ICS camera problem - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed nexus beam and the only problem I have is that the camera stock app wont take pics! It says no available USB storage, when I have 1 GB free! I use other camera apps fine! Its just the stock app causing problems. Why is this?

Anyone have this issue? I guess I'll just reflash

Bump this is pissing me off!!

Why doesnt anyone know how to fix this? I even reflashed roms and it still happens! Anyone? My camera wont take pics.

Well I'm afraid to say that , incase you tried different roms and you stil have the problem , that there is a hardware problem with the camera itself or its connection to the sd card
I assume you did a FULL system wipe/clean/factory defaults with each trial !

IMHO I would not install apps interfering with system components (like a camera app or enhanced calling etc...)
Hopefully somebody can chime in here for a solution !
goodluck

Yeah ive unistalled everything and use stock camera but this error still keeps coming

You might want to look at editing your build.prop file. Not sure if that is your problem though

I wouldnt know where to begin on that one.
I can flash CWM/ODIN and some basic troubleshooting. that's my extent of fixing this.
Try this: http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/ha5oh/root_how_to_edit_your_buildprop_to_make_netflix/
That is a guide on how to get Netflix to work and it may be helpful with your problem. Otherwise try clearing data on the Market and uninstalling updates to the Market. If you uninstall the updates to the Market it will automatically update to the newest version again.

[Q] Phone Switch Off Automatically After Removing from Charging

Hey,
I am getting an issue with my phone all of a sudden.
When i connect to charger it shows battery charged 100%, when i remove it phone switch off automatically.
I checked the battery and it works fine on my friend's galaxy Ace. I tried using his battery but same issue again. So it has nothing to do with the battery.
I deleted batterystats, bin also but no help, tried flashing stock rom again and same issue.
Is it has to do with hardware ?? My phone is out of warranty so hardware issues are unbearable for now.
Do you have a GB based rom?If no install one,or an official firmware and see if the error persists. If it persists go to a Samsung Service .

Don`t forget to press THANKS
Yep I have GB...tried most of the roms now. I guess it's an hardware issue.

Yeah maybe, better is to go to a Samsung Service and tell them about the problem. But don't tell them that you changed firmwares and put a GB firmware.Hope I helped you.

No camera !!!!!

I woke up and my camera app would not open. Didn't force close, screen just went back and back to home screen. Installed camera fx and same thing. On ics leak with leaked radio since the day it dropped. I rebooted a backup and superwiped and installed nusense and newts 4.0 + 3.6. All the same result "no camera apps work" any ideas on a fix.. also flashed the camera patch

What rom are you on right now? And when you installed Newts 4.0 or Santods NuSense did you format in ext3 in 4EXT recovery??

Yes I did, I'm going to try and reformat a new sdcard I got and do another clean install of nusense and see what happens. In currently on bamfs ics leak.

If your on a ics ROM still, you can hold the home button and when camera pops up on the right, try holding that in. Should let you wipe its cache . I'm not in ics right now, but I pretty sure you can do that . Just don't know if I said that right lol

I would just say wipe everything make a back up of your sdcard on your pc reformat it then partition it to ext3 redownload what ever Rom you want to run, and basically start from scratch. It sounds like a lot, but I did it about 4 times today and isn't too bad the longest part is backing up your sd card. Give that a shot, I wasn't getting force closes, my app just wouldn't open.

So, I know that if you flash CWM 10.2 you won't be able to flash anything that isn't 10.2, but what if I restore a backup will it 'restore' regular CWM orrr.. ?

I can confirm fast burst camera works fine.
With the gallery or 3rd party gallery rebooting the phone. I had to hide my videos (mp4s). After hiding them from the media scan it works fine.

Interesting, I'm about to re-flash the new build that he posted this morning, and then I'll try that. I never had issues with the gallery and I'm assuming that's because I didn't have any videos? Anyways, Thanks!
Finally had some time to flash. Did a complete wipe and empty internal/external SD cards.
No issues at all besides camera not working. Any other camera app works fine (snapchat, instagram, facebook)
WiFi works great. Cell data works great.
Looking forward to a plain CM 10.2 ROM
EDIT: I'm also on the herc JB radio

Maybe the GPS antenna on the device became loose or doesnt have a good contact. When you disassemble the phone it should be a long wire connected to the mobo and charging port assembly. Find a repair video for it (like this one http://youtu.be/z8BJVchUlTs) , pull wire from the mobo clean contacts a bit then reattach, then try again. Hope this helps!
@bokithq i had replaced charging port so it seems gps issue is because of that. But i can check it about a month later because my screen is broken and i am waiting for a new one.
What about camera issue? Both camera don't work

İ was using camera with insertcoin rom before dissasembly. After issue appeared, i tried another rom with clean install but nothing different. İ think it is hardware issue.
