Hi,
When connecting the asus tranformer, or any other tegra 2 tablet, to the tv I get a wrong resolution.
What happens is that for the 16:9 ratio it cuts about 5% of all the borders of the image. If then I switch on the tv setting from 16:9 to fit screen it works well and I can see the whole tablet screen.
But some tvs don't have that option, and thus the image shows incorrectly cutting a part of the border of the image.
Do you have the same problem? Is there a fix?

Is there any way (via app/driver) to increase the display resolution for a docked g-tablet?
It looks like the hardware can drive much higher resolutons: tegradeveloper.nvidia.com/tegra/forum/does-tegra-250-support-2-deferent-video-output-hdmi-and-vga-same-time
I see the Motorola Atrix has an app that does this trick when docked in their "laptop" dock. It would be real slick to do this with my docking unit - I would probably never go back to a laptop or desktop again, except for remote control from my tablet.
TIA
It wouldn't make sense for a device to push more pixels than the actual LCD is capable of.
I don't care about the display on the tablet when it is docked and hooked to an external monitor - that could be turned off. What matters is the external display and how crappy 1024x600 looks on a 19" 16:9 monitor made to display 1440x900.
Our HDMI out is 1080p. 1080x1920
What are you hooked up to when getting higher resolution? Does the tablet display just turn off and external takes over?
Everything I have hooked my dock up to (4:3 and 16:9 19" monitors and 720p TV) gets the same resolution as my tablet display. So the bigger the display the more jagged the experience.
Thanks
i havent tested my hdmi output (waiting for straight cable) but the specs are there.
since max resolution on the gtab is 1024x600, thats what youl see, but through the cord the (720p, 1080p) resolution should show on the HD TV.
Hi Resolution when you use the YouTube.apk

I was able to get HD (1080p) using the YouTube.APK by selecting HD mode in the application setting. Both the Tablet and the external screen played 1080p videos quite nicely. If you turned off the Tablet display, the external screen also went blank. When I quit out of the APK and set the Tablet to sleep, the HDMI setting appeared to stick in the main Tablet settings. There is no easy way to set the Gtablet resolution using the standard stock settings.
After a few days and trying different TV streaming APKs from the Market. The HDMI Out stopped working altogether. I did a reboot as well as Flash the ROM but the HDMI OUT still does not display. It does recognize the HDMI signal (the LCD shows 1080P) from the dock HDMI port. I am not sure what happened but some how one or more default settings are stuck in the user data configuration file. One of those settings makes my SHARP external display go blank (can't display the set mode). The GTablet continues to display in both 420P and HD (probably 720P) modes.
I will try a data wipe and Flash again to see if it clears the HDMI setting back to the default mode (I believe that is 420p).
If this is the case, then we need some type of HDMI.apk that allows one to set the screen mode to Tablet only, Tablet & External or External only AND set the resolution mode for each. When watching using the dock and an external LCD, I want the default to be 1080p.
So, far when tricking the Gtablet to display 1080p I have some how broken the dock and have not been able to reset back to factory settings.
Any suggestions and/or configuration apk's to resolve this problem?

EDIT: Fixed the HDMI Display by using new cable. I get really nice HD output using the YouTube.APK with the settings set to HD.

I have a OP6 and I found an XP-Pen drawing tablet that I can use with Android via an OTG adapter.
It works, but the problem is, the active area is a 16:9 ratio, while the OP6 is 19:9. So anything I draw on the tablet ends up a little squished or stretched.
I was wondering if there's an Android utility that can alter how much of the tablet can be used at one time, and fit it into a 19:9 ratio probably, with a margin of the active area disabled.
Dears,
I'm getting an issue related to videos. When I try to watch a movie, normally with Amazon Prime ( but also with Netflix even with the setting 'play in fullscreen' enabled ), my phone continue to show 2 black bars on left and right side. And the video of course is not shown in a complete full screen mode... On Prime, I try the 'zoom' option but faces of actors have been cutted often.
I can't understand why and what to do. Of course the setting 'fullscreen' is enabled for every video app in the app settings.
Someone has got my same issue ?
- dimensions of PocoX3 screen are 2400x1080 pixels
- fullHD video has 1920x1080 pixels (16:9 aspect)
- if you want to see your video in 1:1 you will have 240 pixels wide black bars on either side of your phone screen in landscape mode
- if you zoom your video you'll loose black bars but your video will be crop on top and bottom, exactly as you described
- completely normal
- if you can live with distorted image, you can with some video players stretch (or fill) you screen in a way no part of video will be cut off (as I do not use amazon nor netlix not sure their players can do this)
I want to screen cast my phone to my tv because my tv doesn't have the discovery plus app.
I can cast my phone no problem but there are black bars on both sides of the picture on the tv. I'm assuming this may be because of a resolution or aspect ratio mismatch between my phone and my tv.
It's there a way to cast to my tv where the image fills the entire screen?
My device is a OnePlus 7 pro
Disable Overscan on your TV box.
change your tv aspect ratio to wide mode or zoom mode whatever you call that thing
The oneplus 7 pro is 19.5 x 9 I'm "casting" using the "Screen Cast" icon in the notification tray. miracast or bubbleunp (not sure which tbh, its an LG tv).
Changing the aspect ratio on the tv doesnt work. I need a phone based solution. I need to be able to just send a 16x9 signal.
When I watch 16x9 content on my phone, there are black bars on the left and right because my phone resolution is 19.5x9 and so im projecting that to a 16x9 screen, its literally casting my whole screen.
@jwoegerbauer I have no such option when casting video from my phone. It's stuck at 16x9
I have a RCA 1080p monitor connected to MSI GTX 550 ti through HDMI. My native and recommended resolution is 1360x768 but when I increase size, it shows image zoomed and too blur. I tried resize screen which made my resolution lower as it thought my monitor is low resolution, but there was a black ribbon on left of monitor. But then main issue is blur content and screen issue. Issue is resolved when I use HDMI on my led but issue remains in monitor. Kindly help me out

Hello, sound's like a driver issue. Whether the graphics card or the monitor isn't recognized with it's correct available resolutions. I would reinstall the drivers.
It sounds like you may be running into a resolution issue. The resolution of 1360x768 is not supported by your MSI GTX 550 ti when connected to an HDMI monitor. The highest resolution supported on a 1080p HDMI monitor is 1920x1080. You can try setting the resolution of your monitor to 1920x1080 in the display settings of your graphics card. This should resolve the blurriness and black ribbon issue. If you are still having trouble, you may need to update your graphics driver to the latest version. If none of these solutions work, you may need to get a new graphics card that supports higher resolutions when connected to an HDMI monitor.
