[Q] Is it possible to hack the HD7 after the copy-paste update?

Hi,
Chevron worked fine until I updated my Windows Phone HD7 to the latest upgrade (The one with copy-paste).
I did it while my phone was locked (I don't know if it matters)
Is there any way I can use Chevron again? It does not seem to be working after the update.

no...there is not any chevron to unlock nodo!!!!
just u can restore your phone,unlock and then update! you should n't go to market place or internet if u want to have nodo and jailbreak!

I think you meant "don't update sideloaded apps through Marketplace". For me it works to download from Marketplace with sideloaded apps like "Samsung tools" and "Root tools" (Focus) and "DioDict" (no longer on mktpl) just fine.

Please search the forums before you ask anything. This question has been asked and answered many times and you would know that had you done a simple search.

u hack the hd7 with chevron after nodo update???

Cannot deploy xap all of a sudden

Hello all,
I have been able to deploy xap file up until today.
Nothing changed except for me installing Tango on my Samsung Focus the other day which I uninstalled because it didn't work well.
Today I tried to install another xap and it's telling me to connect my phone.
I have zune running and it sees my phone and it has synced without any issues.
I did the same on a HD7 and it worked fine.
The Samsung Focus has mango 7720.68 with chevron and interop unlocked.
What I've done, reinstall wp7 sdk 7.1 and zune 4.8.
Any help is appreciated.

Nope, had that exact same issue about a month ago. The only thing I could do was a factory reset.

Did that remove the chevron unlock, if so, can you still unlock if you had provxml or will need to go back to pre-nodo and unlock?

Silly question, your phone is not under lock screen when you try to deploy?
Another silly question, can you open other applications which were sideloaded?
In case yes for both questions, try a newer version of xap deployer, like the one that comes with the new Windows Phone 7 Market Place. Also, try this tool http://wptools.codeplex.com/, does it work?
In case no for the second question, you lost your unlock somewhere.
Restoring an old ROM is just a workaround the issue, but if you don't wanna try then I guess restore away!

If i do factory reset the phone, will it also remove the provxml that was loaded to the file system, or will it keep the unlock in the diagnostic tool so that i can run it to unlock?

Try rebooting your computer a few times and use a different USB port. Sometimes my computer would lose communication and not deploy to my phone until I rebooted it if you send many xaps that use COM interop to it. Weird quirk.

maybe you have again to register your PC with the ChevronWP7.reg (for PC registry)

Yes that makes sense also due to the fact that you need Interop unlock in order to run COM Interop.

I've done this, also used another computer on which I used to deploy xap, same thing on that.
Used different USB cables as well.

I had mango without the interop unlock and was able to sideload apps.
I have applied the chevron and interop unlock using diagnostic menu on Samsung Focus multiple times, however, it did not work.

Soooo you have tried HeathCliff thread on how to INTEROP-UNLOCK Samsung phones?

The phone did have the interop unlock, i've even applied the wifi tethering, so i know it was interop unlocked.
Nothing worked so I just loaded 7004 and went from beginning.

chevron unlock problem

hi all
my phone is already chevron lab unlocked and i just INTEROP UNLOCKED it too but when i try to deploy any app i get error that phone nedds to be unlocked or run zune but my phone is unlocked and zune is also running.
can anyone tell me how to deploy xap files to my phone ?
i used tom deployer and application deployment. application deployment gives me 0x81030120. i tred deleting that one line from file but it still does not work. i am trying to install touchxplorer and registry editor.
any help ?

1 Connect your phone with the pc
2 Launch zune (log on on zune)
3 unlock your screen on your cellphone
(scroll a little on the menu for that can't back lock the screen)
4 open your xap deploy programm
5 choose the xap
6 deploy on your phone.

i still get 0x81030120 error if i use application deployment tool and if i use tom deployer it says my phone s not unlocked or i need to run zune but zune is running and i just paida 9 bucks to unlock my phone plus i just interop unlocked it also so i don't know why can't i install apps on my phone.

try uninstalling and reinstalling window SDK it again
Ps.after uninstall one you should restarted the first round, then install one

I've got the same probleme and i have restar my pc and relaunch zune then it work great.

somebody told me in a different thread that it's because i have the latest update of wp7 which is not interop unlocked yet so the interop unlocked i tried didn't really unlock my phone but my phone is chevron lab unlocked. so i have to wait till the interop unlock comes out for this update.
the person who told me this had the same problem.

Had this problem ALLLLL DAY and drove me crazy!!!!!!

but it's for samsung not for hTc.

Dude your device is not interop unlocked (it hasn't worked yet)...That error clearly indicates that your device is not interop unlocked. Try to install other app which doesn't require interop unlock and tell us what error do you get now?

yup that's what i have figured out that the interop unlock didn't work so i just have to install an interop unlocked rom till interop unlock comes out for mango's latest update.

