Cyanogenmod Nightly Changelog (HDMI?) - LG Optimus 3D

The changelog for our phone (P920) can be found here:
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=p920
Strange thing though;
In the second release, or first if we count the numbers, there is:
OMAP4: Adding HDMI Support in the framework (android_frameworks_base)
Clicking on the link above views the changes, but I can't get the HDMI out to work.
I heard that for other phones, including the 02X, we need a Full HD TV and not a 720p (HD Ready).
I only have a HD Ready TV and a Full HD computer screen but it doesn't work on the computer screen.
Can anyone with the latest nightly (currently 3) try HDMI out on a Full HD TV?
I doubt that it'll work, but still worth trying.

EDIT:
Good news! I got the audio to work through HDMI, but the Computer screen is just showing a black screen BUT it doesn't say "No input" which is good. I get "[email protected]".

That's actually the way I get the audio to work. If I just play music nothing happens but if I start a video after a few tries, then I get the audio to work through HDMI but with a black screen, this also worked on my 720p TV, after this procedure, I can play music aswell but as soon as the phone screen shuts down I have to do everything again.
I would guess that they are currently working on these features and trying to get our phone up to date with the others since they are only working on our phone and a few others, can be verified by looking at the recent files at http://get.cm/ and all the OMAP4 fixes in the changelog.

There is no radio.Does anyone know if there will be a future release?

someone should post ''how to install cm7 nightly on o3d'' bacause first time I tried it,it froze on cm screen and had to return to v21a until a stable version is released

I backed up everything, External SD, internal SD and all my apps.
1) boot into clockwork by holding volume down and power.
2) install CM7
3) install Gapps if you want the Google stuff.
4) Format DATA and reset to factory
reboot and you are set to go

That's pretty much how it's done.
If you want to install a new release then just make a backup (and delete the old one) and install the new release through CWM. All system files are replaced with the new release and you will keep your old apps/settings.

And we don't make any wipe, right?

Not if you're updating from CM7 to CM7.

same behaviour on fullHD, tried it out yesterday:
first: black screen, no sound,
then I closed the video and started it again:
black screen, sound
but thats it.

I found out that the second display is located here:
/sys/devices/omapdss/display1/
When I plug in the HDMI the value enabled sets to 1.
But the value hdmi_out is still 0, same with the value mirror at display0.
I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in the next releases.
It would be nice if display0 could be disabled when using HDMI at certain points, when watching movies or using emulators. And by pressing power button the mirroring/cloning starts again.

[ICS][ALPHA][02-03-2012]CM9 with camera support

This is a snapshot of my work on bringing camera support to Tezet's Milestone2 ICS port.
This is continuation of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520572
- it's based on CM9 snapshot from March 2nd
- it may contain more (or less) bugs from Tezet's builds. It's simply different, newer etc.
- it should be possible to load this without factory reset on top of Tezet's CM9 builds and the other way around, though the last time I've tried this was early February...
- there's no need to wipe dalvik cache - the update script does this
- the fix for SIM lock pin is not included
- there's no Torch and file manager app. Don't ask
Camera notes:
The work is based on Atrix ICS camera support, with added overlay emulation.
What is working:
live preview
zooming
flash
focus
exposure compensation etc
taking photos
some 3rd party apps (Pano, CameraFX, Barcode scanner)
doesn't crash when enterinng video/panorama mode
generally much more stable
... probably not much more
What is not working:
panorama mode
video recording
a lot more
Other stuff: (compared to previous version)
- bluetooth should be OK (please test)
- aGPS should work
I highly recommend to do a nandroid backup before trying it.
Latest version available at http://code.google.com/p/cm9-milestone2/downloads/list
If your phone is stuck on Google logo, it means you have chosen a wrong version and you need to recover your phone from the SBF file.
Repository:
repo init -u git://github.com/rondoval/android.git -b ics
All the credits go to:
- Tezet, for the Milestone2 port
- tpruvot, Quarx2k, for their tremendous efforts on Defy support (and thus Milestone2)
- whole Atrix-Dev-Team, Raviprasad V Mummidi, zivan56 for their tremendous work on the camera driver
Just backing up my MS2 now. Going to flash it over CM7 Tezet and see how it goes.
Cheers for the efforts

