Don't forget to format the system also. That could be your issue. Go to clockwordmod/mounts and storage/format/system

Hey Guys,
So I just rooted my Thunderbolt the other day with Cyanogen 7 Mod version 7.0.0. Today a new update came out (version 7.0.1) and I was trying to figure out if I needed to wipe my data and cache in order to update to this version. Hopefully someone has the answer. I am new to android and am looking for advice. Thanks in advance!
Wipe data
Wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache in the advanced portion of CWR
then install the ROM
Do all three at least 3 times just to be sure.
Make sure your battery is fully charged.
Anytime you install a new ROM follow this. If a small modification like new market, pull down menu. just wipe cache
Hopes this helps

-sent via 1.21 giggawatts of android.
wipe 3 times? excessive much? once is sufficient and additional wipes wont do anything more.

+1 to wiping just once.
Also, OP, keep in mind CM7 for TB is pre-alpha and does have bugs. If you're looking for a daily driver, since you're new to Android, perhaps you would want to try a more stable ROM to get your feet wet, and once you get the hang of things, perhaps trying CM7 or a leaked ROM.
Good luck!
Wipe 3 times Anal retentive much? ...haha anyway
Wipes of caches sure but ....
Flashing CM7 7.0.1 over 7.0.0 there is no need for data wipe .
If an issue does arise you can wipe it after but why reinstall all your apps really?
This has been my daily driver
No 4G here yet & I use do not use wifi regularly.
are there still issues with CM7 not being able to use phone information (EPST) or ##778# to manage / edit modem settings?
i think i'm stuck on 3g...
there's an app called network that lets you pick which radio you want to use..I used it to switch from 3g/4g to 3g only...it has 4g only.
I always wipe 2-3 times ever since the OG Droid days. It takes you 30 more seconds, whats the big deal. If it somehow bricks because the wipe wasn't successful or you have to reflash a rom it will take you another 10-20 minutes.
Better be safe than sorry.
I've followed the steps outlined in the following thread but i can't get data to stick. It frequently drops even the 3G connectivity.
Also noticed that bluetooth isn't workinig.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13881413&postcount=2616
Any tips on what I can try to get data to stick.
Hello my name is Alex and I am from Germany, Bavaria.
I'm new here and would like to apologize for my bad english at the beginning.
Since 2 weeks I'm the proud owner of an LG G2x P999 smartphones.
I've flashed directly with the Hellfire Sandwich v1.9 ROM.
That also works without problems by the good instructions.
Now I have the problem that the battery indicator is always set to 100% and does not change anymore.
Can someone help me here?
Thanks in advance.

Your English is fine and did u wipe ur data factory reset, clear cache partition, and clear dalvik partition because I know not clearing it can cause problems. If not try that and see what happens. Also how long has it been at 100% are you using it a lot too?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Here the order of my wipes:
1) data and factory reset
2) wipe cache
3) wipe dalvik cache
4) wipe battery statistic
The battery charge level indicator shows always 100% until the phone turns of because an empty battery.
If i charged the phone to 100%, i have the same problem as before.
Always having 100% Battery sounds like a good thing to me!!
What version of clockworkmod (how did you flash it), are you running and are you flashing any custom Kernels?
I recently tried to root my Galaxy Blaze under ICS 4.0.4. I downloaded files from a thread that explained step by step how to do from k0nane. When I ran Odin it said PASS. Now the only thing the phone does is vibrate, Samsung screen comes up, and the stays loading in the Tmobile screen. What do I need to do? Please help.

You need to read.. All you need to do is go to the ROM BIBLE Thread and read on how to root your phone..

What!
Thanks for the reply. Im not good at this stuff or know codes lol. What do you mean by ROM BIBLE.
Well I got it working finally. The only thing IM trying to get working is to go around TMo mobile tethering. I downloaded barnacle and can't get it to work.

Are you on ICS? If you have titanium backup go into it and look for tetherprovision and freeze it. Gets around T-Mobile tethering restriction.

Done!
Im done, running CM10 and 4.1.2.
Weird!
As a couple of days pass I noticed my phone turning off a couple of times a day. Could it be that I have the wrong kernel. I never changed the kernel after installing the new ROM.

Do you mean in the mounts and storage screen in CWM, format the system?
how long did you wait after rebooting?? It will take up to 5 minutes or more to rebuild the cache

Yes. Wipe that (system), cache, davlik cache, and factory reset. Wipe each of them atleast 2 times, since your having issues. Then flash ROM, then gapps, reboot and wait 10 minutes, then reboot and complete the start up.

I forgot to wait 10 minutes after a rom install! I got a bit excited Do I have to reinstall the rom or anything? Does this cause any long term issues?
Not sure what you are talking about.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium App
It is likely that your version of TWRP is old or if you are installing android L preview it takes a while.
you don't have to wait for anything.. once its done, its done.
Is this like the wait parents make kids go through before they can open their Xmas presents?
Some KK stock based ROMs have rubbish updater-scripts that leave the ROM "formatting" for about 10 minutes. Not sure if this is what is being referred to as this is not technically after a ROM install.
That said, no idea what he is talking about otherwise
Hello guys! Thanks for responding super fast.
Im taking about the the "10min" wait that some developers say to have after first booting up a rom. Ive heard it was for all the little bugs and stuff to get worked out, so i should leave the phone alone. I forgot to wait this 10 minutes so i was wondering what would happen.
Yes, I remember the wait 10 minutes from my S2.
You don't see that recommended anymore. ?

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!?!??!?!
Just kidding, nah, you're fine. Like the post above me, the 10mins is more of a 'settling period'/recommendation than anything.
I remember rooting my Evo 4G and installing Cyanogenmod 7, not reading all the way through and neglecting to install Gapps: ".....where's my Gmail???? Uh oh, I think it's broken forever...." Ah, those early days of rooting and flashing, I remember them well
I think our modern processing speeds on these devices have eliminated the need for waiting. Just my guess. ?

The only 10 minute wait I have heard of is waiting for Dalvik Cache to rebuild before getting to homescreens. I have never seen a developer recommend waiting 10 minutes after booting... The first Android ROM I flashed was 1.5 Cupcake - so i'm not particularly new to this either :/
Every S2 t989 rom used to have the wait 10 minutes step after first boot. Lol I rarely did... Maybe 5.

I wonder if that was one of those "bad rumours" that started like wiping Battery stats... That fooled "developers" and developers alike.

like wiping dalvik when flashing a ROM, or better wiping dalvik to flash a kernel.

Hah yeah.
My favourite is "wipe data, wipe dalvik if coming from a new ROM".. Well duh, wiping data wipes dalvik anyway.
I never wipe dalvik myself, but many updater-scripts I end up using do

Depends on the updater-script. Some do, some dont.
Some kernel devs recommend to wait 5-10min after flashing their kernel for the first time (like Uber).
1. For best results a install these kernel after a fresh ROM install (although it still should work if you don't do that)
2. Reboot into recovery (needs to be N5 AOSP 4.4.4 compatible)
3. Flash Kernel Zip
4. Reboot and let Settle for ~10 minutes (optional but recommended)
5. Navigate to system/etc/uber_v1.3.cfg using your favorite root file browser and change values based on descriptions to whatever you want.
6. Enjoy!!!

When I had my Note 3, a lot of devs recommended that you flashed and let the ROM settle for 10mins or so before setting up. I never used to bother (still don't) It can settle once it's set up and goes into deep sleep.
