[Q] Stock ROM + Google+ = Rogers logo bootloop

I have the stock 'v10c' ROM on a 'Rogers' LG Optimus 3D.
This morning I was using the Google+ Android client and - without closing the app - pushed the power button to put the phone to sleep and put it in my pocket.
About 15 mins later I pulled the phone out of my pocket and it was dark, but the touch countrols were all lit up. I know that usually isn't good news. The phone was unresponsive.
I pulled the battery and tried to re-boot. It gets to the Rogers screen and then boot-loops, with a flash of the Rogers screen each time it restarts a cycle. Roughly 15 seconds apart.
I did vol+down+Power (guessing based on other phones) and it booted into a recovery (3e) menu that only offered me the chance to wipe all user data. Ok. I moved the cursor down using vol+down and sletected "yes" with Home. The phone then presented a triangle logo and the green android and sat there.
Meanwhile...I Googled. After about 10 mins I pulled the battery again and did the Vol+down+3D button+Power boot to the REAL recovery menu.
I then did a wipe / factory reset from the recovery menu. I have assumed the Home button is the enter button (BTW).
Again the triangle and the green android appear. They are still there 10 mins later.
Not sure what to do now...the phone won't boot and the factory reset won't fix it. But it isn't dead. I can still get to recovery, so in theory this is fixable. I just don't have time for it right now. :-/
I was wondering if maybe the phone had updated OTA in my pocket and I didn't realise it and I may have messed up the process. But I have never seen a phone do an OTA update without first notifying the user and seeking confirmation...so I that probably isn't the case.
Very annoying.
I'm posting this here in case anyone else has the same experience.
Anyone have any advice?
[Update: The Menu button is the enter button...not Home. So I did a real factory reset and the phone now boots to the "Welcome to your new phone" screen. *WHEW!*]
Uhmm... if Menu button is home button that means u have problem with build.prop. I never met with this kind of problem, however I think u just should turn on usb mode in cwm, put a ROM on phone, flash it and see how this will be. Don't forget to backup ur rom.

Hi there,
I've got the same problem with my LG P920.
Then I read your thread and now I can tell you how to fix...
The recovery is the right way to fix, but the homebutton is not the menu button.
You have use the Options Button the first from the left side or the 3d-button.
Than you came to factory default and you can restart youre device.

Anyone know the glitch that is causing this?

[Q] Button lights stuck on... is there a fix?

As per subject.
My missus phone is having problems.
The lights for the homr, back, menu and search buttons and also the call and end call buttons lights are constantly on. The stay on regardless of screen brightness, screen on or off or phone locked or unlocked. Also the keyboard lights dont light up at all either.
She doesnt want to factory reset as she will loose everything :/ and she doesnt want the hassle of bavking everything up etc.
Just wondered if anyone had come across this and had a simple fix?
Ive tried pulling the battery and rebooting to no avail. Her phone is completely stock, unrooted and locked just as she bought it.

Might be an app that overrides the system settings? Had this once while I was testing an app that my buddy build... Was fixed after deleting the app...

GS3 Screen Freezes When Recieving Call Or Text

The problem started about a week ago. Whether it was coincidence or not I don't know but around the same time the software updates through OTA update and u replaced the battery (Zerolemon 7000).
Anyway, what happens is that if my phone is asleep and I get a call or text, the screen comes on, but I can't answer the call or text (screen is unresponsive) until I tap the power button twice to turn the screen off and then back on. At that point the screen works perfectly.
I've tried clearing the cache and changing batteries but it didn't change anything.
Any ideas? I'm completely stock and unrooted.

[Q] Virus or Bricked it ?