Actually this would be a good test... I did that in december. I had some issues, bu I think that was mainly due to wrong version of gapps.
If you're still planning to try upgrading from CM7 to CM9: You may need to wipe telephony provider data and deskclock after upgrade.
/data/data/com.android.deskclock/databases/alarms.db
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
Please tell us how did it go

I know it is CM9 I said I was flashing (upgarding) FROM CM7.
As per your advice I cleared alarms.db and telephony.db and was going well.
I also was unable to find the fix for the SIM PIN lock, so I just disabled it.
I haven't yet tried the gapps for ICS because the download through multiupload.com is not working (seems as though multiupload in general is down).
I can confirm that the camera works (photos only) and was able to upgrade from CM7 with no issues without wiping my data.
The ROM is smooth and seems to handle most tasks I have thrown at it. However, I am finding 3D performance a bit lesser than that experienced on CM7 (not a major issue).
Cheers.
Good work, thx! Glad to see we have one more dev working on our MS2.

Is there any bug for the touch?
Since when I am touching and holding on the screen, it displays I'm swiping horizontally instead of holding it (I enabled "Show touches" in Development Tools)
I believe i might have run into a bug, Im not sure if anyone has note this bug or not. In the apps menu, if you hold a application, you can drag it to Remove which will uninstall the app normally, however at the moment, dragging it to Remove does nothing. Does anyone have a idea whats wrong?
i have a huge problem. when my phone is booting up, it only shows the google logo, and.. nothing happend. only a black screen with backlights.
if i try the X factory reset, the screen with an exclamation mark pops up -
but if i press the @ key, nothing happen.
if i try to the connect my phone with RSD lite, the bootloader is loading but shows 'battery low
cannot program'
when i was trying to load the ROM my battery was ~50%...
what should i do?
after a few times failing with the @ - it works.. one time..pressed the factory reset - booted up - still bugged with the google boot up logo...
hi, aznsniper
i have the same problem,i have no idea to solve it. sorry... maybe rondoval will fix it in next build.
@jimbo0815
Did you factory wipe, cache wipe and dalvik wipe before installing the rom? If you did, is it possible that you installed the wrong version? Just my 2 cents worth.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 7.7 with Paranoid Android 2.55

I just wanted to say that I was really impressed by trying the Paranoid Android 2.55 ROM pa_p6800-2.55-17NOV2012-053308a, with Gapps package gapps-jb-20121011-signed.
IT IS A TOTAL AWESOME UPGRADE from official Stock Rom Ice Scream Sandwhich second phase. That's why I decided to make it easier for all the other owners of this tablet to just upgrade their tablet with this ROM pacakge.
So here is what I did with TWRP recovery:
1. Wipe Cache
2. Wipe Dalvik Cache
3. Wipe (Factory Reset)
4. Then I made a FULL BACKUP.
5. Then I decided to upload that backup on Torrents so everyone else may upgrade their tablet with a simple TWRP recovery.
Since I am still not permitted to write on the Development forum I would really like to know the following:
1. Should this Backup Recovery for my P6800 work on the same model of the Tablet of other people without problems? In other words, does this recovery work only for MY device or it should work on similar devices?
2. I am not sure who is the author who deserves true credit for this ROM, but I have been seeing the name Daniel quite a bit. AndroguideFr is saying it's not his work. Please provide me the list of people who should take the credit for this before I upload the torrent with the instructions.
Finally tell me if it's a good idea, what you think about it, do you have any advice for me? Do you think this should work?
Instructions & Torrent
The torrent link: Since I still can't post links you can just search for "Super Galaxy Tab 7.lly Bean Upgrade" on the pirate bay website.
The following is the instructions I provided with the torrent. I would be glad if you tell me what you think about it:
This torrent is ONLY for those who own the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 with Wifi & 3G (GT-P6800). Be warned that the instructions provided here will not work on any other device or model.
Noob Definitions:
ROM means FIRMWARE or DEVICE SOFTWARE
BRICK means Phone/Tablet Getting Stuck without being able to boot.
So are you happy with your Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet Stock ROM (firmware)? In other words, are you happy with the original software the device came by? If you are not, there is good news here. I have tried my best to make it as easy as possible to upgrade your Tablet with the best ROM I have come across for this tablet, which is Paranoid Android version 2.55 with Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
Why I am recommending this ROM and why I am doing this? Simple, I have tried all previous versions of Paranoid Android ROM for this device and they were all great but with minor to major bugs. This is the only ROM that I have found to be:
1. Super Fast. It consumes only an average of 120 megabytes of your internal tablet memory and all Samsung bloatware is removed by default.
2. Stable. I haven't come across any problems with it up till now and the smoothness of the graphics and device responsivity is really amazing.
3. Battery Saver. All Paranoid Android Jelly Bean ROMs I have tried save a great deal of battery power. You will notice at least double battery standby time switching from the stock IceCream Sandwich.
4. Of course WiFi & GPS are now tested and working.
I have not tested this ROM for more than a few days, however considering all the progress I have been seeing I expect only very few bugs that I would wholeheartedly sacrifice for this great experience on my tablet. The instructions include a full backup of your existing Data/ROM so just in case you don't like your new upgrade you should be easily able to recover your previous ROM/Data as they were before.
Introduction:
- I have made the hard work so you don't have to do it yourself to upgrade your tablet. I followed all the online instructions to install the following ROM file "pa_p6800-2.55-17NOV2012-053308a" with this Google Apps package "gapps-jb-20121011-signed" on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, and then I had reset my device (factory reset) and took a FULL BACKUP with a recovery software called TWRP.
- This torrent is the FULL BACKUP recovery made by TWRP and once you install (flash) the TWRP recovery software on your device you will be able to take this BACKUP and recover it on your own device without problems. So here are the detailed instructions:
BE WARNED:
1. Before beginning make sure to charge your device battery to above 80% !! Losing power during recovery may BRICK your tablet.
2. I repeat: This torrent is ONLY for those who own the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 with Wifi & 3G (GT-P6800). The instructions provided here will not work on any other device or model.
3. The instructions provided here are accurate to the best of my ability and I will help you upgrade your tablet by replying to your comments if you had any problems BUT STILL you will do this at your own risk and I'm not responsible for any data you may lose or tablet you may brick.
4. Please read the instructions in the given order and do exactly as mentioned to avoid any problems. Should any questions arise just raise your hand and ask before continuing. It's better to be safe than sorry.
5. Your Tablet must be ROOTED for being able to install TWRP recovery given the following instructions if it's not rooted try following this link before continuing further: (link provided)
In case this link doesn't work you will find many tutorials online on how to ROOT your Galaxy Tab 7.7 just Google it and good luck, then come back here.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Objective: Preparing Extracted Data
After completing torrent download extract the file "SamsungGT_7.7_Custom_ROM.rar" with WinRar on your PC on your prefered location and leave it there until required.
