[Q] Revolver Rom VS Revolution HD Rom - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Which Rom is better? Revolver or Revolution?
I plan to be emulating alot of Old Roms like N64, PSX, and so on.
as well as Multi Media.
which one will give me better battery life, with out sacrificing any performance.

They about the same too me.. Just choose one..

Revolver as it has more kernal options and tweaking via revolver parts plus revolution doesn't get many updates.

prime; both those roms are pretty much kangs of prime anyway

It really is a matter of personal opinion. IMHO I think Revolver is buttery smooth and great on battery life. The functionality you get with Revolver Parts is unbeatable. I have tried all the TF ROMS available and they were all good with Prime being my least favorite.

revolution seems smoother to me and the wifi is much more stable than prime and revolver (and the new kid on the block kracked or smth).

I've heard people with revolver get quicker boot times, just something to consider.

Just switched back to revolver 3.10 from revolution HD. Revolver is smoother by a mile for me.

I have the Revolver on my transformer and love it. I'm hoping that Gnufabio creates a rom for the Galaxy Nexus as I cam currently using Revolution on there.

Prime. Roach is real deal, hence he's on the team for cm9.

My opinion is that Revolver has better support and update than Revolution.

Tried them all now. Revolver is miles ahead in terms of smoothness, speed and customisation. The others appeared laggy to me. That is on the stock kernel as well.

Best stable ROM?

What's the best rom out there for the transformer without bugs?
There is no such thing as honeycomb without bugs if you want bug free wait for the 3rd or 4th revision of icys for the tf101

All I can say is that I have not had any ROM related bugs while using Prime. Give or take one update that missed a symlink and broke crond, sth almost no one is ****ly to use lol

I prefer Revolver. Along with it's Revolver Parts app, it is VERY customizable and super fast (and stable)!
Highly Recommended!

Well whats the most stable of the available roms and fastest at the same time?
Revolver with Roach's Prime kernel. Running for 2 weeks @ 1.5ghz. Absolutely no problems. Watch Netflix alot with no issues. Use Quickoffice during work with no issues. Loaded Gmail v4 with no problems. Run @mail for office Outlook sync, no problems. I'm happy.

I have tried prime krakd arhd and revolver so far my favorite at the moment is revolver but i am trying eeebomb tonight as it looks promising especially for a initial release ill let you know
Krakd was fast but has bugs that need sorting so for starting off go revolver
Edit: (to be updated soon after eeebomb test)
I have used Prime, Revolution and Revolver. They all worked about the same for me. Nothing inspiring though. Is there anything a little different out there for our beloved tablet? Thanks
Depends what you think of stock and kraked or w/e it's called.

I want to try Revolution HD, how is that compared to Revolver? All the roms apparently claim to be the fastest and provide the most battery life...
I am running Revolver 3.9.5 with the blade3 kernel without problems.

i've tried run the same movie by the same player program(Moboplayer) but Revolution can run smoother than Revolver.

[Q]Rogue CM9 vs TeamEos ICS

Has anyone compared the performance between these two ROMS? If you have, what kind of performance/interface tweaks are different between the two?

I suggest flashing each and see which one you like. They may run different on your Xoom.
I ran TeamEOS's ICS until yesterday and am now running the CM9 rom. I honestly can't see a difference with regards to performance issues. Will hang on to CM9 for now, but if TeamEOS come up with something spectacular I'm going back to their ICS nightlies. So far the only difference I've noticed is face recognition unlock not working in CM9.
the rogue kernel was slightly faster, but all of the eos features can not be beat right now.
I found both to run with the same smoothness.
I thank all the developers from all the teams for their hard work.
I tried both. Eos has more features, but CM9 is faster.
Quadrant benchmark without overcloking:
Eos: 2303
CM9: 3174
My experience:
TeamEOS nightly is smoother, CM9 (1-15) has CIFS working. (the reason I switched, but will go back to TeamEOS once they got CIFS working).

ROM Recommendation please?

