I have rooted my galaxy tab 7.0 (6210,wifi only). I have installed Rom Manager but the only options available under Rom Manager are the At&t GalaxyS2, Epic 4g touch, Epic 4G, GalaxyS i9000, GalaxyS2. The 7.0 plus is not listed. So how do perform a nandroid backup?
First install recovery by Gary in the development section, you will not be able to use rom manager to install recovery. Once your in recovery go to backup and choose back up to internal sd

I tired to do that but the only options it gives me is
reboot system now
reinstall packages
delete all user data
delete cache data
there is no backup option.
You need to root your phone first and install clockworkmod recovery. After that you should have the option to backup your current rom. Search for superoneclick to root your phone then download rom manager from the market and flash cwm recovery from inside the app. After it downloads cwm recovery and installed. Boot into recovery then backup.

I want to put CWM on my SGS4G. I already replaced the "update.zip" file and put the "recovery" file in the right place on the SD card and I have ROM manager dl'd and installed. My only question is when I hit the "Flash CWM" button in ROM manager, it asks which phone i'm using and it doesn't list the SGS4G. So which one do I choose....It lists....Google Nexus S, Google Nexus 4G, Samsung Epic4G and Samsung Galaxy S i9000. Which do I choose?
Also, i have already upgraded to the stock Gingerbread 2.3.6, does this make a difference? Can I still get CWM on my phone? Or is there a different way I have to install it?
Thanks for any help!!
First thing to do is delete rom manager. It does not work for this phone. Get rid of it. Second use Odin to flash a modded kernel. It comes with cwm. Look for one in the dev section. Make sure you use a gb kernel.

- The method you are attempting to use to update to CWM works on Froyo only; not on Gingerbread (GB).
- ROM Manager does not work on this phone & will cause you problems. You should uninstall it.
- If you're wanting CWM on your GB ROM, you have a couple of options:
-- Install a modified kernel that has it (like drhonk's KJ1 kernel)
-- Install bhundven's Subtly Modified Stock with CWM5 + Voodoo Lagfix
Best of luck to you.
hi all,i recently got cyanogen 9 on my galaxy s plus i9001,but when i go into rom manager &try to flash cwm.a list ofphones pops up,but not my one.any idea what i should do .any help on this matter would be gratefully recieved.thanks.
How did you install cm9? You obviously have root, I wouldn't play to much without a backup! Do you have latest cmw? If it wont work you could check out Amonra recovery, I use cmw so I can't tell you much about it. There are many threads here that will though.

its because rom manager does not support rom for our phone
You have to download a custom rom and flash it via odin or cwm

I use 4EXT Recovery Touch (ver. 1.0.0.4 RC3) for my backups.
If you install this on yr phone you can acces it in the boot menu and make complete backups from your whole OS.
When you connect yr phone to yr laptop after you could store the backupfile on your laptop if you like.

I was going to ask the same question.
so, how do I back up my HTC Evo View ROM then keep it on my laptop
and then restore it back into the tablet from my laptop? (if in case I did something wrong while rooting/downgrade it)
CWM backup. Then reboot & copy CWM backup directory via usb connection to your pc.

Hey there, I have a rooted HTC Sensation. I recently installed CM9 on my phone, before doing that however I made a backup of my stock ROM using Clockworkmod touch which I flashed using a fastboot command, I then wiped and installed CM9. I installed ROM manager after and pressed the button to install CMW to see if there was any updates, instead of updating it downgraded my CWM to a non touch version. I have made backups of CM9 using the non touch based CWM, my question is that will my older version of CWM restore a backup that was created from a newer CWM? Or... if I reflash a Clockworkmod touch recovery again, would I be able to access my original stock ROM and my CM9 ROM as well?
Many thanks
Jake
First of all, this is a question and therefore should be asked in the Q&A section. Regarding your question, I would go ahead and flash 4Ext touch. It is fully compatible with CWM backups, and touch-enabled.
I agree with above post, install 4ext recovery, it's a great recovery and very easy to use. It has many features! You won't regret installing it. You can get the download here on xda or even download it from the play store! It's the best recovery I've ever used! It will make things easier for you. Also I believe some roms require 4ext. Recovery. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
