Hi everyone !
I have a vodafone 858 phone. Its battery drains so quickly. The fully charged phone can't use more than 10 hours. yes, I have done basic things to save battery. (Lowering screen brightness, disable GPS, wifi and blutooth when don't use them etc) also I don't make more voice calls and don't listen to music.
* sync is on. but I think it can't be the only reason for this.
anyone can help me ???
I would try juice defender, it will increase your battery by turning off the data while the screen is locked. But battery on android normally isn't that good.....
Please hit the thank you button if i helped!

Hello my Friends.
Normally my Pre Plus on Idle mode from 12.00 AM to 3.00PM consumes 10%, Really I don't know how much I consume using it for play and calls, but I charge it every 3/4 day (6+6+6 Hours=18 Hours) Of use till my Battery drains completely. I have the next installed:
Patches: 38
App Installed: 34
Linux App: 13
Web Server running over 3G.
AV Harrier II: at Power Up Over-voltage 1.005Ghz
Bright solution:
This is most of the drain of the Battery sol. you should put this less than 40%, The Pre-/+/2 /Veer has Better bright than other Devices even in 20% tested by myself.
IM Solution:
Do not use the Stock IM because is like bugged or something like that, makes the battery drain 7% than normal drain.
Email Solution:
Receiving a mail every time you get it is not so good for the battery because is always attempting to the server, the solution for this is get Mail manually or every day.
Bluetooth and GPS:
Really I don't see much use for Bluetooth since on WebOS can not do File Transfer, but WebOS 2.x made a change and now we can use Keyboards, avoid turn the Bluetooth if you're not using it, and GPS turn it off, is other core of Battery Drain, just turn it off if you're using it and when you're done, OFF.
WiFi and 3G
Really I haven't see difference between two of this because really the 3G consumes more than WiFi but only if you're using the things I said before
Airplane mode, I never tested this but some people says that Battery drain less if you use this mode when you're going to sleep.
Hope this was helpfully,
Thanks and have a good day
Hi guys,
I have a vodafone 858 (android 2.2) phone. Its battery usage screen isn't giving proper information of power consumption. It shows only these items all the time, like this >
android system 96%
cell standby 4%
phone idle 2%
It has never shown the power consumption of other things. such as display, camera etc.
How can I solve this ?
its normal. It shows you what has been using the battery more and not what is draining it.If you want rhe camera and other stuff to show up just use them and you gonna see that they will appear
@ [email protected] no dude, Its not showing when I used camera. other thing is the display, that is one of the most battery drain things of a phone, but I have never seen battery usage of the screen in battery usage screen.
Also I'm using twitter, facebook and browser all the time, but the damn battery usage screen has never shown them.
damn it..Maybe the usage indicator is non-functional.Try downloading spare parts or betterbatterystats. If you wanna reduce the screen battery drain turn off animations, the screen sensor, haptic feedback and lower brightness
If you face problem with battery.. draining like hell..
then these tips are for you....
1. Battery Calibration
2. Control Apps
3. Device Setting
1. Battery Calibration
Don't use any application..
Just charge your battery till 100%.. (if stuck on 99% for long time.. no problem) just Restart your phone
without remove charger..Important
after restart (battery show 60 to 98%. leave it on charge again till 100% + 2 hrs. more
Then remove from charger & use phone until battery drain to 0% and switch-off itself
Don't recharge between 100 to 0%.. then try to restart at least 3 time.. to sure drain battery completely
now connect your phone to charger.. after 10 minutes start your phone.
but don't remove your charger till battery goes 100%...Important
(sometime it take more than 4-5 hrs. so better in night) When battery goes 100% ...now you done Calibration..
Technically..
on every restart Android reset Battery (by wipe battery status)
So.. on 100% Android make Maximum level - on 0% minimum level
P.S. Do this calibration on every ROM flash or at-least one time a month..
2. Control Apps
Some Application consume battery do much..
i.e. Facebook, Youtube, Maps, Whatsapp, Viber, Yahoo! Mail / Messenger, Skype, Hotmail.com, etc.
so when you don't use these apps (running in background) kill them from
setting > apps > RUNNING click on apps > Stop..
Better use Browser Bookmark instead applications
i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Outlook,
It help to save your RAM also..
3. Device Setting
lowest brightness..
lowest screen timeout
Close WiFi if no need
Close Data Conn. if no need.
Close Bluetooth if no need.
Close GPS if no need.
try to use dark backgrounds..
Try these tips then tell me how your battery work

Also you can use, deep sleep battery (free or pro) to reduce the number of screen off wake ups.
this will help you to prolong the battery quite a fair bit.

yep. it does.
i m doing these things before this post and normally i get 2-2.5 days backup of battery.
However ROM is also a factor. my previous rom used to give me 1-1.5 days(1.5 on very less usage.)
but my current rom is giving me atleast 2 days

Thanks

My battery life is so bad, my battery drains in 6 hours even if im not using it. is there any way to fix this? i currently do all the following: use low screen brightness
turn off google now
turn off gps location
only sync stuff you really use, turn other syncs off (i have just gmail, contacts, browser synced)
turn off nfc if not using
make sure to use the open recent apps button and swipe away all apps when putting the phone down for a while
ive even tried calibrating my phone by using apps and letting it die completely and turning it back on when fully charged. Someone please help !!!!

Factory reset as it sounds like a bad background app (It may not show up under task managers)
Hi
First of all I'm back on Android and back on the forum after four years of iOS, really enjoying Android and the forum again!
I just got my Z3 for about 2 weeks now and I'm not getting the 2days out of my single charge, when I take the charger out at about 7 in the morning, I'm left with about 30-40% at 11 a'clock at night. I'm just wonderring if these 2 days should be able to reach with heavy whatsapp usage (groups, really almost receiving a couple of messages a minute ) and moderate Facebook, Snapchat, browsing, and maybe some app downloads? Are there some settings you guys recommend to increase battery life? (already using stamina, doesn't really make a big difference).
Thanks in advance!
You can follow the battery life thread.
I have autosync, location and WiFi calling enabled and I still get 6-9 hours of screen time out of a 24 hr period with heavy usage with or without WiFi calling. At first I got no more than 5-6 Hrs screen time but as I used it and it settled/calibrated it got better.
Whats your signal strength like? It can have a big impact.
As for battery saving tips:
Try turning off or reducing the nunber of apps syncing. Facebook can also be a killer at times, I disabled, I barely use it and when I do need to I just use the mobile site.
Also turn off background WiFi scanning and set the following option -> WiFi off when screen off or on w/screen off only when connected to power.
Lastly try calibrating the battery as even Apple as you probably know reccomends for their devices:
1. Full drain
2. Full uninteruppted charge
3. Discharge with regular use to 0-1%
4. Full charge and use normally
As for stamina its not done anything for me either so I disabled it. More like placebo effect lol, I think they will fix it.

Thank you for quick response!
I've searched for a battery life thread but I couldn't find one, where can I find it?
My signal strength most of the time has all the bars, except at my house I have only one or two bars in various rooms, I didn't know about its big impact so this might indeed be a reason for my battery drain. Turned off almost all the syncing for my apps, and did the WiFi settings you mentioned, if the setting 'WiFi off when screen off" is enabled should my WiFi be of when I light up the screen without unlocking my phone or just really when the screen is off? Thanks for the tips, I hope I can get more hours out of it now!
At some time I had a short battery too and after those same steps I have 3 days battery without any problem:
