Was stock KJ6, rooted w/DooMLoRD_v3.
Didn't have "CwM Recovery" so used sgs-kernel-flasher-v1.6.2.apk and got on sms-T959V-KJ6-v0.1.0-unsigned-update.zip
Then used CwM to flash VahallaBlack.zip and I bricked.
Got back with Odin3 v1.7(stock+Voodoo-T959VKI3.tar)
Phone info shows my kernel still sms-T959V-KJ6-v0.1.0 after the factory/data reset.
Where to from here-I just get (E: can't install vahallablack.zip -bad)
I want to use CwM - I want to install the new Vahalla Black.
Download the KJ6 version from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1358498
Then you'll have a stock rom with CWM, you should also try redownloading the valhalla zip file in case it was a bad download.
Oh no. It was up on that KJ6-beta2d and I did the following instructions on first boot-
But I suggest if you are using CWM to back up your sdcard and do a battery pull after you see the boot animation. Boot into recovery and repartition your sdcard to have >=2048M of ext2.
This will make sure you have no problems converting to ext4 from rfs and visa-versa.
It will not go back into recovery now. Only screen coming up is icons of "phone..triangle..computer" and will not connect via USB.
Guess I'm stuck again.........help.
If your in download mode then use this to flash stock KJ6 onto it.

Yes, but now windows 7 doesn't recognise phone and drivers will not connect Odin and/or Heimdall
Download heimdall from here https://github.com/downloads/Benjamin-Dobell/Heimdall/heimdall-suite-1.3.1-win32.zip
Go into the drivers folder
Run 'Zadig'
Click on options then list all usb devices
Drop the bar down and click "Samsung Usb Composite Device"
And then select 'Install driver'
After rebooting and trying again it connected but failed at installing factory FS. Now just stuck at that spot with no way out.....
I will try new driver you suggest.
Bib question- will 32 bit work? I'm 64 bit?
Heimdall One Click should then recognize your phone.
Nope, it shows up as an unknown device
It was recognising it before the factoryFS error caused me to disconnect during download mode (2)twice.
Do a battery pull and give it one last try.
If it doesn't work then I don't know what to tell you.
OK thanks. Been pulling the battery alot.
Hey SUCCESSFUL! Trying again and again etc finally paid off -again.
CwM Voodo LAgfix Rec v3.0.3.8x
KJ6-beta2d (I hope)phone info now
showing Kernel v:2.6.35.7-T959VUVKJ6-CL694130
Do I need verify this ?
Now on to my goal. Anything special I need from this point before I flash VahallaBlack ROM? Don't need to name it update.zip .....
black test 1.6 rc1.zip
Glad I can help all you need to do now is simply clear cache and dalvik cache and flash.

If you made it to the fail before you unplugged it your still ok. Next time Get into download mode by
1 pulling your battery
2 hold Vol up Vol down at the same time
3 plug in USB to computer and phone
4 re insert Battery and continue to hold the Vol buttons until your phone does something.
At this point if your phone does anything you are most likely in download mode and can recover. Just keep trying.
Edit: see you got it fixed persistence is sometimes key

Using a viewsonic G Tablet, I had initially loaded the clockwork mod. was working fine. Flashed a few ROMs over the last week. Currently running Cyanogen Mod7 Accidentally wanted to see what the ROM Manager app was about. Went and flashed the Clockword mod. Since then, I'm not able to go back into Clockwork mod. Everytime I try to reboot using the Power and Vol + button, it boots back into CyanogenMod ROM. Has a message related to MRC Erase after it says it detected REcovery Key pressed. I want to go back to using Clockworkmod so that I can flash another ROM. Now my computer doesn't even recognize the g tablet as an external storage so can't even access root. What do I need to do to get back my Clockworkmod to work again and how do I get back to my computer to recognize the g tablet. Appreciate the help. All feedback is welcome.
Sounds like you've reverted to stock recovery. Reinstall ClockworkMod. First part of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
Before you do, you might want to check the developers thread for your ROM to make sure there aren't any caveats.

But to install Clockworkmod, I need my computer to recognize the g tab as a external storage device. Something it's not doing. So can't go back to it. CAn I download the clockworkmod on the external SD Card on the computer, put it back in the gtab and let it self recognize it and install clockworkmod? Will that work? And why isn't my computer recognizing my gtab as an external storage device. Is there a way I can mount USB storage without going into clockworkmod?
Have you tried using Rom Manager to flash clockworkmod again? Or used it to flash and older version of Clockworkmod?
If you read the thread it shows there is a method to load CWM from MicroSD card (external). Once you have CWM back on then you can mount internal through it.
I dont know why Your tablet isn't mounting. Mine mounts automatically but my configuration is very different from yours. Perhaps you could check the ROM developers thread for more information.
Double submission. Please ignore/delete.

