in our leak, remember? That may be why it's on the leak, because Moto was testing it before it was released.
This could be nice. But... if they expect to get the updates out by the end of the year, they ought to start kicking a** instead of dragging it. I'm hopeful.

Their phones are top notch, but they're locked, which is supposedly gonna change, so I'd take a hundred bucks towards a new Motorola if its unlocked, if not my girlfriend can have it. I'm personally one of the (what seems like) very few people who loves Motorola phones. Samsungs feel too cheap, and Sense causes lag.

ics still isnt even in testing phase... by this rate we would get JB by mid-2013 the earliest possible.
add to that, if you bought your phone on ebay, or outside usa, the $100 credit is good for toilet paper.

Well this a good place to cross-link threads: the Support My Moto Campaign - I see a few of us have already been over in that thread... not sure what we will really get out of this, but it's a good consolidated effort I suppose.
And, what you all talking 'bout? We already got some jelly beans for our phone (cm10 - pretty good start, so far) - and, I am pretty optimistic that we will get some other flavors of JB too.. so, I guess the news is not so disappointing.
On the other hand, I will be taking advantage of Moto in any way I can, so gimme that 100 virtual bucks!
Probably use it for my wife's A2 - she don't need unlocked bootloaders - heck, she wants me to put her back on GB after a week of ICS
Moto seems to make good quality phones/handsets.. but I will most likely move on to another manufacturer and keep my A2 as a backup.
Edit: We are on that list, but the plain ol' RAZR (xt910/912) is not?!? That's just wrong...
So is Motorola gonna pay for me to switch from at&t to Verizon? Otherwise that means nothing to the at&t crowd...

Yea man. The best way to do it, if you WANT a phone, save up the money and pay what you have to. Contracts get way out of hand when it comes to the small things. I'm currently tied down myself, but not for much longer. I'll most likely keep the A2 as a back up though since its still a very good piece of hardware AND I've grown quite fond of my A2 community (good people). And, honestly, I may or may not go with another Moto phone. It just all depends.
But all in all, this whole deal with Moto really doesn't bother me as bad as others are bothered. I mean come on, this phone is the shiz, and Moto really does make great phones. Its just from a developers point of view where things get sour.
Yes I went off topic a bit, but sometimes its needed for others to read and relate to.