2. Objective: Installing TWRP Recovery on Tablet
Open Google Play market on your Galaxy Tab search, download and install the GooManager application. Open it, and look for "Flash ROMS", a message will pop-up telling you "IN ORDER TO USE THIS FEATURE YOU MUST HAVE AN OPENRECOVERYSCRIPT COMPATIBLE RECOVERY", just choose "Try to find one for me". This should download the TWRP recovery software and automatically flash your device you will see a pop-up message saying "TWRP recovery is installed successfully". If your device is not ROOTED the GooManager application will not have the privilage to FLASH your ROM. If your tablet is not rooted just quit this tutorial, search for online Tutorials on how to root your Tablet on Google and come back again.
3. Objective: Transfer Recovery Backup onto Tablet
OK, now you have to copy the TWRP folder you just downloaded through this torrent onto the EXTERNAL SDCard of your Samsung Galaxy Tab. To do that, just connect your device to the computer with its USB cable and in a minute or 2 you should be able to see your Device "GT-P6800" under Portable Devices (if you are Windows 7) or perhaps "Removeable Device" (if you are on Windows XP). Just make sure that you copy the extracted TWRP folder on your external storage (SD Card) on your Galaxy Tab. If you did not see your external drives on My Computer you might need to install Samsung Kies Drivers so your tablet is recognized on Windows.
4. Objective: Boot Into Recovery Mode
Now you have the TWRP recovery software flashed on your device and the recovery Backup itself on the external storage. The next step is to Power Off your Galaxy Tab completely, then Press the Power Button and hold on together with the Volume UP (+) button. Once you see the Samsung Galaxy Tab logo remove your finger from the Power button and you should see TEAMWIN with blue background and you will be in Recovery Mode.
5. Objective: Full Backup of Existing Data
Once you are in the TWRP recovery screen just touch on the "Backup" button to make a full backup of your current ROM & Data so in case anything went wrong you can recover all your data later with no problems. Make sure that "System", "Data", "Boot", "Recovery" & "Cache" checkboxes are checked and then choose the radio button "Using Internal Storage" or "External Storage" depending where you have more space (external storage is recommended). Then Swipe the arrow on the left to the right to Backup your device.
6. Objective: Full Recovery of New ROM Package
After successful backup, touch on the home button at the top of the screen and touch "Restore" button so you can now install the New ROM recovery you downloaded on your external storage. You will see 2 radio buttons one is "Using external SD" and the other "Using internal Storage". Since you put your recovery on external storage just leave the radio button checked on "Using external SD" and you should see the "FRESHBACKUP" recovery folder, touch on it. In the next screen make sure that the "System", "Data", "Boot", & "Cache" checkboxes ARE CHECKED. Considering you have made all the steps exactly as mentioned so far Swipe the left arrow from LEFT TO RIGHT to recover your tablet into the new ROM. Wait until all the recovery steps are finished indicating that all is successful. You will find a button to "Reboot System" or similar.
7. Objective: Be Patient, It's Happening
Once you reboot you will notice IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME AT FIRST don't panic, just leave it finish what it is doing for as long as 10 minutes. You will find the "Android is Upgrading" pop-up optimizing your applications, that is totally normal. Then finish all the step-by-step instructions given on the screen in regards to your Google Account and Good Job You are now enjoying Paranoid Android 2.55 with Jelly Bean 4.1.2. You can customize it as you wish from the settings.
Troubleshooting:
In case you had any problems in Steps 6 & 7 or you didn't like the new recovered ROM just go to Step 4 (boot into recovery mode) and recover your original data you backed up in Step 5.
Application Tips: The following are my favorite must have applications:
1. SwiftKey Keyboard is a great keyboard that reduces typing errors through predictions and learns a great deal about your your own choice of words.
2. Pattrn is a very good application for simple backgrounds.
3. Flipboard & News360 great tablet apps for enjoying news in an intuitive interface.
4. Facebook, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, & YouTube app.
5. ES File Explorer & File Manager.
6. Kobo Ebooks.
7. Firefox & Dolphin Browsers.
8. Evernote (Great Cloud based Notes - Never lose your important notes).
9. Bluetooth File Transfer.
10. Juicy Defender (Battery Saving App).
11. Market Access App (you will not find this on Google Play Market. Google it and once installed you can download apps from market not restricted by Country).
12. TapaTalk (Great forum-ing experience for Android).
13. Yahoo Weather (the most simple widget for Weather Info)
14. WordWeb dictionary (great free dictionary).
15. MX Player & ArmV7 process codec package (very good media player).
16. Dr. Web Light antivirus (The lightest antivirus for android with very high detection rates).
17. WiFi Analyzer (great for deciding on which Channel to put your WiFi router so you have the highest reception).
18. CamCard (Scans your business cards and automatically fills-in to your contact list).
19. Adobe Flash Player (It is no longer available in Google Play but you can find it in online tutorials on Google, it's a must for some websites to work).
If you have any inquiries just comment on the torrent and I will respond, otherwise send an email on [email protected] Torrent commenting is more recommended though!

