Yes I have thanks, & still awaiting reply!

Are you getting service? You should see your network provider at the bottom if you open your notification slider. This happens occasionally when flashing kernels (as well as broken wifi). Go back into bootloader, wipe cache/dalvik cache and reinstall the kernel.
Latest GLaDOS caused me a bit of trouble today for some reason (most likely on my end), had to go back to my nandroid before wifi would work at all, stock kernel wasn't enough.

[Q] Internet connection problem

Hello all
I'm having some internet issues right now. I can connect internet pretty well on wi-fi but when using network I cant open any web pages no matter what browser I'm using but I can use other internet related programs (Facebook, gmail , market etc.). This is the second time this problem occurs. First time I was using stock rom then I changed to virtuous unity and the problem was solved but now it started again. Anyone experienced this before? Or what can I do to solve this?
Could be kernel related
Swyped from HTC Desire S using XDA Premium
If its kernel related what can i do about it?

You should always try to provide as much information and details as possible, for example....
All of this can be got from Settings->About Phone-> software
What ROM?,
What RADIO (baseband)?
What Kernel?
Can be got by rebooting to recovery
what HBOOT?
Sorry for missing details.
Virtuous Unity v.1.31.0
20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M
Kernel unavailable
HBOOT: HBOOT 6.98.1002
Radio from bootloader. 3805.06.02.03_M
I think these are enough, I'll try to flash new kernel but before that i want to ask that if i'll lose anything? Or what will change?

Having the same experienced with you. Got problem with MMS too. Just now, I've called my network provider, it said that I need to tick "Data enabled" first if I want to use internet connection. If untick it, we cannot use the internet connection. Don't know whether working for you or not, but seriously working for me.

I don't use that ROM myself, but, I'm aware that they've released a later version about a week ago, so I'd be tempted to perform a full factory reset and then any additional wipe instructions that come with ROM installation which you'll usually find in post #1 and then upgrade to that.
I'd then apply which ever kernel that they recommend in the ROM thread (or you may find the new version comes with the new kernel). If you then continue to get issues try posting in the ROM thread as well as updating this thread as this may bring you more results....

It might not be related with rom because same issue happened before when i was using non-rooted stock rom. Anyway i going to apply new update with full wipe. I hope it wont occur again.

[Q] G2x with Cyanogenmod7 can't receive data (I realize this is a common problem)

Hey, so as stated in the title, I have recently flashed Cyanogenmod7. Initially, version 7.2.0 and then the nightly build released on 10/7/12. I can no longer receive mobile data. I realize this is a very common problem and have searched through multiple forum posts here and elsewhere online. I also flashed a new kernel in an attempt to fix it (not sure of the name, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073626).
Mobile data will appear (and work) for the first 10-15 seconds after startup if wifi is disabled but then vanishes afterwards. I have tried changing the mobile network settings and apn settings in a number of ways but no method ever works (most of the ones found online appear to be at least a year old so perhaps I just need more modern entries). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The CM team has yet to fix this, and I doubt it ever will be fixed. It's present on all AOSP based ROMS. I guess if they set the modem to reset on bootup, it could fix it, but I have no idea how to do that.

I've also tried wiping the cache and dalvik cache with no effect. I have also installed a custom kernel with no effect. I am not entirely sure what you mean by fixing permissions.
Edit: searched and figured it out. Tried fixing permissions in combination with the other two options. Still no effect.
Sorry to bump an old topic but I accidentally reflashed Cyanogen (pressed wrong zip in recovery) and now it's working so if anyone else has this problem, try doing a factory reset and then reflashing old data.

[Q] Unable to send/receive MMS

I have been unable to send or receive MMS messages to/from anyone. Outgoing messages just get stuck at "sending" and I've had multiple people try to send me an MMS. I believe my APN settings are correct based on other threads here. Has anyone else seen/dealt with/have a solution for this bug?
I'm currently running CM10.1 April 8 Nightly off of a clean complete wipe flash, but I believe the problem has occurred with prior versions as well.

I saw some commits related to unicode encoding with the MMS app. It's possible (Disclaimer: I am not a dev, these are just theories) that these have something to do with the MMS issue. You could extract the MMS.apk from a prior build (where your MMS was still functional) and push it to /system/apps, rename your current MMS.apk to MMS.bak (just in case), set permissions to R-W, R, R, then reboot. If that works then we know there's an issue with the CM commits to the MMS.apk.
Had the same problem this morning. Turns out I had mobile data turned off.

What that means is that your APN's might not be configured properly. Compare them to the ones listed here. If that doesn't fix the MMS issue then we'll have to investigate further.

