Wow, looks awesome, played it yesterday with a friend.
No ads, and nice look.
An iOS version would be awesome though, to play with all of my friends.
Could someone please upload the apk here as I cant find it in the market. Thanks

hi
played this app with 4 friends at work and it's brilliant... have some feedback for you:
1 - table (asus transformer)
4 - players (htc desire, htc sensation, galaxy nexus, htc desire hd)
vibrate or sound on device when action is required. example, on device showing user's hand, whenever they are required to action, vibrate.
display text based on orientation. e.g. two players, text can appear upside down.
ability to see table on devices showing hands.
better display of what hand won...e.g. state on table, garpunkal won with high card... steve won with a full house (aces over kings).
Awesome app though, would be great to see continued development. Definitely useful for people travelling that don't have cards/chips, but have their phones on them.

If you don't see the App in the market, it might be because your device doesn't have OpenGL ES 2.0 (about 10% of all devices accessing the Android Market).

Awesome that you like it! We have to admit that this project was just for a university task, so we just published it in the market as-is and didn't really expect that it will be really played (only geeks have so many Android devices). So it's awesome to hear that it's really used
All of your suggestions sound reasonable, but the further development of the app really depends on how much feedback we get and we will consider your ideas when publishing the next update of the app
By the way, a sound is already played on the players device when it's his turn, but vibrating is certainly better. And yeah, the winning hand is dismissed a little bit too fast, so text based information would help to understand what's going on.
Which text should we display based on orientation? We display the players names in the right orientation and also his last action, but not the chips if I remember correctly.
Cool app, was just playing with my friends. ^^
It's taking quite a bit of space tough.
thanks for responding...
This app is very useful for a pocket poker travel game... easier than having a stack of cards and chips!
Would definitely like an update on this!!
After playing it again today I have some additional feedback:
- A console would be nice, where it all the action is shown, with for example, Player won with Straight to K.
- Vibration would be good instead of the sound, when it's my turn.
- Players could be better distributed around the table
since I downloaded your app I play poker=) thnx

Over the last 3 weeks I ported the lua code from Pax Britannica to Android. I used libgdx for that. I only implemented the two player mode so far. There are also some differences in the speed of the units. This is because of the smaller screen resolution and the so decreased distance between the factorys.
Pax Britannica is a one-touch real-time strategy game by No Fun Games. Two players battle it out underwater, struggling to be the last one standing!
How to Play
Select your ship to start a battle against the computer. Select two ships to start a local multiplayer battle.
Touching your game area (Left screen for player 1, right screen for player 2) spins the needle on the radial menu in the middle of the player's factory ship. The needle will only travel as far as the player's current resources allow. Resources (gold? seaweed? who knows!) accumulate over time.
Releasing the touch creates a ship that corresponds to the quadrant that the needle is pointing at.
Fighter: Small, fast and cheap. Great at chasing down bombers.
Bomber: Shoots slow projectiles that do massive damage to frigates or enemy factory ships!
Frigate: A great hulk of a ship that fires volleys of heat-seeking torpedoes. Effective against fighters.
Upgrade: Improve your factory ship to accumulate resources more quickly.
Ships you spawn fight automatically using the latest in artificial aquatelligence technology. The player who keeps their factory ship alive wins!
This is a complete rewrite/port of the orginal game available for Windows, Mac OS X and GNU/Linux:

made with libgdx

Works well on my HD2. Very cool game. With some added multiplayer over the net would make it amazing.

Works fine on Nexus One GRJ22. Maybe our screen is a little small for this game, but that's all.
First time i've tried this game and I think it's great
I agree that multi-device multiplay would take it to a whole new level
No errors or anything so far.

I really like the game!
It's the most simple game (control-wise) I've ever seen but I just keep playing it
- Some kind of level system would be awsome (keep upgrades but harder or different enemies fe.). At the moment it's a bit repetative vs cpu.
- Multi-device MP sounds cool.
- Could you have 3 or 4 player/cpu battles?
Keep up the good work!

Awesome port man. Maybe turn up the difficulty a little (same prob I have with the OG) but other then that perfect. 10/5
Fun game, really simple controls and is addictive!
I'd like to have it look nice on qHD screens though (for my phone), could you post the source for me to try doing that? Thanks!
Can it be posted on internet for multiplayer mode?

I just uploaded new version that fixes a bug with ad placement on phones with high density screen (my detection of tablets was wrong - I forgot about high density phones). I work on new levels, but it takes time - I have to make new graphics (most are public domain images from openclipart.org but I have to make many more) and music and design levels.
I wonder if Feint would be viewed positively? I personaly dislike it, so I didn't try to add it yet...
Ah, no wonder the ad keep bugging me from playing the game. Downloading the latest version right now.
Dig it, thx. nice job!

This is strange. I see Motorola Atrix (Olympus) on supported devices list and it's Tegra2 (so it's more than OK for this game) but there is no MB860 on the list - not on the supported list and not on the unsupported list - strange. Edit: maybe it was only a temporary problem with the Market? It had some problems yesterday.
Ok.. found the problem!!