Only problem with Paranoid is that it is based on CM and there are many know issues. My biggest issue is the video codecs. The devs will not fix this and any videos I have that play in ICS will not play in any ROM based on CM. Would love to have a Jelly Bean ROM but with some many know issues I am happy with ICS until an official update comes out, if it ever does.

Sorry what is OTG? Ok I checked on Amazon and I guess I have never used this device. But the usb connection to the computer is working as expected normally.
Secondly, why do you have to take a risk in flashing a ROM? Take a full backup recovery of your existing configuration, should anything go wrong you can revert back so easily without losing anything. Let me know if you need any help.

booted up, rebooted into recovery and flashed gapps.

All the movies I have are either straight digital copies or dvd rips, they have not been converted into anything. They play fine in ICS but on any CM based ROM they don't, no matter what video player I used. Again it all has to do with the the missing codecs of ICS. I don't want to waste my time converting all my movies just because the ROM does not support them.

If you don't provide the extension of the files, or the codecs of the type of files that you are trying to play I believe I cannot help you. But I am still telling you that I haven't faced any problems trying to play any kind of video file up till now.

Information On Dual Booting Roms
Since we currently have an issue with the network radio on our CM10 roms, most people will not be able to use this rom as a daily driver, and would prefer to stay on a fully functioning GB rom. This dual booting method lets us have the best of both worlds! You can have a buttery smooth and fast CM10 rom for enjoying all of Android Jellybean 4.2.1 goodies and a fully function Gingerbread rom when ever you need to make a call and such. For now, this is the best we can do. It's simple and very fast to switch between roms. What else could you ask for? ;D
Installation Instructions Including Dual Booting
DISCLAIMER
I (WE) AM NOT RESPONSIBLE of any damages to your device related to the use of this ROM or the dualboot toolkit. You do this at your own risk. Even though this has been tested and works well, using NVFLASH may brick your device if done incorrectly.
This ROM comes in two flavours: The dualboot toolkit or the Original flashable ROM
Dualboot ROM Instructions
WARNING! NVFLASH will format EVERYTHING, including internalSD. Make sure you backup your important files on your externalSD card
PART 1 - Resizing system partition
1) Unzip the dualboot toolkit and unzip NVFLASH_Resizer-G2X.zip.
2) Power off your phone and remove the battery. Keep vol. up and vol. down held and plug the phone via USB to a WINDOWS computer.
3) Windows should add an "APX driver". Go to control panel -> Device manager and right click on it -> Update driver -> search in system. Then, browse to the drivers folder inside the NVFLASH package and choose nvidiausb.inf. Approve any error messages (Windows 8 users read my FAQ). Install the Nvidia Fastboot driver.
4) Unplug your phone and hold down vol.up and vol.down. Replug it again and double click on flash.bat inside the NVFLASH folder. KEEP BOTH BUTTONS HELD DOWN DURING THE WHOLE PROCESS!.
5) When NVFLASH is done, unplug the phone and put back the battery. Reboot into recovery with power + vol. down. Plug it back and go to mounts and storage -> mount USB storage. If your PC asks to format the internal SD card, select yes.
PART 2 - Installing ROMS
1) Download the desired "call/SMS" ROM and extract boot.img from it's flashable zip. Rename it to boot1.img. Extract Step3_bootimg.zip from the dualboot toolkit and copy-paste boot1.img into system/boot, replacing the file that is already there. Repack Step3_bootimg.zip.
2) Copy-paste your desired ROM into the 0dualboot folder and send it to your device SDcard with everything it contains (your device should already be in the "mount USB storage" menu).
3) From the recovery, flash Step1_enabler.zip. When the screen goes black, hold power + vol. down to get back into recovery.
4) Flash your desired ROM, then Step2_ROM1.zip. Reboot to the OS.
5) You should have a Systemchanger app. Open it, click on "Switching" and give root permissions. When the screen goes black (again...), hold power + vol. down to get into recovery.
6) Flash ROM2.zip and Step3_Bootimg.zip and reboot in the OS
And there you go! To switch from one OS to another, just open the systemchanger app and click on "switching"!
Credits to bihariel for the original method. See the original thread here.
Original flashable zip ROM instructions
1) Boot into recovery with power + vol. down
2) Wipe data/cache, then mounts and storage -> format system
3) Flash this ROM
4) Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions
5) Reboot and enjoy!
Special trick : In settings, go to About phone and click 6 times on Build number. This will pop up the developer and performances options. In performances options, CPU settings, change the governor from INTERACTIVE to SMARTASSV2.

