Help required please - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I have just bought an unlocked skyrocket and I live in the UK.
I'm very happy with it,
1)It is running 2.3.5 and I can't upgrade it and shows a communication failed error there is an update but it's not available cos the servers are busy I went to device manager and cleared the cache and it still says the same thing. How do I upgrade?
2) What is the best way to remove the AT&T apps
3) what is the best and safest method to root which does a proper unroot later if required?
4)How do remove carrier iq as it is on this device?
5)Is there anyway to remove the AT&T branding?
I would be so happy if an expert could help me
Thank you in advance

This is the method that I used to root. But be careful when you do it. Supposedly this doesn't work with the 2.3.6 update.

After that, I used Root Uninstaller (in the market) to freeze or uninstall apps I didn't want. Another popular app to uninstall bloatware is Titanium Backup.
Unfortunately, I have no experience with putting the device back to stock.
Not sure how to remove Carrier IQ. I think this requires a custom rom (can someone else confirm?).

[Q] Factory Reset Question

Hello, I have a Verizon SM-P905V that I rooted and I'm now wondering about going back to stock in order to upgrade software.
When I rooted my tablet, I used an app called "Uninstall" to uninstall SDM and Knox and all the other bloatware rather than Titanium Backup and now I cannot restore these (lesson learned!) and if I try going to the "Software Update" tab in my settings it just crashes.
So my question is: If I do a data factory reset will these apps be restored? I don't care if it unroots my device. I'd prefer it be unrooted since I'll probably trade it in here in a couple months.
If it doesn't root however, does anyone know the process for unrooting this device and can link me to the method they used?
Thank you!

How to bypass Good for Enterrise root checking

Hi everyone,
My company decided to use Good for Enterprise for mobile email. I am using Xiaomi developer version and I don't wanna lose developers features. I bought a Teclast X89 for it has dual OS (both Android and Windows) and tried to install GFE on it. But GFE complaints my newly bought X89 is rooted and refuses to run.
I did try numbers of methods trying to get rigid of ROOTED status but still in vain. I tried-
1. resintall from scratch with the stock ROM. Of course it failed. GFE thinks it is rooted.
2. rooted it and deleted all busybox related files, deleted su and unroot it with differen method (unroot using different root softwares, unroot using unroot feature from superclearner). It also failed. GFE still complaints it is rooted.
Every time after I rooted and unrooted the device. I have checked it with root checker software to ensure that I have UNROOTED it. But, GFE is still complaining it is ROOTED.
Anyone has good method to bypass GFE's root checking?
Or, anyone has good way to totally UNROOT my device?
Or, can I flash it with a unroot ROM?
Does anyone have experience on Good?

Rooted OC3 update to OG9 & Samsung Pay

I am rooted on OC3 with KNOX intact. Is there currently a way to upgrade to OG9 while keeping root and not tripping KNOX?
My main motivation is in using Samsung Pay.
With Android pay, I can uninstall superuser (unroot) and Android pay works. then if i need to do something that requires root access, i can re-install SU and do what i need. will something similar work with Samsung Pay?
will i simply be able to sideload the Samsung pay APK and Framework APK? or will i have to upgrade to OG9? is there a way to upgrade to OG9 and keep root & KNOX?
what are those of you in my same situation planning on doing?
thanks!
In the same boat. **** up the creek without a paddle.

Same as you: Stock (OC3), rooted, Knox intact.
I had successfully installed Android pay. Disabled root with SuperSU. Activated my cards. Re-enabled root. And I was able to make android pay purchases! I was a happy camper....for about 1 day.
Now every time I go to pay I get the message: "This card cannot be used right now." I have tried everything I can think of short of permanently removing root or removing SuperSU itself: different cards, disabling root, rebooting, etc
I was just in the Play Store looking at root cloaking. Has anyone had any success with non-xposed root cloaking? I was looking at the app: Rootcloak Plus / Cydia Substrate. Don't know if that would work on our devices or if that would screw up knox. Anyone know anything about it? I don't have an up-to-date backup so I'm not going to try it just yet.
Here is to hoping someone finds a solution....
do yo have a link for the samsung pay APKs? all the ones i have seen on XDA will not install.
also, did you install the framework or just the samsung pay APK?
thanks!
Samsung pay finally showed up for me on Google play. It downloaded and installed. When I open Samsung pay I get a message that says a software update is required. When I click the update button, Samsung pay closes and I get a pop up that says unfortunately Samsung pay had stopped. Will installing the Samsung pay framework fix this?
From all I've seen, you have to be on OG9 for Pay to work. You could try installing the framework as well, and see if that works. It would be installed automatically in OG9.
for me, samsung pay was more important than root. it was one of the main reasons i got the phone as i tend to forget my wallet a lot...lol. as mentioned by others, when trying to install samsung pay when rooted, it would ask to update. so i unrooted via SU and updated to OG9. as of now, samsung pay is installed and working. however, does any know if i can still get root? i read somewhere that you just have update the ping pong root app and reapply. however, i've also read that ping pong root will not work with 0G9.

There is currently no way to get root on OG9.
OE2 is the last rootable firmware version.
Is there anyway to downgrade OG9 to OE2? Accidently upgraded..

Remove Verizon from Galaxy Tab 2.0

I have a Galaxy Tab 2.0 (sch-i705) that I purchased through Verizon a few years ago. I'm wanting to remove the Verizon bloatware and requirements from the device. This is likely already addressed in a thread, but I am not familiar with all of the terminology that folks use when talking about this process. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Walt
I think you are in the wrong forum. Anyway if you want to get rid of apps just root your device using kingroot then download and use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp
Howdy
It's not just apps I want to remove, it's everything Verizon. It keeps asking me for a SIM card, it wants to restore contact information from Verizon, and it won't even let me update the operating system because it's not in contact with Verizon. I'm hoping I can get rid of these items and then install the last OS for the device. Is this possible or am I left with a machine that Verizon controls?

You have to unlock the bootloader ( I used to flash Xoom using adb fastboot ) for your device checkout here

Need assistace, rooting a device and or advice

HI i am new in this (but very good following steps and instructions )
i have a Kyocera Duraforce e6560, I have read something about rooting and i discovered that rooting is one thing and that installing a custom rom is another thing.
In my case the only thing i want in my phone is to enable the MMI codes functions and to remove the hotspot restriction (AT&T is well known by blocking the hotspot functionality of their phone if used with another network.
My doubs and questions:
Can i do that with rooting the device?
once i modify what i need to modify in order to get those functions working back again.. can i "unroot" the system back?
and if possible to remove some bloatware
can you help me to get that?
I have install first flashed twrp recovery and i flashed android recovery thinking that twrp will be removed.....
but it causes problem my Samsung star pro does not reboot.....
I found this thread while searching for a solution for the same hotspot problem.
The solution I found was the PdaNet+ app on the Google Play store. It works fine for me with an AT&T DuraForce E6560 and my Windows 10 laptops.