I haven't rooted/modded in awhile. I used to just use CM7 when I first got the phone. I've gone through 3 replacements now and have yet to mod it. Can you guys recommend the best ROM for the specifics I'm looking for?
-Has to have wifi calling (this is a must i barely get 1 bar to no svc in my apartment)
-has to record in 1080
-has to have HDMI working
Please let me know which ROM you'd recommend? I'm tired of the stock always getting the black screen of death and the random reboots. Tmobile said they can't exchange it anymore. Thanks!

Try all of them then pick the one u like best.
NVIDIA NEVER AGAIN!
Weapon or Tsugi. Love weapon G2x because it is really stable amd has great toggles. Tsugi is great also but i really want the toggles.

Ran 2.3.3 eaglesblood for the longest and it was very stable, but I really like voodoo and the faux123 kernel for ota based roms kept freezing and rebooting my phone worse than the stock ROM/kernel and it took forever to reboot due to the cache rebuild issue. Then I tried RG2x MIUI and loved it but had too many bugs...plus MIUI has a bit of a learning curve to it. Now I'm on phoenixblood 1.4 with faux123 cm7 based kernel and so far everything is great. Only been a couple days but so far fast, smooth and stable!
If you don't care about overclocking or voodoo sound, then eaglesblood 2.3.3 based is very stable and fast.

I would also recommend one of the Eagle's Blood or Phoenix Blood Variants. Quick and stable. Good Luck!
Phoenix blood 1.4 no special kernels...
Yeah, I have tried then all and ever since nightly 201 from cyanogen...the CM 7 build have been the best

Get the one with the shoulder thing that goes up...
I've been using Weapon 2.6 since the day it was released. I also need WiFi calling.
Just install the LG cam 3.0 add-on and your set. I can also confirm that HDMI works nicely.
FWIW; I'v installed every iteration of Weapon as it was released. V 2.6 is the most stable for me.
I just got done trying the wajkui, and it worked pretty damn good. CM 7 worked pretty well for me too, and I have finally moved on to Bionix. It is all about finding which rom works best for you. Download a rom and try it out for a week, and flash another until you find what works. There are so many people who have made great roms, I am starting to get addicted to flashing one rom for a week and flashing another one the next week.
Bionix works really, really well for me and it's in active development. I've had good and bad experiences with Weapon, and I've also tried Tsugi and MIUI. So far Bionix has been the best for me. Good battery life, very responsive and most recently no random reboots.
If youre looking for straight style, go with MIUI. It looks great and theres plenty of very smooth themes out there I use a custom port called Singh-UI, its a bit more stable.
If youre looking for more customizations, go with CM7 Nightlies or Phoenixblood
I have tried all but right now I think the best two are Singh or WajkIUI both are MIUI ports.

Phoenix Blood is what I am using now. Was using Weapon because I thought no other ROM could match it's battery life and stability. This was after trying MIUI ports, CM7, etc. Phoenix Blood is stable, smooth, and I EASILY get a full day out of it with pretty heavy use. But, it all depends on what you are looking for, stylistically I mean.
Phoenix blood runs great on my phone, with very few bugs, it also gets frequent updates
I've only flashed CM7S, so i can't compare it to anything. I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it! But I'm using CM7s latest nightly with faux123s CM OC/UV v0.4.8 kernel. I like all themes there are for CM7. Oh, and of course the great performance and awesome battery life I'm getting is good too. Best thing to do would be, backup and flash a new ROM every week or so and see which is better

Ive really been liking Miui. especially nycelitemaster version, Singh. Try it out, its different but cool

Cm7 with the Trinity "thedestroyer" kernal. Phone doesn't get any faster. I get a solid day of battery life with the right profiles on setcpu and juice defender ultimate.

Weapon is another amazing rom. works great. Super stable fast, customizable themes, launchers beautiful qp toggles for ultimate convenience.

which is best for battery and no reboots?

Disappointing performance.

So I have the US version and I've had it for a while (about a month) and I'm really disappointed with the performance. Scroll lags, the notification shade pulls down smoother on a galaxy player (that has less than 500mb of ram and is single core) and the 3d gaming performance is laggy. Like GTA3 should be able to run on max settings! Just disappointed and expected more.

OK? Why post this? Why not just get a new phone? Have you tried any other ROMs?