Mazout Kernel on Stock 2.3.4
I flashed Mazout360's GB kernel over kwes' rooted 2.3.4/March 2012 basebannd. Was running pretty smooth, but had some problems
> Bluetooth icon at top of screen did not turn off "connected" status when I turned off my headset (BlueAnt q2.1)
> Had a few freezes. Installed SetCPU to keep max speed at 1015MHz but still some stops. Some out of nowhere, some in the middlle of doing stuff
> Finally started shutting down often. Tried to get a terminal emulator from the Market, but Market started crashing, even after several reboots. Could not get a kmsg to send.
Reinstalled my nandroid. No time at the moment to play more, need my phone reliable for some days to come. Hope lots of people try this kernel out and that I get more time with it. Nice to have new Dev activity for the G2x.
Quick question, i was wondering if it matters what zip tool we are using? Can i use 7zip for this, or should i use winzip?

Shouldn't matter, but I always use Winrar.
Micro SD card not detected
I was following along the steps and everything was going well until step 5 in part 1. when i rebooted my phone into recovery and pulged it into the PC nothing happened even though i followed exactly what the steps say, then i continued on and everything was going well until the end, where i found out that i couldn't get the data that I backed up to my Micro SD card because the phone doesn't see it.
Please help, I'm a noob around here.
I appreciate all the great work

No it didn't. My build computer broke and I need to setup a new HDD with my build environment. I'll make a new version as soon as possible.
hello,
I have dualboot now with hellfire2.4.2 and cm10 mazout's. So one is cm 7 and the other one is cm 10, I want to flash kernel but how? If I flash cm7 kernel will it block the cm10 rom or vice-versa?
guys I have just realized that I do not have dualboot after that steps
5) You should have a Systemchanger app. Open it, click on "Switching" and give root permissions. When the screen goes black (again...), hold power + vol. down to get into recovery.
6) Flash ROM2.zip and Step3_Bootimg.zip and reboot in the OS
I had systemchanger app and clicked on switching after that I flashed mazout's rom then when I open app drawer in cm10 rom, I noticed that I do not have systemchanger app anymore nor camera app.?? what should I do? If I do all steps all over again sould it be working ?

If you flash another ROM, you have to flash the corresponding stepX....zip file right after before rebooting, else you won't have the dualboot app.
Since android 4.2.2 just got out, I'll wait until it gets stable and make my upcoming build out of it For now, my phone battery doesn't work very well so I can't really test anything until I get a new one.
Hey. I got everything to work and am dualbooting nicely. My problem is kernel. I flashed a recent CM7 with this and everything went fine. Then I went to install the most recent CM7 kernel from Maz (the OC) and that works until I switch to Rom2 and back. Then the wifi gets an error and wont do anything. The kernel wont stick. Did I miss something?
Also, last night went to bed with my phone charging and when I woke up my phone was burning hot. Had Max OC at 1100.
Thanks! Works great having a taste of 4.2.1 and a phone!

thank you, I see the problem now, and two question more; do I have to redo PART 1 - Resizing system partition everytime when I install different rom combinations or reinstall same roms and does that Resizing system partition harmful/useless or slows down the phone IF I only use 1 ROM?
I'm considering the dual boot, but want to know if it's possible to go back to single boot if/[hopefully] when radio is fixed. I suppose it'll be a matter of using original nvflash and format to have only one partition?
*edit1* Ok, now I'm getting my toes wet with this. fastboot.bin...what am I doing with this? The instructions say "install NVidia fast boot." Ok, but how? Or, has it already been installed with APX? I'm confused.
*edit2* ok I have dual boot! Wow this is interesting. Been running it through different combinations of reboots through system changer, and it seems when I update gb to the latest mazkrnl it won't stick after switching to jb and back again.
Do I need to use the boot.img from the kernel and repack it into step3?

Oh shoots. Somewhere along the line I managed to break the wifi
MAC address comes up as unavailable in jb, just says error whenever I try to turn it on in gb. I'm thinking start the process over?

You need to flash a kernel. I am having the same problem, but flashing a kernel after switching back to GB fixes everything.
Edit: fyi I use maz's latest kernel 0205OC

So, you mean that after using system switcher app, do power+vol up and flash kernel? Because any time I've tried that it only works on the first instance when i boot into gb. Once i go to jb and back again, the kernel goes back to stock. I'll try again though. Maybe fix permissions too!