Tried to run NVFlash, but I get through ok till the point where I have to run the .bat script. What am I doing wrong? Where do I run it? Do I just double click? Because it reports an error when I do that. I"m using Windows 7 64 bit on a HP touchsmart. able to download the usb driver. recognizes the APX. but can't run the last command. Am I just supposed to get a black screen when I boot using Power and vol - button? Cos nothing else shows up on it. Appreciate the help.
I am also Unable to get into CWM after doing an update in Rom Manager. Have tried a bunch of things. still no luck. Power>Reboot>Recovery and RomManager just get me the Deterct Recovery Command - Erasing MCS then straight into CM7
Power/+ gets me Recovery Key Detected but then boots right into CM7.
Please let me know how you make out.

Ok... if you read any amount of the flashing process threads you would know using rom manager is a quote"****ing bad idea"end quote. Nvflash and a repartition using cwm is your only hope.
Flash cwm as an update.zip and repartition
This will flash the stock kernel, modem, system, dbdata and cache. There's no need for a pit since we do not have any other OS versions to flash yet that would re-partition your device.
Instructions:
1) Make sure the drivers for the Infuse 4G are installed.
2) Please unzip the .zip file.
3) Run Odin3 v1.81.exe (as administrator if you are on Windows 7)
4) Place your phone into download mode (pull battery, press and hold both Volume keys, put battery in and plug the USB cable in)
5) Make sure your phone shows up in Odin as COM##
5) Click the PDA button and choose the .tar.md5 file in the .zip.
6) Press Start.
7) After it completes, it will reboot your device and should boot up like normal. If it fails on flash see FAQ Question 4 below!
There is ALWAYS risk when flashing your device. Unfortunately, I will not be held responsible. Please use this as a means to get back to stock if something happens.
* DO NOT FLASH PIT (PIT not included).
* DO NOT CHECK ANYTHING IN ODIN EXCEPT "AUTO-REBOOT" AND "F. RESET TIME" (should be checked by default)
FAQ:
Question 1: Why does it have .md5 at the end?
Answer: Its in md5 format so in case your download is corrupted, you dont brick your phone.
Question 2: Can I rename it to just .tar and flash?
Answer: DO NOT rename it from md5 format. If it says the md5 sum is invalid, then it will not flash. Just re-download again and try again.
Question 3: Why does it give an error if i try to open in in 7zip/WinRAR/WinZip?
Answer: It should! Windows doesn't recognize when an md5sum is written to the end of a file. Don't panic!
Question 4: It passed the md5sum check, but failed writing on factoryfs. What do I do?!?
Answer: This is exactly what happened to me. Don't panic. Follow these steps exactly:
* Hold the power button to turn off.
* Make sure Odin is still open.
* Plug the USB cable in and hold the volume keys down at the same time. You will be on the screen with a "Phone ! PC" screen.
* Press Start on Odin.
* Once it completes, it will boot up into recovery. Don't worry about wiping cache or user data. Just choose "Reboot Device".
This flash takes quite a long period of time due to the size of the files. I'd say it took me 5 - 10 minutes for the flash to complete. Be patient! Afterwards it booted up with recovery, and chose Reboot Now.

Can you wipe all user data and wipe cache from recovery (power phone off via power button or battery pull, hold both volune keys down, then hold power down until samsung appears on the screen and let go of ONLY power)? That should get you to boot.

TO get into recovery to wipe data and cache, unplug your phone from the USB cable then make sure the phone is powered off. While the device is powered off press and hold the 2 volume buttons then while holding those 2 volume buttons down press and hold the power button. That will get you into recovery. WHile in there, you can wipe user data and wipe cache. Give that a go.
understood. However, as I was able to successfuly get into recovery by that method before attempting the ODIN restore, It will not enter recovery after ODIN flashed the stock.

You are getting that because you didn't properly push the recovery file to system/bin....BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ROOTED. try to wipe cache and factory reset the phone from recovery to get back your android stock. Try to get into download mode using one if the methods in the download guide in the bible. Odin to kc1 with the final cwm from krylon that fbis posted. You will have root.
Please read the bible, especially the opening threads. Also, do not apply update.zip.

