Hi, guys. I'm running stock ICS 4.0.3 and I have a very strange problem.
When I use a program that has Cyrillic characters everything works OK, until it tries to download some information from the internet (also in Cyrillic). For example, I use a program to find restaurants - everything is OK with cyrillic text in the program (names of the restaurant, address etc), but when I try to read a review (it loads directly in the app) which is downloaded from the internet the cyrillic text is not decoded properly. I tried changing the Text encoding in the Browser, but there were limited options there (only Unicode, Japanese and Chinese).
Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

I installed supeaosp a couple of days ago and it runs quite smooth but I don't have text prediction in dutch anymore. When i type an email or sms, it only suggests names from my contacts but no other words, it does work with english however ...
any idea's how i can fix this?
I just got the Triumph, rooted it, Installed CWM, and loaded the latest MIUI.
I can send regular (english) SMS messages with no problem. When I try sending Chinese, the receiver doesn't get the Pinyin characters. The receiver gets a line of garbage (question marks, commas, etc). The same happens in reverse. When someone sens me a message in Chinese, I just get garbage instead of Pinyin.
I read somewhere there is a fix for this... a hack, if you will. I can't remember exactly, but it has something to do with the stock message app forcing 7-bit characters? Any ideas on how to fix this?
A friend of mine has this exact problem.
The only difference is that he uses CM7 and tries to send messages in Cyrillic (the alphabet, that is used in Russian and some other Slavonic languages)
I'd like to run translation from Latin to Cyrilic in any app. What's the best way to access that text.
For context.. here is what i want to achieve:
When i write messages with swype like keyboards in my language(Macedonian) they use Cyrilic. But sending Cyrilic texts is more expensive, so i would like to find a quick way to translate them. I could write java app no prob.. but i don't know how to access this text in any app. I've done this by making a custom keyboard and then changing to that keyboard whenever i need to translate.. but it's slow and repetative. I would like some easier sollution.
Okay, so I am on ICS and read several articles on firefox on my atrix 2. I was wondering if I can get text to speech on firefox (not Talkback because that enables TTS to everything which I dont want)
Hello, I have a problem with SMS messages, specifically with Chinese characters. Before I installed the rom MIUI6 on my device, everything was fine, but after restoring my original EMUI 3.0, I began to discover Chinese characters in my dialogue, sms and contacts. I already repaired contacts and dialog entries via the app root exploer. I rewrote 5 local.prop files (root/cust) of Chinese localization for English and 1 in build.prop (root/system). Contacts and dialogues are correct, but unknown numbers still show me in sms Chinese characters. If anyone has any idea, I appreciate any advice.