When you system switch back to GB, reboot back into recovery and flash a kernel. I wouldn't say it goes back to stock because if it did there wouldn't be a wifi error like that. But for some reason JB works fine nothing wrong I have seen yet, though I just noticed I don't have a camera/gallery.
After switching back and forth so much I just flash the kernel and don't do anything else because nothing has seemingly changed if I wipe anything or fix anything.
If Maz has answer for this I would be much appreciated or anyone else for that matter.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
Edit: figured it out. A new boot1.img does need to get made with the new kernel already installed.
I created a new boot.img per the instructions on the original dual boot for p990 thread with maz kernel. Then I repacked step3_bootimg. Reflashed rom2 and the step3, then voila! So, you have to redo a couple steps if you want to update one rom's kernel.
Pic no longer related.
guys im having some trouble, when i go to the systemchanger app and grant permission instead of the screen going blank it gets stuck on a screen with two lg logos.
i think i havent installed the fastboot drivers correctly. i assumed it gets installed when i run flash.bat, but it may need to be installed seperately. if it needs to be installed how do i do it cause its just a .bin file and i have no idea what to do with it

I had the same problem. I fixed it by updating to cyanogenmod 10.1, the music player now works perfectly. I used the 160313 nightly. Also, that update adds a lot of nice new features such as customisable lock screen widgets, customisable launcher and menu transitions and mostly the new clock.

Yes, you need an unlocked/s-off bootloader and a custom recovery.
You don't need s, off...

It must have been a bug with that specific version of cyanogenmod. I recommend that you go to a 10.1 nightly, or try Viper. You do NOT need S-OFF.
So, can you guide me please to fix this problem ? =D

Basically, CyanogenMod 10 had a buggy music player on the One S. This is fact. They have addressed the majority of these issues in 10.1, but some sacrifices will have to be made. For example, you will get some screen tearing when scrolling, but if your One S is relatively new (anything under nine months) then you won't have many problems with that. Also (this could be just specific to my phone, not sure about anybody else) when trying to connect to mobile data, you have three options. GPRS, HSPA+, or nothing (sadly, when you are tied to Orange, you will experience the third option rather frequently). However, I use music far more than I use mobile data, because I have a computer opposite my bed, and Jelly Bean 4.2 has some snazzy features such as lock screen widgets, and the new digital clock is far nicer than the old analogue one.
So, follow these steps:
- Boot your phone into bootloader and select recovery (if you do not have TWRP 2.3.3.0, flash that in fastboot USB first).
- Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
- Go back to main menu, reboot, reboot into bootloader.
- On your computer, open the .zip file for CM10.1 and copypasta the boot.img on the first screen into your Android SDK platform-tools folder.
- Open cmd, change destination to the platform-tools folder then type fastboot flash boot boot.img.
- Rename the CM10.1 folder to CM10.1 and on your phone's SD card make a folder called ROMs (easy for switching in the future).
- Then type adb push CM10.1.zip /sdcard/ROMs.
- If both transfers are successful, then close cmd, as it is no longer needed. Or keep it open, whatever floats your boat.
- Go back into TWRP, flash CM10.1.zip.
- Reboot the phone, let it optimise apps etc.
- Reboot into bootloader, select recovery.
- Flash gapps 4.2.2 - I don't think that 4.1 works. Then again, why would it, it's outdated.
- Reboot the phone.
These are to make cyanogenmod 10.1 work to its full potential:
- Drag the notification bar down, click the tiles button in the top right corner, select settings.
- Scroll down to and select Apps
- Find Clock and cLock. Clear data on both.
- Find Play Store. Clear data.
And you have a phone with the latest version of Android that HTC don't want you to have and a fully-functioning music player.
Just a hint - download Play Music. Excuse my language, but Apollo is a pile of ****e, worst music player I've come across in my life.
oO -->
Can you kindly specify more in detail because I am a complete totally noob when it comes to android. Thanks