I don't want your money but I'll try and help you. I will slowly walk you through this guide.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439 just follow each step below
The first step is to download drivers for your phone, to avoid problems when connecting it to your computer. Download them here http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/c...ng_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.14.0.exe and run the .exe to install
Once that is installed you will want to get the program Odin, it allows you to flash custom things on your phone while it's in Download Mode. This is what allows you to get started with rooting your phone. Download it here: http://samsung-updates.com/Odin307.zip and unzip the zip file with WinRAR or 7zip, and open the .exe file to open Odin.
Now download this: http://open1your1eyes0.cnlson.com/SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED.zip and put the zip file on your phone (don't unzip it)
Then download this, onto your computer don't copy it onto your phone: http://open1your1eyes0.cnlson.com/VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5
Now download this onto your computer: http://open1your1eyes0.cnlson.com/CWM6023TouchVZW.tar.md5
If you're on 4.1.1, download this. If you're on 4.1.2, download this. Keep on your computer, don't copy to phone sdcard.
Now you will have everything you need and can get things started.
Make sure you have the SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED.zip file on your SD card. This is the only file downloaded that needs to be on your phone's sdcard.
Boot phone into Download Mode. To do this restart the phone, while the phone is turning off, hold down the Home button and Volume Down at the same time. You will do this every time you boot into Download Mode. You must be holding Home and Volume Down at the same time while the phone is booting up. When it boots up it will bring up a screen asking to continue or cancel, press Volume Up to continue.
Now you're in Download Mode. Open Odin, connect phone to computer with Mini USB cable. Odin will say "Added" when you connect your phone. Don't mess with any settings in Odin right now.
Click "PDA" and a window will come up. Double click the VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5 file you downloaded earlier, and click Start.
Your phone will now boot.
Reboot and go into Download Mode again. (keep Home and Volume Down held down at the same time as the phone boots up)
Connect the phone to your computer if it isn't. Odin will say "Added" and will show something in one of the "ID:COM" boxes, that's how you know it's connected to Odin.
Uncheck "Auto reboot"
Click "PDA" and a window will come up, then double click the CWM6023TouchVZW.tar.md5 file you downloaded earlier, and click Start. When it finishes it will say RESET
You now have a custom recovery, which replaces the default Samsung one and lets you do things such as flash custom firmware onto your phone and many other things.
Your phone will still be on and connected to Odin because you unchecked "Auto Reboot". Disconnect the USB cable, so the phone is no longer connected to the computer. Then take the cover off of the back of your phone and remove the battery. Now put the battery back in.
Your phone is now off. Boot phone into Recovery Mode. You do this the same way as Download Mode, except hold Volume Up instead of Volume Down when booting. So you will hold Home and Volume Up at the same time, hold the power button while still holding those 2 buttons, wait til you see "Recovery booting..." in the top left corner in small blue text, and now you can let go of Home and Volume Up, and you will be in Recovery Mode in a few moments.
To navigate in Recovery Mode, you can either move up and down using the volume buttons, and press Power to select an option, or you can just tap what you want with the touch screen.
Tap "Install zip from sdcard"
Choose the SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED.zip file you downloaded and put on your sdcard earlier. If you put it in a folder, you must open that folder and choose the file. So for example if you put it in the Music folder of your sdcard, you must tap the Music folder and then tap the zip file. If it's on the root of your sdcard just scroll all the way down after tapping "Install zip from sdcard" and you will see it on the bottom.
After you tap the file, it will ask you if you want to install, tap Yes.
Installing that file has just rooted your phone.
Now go to the first screen of Recovery and choose to reboot. (if you aren't already on the first screen tap the back button until you're there)
When you choose to reboot it will ask if you want to disable recovery flash. You have to select Yes.
Now your phone will boot up and you will be rooted. Now you have to do one more thing.
Reboot into Download Mode (have Home and Volume Down held down at the same time as the phone is booting up) and press Volume Up to continue
Make sure Odin is opened and connect your phone to your computer. Make sure "Auto Reboot" is checked.
Click "PDA", a window will come up, double click the VRBMB1_Bootchain.tar.md5 file you downloaded earlier. (it will be called VRBLK3_Bootchain.tar.md5 if you downloaded the 4.1.1 version) and click Start.
When it finishes your phone will boot up. Now you're done, you're rooted, and you can close Odin and disconnect your phone.
If you want to flash a custom ROM or kernel, you flash them by putting the .zip file on your sdcard, booting into Recovery Mode, clicking "Install zip from sdcard" and tapping the zip file. But before flashing a custom rom, you must "wipe data/factory reset" first in Recovery. Then clear the cache in Recovery, and then clear the Dalvik Cache in recovery. You can find Dalvik Cache in the Advanced menu.
Click here if you forget how to boot into Download Mode or Recovery Mode
Thank you!
Really, I appreciate it a lot.

