no longer works after upgrading to the front camera of my nexus s ics, can anybody help me?
Sorry for my english but I write from italy with google translator
Are you stock or using a custom ROM?
I understand thagt you updated to ics via a custom/ported rom? Maybe that rom doesn't have a stable camera as a lot of experimental builds do not.

sadly none yet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397883
get used to it, or flash some ics rom
Tried to find out, is that possible? Sense 3 and 3.5 got nice camera applications, in desire S. So if i install sense 4, is it possible use camera apk from earlier sense's?
Sorry stupid question, if asked earlier.
No, you can't. Camera doesn't work at all in sense 4 yet.
It seems that Cyanogen based on ICS has camera, but semi-functional.
Thanks. Hope HTC keeps hurry on sense 4
I always wondered why is it so hard to have working camera on new roms... Does someone know why?

Because HTC had not provided the source code for the kernel yet. The libraries are something that only HTC can provide
Swyped from a primed Desire S
Oh... I thought that since hardware is the same, you could use old libraries from stock sense on ics...

The camera and camcorder are working fine on the latest Cyanogen 9 Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429215 , its pretty much there as a complete Rom now.

From what I've seen, it all depends.
Camera isn't the stock fast shooting camera in ROMs. If you need that, flashing ROMs wouldn't be the best choice for you.
Okay thanks I think I may just stay with ICS 4.0 then till the next android gets released in autumn?

What do you mean? Do you mean you will wait for the Nexus line of devices?
Almost all the roms have the stock camera. Only AOKP, CM9 and MIUI based builds + those where it is removed doesn't have it. TrickDroid and leeDroid has it. These roms are very similar to stock rom, except for some tweaks to improve batterylife/performance and they are deodexed to make it easier to tweak/theme
No I mean when the next Android os is released, called jellybean if I'm correct?

Oh, that's not released yet, so were not really sure if It's going to be Jelly Bean or something else. I will probably flash a Rom with next android version right after It's released, but I think it will take a while before It's stable enough for daily use

Oh... I always thought that the sense camera was unable to be placed onto a ROM, but any sense based ROM has the sense camera?
Not every sense based roms. There also are some roms called senseless roms, where apps and launcher and such ate replaced with aosp alternatives. As mentioned above, TrickDroid and LeeDroid are roms with sense camera

Hello,
Im using BlindICE rom right now, and I dont like the stock camera which is lack of functions. Can I replace the camera app with other camera like htc stock camera? :cyclops: Searched a lot about this, and most of the thread aren't replied, since 2011. @@
not possible.
Sense camera will not work on AOSP ROM
You can try other cameras from market

Well I want to hook my phone to tv with my mt4gs but doesn't work on cm base ics or jb only on sense. I was wondering if this will ever be fixed.

I didn't even realize that this feature was lost by switching to the non-stock roms. I hope this gets figured out by someone. I guess maybe running a multi-boot solution that boots a custom rom or slightly modified stock rom might work as a temporary workaround.
Yes I really hope it is fixed because I love cm based roms but I kinda need this feature.
Now I have tried sense 3.6 to sense 4.0 no go on them just have blue screen on tv nothing at all on cm based. But it works great on mik 0.7 so I stick with mik. Please devs try to fix for us please.
