Boot animations - Thunderbolt General

I have used several boot animations. I have found one that I want but it does not work with the new recovery. It's the modern warfare one that has just the green screen with android in the background. I have the zip file if someone can help me convert it.

You could extract the boot animation and put it in what ever folder your rom's boot animation is in.

[Q] Cognition 4 custom boot animation?

Hi,
i just flashed cognition 4 to my captivate and i want to get a custom boot animation on it but i can't find the default one in my phone using root explorer. Is it in a different place on cognition 4? Thanks
According to the actual ROM features for Cognition 4.3.1:
- Boot animation customizable (disables boot sound)
Question is, where is the bootanimation.zip on this ROM?
I tried searching for it through Root Explorer but couldn't find it at the /data/local folder.
I also tried within the /system/media folder and I did find a bootsamsung.qmp, bootsamsungloop.qmg, which I guess are the stock samsung animations for the boot screen.
How to change the boot screen on Cognition 4.3?
I would also like to know how to change the boot animation on cognition 4. I have been all over the forum but cannot find any helpful information.
Custom Boot Animation
All you have to do is put the "bootanimation.zip" file directly into the system/media folder. It will overwrite the default animation.
You can also change the shutdown animation by replacing the "shutdown" folder in system/media/video. (For example, check out this mod... Download the shutdown.zip, extract it, then replace the existing system/media/video/shutdown folder with it.)
That would normally work but it isn't working for 4.3.1 cog, because there is no zip to replace.

It doesn't matter that you're not replacing an existing bootanimation.zip. Just stick it in there anyway and it should work. It worked for me.

[Boot Animation] Honeycomb Full Screen

Here is the full screen honeycomb boot animation. I noticed people were having problems with one that wasn't filling up the whole screen.
I have tested this on my Droid X running Liberty 1.5. Not sure if it's universal so if someone could comment on if this is working on other phones that would be great. I am not responsible for any damages to your phone.

Thanks for doing this it looks great!
I don't have liberty, can you flash this via clockwork?
Works on Rubix focused, thanks! Didn't flash via clockwork.
Used root explorer to copy the zip to system/media and rebooted, started right up. The animation almost gave me a seizure though...
been looking for a nice animation this one will do thanks alot
I'm glad you all like this!

Honeycomb boot animation
Save bootanimation.zip to root of sd card
Using root explorer or something similar, go to data/local and delete the current file named bootanimation.zip
Now go to the SD card and then copy the file bootanimation.zip and go back to data/local and paste the file there
restart phone and enjoy new animation
Very nice, this even works on the stock rom that's been deodexed.
Thank you sir!
Glad to hear it. Hoping I can get this working on gingerbread since they decided not to change the boot animation

[BOOT ANIMATION] Transformers 3

here are two transformers 3 boot animations for the droid x.
it looks a lot like this on mute:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxWGDVAOwik
the first one is a boot animation file that you can use root explorer to place in data/local, the second one is the same animation but in a zip file you can place in the root of your sd and flash cwm.

enjoy
edit - here is a v2, i cut all the text so that there is only the action, can get entire animation to play before my phone completes boot.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11997836/transformers3v2.zip (flash cwm)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11997836/bootanimation (2).zip (rename bootanimation.zip, place in data/local using root explorer)
Nice work, will flash this on my 2nd DX.
Hey thanks!

Cool. Looking for a good animation. Quick question: There's no way to add sound?

there is, but I've never been able to get it to work. you can have boot play something from system media (like stock one that says droid) or you can add your own. I've never had any success doing either.

This boot animation starts to skip when booting up

Sound won't work unless you script it in the bin yourself and add it to the build prop and init

Boot animations

I see much talk about changing boot animations and it looks like nobody knows there are apps for this. I am using boot animation changer lite (free) works great, don't have full version but within full version you can upload your own boot animations, or a cool one u may have found in a forum.just thought I would share this makes changing animations easy enough for a noob to do it leaving little room for error!

Or name it bootanimation.zip (or sanim.zip I think for stock) and put it in /system/media...
From XDA App on Infused v2.1.0 OCed to 1.6 GHz
or download root tools and use the ones they got, click on the one you want and it will download and install but then you use root explorer and then you can put any bootanimation in the root tools folder in place of the one that was downloaded then you go into the roottools and hit the one that you swapped out and then it installs and there you go you got the one you want now...

[Q] Boot Animation Help

Hi, running stock 4.0.4 rooted and debloated(not that it matters much)
I found this sweet Ingress boot animation and I'd like to use it for my phone, but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing it, and the threads I've searched through are boot animations from other devices or animations we KNOW work without bricking your device. Any insight?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098144
It's already covered here.
BTW bootanimation won't brick your device unless it's set onto a infinite loop.If the resolutions etc don't match it just won't show the bootanimation and will boot with a black screen.
All that you've to do is to convert the image files to the proper resolution for A2(540*960) and then replace the files in the zip and place it as covered in the post i shared the link above.
