Try this first.. which is easier... redownload/install Superuser app from Market... see if that fixes your issue.

Use root checker to confirm?
You can also see if super user app is there in your applications...
ofcourse you can check that by downloading root checker app from play store.

Just reflash.
Like lumin says reflash. Use the second link in his signature.
However what rom are/were you on?If it is not a stock based rom dont use the reset feature within the phone use the one in recovery.
Thanks lumin you continue to be a trusted advisor. I flashed
a stock gingerbread from lumin last week.

So since i'm about to flash i'm a little interested in a different ROM. Are there any perfect roms for this device?

Perfect is a hard statement to make. Any of the ICS flavors are pretty stable there are bugs but even stock roms have bugs. I think barebones by antonx is a good one and VB by FB is too.
Is it add simple as installing stock GB was using heimdall? I've read good things about VB would you possibly post a link? Most I click on are dead/inoperable...

Actually I think it did. But since your so quick to make BASELESS accusations I will explain. I'm new and didn't really know where to put it. After my first post I decided it fit better elsewhere. Tasks for inquiring jacka**

Had that problem before u just reflash the ROM. As long as u can still go to cwm recovery

It un rooted itself again! Wth. I dont have cwm. How do I get that?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
Run Gremlin Remover and go from there. You will have root and CWM to flash the ROM you want.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22596598
I'm not sure that I understand the cwm. Click work mod? I put that on my CPU and tether it with the market app? Sorry this is still very new to me...

Super user

Hey guys sorry for this noob question. So i rooted my s3 and have superuser. My friend has S3 with att and he has super su instead of superuser. I was just wondering why is that.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Superuser is written by ChainsDD and superSU is by chainfire. 2 different apps (& binaries?) that do the same thing (manage superuser access for you).

is it possible to switch which superuser application to use?

Yes. Download SuperSU then open it and let it update binaries + give it normal superuser permission first.
Then go to your downloaded applications and unistall any updates to Superuser. Finally, get Titanium Backup and then Uninstall Superuser.
Oh yeah and Reboot afterwards

[Q] question about Rom Ported JW8 v2 SAUROM Project

Sorry guys I'm new to XDA so i have to pots only in Q&A section.
I installed Ported JW8 v2 SAUROM Project rom days ago, its been running ok, very quick rom, the only problem its that i can't manage the root access for the applications, it seems to be that it not working.
does anyone knows any fix?
thanks
Is superuser installed? If so go to it, and go to settings and enable root. Should be OK.
If its not installed it might be the ROM didn't default it.
You could probably one click easy root. Just like the stock Rom.

I had the same problem. I believed that somewhere in the thread the op listed a flash able zip that would fix the Superuser problem.
Here you are:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34358973&postcount=38
I had a similar issue once, just telling superuser to allow that app fixed it. But I'm guessing previous poster was the answer

[Q] Rooted but not really

I updated my phone to Jellybean. I used OTA rootkeeper to keep root. I then restored root using the same app. After doing this, I don't really have root. In OTA rootkeeper, it says that the device is rooted but the "root permission granted" box is not checked. Anything I can do to recover root without having to flash a custom recovery or do a full data wipe on my phone? Thanks in advance!

i think when you go from and ICS to JB update the root keeper method fails to restore root. i have only had luck when updating from different versions of ICS.

Oh goody. Is there one that won't force me to do a full data-wipe? If not, which do you recommend? Thanks.

This is the only method I'm aware of to root jb. It will keep all your data and it's not add difficult as it looks.

[Q] Unroot S3 without computer

Hi all. First off I'd like to apologise if this is in the incorrect place (as a seasoned user of forums like this I understand how irritating it can be) but I've hunted about and this is the most relevant board I can find.
The USB port on my GT-I9300 is broken - I can't charge and can't connect to my PC - so it's looking like I have to send it off to Samsung to get it fixed/replaced however I have rooted my phone. Is there a way I can unroot it without having to connect to a computer?
Any advice is greatly appreciated as I'm in a bit of a panic.
You should be able to pull a clean ROM onto it then reboot in recovery and do a factory reset then install the clean, stock ROM. I don't know if they will even care about that but a good just in case

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I'm a bit of a luddite so I'm not entirely sure how I would go about doing the above?
There should be an option to unroot in the su app. Idk which su app you are using but super su has a full unroot option.

Thanks! I never noticed that option before. I'll give it a go.
I've seen some talk of needing Triangle Away & Mobile Odin to unroot my phone properly? Is that correct or am I okay just using the option on SuperSU since I've never actually installed a custom rom, I just unrooted the phone?
This is the Verizon forum. Not sure if the advice applies to the international version.
