Skype with GT 7 + (muted mic) - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hello all, i recently purchased GT 7 plus. love it, but when i try to make a skype call, the microphone is on a permanent mute and i cant seem to enable it. i have seen others with this issue. Does anyone have any info on this issue?? Thanks!
GT-P6210

The mute icon ( bottom left ) is quite confusing. It's shows a red line across the microphone but it means that the microphone is working . If you click on it it will change color to BLUE and this is when the microphone is muted.

Do you NEED to use the headphone that comes with the GT7+ to get the microphone to work?
I tried calling from Skype to another Skype and normal cellphone, I can hear the other person, but they CANNOT. I tried pressing the Microphone button (red cross to blue icon then back), and nothing.
My thought the GT7+ have a microphone?

The microphone works without the headphones. At least on my tab.

Damn, didn't work on mine. I have the P6200, wifi version. Is there a settings in Honeycomb or Skype that i need to change?

I have a 6210 WiFi and had issues with my first Tab, which I have since returned.
I've also noticed that the video will work not work with all users, depending on what kind of camera they have.

Where is the location of microphone for 7.0 plus wifi? I didn't find it based on the manual

While you r on a call Unplug ur earphone then plug it back
It worked for me

Bluetooth mic doesn't work with voice search?

This just feels like I am doing something wrong or missing some setting somewhere, but this is what I am seeing.
I've tested using a Plantronics Voyager Pro+ as well as a BlueAnt S4 on an Evo with Synergy mod as well as an Evo with Fresh mod.
I can get the voice search app to open fine (using Blue Launch), the issue is that when I do the bluetooth microphone is no longer used and the microphone on the handset is used instead. This works fine in a quiet room, but fails horribly on the road. I've also tested this with other searching apps to verify it wasn't just the Voice Search app (default voice dialer fails as well).
You can test this yourself by sitting in a quiet room, starting voice search, then alternating blowing into the bluetooth mic then the handset mic. You should see the microphone icon on the screen fill up when you blow on the handset and empty to almost nothing on the bluetooth mic.
This seems like a major failing, something that shouldn't have been overlooked so I must be doing something wrong. How can I get my phones to use the bluetooth microphone when the bluetooth device is connected instead of the handset microphone?
Anyone have any idea or can point me in the right direction?

Cyanogenmod 7.1: stock headset mic not working

Hi everyone
I have a HTC Desire S with CyanogenMod 7.1 Stable and ClockworkMod as recovery. Everything is great except for my stock htc desire s headset.
When I insert the headset the headset is registered (showing a small icon with headset+mic) but the microphone is not working. It is not working in calls and not working in other apps (for example Sound Recorder which comes with CGM). The internal microphone in the telephone however remains active during calls. The microphone is working hardware wise, I use the headset with my laptop.
I am aware of this topic: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...headset microphone__fromsearch__1#entry237827
But I have a different phone and I am already using CGM 7.1 and just using 7.1 hasn't fixed my problem
Are anyone aware of any fixes / workarounds for this? Maybe some nightly builds which fixes it or similar?
Side note:
It also turns out that only one earplug is working (like mono sound) when using the headset in a call. Both works perfectly when using the Music-app wich comes with CGM.
Best regards
Wuhtzu
Could it be that the htc desire s stock headset uses a proprietary driver only included with htc sense or similar?
Best regards
Wuhtzu
I have same problem with u dude, but sometimes headset n mic work fine. I don't have any idea 4 that.
If that happened I just reboot my desire s n hope the problem is gone.
Sorry 4 my bad english
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
this thing involves alot of confusion, since also i have cm7 and when i insert the stock earphones it appears as regular earphones with no mic icon but it does work though i think

Could you be persuaded to try and report the result back? Plug in the stock headset with mic, note which icon is displayed (earphones or headset), try the headset in an app (Sound Recorder for example) and try the headset in a phone call.
im sorry for not being able to try now, but as i recall it works fine, just the icon that appears is for earphones with no mic, although i have the stock headset plugged in , but when i reboot with the headset plugged in the icon displayed is the one for a headset (with mic icon)
probably just a rom issue, not a big deal since the mic works
The problem persisted for me with the Cyanogenmod 7.1. I however never tried to reflash 7.1, which some people claimed would fix the problem. So that I will never know for sure.
I do however know that CGM 7.2 RC1 is here now and that upon first boot after 7.2 flashing my stock headset works as expected.
The icons ect. are the same as described vigorously in the original post. Only difference is that now the microphone actually works.
Thumbs up to 7.2 and the CGM team!
SOLVED for me!
Not sure if it is the same issue, as sometimes when I plug the headset only the headphones icon appears (the one without a mic icon) and sometimes the headset icon appears (the icon WITH a mic) and the mic works.
IT IS SOLVED now! turned out that when I plug the headset socket SLOWLY the mic DOES NOT WORK, but when I plug it FAST ENOUGH the mic works perfectly and the headset icon appears.
Hope this would help you out

