Hi,
Did you download the USB drivers? if not download from here:
http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/LG-P999.jsp
Its under the "Downloads" section
For Root, i used the following links
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255214

Its pretty simple, and only took me 20 minutes. At some points it may be a bit confusing but just follow the directions very closely.

Need help with rooting my g1

Hi im new to this rooting stuff and i need some help bad I got a g1 and it was in donut 1.6..i read a thread that said i had to get it back to a 1.5 firmware and after i did that i wasnt able to one click root it. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!! for some reason my file manager wasnt accepting the flash recovery image and now my fone is stuck with no on screen keyboard and camcorder..Im sorry if this thread has already been answered but i couldnt find anything to help..any help is much appreciated THANKS!!
hi, You could go over to cyanogen's wiki and start over. here is the link http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_G1/Dream_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod , just make sure you read it over a couple of time's cause there is a chance of bricking your device. Oh and when you get to the part a bout the signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-ota-14721.zip HTC took the link's off for some reason but you can find them at http://www.mediafire.com/?zywmn354kre , or if that one doesn't work for you there is http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BYJBWHAB. I'll say it one more time make sure you read it over and over, and make sure you understand what it say's to do before doing it. Lot's of people have bricked there phone's for not following direction's, and it's no one's fault but your own. Other than that if you have any questions just ask, and ill be sure to help.

[Q] Clockworkrecover? or NVFlash which one?

Hey guys Sorry for repost of the same questions im freaking out here... I just did some research (something i should have done before posting first , but im in freak out mode)....
Im stuck in bootloop after using the latest TnT lite...I would like to get that back .
I researched how to address this, however i see a couple of ways to get this thing running again, here is what I found:
Using Nvflash got this on TegraTabs site... does this require using my computer?
Here XDA... I saw that someone had the same issue and Clockworkmod Recovery was suggested.
OK this is where i am comfused If i use Clockwork I need my windows (vista) computer correct ? and it looks like I am going to be using command lines also (not a big deal for me)... I saw that i am going to need android SDk and also tegra drivers as well?
I am not looking for the easiest way looking for the best way ... Sorry for asking again however being a noob to Android I just want to make sure that I am doing things right.. is there any other information that would help you guys help me? let me know... again thanks you guys... still in freak out mode and dont want for my money to have been thrown away...I appreciate the help....you guys rock

Best way is to download the Android SDK (to get ADB), the Tegra drivers and NVidia's SDK which includes nvflash. You can get the Tegra stuff here or over at our sister site, tegratab.com (we started putting stuff up there while waiting to get our own forums here on XDA). To get nvflash access, you'll need to modify the Android SDK's INF file (if you're on Windows). Nvflash can get you out of almost anything. Best to back up your images using nvflash before you flash anything else, that way you've got a copy of what's on YOUR tablet as it comes, stock. Since you're stuck in a bootloop, I'd guess you no longer have any stock partitions so maybe just pick up the stock images from over on tegratab.com. They should be fine for you but it's nothing like having a pristine copy of your own images.
Hope that helps. Not sure if I gave enough detail but shout if you need more. We have some really good people here.
Yes you need a PC for NVflash. If clockwork fails then your going to have to NV flash back to stock.
Hey guys I would like to thank you for your responses

I'm getting pi***d off... Please spare some time to help me!

Hello. Let me introduce myself. My name is Nebojsa and im from Serbia. I have SE Xperia X8 Android phone with 2.1 version. After 3 days of searching and around 100 "Master Resets" on my phone i started to hit the wall with my head. Now when im bleedin' and turning into a super sayian 5, i wanted to finaly ask a question. As you "Devs" said in that video when trying to register, i just became a noob... After so long when i could find anything i need without any help. So let me no bother you anymore and get to the point.
I want to update my phone to any latest version that has no bugs like non working camera? I mean i dont want looks if my camera is not working........... So... I have followed so much different tutorials and such and its like i go step by step and then on a video guy goes into xRecovery folder and im like because i dont have it! after all dls instalations and such i dont even know what to do next...
What i request of you that you give me such a tutorial like when showing me a tutorial how to take my lungs out and not die... Step by step...
Example: There was a guy that had a tutorial where he cant even speak clear and he says now install xrecovery...i have a rar file with like 20 files of it and i just get confused...while he alrdy has it installed and just slice through it...then on other tutorial guy says install some kind of explorer and he alrdy have it too and im looking at a file with .apk at the end having no idea what to do with it....
I thank you for your time and i would like you to help me as much as i deserve. Thank you a lot.
P.S. I cant even install angry birds????