PLEASE BE SURE TO WIPE SYSTEM & DATA/CACHE (FACTORY RESET) WHEN COMING FROM AMAZON STOCK SOFTWARE.
(It's the "Wipe" button and then "System" and then "Factory Reset" button in TWRP -- this does NOT clear your sdcard space)
Be aware that the "sdcard" space has changed slightly from ICS to JB4.2. You will find your stock amazon OS files in /data/media/ or "sdcard" on the Stock OS. But CM10.1 will create a sub directory "/data/media/0" and call that "sdcard". And in TWRP it will also use "data/media/0" as "sdcard". This has to do with multi-user settings. So when placing files on the "sdcard" be sure to check both locations before wondering why that file is missing.
CHANGES (always includes CM changes):
[11/15] SElinux now included in the kernel and set to permissive. I don't recommend turning it to enforcing as I'm still debugging the "deny" messages.
[08/12] Includes a Trebuchet patch to fix the screen flip-flop when trying to drag an icon in landscape (by XDA user Wickets^)
[08/12] All new "from source" sensor driver
[08/12] Temp. disable light sensor (due to recode of sensor driver)
[07/31] First CM10.2 build
FEATURES / WORKING:
3.0.50 kernel (up from a stock 3.0.8 kernel). This includes updates from Texas Instruments, Google and Kernel.org.
PowerVR Graphics Drivers: DDK [email protected] for Android (Jellybean compatible)
Audio
Camera
Wifi
Bluetooth
Sensors
HWAcceleration
HD Codecs for YouTubeHD and Netflix
HDMI video out is now correct and work across several resolutions. YMMV
DEVS
BUILDING THIS ROM:
First, read through Google's Android website about "how to setup a build environment":
http://source.android.com/source/initializing.html
[ COMING SOON ]
SCREEN SHOTS:
CURRENT KNOWN ISSUES:
When long pressing icons in landscape mode to move them, etc the screen will flip upside down for a moment and right itself. This causes the action to be aborted.
Rotation selection in games is hit and miss. Some work perfectly and some like to flip the device upside down. Still debugging what is causing this.
AUDIO: Any decoder which uses Dolby surround current has a lower volume than the rest of the system (Netflix, Google Movies, etc). It's a WIP.
AUDIO: Headset volume still may be lowish. Testing better ways of increasing volume w/o distortion. It's a WIP.
Sensors: Testing various sensors, gyro seems 90 degrees off, etc.
Holy Crap, this is amazing!!! Thank you, Hashcode!!! The work you put into your devices is 2nd to none!
Thanks Hashcode, great work :good:

I'm sure the bionic libs will get optimized for OMAP eventually. The version of Android rolling to the GNex is the same as this.
I would imagine that their performance benchmarks dropped as well.
Any idea why I would be getting "Unable to parse data" errors in Titanium when trying to restore my apps after updating? I made a fresh backup beforehand, updated and now I can't restore... Tried every option I could think of, including setting permissions, etc. and nothing is working.

The old backup was for 4.2.2 apps and the system, the new 4.3 has different data and system info which is incompatible backwards. I'm running PA 4.3 and I get the same message also if you try selecting data only the system presents you with a warning that ROM might become unstable. That's my 2¢.

Worth upgrading right now from original Hascode release?
I don't really see a difference and benchmarks are low, mine was 8856, also if you have apps that you want to restore with data you won't be able to. I'd stick with 10.1 until more develops for 10.2, but wouldn't hurt to try it yourself.

Thank you for the work Hashcode! I have a question. Can I directly flash this 4.3 zip package over 4.2.2 without any wiping actions?
Well after I installed this ROM, I've decided to go back to my backup ROM Kinology 7.3.1. Went into recovery TWRP 2.6.0.0 advance wipe, and wiped everything except SD card. Went back and did a restore on my ROM Kinology 7.3.1(took 5-10 minutes), after the 5-10 minutes it said FAIL. This may not have something to do with this ROM, but just wanted to point it out there. If anyone had the same situation and found a fix to it, please help

Went into TWRP and wipe everything again except SD card, and did a restore and restored like a charm!
You rock Hash ! :highfive:

Just wipe cache and dalvik
So far so good, haven't ran into any issues yet, nice to see MX Player updated their app, its my favourite player & it didn't support 4.3 until yesterday.
EDIT: Wait, the new Focal app is always upside down.
Can anyone upload it to another mirror? Goo.im is very slow for me for some reason.
Thank you for this Hashcode. Really appreciate your hard work. Keep 'em coming!

Ahhh... Makes sense I guess. Silly there's no backwards compatibility though... Guess I'll have to revert back for now. I wonder if there'll ever be a way? Hopefully the devs of Titanium will figure it out!