Working on it now, I'll let you know for sure.
Nope. Same problem as a had before. I flashed everything correctly. When I get to the point where I have to install SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED from recovery mode, it says:
Code:
#MANUAL MODE&
--- Appling Multi-CSC...
Applioed the CSC-code: VZW
Successfully applied multi-CSC
--Install /scdcard
Finding update package
Opening update package...
Vertifying updating package...
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
>_<
And all my system recovery menu says is
reboot system now
apply update from adb
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
I don't see anything from installing from disk so I used apply update from external storage.

That's the problem you chose apply update when you need to install the zip. You don't have an option to install zip from sdcard? If not boot your phone into Download Mode, open Odin, flash this file: http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2vzw/openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-d2vzw.tar the same way you flashed the other files in Download Mode. Your phone will boot up, then reboot into recovery. This recovery is called TWRP, I prefer this one but I linked you to the other one called CWM cause I think it's easier to use. Try using that recovery. When you boot into it, tap "Install", find your SuperSU_Bootloader_FIXED.zip file and tap it, and swipe over where it says "Swipe to Confirm Flash". Then to do a normal reboot in this recovery you tap "Reboot to System". Now you should be rooted. For me when I leave recovery it will sometimes say "Root permissions appear to be lost" but I think that's just a glitch. I just tap "Do Not Fix" and I'm fine

Hi,
I'm having hard times trying to fix my tablet. Here are the specs:
Model: GT-P3100
Android: 4.2.2
Kernel: 3.0.31-CM
Cyanogenmod v.: 10.1.2-p3100
Recovery: 6.0.1.0
OEM Data Cable
The problem is: The tablet is randomly restarting. So I've tried to flash some roms (Cyanogen12, 13, STOCK Rom) via External SD Card. None of them worked. (Installation aborted, no error messages). Whenever I uninstall any app using the Android App Manager, it uninstalls but then installs again after a few seconds. I already did factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik, .. and even wipe /system, /sd, .. partition didn't work. It always boots on Cyanogen with the same apps installed. Inside the '0' folder there are other folders just like an infinite loop(the same folders I have in the root folder, I have inside the '0' folder, and inside that folder, another '0' folder containing the same files.
Then I did install TWRP using Odin, the device was recognized and the PASS message appeared sucessfully. After the reboot, CWM was still installed and I couldn't load the TWRP Recovery.
Whenever I try to use Kies, a connecting message appears but never ends.
Can anybody help?
my beloved friend,
in odin options remove the Auto reboot option
then flash the twrp
( the device wont reboot)
when it goes PASS
remove the battery and put it back
press the buttons to go to twrp

Still got CWM installed...
It seems my SD is somehow write-protected. I've tried to do a "NAND erase all" but it fails after the "erase..." message.
When I connect the tablet to my Notebook, I can delete/write files. in the Internal Storage. Very weird

I've done the following steps:
1 - Turned the Tablet On in Download Mode.
2 - Unticked Auto Reboot.
3 - Selected the TWRP file in "AP".
4 - Plugged the USB Cable.
5 - Clicked on Start.
6 - Waited for the "Pass" message.
7 - Unplugged the USB Cable.
8 - Removed the battery plug.
9 - Waited 10 seconds and plugged in again.
10 - Restarted in Recovery mode.
But I still got the CWM installed.
The pictures of the procedures that I did are attached.

Yes, I'm rooted. Sadly, the tablet reboots whenever I try to install an Application (Via Playstore or Apk).
I already did try installing TWRP using ADB Shell(direcly inside the mmc block) but CWM keeps being the recovery.
Trying to do a Nand erase, I've got an error, as you can see in the attachment.

Mate, pit may kill your device or mess up the phone it it was lucky to boot.
To let you know, nand erase will require you to load the firmware
Please don't do an erase, lucky that your phone booted, please uncheck repartition
And band erase
You said you are having problem installing apps,
When did this happen?
After flashing pit?

No, it was included in the initial problem(random reboots), that's why I'm trying to recovery the Tab. This is my uncle's tablet, he said he didn't do anything unusual lately. The cyanogen mod was installed by a technician, a long time ago.
I'm 99% sure it's EMMC problem related, as -Hope- told me via Discord.
For more information, see: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/general/discussion-alternative-tab-2-emmc-bug-t3306862
I would like to thanks -Hope- for all the efforts trying to revive my Tablet . I said before and I'll say again, you are a GREAT person!! Really thanks buddy!