[Q] Anyone Knows How to Reroute Microphone Profile

Hi,
I have a technical question regarding changing/re-routing microphone.
Here's my problem, it seems like my micro stopped working properly recently (maybe after a drop). The main microphone produces very little sound input and because of that, voice call doesn't work -- people can't hear me very well at all from the other side. Also voice recording doesn't work.
Spaker phone mode and headset mode works just fine. So i know the main-heandset-mic is broken.
My solution:
So I've tried a few approach, including editing the mixer_paths.xml file in system/ect/mixer_paths.xml
I have successfully replaced the main-mic with the speaker-mic and this seems to help a little bit. I'm able to record sound again using the speaker-mic.
But during call, it won't active that mic. I think android turns off all the other mic (both speaker-mic and headphone-mic, if it doesn't detect a headset plugged in and if I'm on normal handset mode).
Does any developers who knows android well enough to help me with this? I think somehow if I can have it so that android won't turn off my spaeker-phone mic when I'm in normal call mode would work, since the I've already replaced the mixter path profile of main-mic with that of speaker-mic.
Hope this is not too confusing..... I've trying my best to describe the problem. it's been very frustrating.

No mic anymore on Zp999 but voice recording still works? Is that possible ?

Hi,
I recently opened my Zp999 because i have some little dots on my screen.
I managed to pull off very delicate the USB/mic board to check the touchscreen underneath. but could not find anything on the screen.
But after remounting the USB board and checking all functions , i found out that when dialing no one could here me anymore.
Tested the mic with Z-device test : no result.
But when i record with voice recording this is still working.
Is this possible that voice recording works and dialing or videorecording is not?
ps : when i record a video there is no sound anymore
ps : google voice is not working either.
I did a full factory reset in the mean while but no result.
What is wrong? Did i crack the mic by someway...? Or connection not optimal by remounting the usb board...?
Thanks for the help.
hello friend the record microphone is not the same of the calling microphone the record mic place in the mainbord up in the right side you need to change the mic and its well work its cost about 10$ in aliexpress or to change it with galaxy s2 mic if you know to do that its the same mic.
Thanks for replying. I did replace it a long ago with a MIC board from AE. All OK since then.
Thanks anyway

Question Joying Zlink (CarPlay) and an inability for anyone to hear me over voice calls

Hey all,
Anyone have a solution for callers not being able to hear you when the call is taken through CarPlay over Zlink on a Joying head unit? My head unit is: JY-VO133N4. When I unplug my phone I'm able to have phone calls work great over blue tooth, so this appears to just be a Zlink/CarPlay issue. I can hear the caller perfectly, they just can't hear me.
Edit, they actually can hear me, but I come through with very low volume and with static, I'm undiscernable on their end.
Possible that it's trying to use the mic on your phone and not on the HU. I've done tests and this is what mine does. Where is your phone when driving?

Have same problem. zlink use phone mic?
I have the same problem, try to rec an whatsapp audio and listen after, It sound same when you make the calls and I think and the sound is too looow and pooor. My bluetooth calls are great!!! what could be the problem?
Same problem here, which got worse after updating to IOS 14.8.
I can hear all people very clear, BUT they hear me very far and distant (so it is of no use).
It is NOT a hw mic issue, nor a headunit issue, because when I kill Zlink and use the audio unit's bluetooth, all works perfectly.
My bluetooth audio works fine, It is a pity that the calls do not work, it is the only thing need for work perfectly
I know this thread has some age to it, but I recently started having the same problem that while using CarPlay through zlink, any phones calls, no one could hear me, but mics worked when connected to android BT. Also worked connecting a Samsung phone through android auto. Only occurred using iPhone and CarPlay. Been going on for a few months and couldn’t for the life of me figure it out.
Even updated to iOS 15 and same problem.
Today I finally got it working!!
This is what I did. Hope it helps others.
Connect to the unit and let zlink connect and go into CarPlay.
From within CarPlay, open google maps.
Press the microphone button in the bottom corner of google maps. You should get a pop-up saying that you have to allow google access to the microphone.
Immediately look at your phone, you should have a request on the iPhone to allow google access to the microphone.
ALLOW IT!
Then press the microphone button again in google maps. It should now allow you to use voice for searching.
Now go place a phone call!
This solved the problem for me. Hope it helps others.
Thought I'd found a solution but there was no microphone button on CarPlays Google Maps
