How would I go about removing the application names under the icons and also make them smaller?
ADW Launcher gives you that control.
Every launcher have that option. Of you want smaller icons, I would recommended to change LCD density from 240 (standard) to something less.

i currently have 7 homescreens and i'm not using all of it, i want to delete a couple.
how do i go about deleting an extended home screen?
TIA
I dont think you can with just stock. I use Go Launcher and can add/Delete the screens. Else I think you are stuck with them.
I believe Tweaked is correct. I don't think you can delete screens on Sense based roms.
well in my case I d like to have more than 7 screens but, I guess everyone s different :}
How is it impossible to delete the screens amount?

What rom are you using? Are you using a launcher?
I know on golauncher, when i 'pinch' on any home screen a window opens with all my home screens and the options to add or remove as i please.
just to clear things up. you CANNOT change how many screens you have with the stock Sense launcher. However, you CAN with many of the other launchers that are out on the market. Examples include , golauncher, ADW launcher, ect.. just go to the market and type "Launcher" im sure you will find one there
Hello all- The screen resolution of the Sensation is listed as 960x540 but is that for 1 screen or is that for a screen with the scrolling wallpaper, if that makes sense.
The resolution of my Galaxy S is 960x800 but the actual 1 screen resolution is 480x800.
I am assuming there are also 2 different resolutions for the sensation, what is the other one ?

What?
First off, the 960x540 is the actual screen resolution not scrolling wallpaper. Second, if you're using the sense launcher then your wallpapers don't scroll and the sense wallpapers are also 960x540.
On a ROM without sense or with sense disabled, the stock launcher would use a scrolling wallpaper of 1920x540.

OK cheers for the information everyone. I had a look at this mobile today and the screen is a beauty but was curious as to what the actual resolution was, or what both(?) were anyway !!
I think this is my next mobile after moving on from my Galaxy S.

Hey anyone else find that the sensation is faster with a lower resolution due to it not having to redraw/upscale apps?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk
didnt even know that was possible, is that what you have done? and if so how?
Not possible afaik
I used a free resolution changer from the market place
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk
Though it does make some from of the native app/programs look funny - so there's definitely a trade off there
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk
You guys can try this. I haven't tried it since I'm not rooted yet.
After changing resolution go into spare parts, unchecked compatibility mode, reboot.....and apps will appear correctly

That negates the whole point of having a nice qHD resolution screen.
Not possible afaik
Will give it a try
Reason why I went with this phone is b/c of the higher res.

Why buy this phone and then change the one thing that makes it so special?

Can we safely assume he changed his density and not his resolution?
Our resolutions rock a lower density. I love my insanely small text that is super clear!
Something interesting when you change the density to 200 and load up the new market in landscape mode. Looks and works just like my Xooms market. I can't wait for ICS!

Can anyone change the default HTC desire S app drawer?? Even Nexus one has got 3d app drawer....
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xze!da premium
It depends on what you want to change^^ With an HTC account you can download new themes as much as I know.
Swyped from my Desire S
app drawer is just a part of the Launcher. You can install custom launcher (e.g Go Launcher EX) to change app drawer
@tectas : man, I meant the app drawer, not the skin or wallpaper... N htc doesn't provide that... Htc hub supports wallpapers n skins etc.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
@vnd : ya man, I know that.. but I don want to use the launchers as they restrict many things of htc sense, for examples HTC widgets...

As much as i know in an full theme also the appdrawer style is different.
Go launcher cuts the use of htc widgets that's true, but it also provides an widgetset itself and no htc widget can't be replaced with another one from market.
Any way to get HTC Widgets with a custom Launcher?
As much as I know there's no way.

I have question what is best screen dpi for htc sensation screen. Now i use 200 but i dont know on whaat dpi have made apps. I can go lower or better not
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
It's personal preference. Try a few and pick what you like. You will find that deviating too much will make a lot of apps show as incompatible in the Play Store.
use 160. It won't make apps incompatible .

It depends on, if you are using glasses or not.
You can change to an intermediate value.