I've put in a trouble call with AT&T hopefully they find something....
So according to AT&T there are no network problems but my phone is not responding to push notifications from them. They want me to bring it into a "core" store to have it checked out (not going to happen on behalf of the rooting/custom ROM). I'm wondering if my Android ID#/device hostname may have changed when I did a full wipe? Although I'm not even sure that would have any effect on my problem. I'm just tossing out ideas.

If I were you I'd just make a nandroid backup of my current setup, transfer that (and any other important data) to either my external or PC, ODIN back to stock and head over to an AT&T store. Just my two cents. You can always re-root and flash a custom ROM again. If you'd corrupted something through flashing (not saying you did, just a thought) getting AT&T to straighten it out and then going custom from there might be your best option.

Sinnce AT&T uses the IMEI number as the ID for the device, that wouldn't be the issue you aren't receiving push messages. I agree with mrfeuss, back up the phone, flash the stock rom, and go have AT&T fix it on their end. Then you can re-root and install your custom ROM again. Better to have them look at it than live without MMS.

Just used Odin to flash back to stock. After the Odin reboot how long should it take for the phone to start up? I've been sitting on the ATT logo screen for a few minutes now.... please don't tell me I bricked....
Never mind, figured out my own mistake..... Always factory reset/clear data before flashing!

[Q] Hardware issue?

Does anyone have a problem with random "pauses" while using apps? It's totally not noticeable for applications that aren't continually running animations (ie: kindle, text scrolling) but becomes evident when doing thins such as:
- recording video (the "pause" will cause the recording to stop randomly for both continuous and time lapse)
- playing games (will cause the game to go to the pause screen)
- tasker programming (I think this is affected because tasker will randomly close itself without a FC dialog, profiles and tasks seem okay)
I turned on debugging to see if it was a dirty screen or anything, but the touch coordinates don't change at all when the "pause" happens. Anyone have an idea how I can fix this? It is rather crippling to the N5.
I am rooted and I have seen this problem on all roms (and I believe I noticed it on stock too...)
I use a ballistic case, if anyone else has had problems with it...
Thanks in advance!
Using N5 on Carbon + Franco kernel
I guess no one's ever had this problem before? =[

Yes follow the link in the general to go back to complete stock and that will eliminate anything and everything that could be an issue related to software.
For what it is worth, what method did you use to root?

Hmm, I think it worked. I haven't tested it out for lengthy periods of time but I haven't noticed any pausing anymore! =]
I followed the unroot instructions to return to stock. Although I didn't relock the bootloader.
Then I booted up stock and it seemed like it works fine.
I reinstalled CWM recovery through adb (same as I did the first time) and proceeded to reflash
It seems like the problem is gone now on custom ROM as well. Interestingly enough, if I nandroid restore my old backup, I do get the problem again.
Is there something different between reflashing stock part and wiping from factory/data reset + system partition format + wipe cache + wipe davalik?
Thanks for your help guys! I was sure before that it was hardware since I had the problem on stock w/ root, but thankfully it's not a hardware problem! =]

[Q] Vibration not working on franco kernel

Updated to v9 today...after receiving a call (did vibrate), I found that all kinds of vibration stopped working, even in recovery mode.
I googled it and find https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/vibration-suddenly-not-working.76462/page-2 that someone else is having the same problem with franco. I am so frustrated as it seems that only full reflash can fix the problem.
Anyone has others solution on it?
ROM: Stock CM 11S
Kernel: franco.Kernel v9
I did change according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54571945&postcount=271 today. Not sure if it relates to the issue.
PS Don't have the permission to ask in franco thread so I better post it here...
Solved:
My solution is to accidentally drop the phone on the ground and make a scratch on the silver edge. And the vibration is back. It is a hardware problem. But maybe it is triggered by a software issue...

I am on r10 now but still no vibration in any circumstances...I have once restored the vibration after many trials of wipe (in recovery mode) and reflash but when I signed in my google account with "backup & restore" box checked, it lost again. So i think it should be a software problem. Unfortunately I couldn't restore the vibration again as I forgot my actual steps at that time.
I will try flashing asop when I am free. Thanks.

I just tried stock. I used to think to fix the problem I can only wipe everything and do full reflash via fastboot posted in OP. However I just can't format 'userdata' as I mentioned in my other post http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/help-fail-to-wipe-using-fastboot-t2839512.
Again I will try to flash another kernel to see if it works. Thanks.

That's a lot to do to try and fix issue. I would restore my nandroid that was working prior to flashing kernel and flash another kernel for testing.
Solved!!!
My solution is to accidentally drop the phone on the ground and make a scratch on the silver edge. And the vibration is back. I should thank the maid who bumped into me.
So I am wrong it is a hardware problem. But maybe it is becoz the vibration strength was low and somehow break the vibrator.