[Q] Bricked Atrix 2

Ok so my (dumbass) friend wanted to change the rom on his phone and now he bricked it. I have done alot of things to my CRAPtivate, and now I said I would look at his phone and see what I can do. Anytime I had a issue with my phone I would use ODIN and clear it all and put it back to stock. Is there such a program for this phone and can you direct me to a step by step guide into fixing this beautiful phone? The only way it is turning on is when it is plugged into the charger, the boot screen stays on and that is all that happens. I am getting the phone in the next two days and I just want to prepare and start reading up on it. I will appreciate any help and thank you so much.

Yes, with Moto devices we use RSD Lite to flash an "fxz" to the device. Here is a good guide on how to flash back to the stock 2.3.5 AT&T firmware. Good luck!
I looked and looked, thank you sooooooo much, I thought I could delete this post but I cannot, so please delete if you wish!

don't worry, you're not the first person to ask. If I ever get around to it I am trying to write up a really simple guide for these kinds of things. Those of you who know me on here may have realized I have a tendency to let projects die. Feel free to yell at me when I do!

[Q] About superoneclick-Please someone respond

Well guys..I am so afraid of bricking my brand new phone so i have been searching for alternatives(rather than using adb push stuff)to root it the last 3-4 days.I have a DS running 2.3.5,software version 2.10.163.5 and hboot 2.00.0002,branded.Can i use Superoneclick to root it and then flash a custom rom or i need to unlock my bootloader by using htcdev(its better to stay stock rather than using that) and then use the Superoneclick?I dont want to blow up my phone so i am asking for your help guys..
You can't be bothered reading, can you? It's so much easier to open 10 threads with questions that are answered 100000 times, than to sit and just read, is it?

First of all relax. You have no [email protected] idea how much reading have i done for this.I have like 23 bookmarks on my browser to try short things out.So give me a break. Most of the guides i found have comments below that say "Not working","Error,HELP" and stuff. All i wanted is a clear answer.YES or NO.I am so [email protected] confuced about the methods so i asked for a clear answer. If you got it i will push the "thanks" button and say i appreciate your help.If not, please do not even bother saying read because i have done MUCH reading.Believe me.
You're reading the wrong sources then.
Read the index thread.
Read the guides.
Read them and try to understand, what each part and each command is doing, and what it's needed for.
You're asking the most basic questions that just about anyone knows the answer to. Try asking Google: "what is S-OFF", "what is the difference between root and S-OFF". Read the answers.
And really, yet again, the same piece of advice: not all phones have to be rooted. Stay stock until you understand enough to mess with your phone. It's better for you, and it's better for your phone. Believe me, having 10 apps you don't use means nothing for your phone.
Jack_R1 is a super help when u need it.
What u need to know is those post are on sticky for a reason, if it is unsafe it would have been remove, and ppl have actually succeeded in unlocking and rooting based on those post. yes there will always be one or 2 error, but it was solve somewhere in those page. I did the instructions in page 1 and found solutions to my errors in between page 40-50 and another solution in another totally different post. Google will be your friend.
Everyone is afraid, who isn't. i flash my phone when it was just 3 months old, and it was my 1st touch screen android phone.
Based on what i read that u should try to avoid HTCdev(bet there is a post somewhere saying why).
Try to read the sticky, find which method is best that u can understand and is most suitable with ur device then go with it, when u encounter and error, try the search button, if u still are not able to find the solution then create a post.
Ppl here are genuinely willing to help when u done all that u could.
There is also a sticky explaining the meaning words if you do not understand any(which honestly i do not understand before flashing).
Take your time, there is no competition/time limit, Find a day when u have nothing to do. Read through, and make sure u follow each step accordingly. i miss one step which force me to pull out my battery, twice. But after the horror ordeal i am now flashing between roms every now and then and enjoying it.
Cheer and try to be polite.

Thanks man.I was waiting for that kind of answer and not like Jack's.Well the only reason i didnt want to follow the guide which in my case is Zergrush is because i am afraid that if i press something wrong the phone will get bricked and dont know how to fix it.Thats why i asked for an alternative. And sorry for not beeing so polite but i I Swear to God i have done so much reading that it only made me be more afraid than i was before.

-Actually he is right, there is no need to question the guides, it is research and proven by those OP(s) and also ppl like us who have successfully rooted it.
-So you found some ppl posted their issue, I believe most of their issue were solved and they posted about it.
-you can search for your error code in the forum with the search option either by thread or post.
[2]Read them and try to understand, what each part and each command is doing, and what it's needed for.
-He is actually guiding you, each step is a process, once u take ur time to read and understand and break down the process you will find that it isn't so complicated. And if u bum into an issue within any of those step u can simply find the solution(s) in a later post. (i actually wish some one told me that before i started, i have no idea what i was doing when i started)
-With that in note, read whether ur phone is branded, if it needs a goldcard, zergrush or some other, because some process are not necessary while others may be a must.