Use DFT's HTC custom roms.

dont know if this will work for you but when i had that problem i used a different rom,,,,,,that worked

I'm trying to unlock my HTC HD7 but I can open ChevronWP7 and tick the boxes but when I click unlock it says Sorry, I'm having trouble communicating with the phone

Chevron starts to unlock my phone then in the middle of it, it stops
new error - ChevronWP7 won't even open now back to square one

Make sure you have Zune open and that your phone's screen is not locked.

Hum I'm not sure how Chevron Labs works but when I unlocked my phone via Dev unlock, I had to use the Windows Phone Registration that came with Windows Phone Developer's Tools.

I dont think it really matters, but i have unlocked my phone yestarday with the Chevron method and I have all of the Windows Phone 7 developer tools, latest zune, latest Phone OS.

Which version of OS do you have? Check it in Settings->About
Chevron unlock only works if you have the OS version 7004 or 7008. It does not work after NoDo update.

Ok my OS version is 7.10.7740.16
just to update my problem - Chevron starts to unlock my phone then in the middle of it, it stops

the problem is in the .cert . i solved the problem in this way. set the date to june (this year 2011) because i think the cert i valide to november...

Your phone and PC should have the same date, I think. Try changing the date on your PC too and check.
However, as I said before, Chevron unlock via cert method is known to not work on OS versions later than 7008

Flash it to either stock ROM(Chevron will then work) or to fully unlocked Mango ROM.

[Q] how to interop unlock samsung omnia w

now my samsung omnia w is dev unlocked from APP HUB via student account.
But my phone still not interop unlock. i used all the ways. it can't show "windowbreak" or "system tweak" in GPRS menu.
please help me to interop unlock.............

Downgrade your firmware and/or your Diagnostics app. The first and easiest thing to do is uninstall Diagnostics from the app list, then re-install it from the phone dialer. Check GPRS again.
If they're still not there, that means your firmware version is too high to use this kind of hack (both of them work the same way). If you have installed a Samsung firmware update, you'll need to roll back the phone to the backup that Zune should have created when installing it. If you don't have a backup, or if rolling back doesn't let you interop-unlock, then you'll need to find a stock ROM image with a lower firmware version, and flash it to your phone.
Those are the only currently known options, unless you want to wait for somebody to find a new way to interop-unlock your phone. Such a way might exist, but don't hold your breath as people have been looking for such things for a while and there's no guarantee when one will be found.

* Whether gen1 or gen2, any Samsung phones with the recent Samsung firmware updates installed will not be able to use hacks of that type. It's not something that Heathcliff74 can do anything about; it's just the way the hack works (they put a file on the phone, but the new firmware causes the phone to not check the location where that file goes anymore).
* There are people working on new ways to unlock Samsung (and HTC, and Nokia, and even Dell) phones!

Well then i may get the unlock method uff felt happy aftr listening to ur words Hmmmm will wait for it

First post, and first thing I did was unlocked my omnia w (telstra nextG version for those in Australia). Can confirm that the windowsbreak project worked for me with diagn ver. 1107.

dude can u upload the zune backup image of ur phone its located in %localappdata%\microsoft\windows phone update\ folder..the backup image which u were onwhen u unlocked..

wtf??hmmm..i dont think i get my omnia w interop unlocked by any means..at least ms should have allowed int unlocking and stating that it would void your warranty..like how android allows rooting and states rooting voids warranty(if u want to claim warranty for some reason just its as simple as unrooting in android)
how about this??going to a samsung service centre and asking them to flash my phone to 7720 or 7740..coz everybody knows omnia w when release has 7720 build of mango and because of this reason only some of and very few of the omnia w owners have int unlocked their phones..

Interop unlocking is simply the byproduct of shoddy OEM apps, its not a feature, ms didn't have to tell us diddly squat about it not doing it because it was never meant to do it. There maybe hope, but there aren't enough developers, we need folk like you to do the work as well, im trying, i now know what won't work, i know what might work if we can do things but im still learning, I can't scratch the surface of what the big players on here know so we must all work together and not rely on others

this is a file explorer that can set maxunsignedapp value in registry..dev unlocked phone is enough..so if u get a student license somehow, u can sideload it to ur omnia w and set maxunsignedapp value to more than 300..boom u r interop unlocked(cuz thats what heathcliff74 has said in his website http://www.wp7roottools.com/ that if u have maxunsigned app value more than 300 u r interop unlocked)
just try u dev-unlocked omnia-ed dudes!!!

Where does it say that to edit the reg with that program doesn't require interop unlock?