I played Tactics Ogre on my phone and Dead Trigger with no problems. Plus with most ROMs I don't encounter the same lag you have experience.
Maybe Powersave mode is on...

Sorry, the rest got cut out for some reason. I was asking if anyone else had this problem.
And a new phone is not an option. My family is on forclosure on the house right now so I might just cancel my data plan and use this as like an iPod.

Idk man, I've not had much lag at all. I've been rooted since the day I got it of course, so I've been running custom ROMs for a while.

Try flashing Cyanogen Mod from the original android section. General ui is much snappier and it doesn't have game lag like all the 4.1.2 TW ROMs.
Samsung really dropped the ball with the 4.1.2 updates. A phone this powerful should not lag playing temple run.

I get some lag while playing ingress and minecraft. Kinda annoying but it's better than my old phone and I hope my next is better than this one.

Are you running it stock? Phone runs great with custom stock ROMs & Kernals, but everyone has their own opinions. The games i've played ive not have any lag, but i'm running a custom kernal and ROM. That probably has is the difference, but i'm not overclocked.
well there's only two things that are certain in this world.... no tech device is ever perfect and taxes always increase.
If you expect anything different you will always be disappointed.
That being said, I had ANdroid phones since the HTC Eris and they keep improving. S3 is really nice, maybe the best of this generation, but its not perfect.
Lots of people are looking for infinite gaming speed + infinite battery life... well the two don't go together. There are always trade-off. speed vs. power, vs. size, vs. cost.
Oh and by the way, multi-core is mostly a marketing gimmick. The GPU does most of the graphics work and most apps are not multi-threaded, so a fast single core beats a slower multi-core every time. It's cheaper to make a slow multi-core processor than to make a faster single core.
I also noticed lag on the device which i put off was caused by Touch Wiz. I confirmed this when i finally rooted and started trying different ROMs.
The lag is there in all TW ROM's for me; however if you really want to stick with TW, the smoothest running TW ROM I've tried so far is Goodness. That is what i'm currently using. I don't experience lag during gaming or Apps though even with touch wiz... so might be just your phone.
However, if you can do without touchwiz, the AOSP ROMs are like butter and i experience no lag at all. At least the 4.2.2 ROMS. I've tried Liquidsmooth, paranoid android, Pac-man and Chameleon.
Crazy I'm 100 % stock and my phone runs awesome! I don't do much gaming so I can't chime in on that but I don't have lag at all like you describe. Do you have a live wallpaper installed??
Sent from my GeeEssThree
I've tried a lot of the TW based ROM, Synergy, Hyperdrive , others and all the well developed one's run great for me. I don't see any lag. I also tried CM10 and no noticeable difference, I think a lot of the comment are caused by placebo effec, some people just hate OEM stufft. Also people will load up their home screens with 3000 widgets and say wow this phone / rom sucks, LOL m Then they load some new ROM with no widgets yet and go, wow this is really smooth....... until they load 3000 widgets and it sucks again. Hey , there really is a limit to performance on any phone.

What is the absolute smoothest fastest rom available for the xoom?

I ask this because my xoom is gathering dust in my cupboard and I have no use for it now that I have an HTC One, I am used the the responsiveness and 'fastness' of the phone and that was one of the reasons I stopped using the xoom; the lag
Every rom I used be it EOS or CM10.1 always lagged even when the xoom was overclocked.
If I can find a nice smooth rom I might start using the xoom again :victory: :victory:

I find CM 10.1 to be very stable and smooth for me. Very rarely do I have slowdowns. I also OC'ed the CPU. Try loading Elemental's kernel if you load CM 10.1. It did not work well for me, but those that it does work for say it makes the ROM much better.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
From my experience the smoothest is CM10 (Cyanogenmod 4.1.2) : the smoothest and the faster I tried.
I only found 1 problem with this ROM : the default Android webbrowser crashes sometimes.
For now, I don't want any other android release on my Xoom as my priority is smoothness ...
As Kitkat should be even smoother, I hope to see this release on the Xoom, but I don't dream a lot !
Ok, thanks for the help guys. I'll check out CM10