Hey Guys, I'd Like to ask a question , very weird going on about my device... Only one time I got that Lovely Icon (exclamation mark) with a phone sign followed by a computer, yes that means that i am in download mode, i fixed it but once i got passed that small error my phone has been acting up.. I've tried CM10 keeps restarting by itself once in a while, I had tried going COMPLETELY going to stuck by using a Youtube video on how to unbrick it... NO luck. This time it freezes up and all applications become unresponsive, Facebook FORCECLOSE and other apps& and restarts, once is in the home screen i hold the power button and i only get one option "POWER OFF" its very weird because I remeber there was "DATA IS SET "ON" ETC, other settings in the phone had been re-enabled for ex. haptic feedback vibration. i had that turned off and it came back on by itself, second setting is the lock screen i cant set up a lock setting because once i press the unlock button and wait about 5 seconds it would go directly to the home screen W/O asking to enter to any patter. I tried gingerbread 2.3.6, with this rom all apps are UNAVAILABLE.. YES they dont open up.. EVEN facebok.. I took out the battery, turned it back on, and once it gets to the "rethink possible" keeps restarting the att motion until it finally restarts the whole phone and it keeps doing this.. I wanted to ask you guys if my phone is bricked or something because is really annoying. Thanks !
A brick would be where you wouldn't be able to boot up. A virus would be wiped out when flashing a new rom. When installing a new rom, did you also format /system? Sometimes that irons out some bugs. Maybe doing a wipe on your dalvik and cache seperatly could help.

Nexus 5 stuck in "no command" Boot Loop

I disabled Google Search on my Nexus 5 (32GB Black) running the latest 4.4.2, and restarted the phone in an attempt of getting rid of the google search bar on the home screen.
However, my phone is stuck on the boot logo where the 4 colored circles keep playing on the screen. I cannot get past that. My phone isn't rooted, and I don't wish to root it either.
I tried going into the recovery mode and doing a factory reset/wipe all data thing.
But the screen still is stuck on the circles.
I am a former iOS user, and new to Android.
Please help!

use the button combo (power and vol down) to go into fast boot and from there to recovery (by using vol up and down to choose and power to select) and you should be able to reset the phone.

Same Problem
Hi all,Same happend to me today,
got few hours ago my new Nexus 5 white 16 Gb.
I treid to stop GOOGLE SEARCH service and my device stuck saddenly on Google boot logo,
I done full factory reset and it solved the problem
Thanks
google search is responsible for a whole lot more than the search bar in kitkat, and the launcher/homescreens are part of it as well.

I experienced the same random boot loop problem while trying to set an alarm. What confused me even more was that it would not respond while discharging, whereas when I plugged it in, it would go into bootloop. The bootloop did not give me enough time to go into recovery but in the 30 mins i spent trying, I managed it once, only to see the TWRP page for 2 secs before the phone restarted.
The solution ? I tampered with my nails at the power button and it fixed it !?!
Who knew....
I have a similar problem
Hello everyone I am very new to this area of computing (and this forum). However I have still ended up in the same hole as you guys are describing although it happened for a completely different reason. (BTW: I am rooted)
one day I tryed to play the android game NOVA 3 on my Nexus 7 on the highest graphical setting so I went and researched how to do this. I was pointed towards some kind of app called 'ChainFire 3D', Once I pressed the install button inside this app the Nexus 7 switched off and the next time I tried to turn it on I got the X logo of death (boot loop)http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/mad.gif. I then tried to enter recovery and I got the annoying 'no command' errorhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/crying.gif. I cant seem to remember how I rooted this thing but I do have access to the fastboot stuff ONLY (inside cmd).
if there is anyone who has any idea how to go about fixing such an issue without wiping everything on my nexus could they please get back to me ASAP.http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
Thanks in advance.http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/fingers-crossed.gif

define settings, define high.
Android doesn't have a specific device-wide option called "game settings".

Ok, same thing happened to me, I disabled the Google search (on Kitkat 4.4.4) cause it was draining battery and then my homescreen disappeared. I restarted my phone and it got stuck on the four circles.
-Possible solution-
As strange as it might sound, once you have the four circles displayed, have someone call you and then the call screen will suddenly appear. Answer the call and hit the speaker button, so you could access your phone. When in call screen, just slide the home button up to access Google Now and preform an update through Google Play(it will offer you to update to a newer version). Once the update is completed you should see the homescreen again - (unfortunately you have to rearrange it...)