ANDROID MARKET LINK
A new FPS was released on the Android Market recently, The Dead: Chapter One. The game is yet another attempt to replicate the COD: Zombies formula(hurray!). Although not explicitly mentioned in the Market description, this game is fully Xperia Play optimized! The analog sticks and buttons all work perfectly, and the touch controls disappear when you slide the gamepad out! I have played with the touch controls and they remind me of the controls for FPS games on Android before Gameloft. The Xperia Play saves the day once again.
Awesome! I was wanting a third person break from all the two stick zombie shooters.
I'm hoping this is more like L4D than COD:Zombies though :S
Jesus... I'm officially 20 games behind on updating my Xperia PLAY game list now
EDIT: Looks like they didn't add R800a to the device check -_- doesn't show up in the Game Launcher or work with the gamepad controls for me.
Controls are great... game is a bit boring after a while though.....

No it doesn't. Also I'd hardly qualify this game as awesome, you aren't missing much. You run around a 4 room house and kill waves of 20 zombies at a time (and they all look almost identical), eventually you get a key and a rifle, which shoots too slow to be useful so you go back to the pistol you already had. IMHO its about as deep as the shallow end of the kiddie pool.
If this game is awesome, MC2 is Beethoven's 9th Symphony. The only thing it has going for it is the targeting controls don't suck.
Controls is not working for me.. Saw some Xperia play options on control's settings, but no option to apply it.. So I just pressed back button..

Damn shame they're taking so long to fix this.
EnbornX had this same issue where the device check excluded certain models, and Lantansia had that **** patched ONE DAY later. I hope these guys do pick up the pace, because the touch controls are really horrible.
tried it on two plays. but no dice
The game's been updated! About to check out the new version shortly, I'll EDIT with impressions shortly.
EDIT: Working nicely! Shows in in the game launcher too. The movement does not give the option of Continuous (Analog) or Absolute (Swiping) it's all continuous, all the time. I like that you actually have control over the X/Y individually, and don't really have any major complaints about the controls... but the game itself is just kinda... *yawn*. Maybe it's just the first few waves, but I was slowly going to sleep.
Needs more emphasis on getting different weapons, hordes that really make you go "OH ****!" and whip out some awesome reaction skills... and... iuno... it's just missing that *magic* that Left 4 Dead had... it's got plenty of what made me get sick of CoD: Zombies in one day, but I don't want that.
Maybe I'm just setting myself up for disappointment by expecting what this isn't instead of appreciating it for what it is... L4D has me highly biased, and something that doesn't live up to that action usually just puts me to sleep.
Hi, I'm Viktor, the lead programmer on The Dead: Chapter One.
Thanks for all your feedback.
As TLRtheory mentioned we released a new version today and we hope that you all can enjoy the Xperia Play controls now. If you can't we would appreciate if you could contact us at our facebook page TheDeadGame or by sending an email to [email protected].
This way it will be easier for us to see and respond to your feedback.
If you join our facebook page you will also get all the lates news regarding the game.
Just got an email, sadly it is listed as Not Xperia PLAY Optimized. For the record this is the second game to be released without this support. Either way here it is:
EDIT - Per TLRtheory, it does use the XP controls despite it saying that it does not, going to guess its like Symphony of the Origin where it says not optimized but it is, sort of.

Sent from my R800at using xda premium
Loving it, but im convinced it's doomed to be a commercial failure. The hardware is terrific and everything I've ever wanted out of an Android console but the App store selection is a joke. Power users like us know that we can sideload all our favorite games to our hearts content, which is exactly what i've done, but someone who's never used Android before will get bored with it after about an hour.
I have about 3-5 OUYA exclusives i'm playing, whereas I have 12 THD/Gameloft games I'm playing due to sideloading. Oh well, at least i'm happy even though I doubt we'll ever see an OUYA 2. This should keep me occupied until Shield arrives at least.

Heck no! It's only skinned to look like an SMS app because virtually everyone is familiar with that kind of userinterface. The game does not send any SMS at all (see: permissions). It plays entirely on your phone wihtout any external communication.
Short answer: it will neither cost you money, nor will you pay with your privacy.

Works nicely, the UI is good too.
good show man! i love text based games, on my kindle keyboard i had a website that i could use to play these sort of games, i will try to find it again and maybe we get thouse stories on there?
Android version 2.1 maybe?
I don't suppose this can be ported back to Android 2.1 so it could be run on a rooted NOOK e-reader?
This would be a perfect app for an e-paper device like the NOOK Simple Touch or Glowlight - and there's a lot of them out there.

Text Fiction is a Z-Machine interpreter with a modern UI for playing Z-Code games like the famous Zork triology. Hundreds of free stories are available for download.

Just wanted to say thanks for making available! I haven't played any interactive fiction games in a while. I see many hours of fun with this. Just threw you a small donation. Many thanks, Sir!

Where did you find the Sherlock and Zork game? I just download the Text Fiction game and want to give it a try. I have not played these games in years. So cool.
Different awesome game. No button smashing

Just for the records: Text Fiction is just an engine for playing arbitrary z-code games (z3,z5 and z8). You are not limited to the catalog on my website. Thats just meant as a primer for people who want to jump right in without having to search for games.
